Fresca Food & Wine is easily one of the best dinning experiences I've ever had. They are very accommodating to food allergies and have one of the most diverse wine lists in all of Boulder. The courses are delicious and always seem to arrive at the perfect time.

Just wow!! The wine was amazing and the outdoor seating was perfect! We went there to end our night and ended up staying for a few hours!! The waiter was extremely friendly and was great with recommendations that matched our preferences to the T. Thank you for a great 30th bday experience!!
Went for a few late cocktails and appetizers. Bar Manager Braden created a truly unique and enjoyable experience at the bar with great conversation and excellent service. The cocktails were deliciously mixed and the appetizers were amazing. Would love to return for a full dinner sometime!
Quite simply, the best restaurant in Colorado. I would venture to say, the best restaurant between Chicago and San Francisco. Wine program, food and impeccable service simply, elegantly, the best.
We've been twice. The first time the food was poor, the second time was a customer service experience so poor we left before eating. I'm sorry we wasted our time with this place.
On the first visit we went in with high hopes based on recommendations. There wasn't anything vegetarian on the menu, but they assured us (when we made the reservation) that they would have no problem whipping something up. What we got was simple penne with tomato sauce - which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but at $100 per person, if you are going to serve something that simple, it has to be perfect. It wasn't - the pasta was slightly overdone and the tomato sauce a bit bland. Basically, something that would have been thoroughly mediocre at a quarter the price, followed by an uninteresting desert.
We went back a few years later after being assured by many people that that was a fluke, and that Frasca was wonderful. Well, sometimes restaurants, even good ones, do have off nights, so we finally decided to go back as a birthday celebration.
45 minutes after our reservation, we gave up and left. During this time we had been told nothing more than 'your table should be ready any minute', had been given nothing but a small bowl of nuts that were too salty to eat, and there turned out to be people who had been there even longer and were receiving similar treatment.
Again, this could just be bad luck, things happen to schedules, but the lack of any estimates as to when we might get in and general poor communications would be unacceptable in a chain restaurant.
As we left they apologized, and when we further expressed our displeasure at multiple bad experiences that point they finally offered to comp us a meal if we came back, which I suppose, if you are feeling generous, you could count to their credit, but giving them a third chance to disappoint us seems like asking a bit much.
Follow up: we received a nice handwritten letter of apology from Frasca. The service while we were there was appalling, and I still have no intention of ever going back, but I have to confess their follow-up has been quite good.
Unforgettable meal! The wait staff went over and above. We had to wait 15 mins for our table and they were so nice and apologetic about it. Amazing experience !! Best food ever!
Warning, this place is very expensive! My husband and I had heard it was good, but were not prepared for the prices on the menu. We decided to stick it out anyway and we expirenced one of the BEST meals I've ever had. Everything was excellently prepared. The staff was helpful and very attentive. There was a free slapsh of wine, a free little appetizer, etc. The bread and butter was amazing! The wine was some of the best I've ever had. We had the course menu and the pasta dish was seriously the best thing I've ever ate. They have wine dinner Monday's which appear to be an excellent deal. Reservations recommended. I can't wait to go back!
Fun Italia atmosphere, Great wine list, loved the fresh garden salad with burrata and grilled wood -oven fired peaches! Seasonal options and pleasing to the senses.
One of the best fine dining experiences in Colorado and our go-to for special occasions. But don't be afraid to check out the bar seating for a glass of wine and an a la carte dish. The bar staff has a way of making even the smallest visit special.
For the price, the food was very sub-par. Several items were overcooked. Inflexible menu meant that there was a major lack of options. Wait staff was overly attentive, to the point of hovering, and frequently entered your space. Manager was very nice when they became aware of our discontent, but that doesn't change the fact that the restaurant is overpriced. Would not return.
My wife and I recently celebrated at Fresca and had a wonderful experience. Our meal was perfectly executed and each glass of wine expertly paired with each dish. All the staff we interacted with were great and made the experience particularly enjoyable and memorable.
