Pretty good museum. The building architecture is very cool. Pro tip: You can go for free if you have your ticket from the Country Music Hall of Fame. That was a pleasant surprise that didn t come up in my trip research. I liked the photography exhibit.

The Frist has a lovely cafe with wonderful staff and the interactive exhibits for children and adults on the second floor are superb. The art exhibits were fantastic as well. The reasonable price of the museum also allows for any budget. However, the lack of parking, the lurking security making for an uncomfortable viewing experience, and the lack of customer service in areas of the museum keep the rating from being much higher.

Some of the best exhibits in any museum I've visited. Really well curated, cohesive displays, excellent supporting materials. And the museum personnel went out of their way to be helpful.

The Frist is a must-see when visiting Nashviller, regardless of the time of year. The institution has a variety of exhibits throughout the season. They workers are helpful and courteous. The exhibits are located inside Nashville's old postal building. It's a beautiful place. Go on the architectural tour. Plus, there audio tires are very helpful and enjoyable.

I think it is unfair to the Frist to have three negative reviews leading off, the only reviews visible on the website with the rest of the reviews continued later. So many other persons have enjoyed the Frist and its consistently fine exhibitions. A few disgruntled visitors are not representative of everyone.

The Frist Center has never disappointed. I live three hours away and have to stay over when I go to exhibits but they are worth every minute. Sensuous Steel was beyond words,as was The Birth of Impressionism, Chihuly, Aboriginal Art. I anyways feel like it's my own private showing. Membership is a wonderful investment in the Arts.

Oh, Michelangelo!!! To see his drafts, sketches, and art and know they are over 500 hundred years old is almost inconceivable to me. I have also seen Modigliani here and cried the happiest of tears. There are some amazing exhibitions here and I love Frist!!

A Nashvillian of 15+ years, we frequently visit the Frist. Today the Cobb salad at the Cafe was delicious. The Italian Automotive Renaissance exhibit was outstanding! A must do for all who visit Nashville, as well as the locals.

Staff member at the counter tried to scam my husband on parking. Told my husband we had to pay $15 for parking with cash. Luckily my husband felt something was not right so came back outside instead of paying him and paid $2 outside at the parking booth. They need more ethical employees.

My first visit was amazing! Priced well, clean, friendly and knowledgeable and friendly staff and security detail.
The building itself should be an exhibit because of the attention to detail and flow of the floor plan. Great place to go.

Went to see good things and most of the building was empty. How come Frist does not have their own displays which stay in the building so we will have something to look at anytime we visit? Seems so strange why this premium property sits mostly empty.

The Deep South turns out to be cultural! Our curator, a retired businessman, gave us detailed, emotional and sometimes funny talk into Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera s life and artwork. Never felt tired in the 1.5 hours narration. Got much more than in Mexico City. Highly recommended to check out before the excellent exhibits finishing on Sep 2.

Took about an hour but I enjoyed myself entirely. The interactive exhibit is currently closed but I was not not at all disappointed, Will be back again. Really clean, floors marked for direction and staff was great. Made for a great afternoon.

What a great addition to the Nashville arts community!! This museum holds some treasures.. I ve visited during many different events and exhibits and all of them have been satisfying and rewarding.. My children love visiting the interactive exhibits on the top floor.. They spend hours creating their own works of art.. And the artwork that they are exposed to through the larger exhibits is just amazing.. Memberships can be expensive if you re not a student, but we always go with the family membership.. It offers us some good options and it gives us a constant source of entertainment and inspiration throughout the year.. If you haven t stopped into the Frist yet, do yourself a favor and check it out!!

Absolute gem of Nashville. Every rotating exhibit steals the show from all the other local galleries and has some of the biggest names showing her.

From dali to to Frida kahlo, I have gotten to see some wonderful art here.

Finally, they also give a spotlight to local artists that helps to bridge the missions of these great masters with the evolving state of Nashville as a city to create a reflective atmosphere that helps us reflect on the current time and age.

I'm also a proud member since o can get guest passes, not to mention the decreased price of parking has already paid for the membership

The museum is already fairly small, but most of the exhibits were also closed. This would be fine, but there are really only two pieces of interest here - the American flag exhibit and the Ghandi letter smoke projection. However, the museum still charges full price - $15 per adult over 18 and special rates for seniors. Having gone to the Smithsonian just a few months ago, the experience was so much better and it was completely free, so this leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

A must visit, we saw 1900 Paris Fair and Do Ho Shu's presentation of his NYC Apartment. 3 D life size appliances made of see through material and fine wire with all the detail of inside plumbing mechanism.

Always have great exhibits. However, disabled parking is HORRIBLE and so is disabled access into the building. They count on the few handicaped parking spots that are actually for the Federal Court building. They have some handicaped parking in their parking lot, behind the museum. However they are NOT close and you have to cross a busy drive through area to cross over to the museum. Begged them for years to add some parking that is actually near the rear entrance. The few spots on the opposite side from the Federal Court, are actually from the Post Office inside the Frist building. From those spots, there is no handicaped entrance to the museum, unless you want to walk around to the other side to avoid steps.

I might have been expecting a little more from this than I got. Houses a few very nice art pieces. The majority of what I saw just wasn't for my taste. I did enjoy going upstairs and getting to create my own art though.

The Museum is great! Really beautiful exhibits and architecture! The interactive section upstairs is fun for all ages. Parking is expensive if you don't get one of the discount tickets from the tickets counter at the museum.

There are two levels of exhibit/gallery. Not huge the but paintings are nice. The interactive room for kids is fantastic. You can explore colors, patterns, the physics of animation and so on.

Exquisite displays, very nice docents, and fun gift shop. Whether you take advantage of the guided tours in person, or from the audio app, or decide to wander around aimlessly by yourself . What a bargain for the price of admission!

This was a cool little exhibit, and we got free tickets by just bringing our room keys from a nearby hotel. If you have some time to kill in Nashville this is good for at least half an hour of entertainment.

Honestly this place is great. I was here for the Mexican art exhibit that featured Frida Kahlo and it was curated superbly. We were taken on a free tour by an excellent docent who kept me pretty captivated. Just and incredible collection and a wonderful museum.

It was fresh in there. We went for the Frida Kahlo exhibit. It was beautiful. Had to hold back tears. I was so emotional. Purchased a few items from the gift shop. I would definitely go again.

Excellent art museum with rotating exhibits. The art deco cars exhibition in 2013 was an amazing, one-of-a-kind experience. Great mix of national-level artists and local/regional. They keep it interesting. The annual family pass is a bargain.

One of the poorer art museums I've been to. Had 3 exhibits when I was there, contemporary artists, an exhibition on Australian Aboriginal art, and a smaller hallway exhibit for local digital media art. Very niche exhibits, lots of security, not the best collection. The Australian paintings we're interesting, but that was like 1/2 of the whole museum and got repetitive.

Wonderful museum. The exhibitions are always beautifully done and so interesting. We re really lucky to have a place that brings such fine art and photography to Nashville. Wonderful live music, as well.
