Oh Frankies, you are amazing! Right down the street from my sister's apartment, a visit to Brooklyn is not complete without dinner here. I have eaten at the bar as well as outside on the beautiful patio. Service is great and the bartenders are fantastic. The octopus salad is amazing. However, the cavatelli and the papardelle are MUST orders. Bring a friend, because you will, and should, order both.

Liked this a lot. Pastas and pizzas were superb, but for some reason they still turn around people citing 1.5 hour wait times when if you just stand around there for 10 minutes with the right attitude, a spot seems to always open up. Worth a 10-20 minute wait, but wouldn't wait longer.

Easily one of the best Italian restaurants I've ever at. Intimate (read: small) place and very popular so they fill up fast. We put our name on the list for first available (bar or table) and went 2 blocks down the street to Abilene for drinks while we waited. Once I got a call we had 2 seats waiting for us at the bar. Service was spectacular. We went with the bartender's suggestion for our appetizer, a burrata special, which was delicious. My wife had the sweet potato sage ravioli, I opted for the short rib over polenta. Both were outstanding. We of course had the tiramisu for dessert. We happened upon Frankies by accident and cannot believe our good fortune. We will be back.

Fantastic place, My wife and I had our wedding here, [March 2017] ceremony in the courtyard and reception in the stable and they could not of done enough from the planning and quoting, the best Italian food I've ever had, drinks were great too, and the amazing staff who even chased off a couple of wedding crashers.

We had an extraordinary time in this restaurant. We loved the wonderful atmosphere and the food. The waiters were very personal. I m content we ultimately decided to try this restaurant.

WOW!

Disappointed by food and service.

Disappointed by food and service.
Cavetelli with sausage - brown butter sauce nothing special and sausage very fatty (not to mention ~1/8th pound pasta for $28 and no fresh grated parmesan ir pepper offered).
Sausage and peppers over polenta - polenta was soupy (think grits accidentally made with too much water) and just fell apart resulting in a big bowl of mush (not to mention that the s&p was not even tasty enough to make up for the failed polenta).
If you're looking for yummy Italian in an atmosphere where you feel at home and taken care of, consider looking elsewhere.

My boyfriend took me out to dinner here on a Saturday night. We sat in the dinning room. The ambience, though fancy, also had a laid back feeling which I liked.

Our waitress was Katy, she was great. Usually when I try a new restaurant I ask the server their favorite, Katy suggested the gnocchi with ricotta. Had to be one of the best pasta dishes I've eaten. For desert she suggested the red wine dates, which honestly I bypassed on the menu, but they were amazing so glad we listened to her. This is a great date night, girls night out, or even family night, restaurant. Would absolutely come again.

The salads here are so good I think next time I'm just going to order all of them and skip the mains. Polenta with sausages and peppers was good, but nothing mind-blowing. Great cocktails and banter with Betty at the bar. Will be back for sure!

Gnocchi to die for because they're so fresh and pillowy. Fruity olive oil to go with your crusty bread for the table. Pastas and the fresh salads are great, but I also love just sitting at the bar to share an antipasto platter over a quartino of wine. Friendly staff.

Frankies is my favorite restaurant in all of NYC. The interior is cozy and the backyard is delightful. The stable, which can be rented for events, is also lovely. I held a party there shortly after my wedding; everyone loved the space - and the food! - and the staff were a pleasure to work with.
Menu highlights are the wildly popular and always available cavatelli with hot sausage, the seasonal spaghetti with fava beans, various crostini, and, at brunch, French toast made with their excellent bread. But you really can't go wrong with whatever you choose!

What is one of the worst things that can happen when you are starving for Italian food? A fight with the hostess over the table choice forces you to leave. So unnecessary and so wrong. Where are the Frankie's when you need them? No second chances.

