I enlisted the help of Friday Professional Group to assist with my job search. Jenny checked in with me on a regular basis and when a job came up that suited my profile she reached out to me immediately to gauge my interest. From the initial introductions to the negotiations with the company on my behalf, Jenny displayed the utmost professionalism. Needless to say, I am now employed and still receive monthly check ins from FPG...not to mention a beautiful vase of flowers within the first few days of starting. Thank you FPG, but most of all, thank you Jenny!

Working with Friday Professional Group has been a great experience for me. The recruiters helped place me within a short period of time after my interview. They have been very diligent in calling me with other assignment opportunities at the end of each of my assignments. The recruiters I have worked with have been very friendly and up-beat, and knew where I would be a good fit. The assignments I have taken thus far have been a great fit for me, as well as a learning experience. I have enjoyed all the positions I have worked for, for Friday. I look forward to continuing working with them in the future.

While it took awhile to find a posting that was suited to me, once they placed me, it was a great fit and I chose to stay on at the company permanently! I attribute the time taken to find me a position was due to the slow job market more than anything else.

My experience with Friday has been awesome. I have worked with several recruiting firms and Friday has surpassed them all by miles. As the previous commentator has mentioned, recruiting companies are not always the best and there are some I wouldn't approach with a barge pole.

I have, however, used Friday Professional Group's services for the past 3 years and I am delighted with the service they have offered me. Half my current team were hired through Friday and they have always gone above and beyond.

A company is only as good as its people and I would like to especially mention the work that Jason (Jay) Boyd does at Friday - he is a great motivator and team lead and he conveys his enthusiasm for his company to all the recruiters. In addition to this, he stays in touch with his clients to make sure we are happy with the service we are getting and will step in and get things fixed when we hit a snag somewhere.

Friday Professional are a definitely a cut above the rest.

Used to be a great company to work with but maybe with the economy tanking their level of service has gone downhill. Much better agencies that are professional in their work ethic. High turnover in recruiters. In one year I've had at least three. Two went to work for other job agencies...and I don't blame them.

Friday has been a great company to work for. I started with them during summer break before my last year of university. A few years later when I went to grad school they welcomed me back during my school breaks and made me feel like a valued member of the team. The recruiters worked with me to find the best assignments to work around my job search and genuinely were happy for me when I interviewed for and was offered a job in my field. I would recommend this agency to both prospective temps and to clients.

During my contract with Friday Group I have been given interesting assignments with great companies. Not only did they give me a job just for the sake of me having an assignment, but they really go out of their way to find me a job based on my wish list , a job that suits me and enjoy doing. I did not have an Accounting experience here in Canada, but when I said my wish is to be able to find an Accounting job in order for me to perform what I love do , that is Accounting, they really tried to find me an Accounting job. Are they not amazing?

My professional recruiter (Jenny), has been very generous of her time in keeping in touch, asking me how am I doing with my placement, which make me feel special and important. She is always very helpful, and upright at finding a position that suits me. Without them, I would not be able to find success in my newfound career.

This company is amazing at recognizing your talents and finding opportunities that suit who you are as an individual. Every team member at Friday is on board with their mission, and the interactions you will have with the staff are genuine and enjoyable.

Whether you don't know what you want to do for a career, or are looking for a higher placement in your field, I would recommend using Friday Professional Group. You will be introduced to their team that will provide an exceptional level of service on both a personal and professional level. My own experience was great throughout the entire process, and Friday continues to keep in contact with me 1 month after starting my new job.

These people are the worst on earth, ESPECIALLY ones that recruit for contract work but ESPECIALLY ones that recruit for IT contract work.
These are people who literally search job sites for CVs, download every CV updated that week, ctrl+f and type in a keyword the job spec they have in front of them has.
They then spend their day bothering the people on this list because ONE word matched up, they almost NEVER know anything about IT and just assume that any CV with the word "Citrix" in it means something.

Then, when they find a person who actually DOES match the description (or at least one they can hard sell to an employer who needs support in short order) They tell them the below:

I've got an Opportunity with a client in <place> doing <job> They're offering <less than 50% of what they're offering> per hour.
Usually you'll be told half of the hourly rate, because the money goes through the agency before it gets to you. I've worked for $245.89 a day when the client was paying $393, the other $211 goes to the person who recruited you.
Should you try to negotiate up, they will "get back to you" and either not get back to you, or negotiate up maybe 10% and tell you "That's the most the client is willing to offer".

Once you start the job they will be extremely unhelpful and lazy (because the money goes through them you will often have to chase them to release payment or be paid late, or both), they won't have thought to sort it out in advance because they were busy chasing MORE people for MORE revenue).

They won't think twice about not telling you exactly how to provide them timesheets, they might have an online time entry system that they don't provide you a login for, or it may need to also be verified with a paper time sheet, one you have to Fax, because everyone still owns a fax.

The absolute worst thing about these greedy people is that for many IT graduates, they are their gateway to a first role in IT. I had to do a good 18 months of experience in contracting to get a permanent job (Which I started as a contractor....being paid LESS than I get paid as permanent staff).

There are a few good ones and a few good things. A good recruitment consultant will get you a higher starting salary (because he gets a payment equivalent to a percentage of your first year salary). Some of these people are genuinely nice, clued in types too, but the majority of them are vultures.

Detailed, in-depth pre-screening kept me away from job offers I wouldn't be interested in. The Recruiters and Business Development Managers were very friendly, but dug deep, gave me great advise on how to market myself effectively, and really seemed to have an investment in seeing me find employment. The first interview that I was sent to turned out to be the company I definitely was interested in, and I've now been there for nearly 3 months, enjoying every day. My employer and I both think that FPG is a truly effective way to find the right person and put them in the right position.
Even after the employer and I connected, Friday Group stayed involved, negotiated effectively on my behalf (better than I would have done for myself) and ensured that every detail was handled.
I have recommended FPG to every one of my friends, job seekers and employers alike.
