The indoor gardens are beautifully designed, displayed, and tended. But it's the outdoor space which our family loves so much, especially the Japanese Tea Garden. Our kids are 8 and 6, and they have no difficulty connecting to the beauty of the sculpture and arboretum.

Great place to visit - so interesting with all the different seasonal displays. Great for spending the day or afternoon walking around. Can't wait to see the new gardens that have been under construction. Also a lovely place for a wedding with friendly and professional staff. We got married there in March and the staff worked it out so we could take photos in the butterfly exhibit. They were on top of everything and extremely prompt and responsive with reasonable rates and so many options.

Very nice place. The butterfly house was the greatest asset just wish it wax even larger to accommodate all the people. Kids loved this area. As well kids liked the kids sculpture park which seemed to be well used. Sadly the farm was not well attended despite it being very nice. The only disappointment was the windmill. They could have used one once made in Kalamazoo but they did not. It will be interesting to go back after the renovations are complete.

One of the best places to relax and enjoy the Sculptures and Nature in a pleasant, self paced, and always different experience. There's always something to discover at Frederik Meijer Gardens!

Was able to spend the day checking out the botanical gardens and the sculpture garden. For a small fee, a ride and guide take you for approximately 45 minute around most of the sculpture garden. Walking allows you to see all of the sculptures, and different POV much like the artist intended. There's enough to keep children interested while you are there, plus food or snacks to stave hunger. Price is for the day allowing one to go to the vehicle w/out repaying, on the bad side extremely busy meaning the early bird gets the best parking spot. Enjoy

Beautiful everywhere you look.

Beautiful everywhere you look.
COVID19 cautious, with hand sanitizer everywhere INDOORS ONLY!
Bring your mask,!!!!!
And your own hand sanitizer for out doors, you will touch bridges, hand rails etc. . . Or miss most the park.

Beautiful gardens, especially the Japanese gardens. A great places to let the kids play, in the children's area. Also great food in the restaurant. I would recommend bringing your whole family and spending the day here.

I've visited many times & I love it! The sculptures, children's garden, etc. are wonderful. My favorite is the butterfly room! Dress in a bright shirt & enter a world of butterfly wonder (1st week of April is the best time for seeing them). Can't wait to take my granddaughter!

I've been here before for the butterfly exhibit in the spring. Our visit this time was for the display of the world Christmas tree displays. The displays were nicely done and the exhibits in other parts of the building were changed out from this past spring. I was expecting the trees to all be together in one room, but instead they were spread out throughout the building, which was nice. It was also nice that each tree had the country it was inspired by and a little bit of that nations traditions for Christmas. I think the kid in me enjoyed the train room the best. It was neat to see miniature buildings from around the Grand Rapids area. The broken glass exhibit was really neat too. Everything in the display was made completely out of glass.

Overall I like the gardens and feel that you could visit once a season and each time would be different.

There's something for everyone here. Visited late august and loved all the blooms (pollen allergies beware. Come ready with with an antihistamine). The statues were a really nice touch and loved the greenhouse portion as much as the outdoor portion. Wished the gift shop stayed open just a little longer as everyone filters out of the garden, missed it by 1 minute.

This place is fantastic. Great for the whole family, especially now with the Christmas decor and the Christmas train garden. During the summer is when this place is the best. A must visit.

Definitely worth a membership. The gift shop and cafe are accessible to the general public without a membership. The cafe's menu changes frequently and focuses on local food - there's always something great. Frequent classes and events make it worth keeping up to date on what's coming. On pleasant days there's probably miles of paths and outdoor gardens to see, and on snowy, hot, or rainy days there are several gardens to see inside. Internationally- and domestically-sourced sculptures dot the grounds, including two custom Dale Chihuly glass installations.

Was so disappointed, our kids were taking us there as part of our Christmas and when we arrived, parked and went inside we were informed it was closed for a private wedding and reception. Would have been nice if it had been posted on web site and signs at entrance to parking, our 4 year old granddaughter was very sad that she couldn't see the train and show Nana the pretty trees.
Better shared information, please.

Very worth the price.

Very worth the price.
The venue itself is very clean and spacious, lot of places to explore with great stories behind it. This place is ideal for family and young children to discover and play.
It would be great if they offer bike rental on-site since the place is so big. My parent were old so they had a hard time after visiting 1/4 of the place. There was a tour (for $4/person if I remember it right) with vehicle but they did not stop at all location.

This place is lovely. There is art everywhere by various artist from all over the world. These sculptures were carefully chosen and placed in strategic locations for your eyes to behold. We took the trolley, which is a forty-five minute drive around the park ( which I think is much to fast) but it gives you a preview of what is in the park. After we left the trolley, we were able to walk around to the Oriental Gardens and take our time to see what we wanted to see for as long as we wanted to stay. The good thing about walking around is that there is an abundance of benches to take a rest and enjoy the view of where you are sitting.
The fall decorations were beautiful and the attendants there are so pleasant and so helpful. I just wish they offered "go carts" for us senior citizens to ride around in.
I'm planning to go back again next spring

Always an amazing place to go time and time again! It is always so peaceful just walking around breathing the fresh air listening to the birds chirping away. They are always hosting events so somethings bound to peek your fancy. Frederik Meijer Gardens is a great place to bring the family and look at plants from around the world.

It's a great place to walk and see beautiful sculptures and gardens. I visited it in when it was snowing, and the snow accentuated the sculpture. I would like to go again when there is no snow to enjoy the plants,

Wonderful time, even though cold and rainy. I highly recommend the tram ride through the sculpture garden. The guide gave us do much background information on the pieces there. I want to come back on a better day and visit the Japanese garden.

Beautiful and fun outdoor options for adults and little ones. Butterfly exhibit is a must visit.

I'd love to see more indoor options for little ones but the treehouse and water table (shaped as the Great Lakes) are always a hit with my children. Absolutely amazing areas for a nice walk or run with the stroller.

Great statues, great food, great gardens, great everything! The butterfly house is so cool and almost everything has art mixed into it. The prices are low, so it makes a great place to take your family, friends, or even just your self!

Absolutely beautifully manicured gardens and sculpture park. Attended for a wedding and it offered gorgeous scenery for the photos. The staff was very accommodating to the bride and groom. Green house sections for tropical plants, cacti, and carnivorous plants were all very well maintained. Will be visiting again when im back in grand rapids.

So much to see. The gardens and sculptures are beautiful. There are specific areas in the garden just for kids to have fun. Me and my one year old had so much fun. Also should mention there are tons of pokestops if you are a pokemon go player :)