Terrible Delivery, canceled order 1 hour after I ordered when I saw expecting my food. Great food in the restaurant but it looks like it stays there. Very Disappointed by there efforts to expand into the delivery game.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend Frankies to anyone given their response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We had to cancel our wedding scheduled for June 20, 2020 due to the shutdown and circumstances in NYC for restaurants/events and also the limitations on gatherings over 10 people. I provided written cancellation to them in accordance with my contract on March 16, 2020. The deposit is fully refundable so long as at least 28 days notice is provided. This is per the contract I signed, as well as Frankies. They confirmed via email my deposit would be fully refunded to me within 30 days. The next day I received an email saying my deposit couldn't be refunded until the restaurant "re-opened." As we all know, restaurants are no where close to re-opening for in person dining, which would have been (potentially) when I could have received my $14,200 deposit back. I went back and forth with their COO Lauren Merkin all throughout March and April regarding my deposit and I even offered her a payment plan. While I tried to be understanding of their small business, they unfortunately did not work with me whatsoever to get me my money back. I offered her an option to pay me only $5,000 within the 30 day time frame and then pay me $2,000 a month thereafter- which I think is extremely generous of me to offer when I never agreed to give Frankies an interest free loan. They had no idea what my financial situation was and basically fraudulently took my MUCH NEEDED $14,200 after I did not receive a check on April 15th. Lauren told me they didn't have the money to give me. Very scary to think a restaurant that holds events spends your money as soon as it is received. They do NOT hold your event money in escrow for safe keeping until AFTER the event concludes. Luckily I was extremely fortunate to have used my Chase Freedom credit card to charge all of the deposits totaling $14,200. I reported Frankies as fraudulent on April 15th and Chase refunded me the money immediately. I just received word yesterday that (of course) I won my dispute and the refund is now permanent on my account. I feel incredibly sad thinking of all the couples who may have paid in cash or by check that aren't as lucky as me.

Frankies looked like a beautiful space to hold an intimate wedding and the pasta was incredible. However, given the extreme uncertainty going forward for likely many years due to this pandemic, I can never recommend Frankies to anyone holding an event.

Frankies is awesome- particularly for brunch. The sandwiches are outrageously good. It's in a great neighborhood and has a cool, low-key scene, and I would have given it a "best ever" rating, but the service leaves something to be desired.

Place was terrible. The food, the service, the whole thing. Went the night before, told to wait 2 hrs for 2. Went back the next day for brunch. They made it seem upscale and award winning, but everything was so basic. I had (as our waitress suggested) a tenderloin. It came topped with tomato sauce and half a plate of soupy corn stuff. My date asked for a meatball parm sandwich, and got one squished meatball on some foccacia bread that wasn't fresh. When we asked about it, the waitress became passive aggressive and made us very uncomfortable. Then, she spilled some water on my dates back, ok accidents happen, but she cleaned the chair legs and didn't even offer her a napkin! Sufficed to say, if you're looking for basic Italian with no expectations of quality, you'll be fine. Otherwise avoid.

PS- I'm not normally one to write bad review but this was REALLY bad.

No doubt one of the best Italian meals I ve had in a long time. Great atmosphere in the back open air garden area (was there for a wedding rehearsal dinner). Would certainly go back for the delicious cocktails and that gnocchi!

small tapas, excellent pollenta but the wait was a turn off as was the small eatery area. i like the one better in brooklyn, carroll gardens. overall the food is still good and i love that plum wine dessert with mascapone cheese. 2 die 4

Great service, unfortunately the food was average which was somewhat disappointing. We came for the pasta; ordered the Busiati short rib bolognese which lacked depth of flavour but the meat was tender & the Cavatelli with sausage & browned sage butter, the cavatelli itself was delicious but again no real flavours from the sage or sausage. The special Italian salad with anchovy dressing was the star of the show, so to speak.
Great friendly attentive service, wish we went to F&F for pizza instead.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and dining up at the bar. The house-made Cavatelli with Faiccos hot sausage & browned sage butter was great. Could have even had a bit more heat to it. Recommend dressings for salad on the side as it was a bit much with the caesar salad we ordered.

This is one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. While they don t have an extensive menu with things like chicken parm or pizza, the food here is insanely good. The cavatelli pasta was one of the best pastas I ve ever had. And the sauce on the eggplant was ridiculous.

As good as it gets! Recommend by local relatives for hosting ~25 friends/family for a very special dinner celebration (2.5 years ago). Exemplary service/atmosphere/drinks and of course...cuisine!!! A perfect evening we'll never forget for the rest of our lives!

Good pasta, but ridiculously overpriced and small portions. You re paying for the ambiance which is nice, and this would be a good date spot, but the prices are a little out of control for what you get.

Everything we've had at Frankies is top notch. Cavatelli, Antipasto, Meatballs and the Crostinis just to name a few. Must tries! Oh, and a new found favorite is the roast beef sandwich. Wish I could give 6-stars this place is unbelievably good!!!
