This is always a good family fun and educational place. One place I will always being my kids if asked. They also have great adult times like the concerts in the summer. We love it here.

Absolute best place to see a summer concert in West Michigan. I go multiple times a summer and have never been disappointed.
Awesome! Always a great place to visit. The recreations of the city buildings and the trees from different countries were beautiful.
Super nice and friendly staff,we enjoyed our visit and we loved the Japanese Garden,so beautiful
There is a lot to see at the gardens. The butterfly room is especially popular.
Awesome place that will take you all day long to hang in Grand Rapids.
Very spacious and well planned public garden and conference facilities. Liked the infrastructure and facilities.
Not kid friendly needs a rating due to some material is R rated
My family loves this place. It makes for a nice getaway even for a couple hours.
Beautiful garden to go to with diverse garden spaces. Only issue is the higher price for admission, which could be lowered due to the fact that other nature preserves in the area are free to a couple of dollars.
Brought my extended family here that was in from out of town. Gave us something fun and interesting to do for the entire day. And there was something there for almost every age!
Pricy for a big family, but a great way to spend a day.
My favorite concert venue outside of The Gorge and Redrocks. It's very clean, well organized and has great acoustics.
Artistic, Tranquil, and the embodiment of Nature's Beauty.
Cool place to take the kids for an afternoon. Lots to see!
This is an exceptional experience in Grand Rapids Michigan!! They have art and nature masterpieces. The butterfly exhibit runs from March 1-April 30. 7,000 butterflies with 60 different species. I had a black sweater with yellow and a butterfly landed on me-pretty cool! Easy off and on expressway & fair prices.
Need more parking! But that's good, its busy because it's awesome:)
This is a great place to visit! Looks pretty, smells great and educational for kids and adults.
Spectacular sculpture and park. The Japanese Tea house is only open a few days of the year and that s sad but everything else is wonderful
Very nice place. I attended a wedding here and it was absolutely lovely. The staff were very helpful and genuinely nice. The gardens were beautiful.
Very pretty park especially with the statues and well worth the entry fee. As I understand they also get new exhibits from time to time also and they were under construction. Just a fair warning you have no less than 3 miles of walking if you don't want to pay for the tram. I'm putting them at 4 stars because though I appreciated the place and had a nice afternoon it wasn't astounding. Btw this place is good for kids
Staff was friendly and encouraging of my daughter I creativity. We had a great day!
Visited the Butterflies in bloom at FMG. It was wonderful. The staff were also really helpful and knowledgeable.
One of the most beautiful place created by human I've ever seen. You started in gardens of rear and unique plants, there are real tropical climate indoors. Then you proceed outside where you can face spellbinding lakes, waterfalls, plants and sculptures . Everything is so nice, all infrastructure is perfect - restrooms, drinking water, big parking and so on. Relatively chip entering prices, as for 2019 It's only 14.50$ for adult, discounts for children, students and seniors. I recommend this place for everyone who wants to feel aesthetic satisfaction.
I love this place, calm and quiet, friendly staff. Everything is beautiful, well cared for and in its proper place.
There is always something new and informative. We love the butterflies
Beautiful place, but kind of
tore up with construction going on
The childrens garden was fantastic. We spent several hours walking around. 5 year old to 16 year old were entertained. We had a beautiful day to enjoy a beautiful park.
Awesome place for family time. Butterflies are the best!
Absolutely love coming here. There is something for the entire family.
Wonderful activity with friends. Friendly staff. If you are a member of another botanical garden you may be admitted free.
Awesome blend of nature , art , different cultures . Walking through the park is kind of therapy. Awesome place . Best place for growing kids .
Great place to take the kids there is loads of activities to fill a day plus!
The outdoor gardens are beautiful and extremely pleasant, but the indoor gardens/greenhouses are especially welcome during the middle of the Michigan winter.
I am putting building up for temporary entrance it's frederik Meyer gardens is a beautiful place my family visits in the summer it has beautiful exibits and there are many great people who volenteer their time into keeping the place beautiful and up to date
Great place to see a show, see something new. Exhibits are always changing.
Lovely place. We spent the day with our family and now we have more precious memories.
I love scenery so this was definitely a place that I would love. I went to the Japanese Garden and the Tropical Garden
We loved it So magical walking in the butterfly room!
