This absolutely stunning park and facility is full of gorgeous plants from all over. From exhibits showcasing plants from desert regions, to tropical paradise, Frederik Meijer Gardens is an excellent way to spend a beautiful day or date night.
The sculptures and art galleries are another way the gardens cater to all. Featuring works brinn prominent global and local artists, the galleries and sculpture park have some of the coolest and most beautiful artwork in the area and state.
It certainly was very pretty inside. Saw some beautiful plants, caterpillars, butterflies & cocoons of all sizes! I was hoping for more butterflies, but u can't rush those. Here is a few pics of the cocoons, plants & what the butterflies eat....
Awesome concert series and the gardens and sculpture park are always a good way to spend a day. I do wish they had better hours for working people.
Saw the Ai Wei Wei exhibition, saw the butterflies. Thumbs up all around :)
Visited while passing through Grand Rapids. Our 12 yr old loved both the indoor and outdoor areas that we visited. Our 6 yr old could have spent most of the day in the children's garden. We visited on a beautiful summer day that was perfect for garden viewing. We loved everything that we saw.
Traveled 3 hours to see a personal favorite, and had an terrible time. Rude staff, constantly moved around when it s GA admission, paid over $100 for a ticket since the SMALL venue was sold out for a band that had such a high demand, and ended up being stuck back in the corner not being able to see anything even though I arrived 30 minutes before gates opened. My original spot was 4 rows from the front, in the middle, and then as told I couldn t sit there and was rudely shoved out. 1/10 experience, never visiting again.
A lovely place for a ages. Very knowledgable volunteers. Beautiful variety of settings and sculptures!
The Japanese garden is my favorite, but the highlight of our visit was watching my 11 month old granddaughter to lay in the great lakes water feature in the children's garden. Love my membership!
Beautiful grounds and facilities. They are building a lot of new things right now too.
It's a must do thing if you are at Grand Rapids area. Can't miss it.
Beautiful Christmas decorations and kids loves the train
A wonderful place to spend your morning or afternoon.
Great place for kids including those of pensionable age ;)
Wonderful place to visit with the kids. So much to see and do, we didn't get to see it all. We will be visiting again, I can't wait until the new welcome center is completed.
Beautiful gardens including sculptures, a tropical greenhouse, an outdoor amphitheater, children's outdoor discovery area, snack bar, restaurant and gift shop, wheelchair accessible.
Way too much to do for one visit! Lots of exhibits and attractions for couples and families to enjoy. There is a massive children's area with plenty of interaction! A must see place!
The butterflies were amazing as always along with each of the other exhibits!
Absolutely an amazing experience. Definitely a must see a trip to the Grand Rapids.
Love this place. The outdoor Children's area is fantastic, along with the sculpture park, Japanese gardens, and shows at the amphitheater. Great day trip for the whole family.
Enjoyed walking the gardens. They have a wonderful children's area also.
Outstanding sculpture park! Great art and easy to get around with a stroller. A must stop in Western Michigan. And the Serra is great... As per usual.
This place worth a quick couple hour drive. An amazing gem in the the State of Michigan right outside the Grand Rapids area! Perfect for the family! Bring comfortable shoes!!
Loved seeing the faces of all the kids especially if a butterfly landed on them
Very good place to spend a day out n have fun with kids. It is also an educational tour for kids
Lovely every time we go which is rare since it is pricey. I wish it was more affordable! It's fun once or twice a year though, more than that and I get bored. The gift shop is pretty fun but also expensive.
Lots of construction going on in the front entrance area but the gardens are not affected. This is a great place to spend the whole day at especially if you enjoy the beauty of nature and art. Even their cafe inside is beautiful.
Butterflies are in!!! Kids had fun, great weather inside and outside!!
Its a mess going in, long walk thru mud and trip hazards. No shuttle.
Stellar venue for concerts and exhibits, including the butterfly exhibit at the Gardens.
A nice place but I was there for my Brother his Wife Passed and we had a Gathering for Family & Friend's
Great place to visit. Countless things to see and do!
Proud to have this in Grand Rapids. Such a beautiful place and they are making it even bigger.
Grandchildren had a marvelous time. Absolutely stunning sculptures and gardens.
I go here a Lot with special needs folks who use walkers and wheelchairs and we always find something new and interesting Every time! No matter what the weather is outside! I can't wait to see the new addition completed and hopefully I won't have such a long way to push the wheelchairs!
Beautiful place! Wheelchair friendly for my kiddo. Loved all the gardens and especially the butterfly gardens. Would love to go back again soon!
Great place to take relaxing walks and enjoy art and landscaping
I appreciated the names of different plants since I was unsure of some.
A bit pricey and the ticket staff is a bit pretentious. However, it is beautiful and the sculptors are incredible. Saw the same sculptor in DC.
Wide open spaces and lots of interesting sculptures to view. Even the amphitheatre was neat to see for me.
With the construction going on the is about 1/4 mile walk from the parking lot to the building.
A beautiful venue with great acts. The only thing is it is hard to get tickets if you aren't a member.
This a beautiful and fun! It is also a good place to learn about many different types of plants! It also has lots of beautiful sclopshers!
We love taking the kids here, especially for the butterfly exhibit.
Always a treat! Always something new to see. However be cautioned of the construction currently going on, it's a little trickier to get around so give yourself extra time.
Beautiful all year round love having a membership here
Fantastic place to spend a day. Don't be bothered by the construction because once you are inside it's not an issue.
The gardens are amazing, especially the Japanese garden which is right acres of beauty. The indoor exhibits, especially the tropical plants room are also worth walking through and being amazed at the variety of interesting plants in the collection.
A real Hidden Gem that you need a full day to go through it has everything from succulents to Botanicals and the outdoor Gardens are massive and quite beautiful
Fantastic. The Japanese Garden is the most amazing part of botanicals. The Big Horse is the difference for sculptures.
Beautiful gardens, very nice conservatory, tons of events all year!
We go every spring to see the Butterflies! The butterfly room is beautiful, but get there early, the line get long and the wait to get into the butterfly exhibit can get insane! Our kids love the children's garden. A wonderful place to spend a spring day!
This place is fantastic! The grounds are beautiful with all different areas, such as the boardwalk and the many trails. There are tons of sculptures to see, and the amphitheater is a great place for concerts. Definitely 2 thumbs way up!
This was an adventure for an unexpectedly warm weekend in February with my partner and their family. Coming in, an employee offered us 2 free student price tickets for my partner and me, evidence that the employees go above and beyond regarding customer service. No hindrance to the beauty of the sculpture gardens, the pond was still iced over in most places. Since the last time I've been here, a new pond and trail were instilled, and the garden just keeps improving every time. The gift shop was full of cute children's educational resources, pottery, and thick, comprehensive readings aimed towards the graduate level. There is something for everyone; make sure you remember to bring your camera.
