I really enjoyed the nick cave exhibit! The WWI exhibit was also very interesting and it really made me sympathize with the people who went through that. Also, it is free if you are 18 and under, which I am a big fan of. Overall, super cool way to spend an hour or two.

My husband and I come here every time we make a trip to Nashville. Each exhibit is unique and intriguing. The museum is always clean and staff are kind and willing to answer any questions.

The First Center for the Arts us a wonderful place to see. The art work is amazing and exquisitely beautiful. There is a children's area for kids ages 12 and under to express themselves in creating a design; building, and drawing. There is a very nice cafe the food and desserts a scrumptious.

They have new exhibits every once in a while along with permanent ones. Fun thing to do on the weekends when you have time to spare. One thing that can be kind of annoying is that it's easy to get lost in there. Not enough signage. But otherwise it's amazing.

Sorely disappointed. I expect an art museum to have more than 2 exhibits, and a hall of local art. While what I saw was amazing, and showed the extreme talent of the artists, the fact that there is nothing else was upsetting for the price of admission AND parking. I will say that the art deco style of the building was more impressive than the institution itself, which furthers my point.

I wish this place could fit more than a couple exhibits. The staff we interacted with were beyond friendly. I also wish there were exhibit pamphlets (maybe there were and I just missed them). Over-all had a great experience because, you know, art. Parking was fine. Also, the tour guide that was roaming was British adding an extra cheesy umph .

Clean with friendly staff. Very small with just one exhibit. Some hands on things for kids but really only occupied us for about 30 minutes total. $12 each was affordable, but probably still not worth it.

The architecture of this building is beauty. The art of the building itself almost prepares you for the whole separate beauty of the art exhibits! The food here is really tasty and it's such a great and quiet museum space. 10/10

The building is very nice and clean. But that s overall the most I can say about my experience.

The entire first floor was being redesigned for an upcoming exhibit, which means that the entire first floor was closed down. The second floor was completely open, and set up nice. But the entire museum took us around 15 minutes to go through the entire thing. We paid $45 total in tickets, for 15 minutes of our time.

Seeing some originals by some of the most famous artist in history was very cool! But the amount we paid vs how much we were able to see and how fast we went through it, was very disappointing.

This museum needs to be free to go through. There are much better ones around town that offer way, way more that have no admission price. If there has to be a price attached to this, it needs to be much lower. ESPECIALLY if the entire first floor is closed down.

The Frist is amazing. From the stripped classicism art deco to the cute kids interactive learning, this place is worth every penny. Head over to see the exhibits, provocative and thought provoking though they may be, and sit a while in the cafe. Then, if you get a chance, visit the awesome gift shop full of pertinent gifts to the exhibits.

I went to this museum for the Paris 1900 exhibition. It was beautifully done. While the museum is small, the first floor space is utilized to the utmost max. However, even though the security says you don t need the parking validated, they are wrong; the parking rates are drastically different whether or not your ticket is validated.

Love the architecture of this converted post office. The main exhibit was a performance piece by an Icelandic musician named Ragnar. It was amazing! The staff was polite, courteous, and helpful!

Way too small to be taken seriously. One exhibition was taken down and there was absolutely nothing to replace it with immediately. For a city that has grown quite a bit, Our museums and art galleries need work.

It's a nice looking building, don't get me wrong. It's just too small to have a real museum experience.

Friendly workers. Decent food. Not a real museum experience.

Beautiful space. A bit strange that a city of Nashville's size doesn't have an Art Museum with a permanent collection. The shows were well curated and the space is really supportive of a variety of set ups.

Loved the interactive aspect with the app/audio tour. Because we are Bank of America account holders, we were able to go free the 1st weekend of the month. Great experience!!

The Frist has, among other exhibits, one celebrating the 50th anniversary of Eric Carle's "The Very Hungry Caterpillar ". If you've ever read the book, this is a must see exhibit. Examples from many of his books, video of Mr Carle reading the book and descriptions of the various techniques used are just some of the highlights of your visit. Well worth the price (15 for non members), especially for kids and kids at heart.

The Frida exhibit is a MUST!! The museum is fairly small compared to museums in bigger cities. There s reasonable parking available behind the building, just be sure to get the voucher when buying your ticket. The gift shop is a decent size. The Frist is a great way to spend a couple hours away from the more touristy parts of Nashville.
