Had to call an ambulance, to come get my wife,. When she got to the ER,they gave her an IV,to hydrate her,the IV drip was too cold which made my wife start freezing, and shaking, which made her whole body's muscles tighten up, causing severe pain, they gave her nothing to help her pain,or to relax her muscles, so now we're going to her regular doctor, to see if he can help, they just treated her like they were all in a hurry,!.
They should be more careful with the IV,at least warm them up,enough, not to hurt their patients, I've had bad experiences with them before, they gave me a staff infection, when I came in for surgery, then tried to charge me for treating the staff infection that they gave me, 40,000.$ If you have to stay in their hospital, make sure that you make the doctors and nurses and techs, wash their hands before they touch you.!!!..

I recently had surgery at Fort Walton hospital . The surgical staff was great and made me feel very comfortable. The nursing staff was spot on all the time. Day and night staff were personable, pleasant and very helpful. I actually got some rest! Amanda is doing a great job with her staff. I couldn't be more satisfied with my stay there.

If I could give them no stars I would! I'm from out of state and had a car accident in this area (unfortunately) so I had no choice which hospital they took me to. I laid in a hallway on a stretcher. Had 2 x-rays and a cat scan to tell me i had a sprained shoulder and neck. That's it no concussion or anything. No one made a move to clean any of my wounds. Everyone was rude except a great male nurse who brought me a warm blanket. They tried to give me fentynal for my pain!! I said "absolutely not! I don't i dont want any opiates." So they asked if I had a history of addiction and I said "no and I don't want one" so they didn't give me anything. No Advil, Tylenol, nothing! Then a Dr. Gary Wright came told me I was good took my neck brace off and sent me on my way. My vehicle was totaled I had no hotel or anything and he just kicked me out with it's not my problem.
When I got back to my home state I went to my local hospital and found out that I had and still have a server concussion and no t o only a sprained shoulder but I sprained rotator cuff. But the biggest blow was the bill. Over$15,000 to lay in a hall way and have no treatment!! And that wasn't even the radiation bill, that came seperate!! I don't know if it's because um from out of state but I have no desire to go back to Florida anytime soon!! Definitely not fort Walton area!!

This is honestly the most unprofessional emergency...

This is honestly the most unprofessional emergency room I think ever existed. The Doctors and nurses almost seem like they refuse to speak to each other and there seems to be 3 or 4 people who are dealing with you and since theres no communication you repeat yourself 40 times. On top of that while me and my wife were there for her ER visit the doctor literally ignored all my questions I had about my wifes issues. As though my concerns do not matter. Then the doctor only talked for about 3 minutes and all she said was "could be" "maybe" "probably" when being asked if what her symptoms were could actually be caused by their diagnosis. In other words she acted as though she picked a condition and was like "eh screw it I'll just tell them this". That lady was rude. No introduction no nothing just 20 words and walked away. The nurses seem as though they dont know their ass from their elbow. bottom line. Bad place
Update - If I could I would give them 0. Now I read an article that was published about a week ago about an antibiotic that they gave my wife that states it is a LAST RESORT medication if ALL OTHERS FAIL TO WORK. They gave her this stuff and the article was detailing how dangerous this medication is. Literally destroying your very DNA and making your tendons like paper as well as giving wide spread arthritis. Now I know it doesn't mean it would happen to her but there's more than a few horror stories about this medication being taken for just the 10 days they ask you to take them. This is something that the doctor or nurses should have explained but then again they should not have given her a medication that as stated is a LAST RESORT! I don't know if they understand what last resort means but obviously they don't care. I will never recommend this place to anyone ever. Sacred heart would be 1 million times better to go to. I could go on and on about this place.

This hospital is amazing. Every staff member is so attentive to your needs. They go above and beyond to help you. Each and every nurse takes the time to listen to you as if they really care. I have nothing bad to say about this hospital. They deserve a 5 star review. I thank you Fort Walton Beach Medical Center for all they did for me

Alright so my girlfriend gave birth here. The staff in L&D were absolutely amazing! But when we were discharged our baby had to stay in ICU. So we are waiting around on him, and the lady at the front desk in the er has the WORST attitude. Otherwise I would of gave 5 stars. She had a clear attitude when we asked if she could open the door so we could get to l&d to see the baby. She rolled her eyes at me. Gave obvious discusted looks when we spoke to her. We are already going through a lot with the baby being in L&d we didn't need her making it worse. The rest of the staff has been amazing. But she is just horrible. I've never wrote a review before but I had to after this experience. As a matter of fact , a lady who just came in with a child who appeared to have a broken foot went off on her because of the attitude. That literally just happened. A nurse escorted them to the back and now the front desk lady is talking smack. Saying shes freaking out over nothing. Something needs to be done about this. I would love to give higher ratings but she littliteraly made me sick. The rest of the staff was amazing. It's 12:17 am. The blonde lady at the front desk. Thank you.