This place rightly has the reputation as one of the best places in the area, the food and service are outstanding. I just wish I could afford it more often!
We had a celebration dinner after a family wedding. The place is clean and beautiful. Food was excellent. Service was very attentive and informative and meet all dietary needs for our table. Wines were delicious, duck was prepared perfectly, kitchen provided amuse bouche that was unexpected and delicious and even had special bites for our dairy free and vegan guests. We will be back.
I love the attention to details at Frasca. Every little thing is thought through- food, drinks, service. It makes for such a delightful evening. This was my third time here and by far the best.
Outstanding food with top notch service! You will not have a bad meal at Frasca, and on the off chance that something isn't quite right, talk to you server and they'll have you taken care of before you can snap your fingers. I wish there were more Frascas around the world.
Given the range of reviews, it is clear that Frasca inspires strong feelings of love and awe on one hand and insouciance and sticker shock on the other.
After considerable culinary, oenological and anthropological research conducted by inviting friends to Frasca, I have concluded that a surprising percentage of Americans lack taste buds. But if you have them, the experience of dining at Frasca is worth the price. And if you are on a budget, there's always the prix fixe Monday tasting menu.
Each and every time I leave Frasca, I say to my husband, that was an amazing experience. And that s exactly what it is- a dining experience. From the moment you walk in the door to the moment you leave, the staff will make you feel like you re the only people there. I ve had the tasting menu several times, and while it changes with the availability of ingredients, it has consistently perfect. We re already planning our next visit.
Frasca's staff was friendly and welcoming. We tried a 7 course meal with wine pairings. Rich flavors in the food and wine. It was amazing and a must stop if you are in Boulder.
If you want a fine dining experience, Frasca is a must. The atmosphere was modern, clean, and spacious. The service was fantastic and there was no rock left unturned. The four course tasting menu is a must and the wine menu includes selections that have a wonderful reputation.
My wife loved the great wine selection and the atmosphere is awesome. The food was not our favorite part of the evening. Best in show when it comes to the staff, they are fine tuned working in harmony, like an orchestra!
Outstanding food and outstanding service! The four-course tasting menu was executed to perfection and service was flawless. It was an honor to be poured wine by Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey. Shout-out to Sommelier Jeremy for pairing a great Fiano with our seafood course!
Fantastic service and even better food! Each year my husband and I drive up from Denver to Frascas to enjoy, not only some of the best food in Colorado, but also the theater of the kitchen at the Chefs Table. Such a unique and special experience. The cuisine is unmatched and each and every staff member treats you as their personal guest. I could not say enough of this restaurant.
When I tried to book I could only reserve a table at 5pm or 9.30pm which was the first clue that this place was going to be good. We ate at 5pm and were the first diners to arrive but within 30 minutes almost all tables were occupied. The service was fantastic. An example was as soon as I d finished my bread it was spotted by our very attentive waitress who immediately got her colleague to offer me another piece (for the record I had 4 pieces it was that good). The front of house manageress is the kind of lady who could probably run Amazon while raising 4 kids and spinning plates on each of her fingers all at the same time - this lady was on the ball making sure everything ran seamlessly which it did. As a side note as we thanked her on leaving she insisted we visit the kitchen which was a lovely touch and an opportunity for us to thank the culinary artists.
Upscale fine Italian cuisine. Perfect for special occasions. The greatest wine selection I ve ever seen. And the service will exceed your expectations.
Every once and a while I treat myself to what I think is a high end dining experience. Frasca Food and Wine is leagues above what I've ever had before. The atmosphere was classy and modern, the service was fantastic and the food amazing. If I ever get the chance to return, the top of my list is reserved.
Let me preface this review with a shoutout to our absolute favorite restaurant Tavernetta , which is also their sister restaurant, in Denver. Although the food at Frasca was good I would not call it exceptional. Maybe if the price wasn t $150 per person I would rate it differently. We had heard so many wonderful things about frasca and it did not meet the hype in our opinion. Flavors were interesting but not exceptional. The staff on the other hand was outstanding. They were top notch professionals. Boulder has so many wonderful restaurants that I don t think one needs to pay over $700 for a nice dinner out for 4 people.
