Great staff and amazing displays. The displays change every two months or so. It's perfect for a classy night in town

The exhibit on hand doesn't compare to other major museums, but what they have is done so well. And the events at the museum are beyond what I expected. I'm so glad I just stopped by and had an amazing experience. Well worth the effort.
Amazing Museum I had ever seen people who there are most friendly
Great activity to do with children. Our tickets were discounted because not all exhibits were open.
Family friendly and always has interesting events and exhibits. Well curated.
Great size, beautiful setting, fantastic for kids, very friendly staff
A wonderful piece of cultural magnificence in the heart of Nashville. Exhibit change regularly. Must see in the wonderful restaurant attached to it.
Beautiful building and really friendly staff. Worth visiting !
Did not realize this museum has no collection of its own.. Parking is expensive at $10 an hour.
I took my students on a field trip here. The building has a fun history and is very cool to see the old style post office. The museum it self has changing exsibits and are always fun. The kids zone is great to have some hands on art and they get to create their own.
Amazing fine arts exhibits and activities! The Frist Art Museum is home to many great opportunities for attendees to view and create art. Parking is $2/hr and admission is free for children to 18 and under. With frequently changing exhibits, this museum is a great place for locals and tourists alike.
Gorgeous installation! I visit frequently and always leave enthused!
Small museum with no permanent collection so your experience weighs heavily on what the current exhibit is. Cafe is fantastic, chicken salad with homemade potato chips is my fav. Great gift ship with wide variety. The building itself is impressive and beautiful being a historic 1920s art deco post office originally.
If in Nashville, stop by because this old art deco Post Office, now art museum, is amazing. With no permanent collections, they have amazing traveling exhibits from around the world. GO!
I've enjoyed every trip I've taken here, there is an interactive area upstairs where you can paint and be creative so it's something for everyone
Always a pleasure to visit this museum! They feature traditional exhibits as well as modern art and change their offerings fairly often.
Affordable, good rotation of exhibits, not too large of space and good cafe.
Love this quaint art museum, the Art Quest play area(for creative's if all ages) as well as the gift shop.
I enjoy going to different exhibits here. I like the multiple levels.
There is no permanent collection. It might as well be an event space. The exhibitions were okay, but like a lot of places in Nashville, it seems to offer more than you actually get for the price.
The Art Deco event was fabulous!!! Great venue for an amazing night out with friends!!!
Building and architecture is more interesting than galleries.
Interesting place, well quiet and well organized ... I will the place can stay open late more days during the week.
I really enjoyed the layout and the exciting exhibits they have brought here
My daughter had won Outstanding Achievement Award for her picture! Love the different arts!
Amazing art museum with an excellent kids section. Must try if you have kids!
We were in Nashville for the weekend and saw an advertisement for Eric Carle's exhibit. It was so much fun! My girls loved the ArtQuest area, too.
"Art" was so bad we laughed the whole time we were there. Disappointment.
Art was good, interactive area on second floor was great.
The Roman exhibit was very informative and collabative of Roman 7th grade world history curriculum. Wonderful!
The Martin ArtQuest is amazing for kids (and grown ups).
Very nice, enjoyed just walking around looking, they have tours but we just wanted to move along at our own pace, which your are more than welcome to do
Visited the World War 1 exhibit when it was in town. Very interesting.
Very cute, interesting exhibits with very friendly helpful staff.
Art is a wonderful thing. Sometimes beautifully done and sometimes not well at all but you have to go see it to truly understand this. Go to the Frist Center throughout the year!
Had wonderful art pieces both upstairs and down. Also showcases artwork from local teens. When we went the main showcase was for Freda Kahlo. Wonderfully informative and beautiful.
Smaller than I expected, but a very good place to spend a couple hours! We enjoyed the impressionism exhibit.
Beautiful museum with a wonderful hands on art area for museum goers of all ages
This museum often has very enjoyable and intriguing exhibits. Make sure to visit often as they change them frequently. There is also a very useful student discount.
