This is an amazing Italian restaurant in Carroll Gardens. The food is very thoughtfully designed and prepared and the service is great. When we were last there, there was a wedding party in the backyard which was nice to see, but it made for a long wait to get seated. Other than wait time, highly recommended.

Bar staff and restaurant staff were friendly, accommodating, and knowledgable about their food and drink offerings. The ambience is also very welcoming and relaxing. Beautiful courtyard garden eating space out the back too.

Delicious house made pastas. I especially liked the cavalleni with sausage in brown sage. If I lived closer, I'd probably come all the time. With that said, it's not a blow your socks off kind of place but a great neighborhood staple. The salads are also excellent. Service was friendly and efficient.

"How do I love thee, let me count the ways"my fav. For years. Consistently great fresh tasty Italian..Must haves include the amazing meatballs BUT. If you never had the wine poached prunes with marscapone......you have missed a treat.

Is it weird to say my pasta made love to my mouth? I've never had a tomato sauce so delicious. I could definitely taste basil or oregano but aside from that it just exploded in my mouth. I know this isn't health food so I can't go everyday but if this was having I would. And the parmesan cheese they put on my pasta liberally as I asked was just as good.

Decent food but pricy and a bit too salty.

Decent food but pricy and a bit too salty.

No bread appetizer was given even though the waitress said she would bring it soon and there were flies constantly buzzing around our table area. We had to flag the waitress to get her attention, she was not proactive in meeting our needs. A pricy and forgettable experience.

Being married to a real Italian has spoiled me. Apps and tiramisu were the best part. My bolognese was lackluster, tasteless and the pasta was over cooked. It was my second time here after two years. I can t give it a third try. Nope.

We went at 5:30 p.m., having heard of the restaurant's great popularity, but were still ushered into the annex around the corner. this turned out to be a blessing -- a peaceful place where one could actually converse. food and service were splendid, with a kale, leek and butternut squash soup with ground chicken stock the stuff of ooohs and aaahs. main courses were very decent. we will be back.

Disappointing !

Disappointing !

Had dinner there last night . Food was pretty good.
How does an Italian restaurant not offer espresso? Service was cold and distant. Waiter never asked how we liked our meal . We had to ask for Cheese, pepper etc. it seemed like we were inconveniencing him . Wines by the glass were overpriced with small pour. Serving Tuscan red in a white wine glass was a convenient way of overcharging, Ricotta cheese cake was dry.Small portions for pasta. we will not be back. Better value other places.

The place that I am highly recommend. The food is delicious and everything is just perfect. As a NYC City Hall wedding photographer I will highly recommend Frankie s as the best NYC Elopement restaurant in the city.

Our favorite place. The food is sooo good. We usually get the burrata, the avocado and beet salad, cavatelli (they also do a vegetarian version with cauliflower that I love) and the ricotta gnocchi. The gnocchi is so soft. Like pillow soft. Melts in your mouth. We usually save room for the tiramisu. When the weather is nice and there isn't a wedding happening we like to sit outside.

Took the girlfriend here one night since we were in the neighborhood having never eaten here myself but hearing good things, and surprisingly we got a seat with no wait on a Saturday night. The service was a bit slow given that it was packed, but the food was very solid and a pretty diverse menu. Nothing too life changing or surprising, but just nice, refined comfort Italian food in a fun and lively atmosphere.

Very busy spot, came on a Sunday evening. Sat at the bar, food was amazing and wine selection was great as well. I wouldn t say the restaurant is 2 $$ I would say more like 3 $$$ as for the price. But amazing !

They have the real life version of monopoly on this stretch of Court street and it s a damn good thing (Frankies 457, F&F pizza & Franks). The food is always reliable and delicious. Service and their Covid setup is quite exemplary with well placed electric heaters above the tables to take the chill off the open air outdoor dining. So many favorites on the menu that it s hard to decide (went with Lasagna tonight - pictured). Do not pass go, do not collect $200 and just pull up to one of the three Fs and you ll be happy you did.

We had our first of 2 weddings here about a month ago and the staff members were incredible. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The food was phenomenal. We had the meatballs, gnocchi, cavatelli with spicy sausage and passed bruchetta. It was DELICIOUS. For dessert we had the chocolate ganache cake and the ricotta cheese cake instead of a wedding cake and I couldn't have made a better decision. They made our wedding very special. I am so grateful!

I have been coming to Frankies 457 for about 9 years now. The food has always been consistent, including the menu that which has remained untouched for as long as I have been coming.

Over the 9 years, the service has become incredibly cold, especially at the bar. There is no recognition for the neighborhood regulars or their loyalty. Tonight s service is especially off-putting as you are made to feel that you have done something wrong or worse, an intrusion.

Did not love this place. Used to love this place. Hostess is over her head. Could not get a straight answer. Arriving at 645pm,we were told no tables until 930 or 10. Plenty of tables available. This is a first. Do not feel welcome here anymore.

I don t know why this restaurant does not take reservations!!! It makes no sense that all of the other restaurants in the group take reservations but for some reason this one does not. I waited an hour after the host told me it would be 10 minutes for basic Italian food. It wasn t bad but it was not so outstanding that I wanted to wait an hour. Never going back here.