My experience was fine, but I called ahead of time before my stress test to find out the cost, the lady said they will call me back if I will have to pay. Well no one called me so I had my stress test done and found out after the fact, that it was almost $3000.00. Talk about a stress test! I am so shocked of not only the ridiculous cost but also no one letting me know. $ 3000. 00 is quite a large sum of money to me. I probably would have not bothered to take the test especially since I called ahead first to find out and received no help. I almost feel like I was scammed. Thanks for nothing

It is because of our excellent nurses on 3 South- ...

It is because of our excellent nurses on 3 South- Susan and Alex that this hospital will even get a 1 start rating from myself and my husband, Paul (the patient). While visiting Florida on vacation, Paul started to become ill. We first visited an Urgent Care facility that encouraged us to go to the local ER to have a CT scan to confirm the assumption of appendicitis.

Who knew it would take about 6 hours to be seen once we set foot in the ER. But no worries after 90 minutes of waiting and my husband spending his time doubled over in pain, the insensitive charge nurse, Dave, would come out and attempt to squelch our dissatisfaction by letting us know that the ER appreciates our patience but they've had some "real emergencies" that were causing the delay for us and the other folks in the ER to be seen in a timely manner. To their credit they attempted to do blood draws, X-rays, etc while folks were waiting, but while doing so they were asking for everyone's Social Security number in front of everyone. (great privacy protection call here, guys)

Once we were graciously taken behind the wooden ER door, Paul was then told he needed to sit in the hall while he waited on a room. It was here that we learned the lady to our right had a UTI, her prescription, and that she worked for a local airline. We also learned that the lady to our left, who was just in a car accident with her newly born grandson, that she had donated her kidney and we learned her Social Security number. (HIPPA, anyone???)

Paul was then finally taken to a CT and then sat back in the hall for another 30-40 minutes before we were finally given a bed. Flash forward about 60 minutes, one of the ER doctors decided it was finally appropriate to spend 90 seconds with us and tell Paul he had to have his appendix removed and we needed to wait on a surgeon to come talk to him.

The surgeon, Dr. Colvin, and the OR nurse, John, were both wonderful. John spoke with me on OR waiting room phone a few times to keep posted on Paul's progress. Dr. Colvin was wonderful in her post-surgery discussion with me.

Then things started to taken another downward turn- the OR nurse that was transporting Paul to his room (I can't remember her name, but she was a traveling nurse and headed back to WV), was less than wonderful. While taking Paul to the third floor, Paul started to become sick and the nurse did not come prepared with any kind of bag or basin for any kind of emesis (who does that after surgery- isn't it common knowledge that folks are nauseous after surgery). So while Paul is heaving in his bed, the nurse abandons his bed to grab a few paper towels. This caused Paul's bed to begin to roll backwards and had I not caught him in time he would have been jarred into the wall (just what everyone needs right after surgery). Then during the pass-off from OR nurse to floor nurse, the nurse only shows 3 of the incisions and fails to mention the 4th. (who cares if the one along the underwear line becomes infected??)

I do want to reiterate how wonderful Susan and Alex were on 3 South. They helped calm me down and made Paul laugh a few times- which did make the experience much more tolerable. They deserve to work in a better facility.

Overall, this hospital is horrendous. They need to reevaluate it's privacy policies, ER procedures, and post-op procedures. Unacceptable, Fort Walton.

I wish I could give them 0 stars. On June 30 I took my daughter in for a very sore ear while on vacation in Fort Walton Beach. This place was listed as a provider by Medica, who is our insurance provider. We were there less than 45-minutes, I think closer to 30-minutes. They did standard check-in stuff like blood pressure and put the oxygen sensor on her finger. A nurse looked in her ear with the tool and the gave her a pain reliever and a prescription. That is the extent of what they did. The Fort Walton Beach Medical Center sent me a bill for $1,948 for this visit. A doctor by the name of Dr. Eric Schuck, who we never saw also sent a separate bill for $758. I called and they said Dr. Schuck was the supervising doctor and he signed off on our paperwork. $758 for a signature? Really? So $2,706 for 30-minutes to look at a sore ear and give a prescription. I'm totally dumbfounded.

Before my heart cath this week I had received some very good and some mediocre words about the quality of care in this hospital. I just want to say that I couldn't have been more pleased. The staff from registration to the lab to reception in the cardiovascular lab to the techs, the nurses and the doctors were superb and very professional, friendly, and comforting. Debbie and Gretchen prepped me for the procedure and were excellent. They were professional and thorough and friendly.. The personnel in the cath room itself couldn't have been more professional and friendly. I give high praise to my cardiologist, Dr. Padone for his care and for his professionalism and expertise in performing the cath. It was minimally painful and thorough with great results. I would be very remiss if I didn't first give praise, honor and glory to my heavenly father for his infinite loving care and provision. He put me with this team and watched over me through it all and brought me safely through it. I highly recommend this hospital and the Okaloosa Heart and Vascular Center.