It is a great art museum! There is an excellent gift shop. There are activities upstairs for kids and adults. Plus, if you are a student at Watkins College of Art (which I happen to be) you can get in for free on certain days. On Monday (August 26th 2019) we went on a field trip for our Core I: Surface, Space, and Time class.
Overall, the Frist is okay. I come from Raleigh NC which has a HUGE and very diverse art museum, so I was really shocked to basically only see a handful of exhibit rooms. The art was almost explicitly just English and French oil on canvas, with a very tiny room in the back for modern art. I d say this venue is more for a person in love with historical art. Parking was a pain, and I suggest you get there early to avoid a huge line.
Had a blast. The kids activities room is amazing. My daughter had such a great time. Coloring, pairing, drawing.
Art deco building with beautiful green marble and period accents. Museum itself is a little small, but they rotate exhibits regularly and bring in lots of very interesting special exhibits.
A wonderful place! The French artist Degas, Monet and Van Gogh is a must see.
We saw the Ragnar Kjartansson: The Visitors. It was great. The Frist is beautiful inside & the event was free which was an added bonus.
Beautiful building. Friendly desk. But the museum sucks. The exhibits were angry murals by black artists and clothing made my indegenous people. Postmodernity is devoid of beauty and positive emotions. Even the cafe was lack luster.
Such a great place for children and adults alike. A must of you enjoy the arts.
Frieda Khalo was a fantastic exhibit. My college student got in free. Love the buildings architecture.
All the art was beautiful staff was very friendly the kids interactive zone is very awesome my daughter loved it
Always a great experience! Love the exhibits and layout of the museum. Membership is worth it for all the exhibits and events they offer.
Dorthea Lange and Impressionists shows are over-the- top amazing!
Amazing exhibits! The Samurai armor and weaponry was beautiful and informative of the Japanese craftsmanship. The installation by Ragnor was unlike anything I had seen before. Definitely spend the hour to watch the full sequence.
What made our trip even better was the great staff who walked us through the hands on activites and let us know about the exhibits.
Love this gem of Nashville!
I love this museum. There's always some inventive and interesting exhibit going on. Ranging from cars, Van Gogh, samurai. It's always a treat! The parking lot fills up quickly but there's plenty of nearby parking under $10 for several hours.
The exhibits change so there's always lots to see here!
It is a nice building and their exhibits are always fantastic.
We had a fabulous visit to the Frist Art Museum. It was well worth our 3 hour visit! The Frida Kahlo exhibit was outstanding.
Beautiful space, friendly staff, gorgeous exhibits.
Rotating exhibits near downtown Nashville. Has student and member discounts. On-site paid parking available in back.
It is a art deco style building with adequate parking. Visited a exhibition on ancient Rome. Reasonable rates.
Fantastic museum in the old art deco style post office building.
Three shows going on right now: Awe & Chaos, The Presence of Absence, and Image Building. All excellent, challenging, and require time and energy to digest.
This place is more than just fun. Amazing Frida kahlo exhibit and dint miss the second floor kids area.
Wonderful acters and actresses. Very into character at all times. 10/10 would go again.
Wonderful museums and great place to spend the day with family, friends.
A WPA restored art deco post office as a first class package art museum
Pretty small and admission price doesn t really reflect that. Had a cool Dorothea Lange exhibition when I was there.
Great exhibits and reasonable prices make the Frist a great place to visit. I follow them on Social Media so I don t miss an exhibit I may want to see. Parking is in the back.
There was only one exhibit open, and even if there were two it would have been a little over priced for me.
The art museums building is incredible. A great example of art deco architecture. The museum itself is very well laid out. The only problem I had with it is that it didn't have enough exhibits, only three.
A wonderful place! I visited an Egyptian Exhibit they had several years back and I will never be the same again! It was amazing@