Excellent food and great atmosphere. We go there every year for our anniversary. Special shout out to the sommelier Jeremy, who really enhanced our experience!
Ecelctic: Simply one of the best restaruants around, both in terms of service and food. From the breadsticks to the homemade frozen yoghurt, every dish is handled with care and presented with warmt
amazing. just perfect. probably the best restaurant in Colorado. the cocktails were very well balanced. the food is well prepared. the service is spot on.
Always one of the best dining experiences in Colorado. Service, food, and decor well planned and thoughtful. Take advantage of the Monday night wine dinners (a great value considering the cost of the regular menu), where you get one on one contact with some of the most revered producers from around the world.
A little second floor bar above the lobby of the Hotel G, this bar is a great ittle hideaway although we did come on a Friday night and it got pretty busy. Being up off the street lends to the intimacy and nice that only those in the know will come here.
The dining highlight of our last 10 years The food ranges from excellent to transcendent. The service is professionally immaculate but retains a personal touch that few other establishments can boast; making even those of us who could only visit once or twice a year feel like a weekly regular. The highest recommendation for those seeking a truly special meal.
I have eaten at this restaurant several times, and each time it has been a really exceptional and unique experience. I have also eaten at the chef's table, in running shorts and running shoes, with no judgement or different behavior on the part of any of the staff, which is great as they do not have a dress code. The reason this rating is not a 5 stars has nothing to do with Frasca, it is a psychological thing. I would challenge anyone to eat a meal that costs between $5-$20 that they love, then eat a meal that costs FOUR times as much and not be concerned in some way, shape, or form about cost. I don't think ANY food no matter what is worth crazy excessive amounts and while the experience of Frasca is absolutely one of the things you are paying for as well as their amazing wine list and recently James Beard award winning service, but I don't think any food is worth $50+ per plate which is the reason for the overall 4 star. However, each and every employee there is a wealth of information, and the company is a clinic on good management as there are usually a lot of new faces each time I go but the service is always the same stellar quality. I strongly recommend Pizzeria Locale which is located next door, has the same owners, and absolutely comparable food in my opinion for a fraction of the price.
A great experience that I would like to repeat over and over again! Incredible service and amazing food, something I have never tasted before. Great interior, nice atmosphere - everything was just wonderful. I think this is the best restaurant in Denver, so I strongly advise everyone to visit and appreciate all these delicious dishes at least once.
My husband and I dined here on our trip to boulder on a very busy Memorial Day weekend. We happened to get a table and I was so very impressed by everything. The hostess was friendly and happy over the phone, the wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable and happy to have us dining with them. We had a few wine questions and the somm did a great job understanding what we wanted in our price range and delivered a great bottle of wine. We opted for the 4 course, and while the 7 course next to us looked amazing, I was blown away with our meal. The buttoni was top 3 pasta dishes I ve ever had and the steak for 2 was incredible. The crostini from the prosciutto to start were addictively fantastic. My husband and I love trying restaurants around the globe as a hobby of ours and I m telling you this is world class food, wine, and experience. Thank you Frascas for the evening and if you re debating a meal here, you won t regret it.
Bobby and his staff are best in class. 8/2/18 update: Every time i go back to Frasca, they find new ways to up level my dining experience. Again, the food and customer service are second to no one, in any service related industry. A sixth star needs to be added to google for the rare business like Frasca!
What a well executed place. We came for a birthday, the dinning room was well spaced, the staff attentive and respectful and always anticipating needs. Something that really stood out to us: as I got up to use the restroom, the manager noticed my husband alone and stuck a conversation. We thought that was so special....and we then noticed it happened several times with other couples before we left. Of course, the coursed food was outstanding and wine paired perfectly. We can't wait for our next trip.