I had my first date with my husband here. I love this place. There's always something beautiful to see here. A large nature sanctuary including both indoor and outdoor gardens, and artwork. Wide paved paths are well maintained and kept clear, even in winter. There are live concerts held here as well.
Super cool garden! Much more than just flowers and plants. Under a lot of construction now because they're expanding
My kids love this place. If you're from the area a membership really is the best way to go. There's always something to see year round. From butterflies in the spring to Christmas traditions from around the world in the winter you won't be disappointed.
There is so much to see here! You will be here for hours! They have tons of sculptures, a butteryfly garden, zen area, children's play area, farmhouse exhibit, waterfalls, etc
Lovely place for a walk with your son... on your birthday. Even saw a beaver.
Definitely one of the must visit places in Grand Rapids. This place is stunning, and you likely won t be able to see it all in one day. Spend an afternoon walking through the gardens or checking out the sculptures, it s quite an enjoyable place.
beautiful place. gardens are stunning and so many interesting sculptures to see. dont miss this place!!!
The new Japanese garden is an excellent addition to an already great place. Wandering the gardens on a summer Tuesday evening and finishing at the amphitheater for a few hours of live music can make your whole week.
Always lifts my spirits to visit the beautiful gardens, sculptures, and art displays. We went for a lecture by David Culp that was fantastic and chocked full of dreamy ideas for layering a garden to achieve interest and color in every season. The summer concerts are also full of good energy, and some of the best artists in a green venue.
Beautiful botanical garden. Very much to see, sculpture. Japanese Garden, historical farm, pond with waterfalls, children's garden, arboretum, restaurant and many individual gardens.
Had a great day..weather wise to visit. .very busy, lots of people there to see the butterfly exhibit.
Long line to wind around and wait to get admission tickets, and then to get in the conservatory. .but went pretty quickly..many varieties of cactus plants, and then in the next room was beautiful colorful flowers. .even some with tiny butterfly larvae in the leaves , fun for kids to spot. .nice nature, walk, kids had fun things to do in the children's area..very enjoyable day..clean restrooms, and benches to sit..if you make it all around the nature walk you are rewarded with 2 fantastic waterfalls and peaceful area to just relax.
Beautiful to visit on a sunny day. Lots of walking, but worth the walk.
It'sxa very long walk once you oark due to construction. Golf cart shuttles for the handicapped would be immensely helpful.
Great venue for an outdoor concert. Just have to be mindful of the chair height restrictions set by the regulations.
They've been expanding the list of attractions, since my last visit over 10 years ago. We only had a couple hours until closing time, so were a bit rushed. Next time I'd like to take at least a half-day. There's a lot to see; if you want to enjoy it, allow enough time for the experience. The Japanese Garden was excellent!
Stunningly beautiful on most days, but exceptional in the fall.
Awesome butterfly gardens, botanicals, farm, Japanese garden and huge statue gardens as well. Gotta see to believe!
Why are the views from the tram blocked by over grown branches and tram paths not trimmed so that walking passengers can pass safely. There is not enough cleared paths on the sides when the tram and passengers are on the path. This is a danger to passengers especially with children in strollers and wheelchairs. Also there are many branches overhanging that enter the tram and can cause riders eye injury at some points. Please trim branches and make more clearance to prevent any injuries. Some railings need to be painted due to rust and look unkept.
First time going here was amazing. All of the gardens were well taken care of and awesome to look at. There is a lot to see.
Over rated and over priced!! I wasn't impressed with the conservatory. It's to small and needs to be expanded. Other cities have a bigger one and more things to see... The butterflys are blooming is rip;off!!!
My family and I had a wonderful time. There is so much to see see. The grounds were kept very near and tidy. Very reasonably priced.
Beautiful area. The paths, art, plants, and Christmas trees were all awesome.
Absolutely beautiful...plan to return this summer!!
My wife and I never thought we would spend so much time at someplace to enjoy everything it has to offer. Give yourself at least 4 hours to really enjoy it. If you want to do just EITHER the Japanese garden or sculpture park, then just allow for 2 hours per area. Conservatory and guest art area is nice. The kids area is so large it could be its own park compared to some places, but as an adult you can skip it unless you are a kid at heart. I'd leave it for the end if you have extra time to burn. This place is well worth the admission!
