The tea ritual? This is the right place for a tea of excellence
Excellent in all respects. Ground floor is very busy; other floors are more comfortable and interesting. The best department store in town.
Dire service. Went for Afternoon Tea. Big mistake and never again. We went to the Savoy instead...much much better.
There are very good tea and beautiful packaging, but the check-out clerk is not so kind, maybe just a special case
Extremely crowded with tourists from all over the world. I bought a lot of black tea. It's too bulky to fit in a suitcase, and I'm worried at the hotel.
Very christmassy but OMG I felt like a sardine. If you're only going to look as a tourist, I would avoid it until after the New Year when you can really enjoy this absolutely beautiful store.
Nice shop, quality products. The cakes served at the tea room are excellent.
It is said that this is where Queen Elizabeth buys tea. There is an immense variety, one richer than another. The first floor of crockery for tea time is a must.
Beautiful and elegant, it is to walk and buy some tea
It is the most beautiful shopping center in London, worth a visit, and buy some tea, or stop by the super market area
Great shop, lovely selection of food, tea and chocolates. We had afternoon tea in the upstairs tea rooms, you get the table for one and half hours, the food and tea is refreshed as required. I throughly enjoyed my time there, the tea was great, its expensive but the experience was worth it. I would return.
Has definitely lost some of it's old world charm but still quintessentially British,a magnet for tourists,if it's premium and you can eat it and drink it you can pretty much get what you want here!
Who doesn t like this place?
I could come here for the afternoon tea a million times. It s simply the best!
Everything here has a high price, but mostly they represent good value. This means that pretty much everything here would make a good gift, even the gift cards are a pleasure to receive.
London s best Gourmet store
This is one of the oldest Gourmet store where Londoners go shopping for the most sought after Gourmet brands
Easy to locate and has some of the finest cheese, chocolates and gift hampers
Christmas time you will have a hard time billing your purchase as the store is super crowded, a must visit if you are visiting London
Do share your experience at the store
Good old fashioned service at its best. Wonderful quality and choice of luxury food. Great special gifts. Fresh cream chocolates to die for. Must place to go for afternoon tea.
Worth a trip for the amazing old school sweets section - chocolate mice, boiled sweets and the like - with a luxury twist.
Other than that, I'd rather spend my time in one of London's other department stores.
Iconic store. A place to get some of your more high end groceries. Manic at times as it's also a bit of a tourist destination also.
What to say? Great quality for and products - get some chocolates
Great shop with helpful staff even if you're not buying!! You definitely get what you pay for though! Look for the reduced deals at the end of the counters too
Great place for coffee and scones! Fan of the clotted cream and strawberry preserves that come with the scones. They go perfectly with the warm and moist scones.
The shop is famous for black tea, but you can enjoy tea as well as souvenirs.
The upper floor is a department store. The top floor Christmas goods section sells Christmas goods all year round, and there were many cute items. 2016
Cosy and stylish. Delicious teas, ice creams, scones but also savouries like Welsh rarebit.
The perfect place to buy delicious Scottish shortbreads with salted hazelnuts.
Nice selection of teas in a somewhat relaxed atmosphere. Will accommodate vegetarian, pescetarian, etc.
Worst Christmas hamper delivery ever:
I ordered an international delivery of a Christmas hamper. F&M confirmed they could deliver to the location and that delivery would be by the 19th December. The hamper has still not been delivered and it's now the 3rd of January. F&M have dealt with the situation very poorly. Excuses include "It's hard for us to find out the status from the delivery courier as it's a different timezone" and asking if I can get the intended recipient (for whom it was obviously intended as a Christmas surprise) to contact the courier "because they'll be in the same time zone". I think perhaps offering an international delivery service is too much for them.
Go in. Find the food section. Indulge.
The rest is pretty good as well.
Super busy but super cute and central! The restaurant here is pricey but delicious too.
Wow what a store. It reminds me of my childhood. Shame I couldn't afford the majority of the stock. But its wonderful to dream. The doorman was very friendly.
Afternoon Tea at Fortnums was superb. Well worth a trip up to London.
Wont buy from this place again due to the use of Foie Gras. Its banned everywhere else as its one of the cruelest production methods in use today. The production process is banned in the UK because its so sickeningly cruel and primitive and places like Harvey Nichols and Selfridges wont sell it, its just a shame this place wont too. I am actually ashamed that this place is claiming to have a great British history, I'm English and I would only refrain from urinating on the place if it was on fire.
Beautiful building but sadly become too commercialised and prices are just silly!0
Never good bored of this place. Don't know what to buy somebody? You will find something here! Thank you as always for your great service.
Amazing ... gluten free afternoon tea was 1st class.. staff friendly..service was excellent
An amazing experience, first class service and exquisite food and drink simply brilliant my mother and I adored it!
Good service and experience off having a coffee with a small cone off ice cream attached to your saucer and NOT expensive.
Good for special products, the unusual and for treats - the orange marmalade with champagne is particularly good and the tea. Products are of good quality. Staff very helpful and polite. Excellent atmosphere.
Popped in on my way to visit friends and found the perfect selection of marmalades and honey. The shop seemed well organised and well stocked this time, although very busy as usual..
Fortnum and mason is untidy and rude staff from the agency called roc store owned by a Canadian , that provides nothing for the uk and the country, and don't agree its expansion around the world or either the Mediterranean , they don't provide refreshments on the assessment day and rude and hire people in the early 20s to do the recruitment, I would not come from afar to the low low department store, no way
A gem of a restaurant with delicious authentic Indian food beautifully presented
The teas are delicious, only the clerks were unpleasant
Great loose tea counter with the best choice in town. The staff will tell you (if you are curious enough) what is the best way to prepare a particular sort of tea.
Because the store is large and pretty, it is fun to visit the store itself along with various products such as tea and cookies. Fortnum and Mason Tea, which doesn't always disappoint.
Visited London and enjoyed seeing there window displays.
First high tea experience at the oldest department store in London. I highly recommend! Not only is it the Queen's official grocer, but it is also frequented by royalty from around the world (there was a princess in the room next to me).
Superb old fashioned food store. Expensive for a reason, a real blast from the past. Always a treat at Christmas but worth a visit anytime. Staff excellent