Very average food, extremely small, overpriced portions. Drinks were just as skimpy and overpriced. Service has a lot to be desired and how does an Italian restaurant not have Expresso on the menu??? Very disappointed in this choice and will not be returning here to eat. We left Frankie's hungry and went elsewhere to eat.

Tosca and her team at Frankies made our 25-person outdoor wedding an absolute dream come true. We could not have asked for more in terms of venue, food, and service. Due to covid and weather issues, we had to redo our seating chart multiple times. We also had various guests with dietary restrictions. Frankies was not only accommodating, they went above and beyond to make our day stress free and seamless. Our guests absolutely loved the experience and we had the best time ever. I highly recommend Tosca and Frankies if you are hoping to plan an intimate celebration (with or without covid.)

Sat at the bar and had a great time getting to know the bartender. This is the type of local restaurant that also knows how wildly popular it is. They make you feel welcome, but also keep up with the hustle and bustle. If it's your first time, get the housemade cavatelli. When you return, be more adventurous with the menu. Really can't go wrong.

Ridiculously expensive and incredibly rude. We paid over $100 for two appetizers and three drinks. After finding out we didn't intend to order their full 4 or 5 course meal, they kicked us out! The two appetizers we ordered were good, but small; the iced tea was terrible. Even if everything we ordered was amazing and not over-priced, I'd still never go back. How do you throw out paying customers just because they aren't as hungry as you think they should be?

Pretty amazing. Not a very extensive menu, but what they have, they do well. We had the cured meat tasting, the Buffalo mozzarella with arugula, the pappardelle with braised lamb, and the eggplant. Everything was delicious. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the sauce was amazing. *Edit* I recently came back and had the cavatelli with hot sausage and browned sage butter and it was nothing short of AMAZING! My new favorite on the menu. Can't wait to go back.

I WANTED TO LIKE THIS RESTAURANT, I HAD BEEN PLANNING TO GO TO THIS RESTAURANT FOR A FEW WEEKS AND WANTED TO ORDER THE PORK BRACHOLE, THAT IS ONLY SERVED ON THE WEEKENDS.

THE RESTAURANT IS SMALL BUT QUANT,. VERY NOISY THAT WAS MADE WORSE BY A VERY LOUD CUSTOMER THAT WAS SITTING 8" AWAY. THE RESTAURANT IS ONE HARD SURFACE AFTER ANOTHER, NO SOUND ABSORBING MATERIAL AT ALL, IN ORDER TO BE HEARD BY YOUR COMPANION I HAD TO SPEAK LOUDLY. I ASKED TO BE MOVED TO ANOTHER TABLE, AND WAS

FIRST THE WAITER BROUGHT A SMALL DISH OF EVO THAT WAS BITTER SICILIAN I ASKED THE WAITER?.IT WAS. THE BREAD WAS MOIST AND DENSE THE WAY I LIKE IT BUT THE CRUST WAS BURNED IN PLACES AND NOT PLEASANT TO EAT.

THE PLATE OF ITALIAN CURED MEATS WAS GREAT, AND I THOUGHT THINGS WOULD GET BETTER. WRONG, THE BRACHOLE I HAD BEEN LUSTING AFTER WAS A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. THE TOMATO SAUCE WAS ORDINARY AND A BIT WATERY WITHOUT THE DEEP FLAVOR YOU WOULD EXPECT AFTER HAVING THE PORK BRAISING IN IT FOR A FEW HOURS. THE MEAT ITSELF DID NOT HAVE A MEMORABLE PORK FLAVOR, NOT TENDER AND THE STUFFING DID NOTHING TO IMPROVE THE DISH. THE DISH LACKED ALMOST ANY SEASONING AT ALL, WHOEVER MADE THE BATCH OBVIOUSLY NEVER TASTED HIS CREATION.

I EXPRESSED MY DISAPOINTMENT TO THE WAITER AND WAS PROMPTLY TOLD I HAD EATEN MORE THAN HALF THE BRACHOLE. I SAID I MENTIONED MY DISAPOINTMENT NOT BECAUSE I WANTED ITFOR FREE BUT AS A CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENT.

SO IF YOU WANT TO EAT AT A NOISY, MEDIOCRE ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN BROOKLYN GO TO THIS ONE.

SORRY FOR THE MISSPELLING OF BRACHOLE,

Had a totally perfect dining experience here last week. I came here on a whim with my boyfriend, friend and his mother following my graduation to celebrate. The weather was perfect so we opted to sit outside where customers are covered More

My friends and I visited this restaurant in Carroll Gardens recently. The outdoor space was also pretty large. The inside space was rather narrow and small. Service was friend and good.

We had several dishes and they were all very good.

I had the sweet potato ravioli in parmesan broth. It was very good. It was more like a sweet potato dumpling soup. (It should not be confused with any Chinese style dumpling soups). Another memorable dish was the ricotta cheesecake. I highly recommend you these.

One of my friends also recommended teh BLT there.

They had Manhattan quality with Brooklyn price.

I highly recommend this place. *****

Great food for a good price.

First time sitting in the far back garden and really enjoyed things.

Had lots of wine, great food, and environment.

Make sure and order bread and olive oil with antipasto.

The cavatelli with sausage was also delicious.
