This is an awesome place to find unique things in the district. There is everything from food to custom art, and handmade soaps. If you are looking a cool place to take a date and discover Washington DC. This is the place to do it. dont miss the opportunity if your visiting to check out the market. You'll definitely find something better than the museums.

One of my favorite places in the city. A combination farmers market and open-air flea market, it is a great place to pick up supplies for Sunday dinner and an artistic addition to your apartment all while enjoying great people watching. Great for a date or just a chill weekend with friends.

A fascinating spot in busy DC, you'll appreciate the "farmer's market" feel of this special place. An outdoor space houses booths selling a variety of fruit, vegetable, and wares. An indoor space features multiple meat, deli, and baked goods counters and a space for other vendors, too. The prices are not cheap, but they're not awful either.

Definitely great if you re looking for some fresh produce or meats. We ended up getting breakfast at the little diner like place and our food was delicious! It was a little bit crowded but definitely worth a visit to shop around the vendors.

Love this place. Various vendors with many interesting artifacts. Food at market is good and street is filled with lots of fresh vegetables, fruits and flowers. Plus, there are many restaurants along the sides of the road where open market is going on. Enjoyed the random musicians playing different instruments as well.

Love eastern markets farmers market! Street shuts down on Sundays and you can explore many different stands. Inside the market has vendors that are typically the same all the time. Outside there is food, artists, music, and coffee stands! Definitely should check it out

A little hidden jewel if you're looking for fresh produce in DC. We spent a couple of days in the capital visiting and didn't know about this place. We were pleasantly surprised for their variety and freshness.

The best place in town to spent weekend mornings. Great (but often to expensive) fruits and vegetables (with lots of samples available:). I would recommend cheese store inside of the market as they have amazing diversity of cheeses from around the world and they have patience to explain differences to you and gave you some samples. While you are there do not miss to check Capitol Hill books bookstore at C street.

On winter weekdays everything is indoors and you can only buy food here. But it's great food -- fabulous cheese, great butchers, fresh fish, great-looking bakery, vegetables, and a cafe. When we were there, there was a long line of strollers waiting for a kids' event in an adjoining space.

I crossed town from silver spring on the metro just to visit this place.
If you are not a foodie you may not get the fuss. The market is mainly indoors with a number of stalls outdoors.
Some craft stalls, some vintage clothes, fruit and veg but mainly food. Good quality food. Lovely meat, bread, cakes, fish, cheese, prepared pasta. Really good quality food. Spent a morning talking to the stall holders and trying various things.
Would definitely go back.

Nice place to stroll through and see what the 2 1/2 blocks of vendors are selling. Be sure to step inside the building to see the rest of the market. Also, that's where the bathroom is which is scarce in this part of the city. Barracks Row is another leg away to stroll up and down. Plenty of food choices between Eastern Market and Barracks Row, as well as a place to sip a beer or coffee outside and people watch. Eastern Market is its own stop on metro's blue, silver, and orange line.

Overall decent experience. Lots of different vendors and decent selection of food. There was one guy selling some amazing paella outside. I would come back here just for the paella, not so much for the other aspects of the market.

This place has really changed! There are a lot of new buildings and businesses in the area. I did not get a chance to go inside the market to see what was inside, but I will be going back.

One thing I don't like about this area is the sidewalks. The sidewalk is made of bricks that are loose, uneven, or missing. I always seems to lose my balance when walking in this area of town.

But despite the sidewalks, the area looks good!

There is a new apartment building for active adults, Trader Joe, and some eateries. I love Trader Joe!

This place has everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to dresses African Arts, Jewelry, free books, everything under the sun! Eastern Market has so many different restaurants and brunch places and coffee places that you could pretty much have your pick of different cuisines by just walking across the street. This really is a treasure and everyone should try and visit at least five times!

I always love to visit Eastern Market and enjoy the unique crafts offered by the various vendors, along with live music, fresh produce, and tasty fresh food options. There are also plentiful surrounding shops and restaurants as well. You'll definitely find something you love! Parking can be scarce so Metro access is highly recommended.

If you are anywhere near here on Saturdays or Sundays then you should make it a point to come to the market. Tons of vendors each with unique items. From art to bread to dog collars to floral arrangements and even meat, the market is such a staple for Capitol Hill.

Going to Eastern Market on Saturday/Sunday morning is a great way to start the day. My go to breakfast is the El Piquin breakfast burrito. Adding a limaide to that makes for a tasty meal. There are some many little stands to shop around too.

Eastern market is a weekend tradition. Get up, run the mall, then to eastern market for brunch and produce for the week. Don't forget to grab some fresh crab meat from inside. It is the best in the area, without a doubt.