I was in town and based on hype thought I was lucky to get reservation for their summer brunch. I m not sure if service staff for the brunch is a different group than normal, but service was lacking. I m not sure if it was because I was alone, but it took awhile before a waiter acknowledged I was there, in fact I m not exactly sure who my waiter was today, I had at least 2 which may account for why my drinks were not refilled timely, 1st serving was good, but they brought out wrong meal for 2nd serving (beef selection) and when it came I m not sure if it was supposed to be hot or cold, it was room temp. So bottom line, not good experience, would not go again.
We went to Fresca Food and Wine on 13 March for their Monday Wine Dinner with Hiyu. Our experience was every bit as good as our experiences previously at Michelin-rated restaurants. The ambiance was of an open family room in the friuli style, had tons of space between tables allowing for a feeling of openness and space that is lost in many restaurants. The service was wonderful, being served by the Maitre 'd, the owner (Bobby Stucky), and the owner of Hiyu, Nate at different times, among a variety of wonderful and extremely knowledgeable staff. Our foods were exceptionally prepared - an antipasti of snap peas and potatoes, a primi of rigatoni with maitake mushrooms and creme fraiche, a segued of pork loin served over farro, and completed with a nutella creme in a filo with lemon and raspberry flavors that was absurd. Finally, we had Hiyu's wines that were perfectly complementing each food - and each was so unique as to change your perspective on what wines are supposed to taste like. Its was a night of pure opulence and exciting culinary delight. Please visit this delightful restaurant which caps the Boulder culinary scene.
Great food served in a high brow environment. As always the starters are my favourite, but really the whole menu was good. Very seafood focused, but there are alternatives.
Simply amazing Get a Wagyu It is worth every additional cent. Amazing staff and every dish we had was amazing. We are from out of town and got this place as a gift dinner. 10/10 will return
Frasca does everything right. Definitely a splurge but totally worth it. Frasca is the best restaurant in Boulder with out question. Nothing else comes close. Sit in the Kitchen for a true culinary experience.
The best dining experience of my life. Each course was unlike anything I have ever eaten. The best service I've experienced, incredible knowledge. Get the Polpo and the gnocchi di zucca if they are still on the menu.
The food, service, and drinks at Frasca are always amazing. If you like modern, creative food, then this is the place in Boulder to go. While I think the food at Frasca is very good, I personally don't think that it's worth the money. The presentation and creative use of ingredients are unmatched in Boulder, but the taste is rarely to the same caliber. Pizzaria Locale next door is owned by the same guy, is way more affordable, and in my opinion, tastes even better. Frasca is an experience that locals should have at least once, but for a typical night out I would recommend Pizzaria Locale.
truly lovey 4 course meal. all the dishes had unique and delicious flavors with beautiful presentations. Even on the sidewalk, they managed to create a lovely ambiance. The service was very high quality; our server was very professional and made informed and excellent drink suggestions.
Having lived in San Francisco for four years, I am knocking Frasca as "OK" but absolutely not worth the money. There are two cook books in the men's restroom (oddly enough) that I noticed: Flour and Water and SPQR. These are arguably the best modern Italian places in San Francisco and those which Frasca makes a nod to as peers. They are in a different class of quality of food (especially flour and water) and 1/4 of the price.
While the service and wine selection were 5/5 stars I just cannot get on board with the food for the price point.
IMO Oak is the best restaurant in Boulder right now (and much more reasonable than Frasca's prices).
We have been wanting to try Fresca for a while now and decided to go in for father s day with our family.. although they don t have a kids menu our girls had the best time! Our waiter was wonderful and gave us some yummy options for them. The food and service is is one of the best I have ever experienced! From the beginning to the end it was amazing! I have a dairy allergy and the chefs accommodated my meal and everything still tasted amazing! We will definitely be back.
Nice ambience however I wasn't impressed by the food quality and taste, extremely expensive and portions incredibly tiny. We spent $200 for dinner for 2. For that money we coul've had great dinner in multiple fine restaurants in town.
1st time visit as recommended by Internet. Food was fresh, inventive and phenomenal for sure! Big plus, the service was absolutely amazing. The server was very knowledgeable and the chef tweaked little ingredients to make my dinner keto-friendly.