We definitely didn't want to be in the hospital on vacation, but the staff and doctors here are amazing. We saw two different pediatricians during our stay and both were wonderful and came up with a plan for my lil one to get better. The nurses went above and beyond what I expected and made sure that my lil guy was doing well and that we were as comfortable as could be during the circumstances.

Thank you for everything!

My husband went into have surgery on his colon. I was told it would take about 3 to 4 hrs. Because of the mask required. I told the nurse I would just sit in my car. We got to the hospital at 5 in the morning they took him back and finally after 3 hrs I called and was told they didn't have anyone by that name. I called several times to different numbers still couldn't locate him. Even their website didn't work right. I just was disappointed that they can't keep up with patients better. Now it's 300 and they still can't find a room for him .I would guess that if a patient came in early a room could be found quicker . Not impressed. His recovery nurse , Donna was very good. But this hospital could just be manged better. Just to add an additional comment a couple days later. My husbands nurses , were Excellent. Rachel/Aly and Andrea. . Very compassiate. Caring. Sweet. Very well informed. Maybe they should have been the ones running the hospital, instead of management.

Dear Mr Mongell,

Dear Mr Mongell,

Upon arrival in the Outpatient Area they attached the ID bracelet to my arm and I looked down to find I had forgotten to remove three bracelets. These bracelets have screws to secure them and I never take them off. The sweet girl in outpatient went above and beyond to track down an eye glass kit that had a tiny screwdriver in it so that I could remove them. But, that isn t all she helped me remove them as it is a two person job! I wish I could remember her name but the anesthesia wipes it out of my brain.

Once in Pre Op I had Diane as my nurse and Amanda helped her with my IV. They were so very quick to address my needs which truly made it easy on me. Diane was the perfect level of being attentive while I waited for surgery. I was impressed because that is an area of nursing that can be challenging to be attentive, comforting, yet still professional due to the rapid flow of patients in and out. The OR staff was absolutely amazing! Amanda a scrub tech, with the most exposure to working with my physician on this particular surgery came in on her week off to assist him! The circulators were very comforting during those last few anxious moments before anesthesia is administered by holding my had. And, the level of care was carried on right into the PACU. Kathleen was extremely efficient and upbeat! Which is what I needed while coming out of that drowsy state!

My experience at FWBMC was impressive at every turn. From door to door I did not encounter anything other than helpful, comforting, efficient people. I was observant and notice that this care wasn t given just to me, each patient was given that same standard. Having this experience has given me a great deal of confidence in returning for myself as well as my family's future medical needs.

You are leading a great team in Fort Walton Beach!

I only gave one star for the agency nurses who cared for my husband. They were the only ones apparently doing their jobs. He is a utilities worker helping to restore power after Hurricane Michael
who became ill in Panama City. Was transferred to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center with a diagnosis of small bowel blockage. Was accepted there as a patient even though they knew they had no beds available. Lay in the Er then in the express Er area for 2 and 1/2 days and Never saw a doctor. We were told no one put in an order for a consult after asking a couple dozen times in those 2 1/2 days. Was discharged still having seem no MD. Traveled to our home state
of Louisiana straight to another hospital where he was immediately admitted. Worst hospital I ve ever encountered! Can t wait to fight over that bill!!!!

Your outpatient nursing staff is amazing!! Kim and Darcy made me feel as if I was the only client they had all day...which I know wasn't true ! :-) And Jesus is the nicest person God ever created!!!! I can't imagine a occupation that is more mentally and emotionally challenging than the medical profession. Please know that you have a crew that made me happy I was ill....okay, not really but hopefully you get the point ;-) I've been to other facilities in the panhandle...none of the compare to FWB Medical Center!

The medical services and hospital staff are ABSOL...

The medical services and hospital staff are ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. CAN'T BE BEAT. BUT, the bill you will receive will blow your mind. It's impossible to pay unless your rolling in a lot of money or get on a 60 month payment plan and pay every month, unbelievable like a extra car payment. Even belonging to one of the top 3 health insurance companies/ with an excellent PPO plan, you are STILL going to pay a ton of money out of pocket. Because the hospital over charges you and your insurance company up in the thousands. Way beyond over charging. I have never in all my years seen or heard anyone that has used other hospitals get charged such outrageous amounts of money (for what you go in for. And I'm talking about when you have good health insurance. There needs to be 24/7 hour Urgent Care facilities locations around this area like they have in most cities. That way you don't have to go to ER in hospital after hours and get robbed by FWB Medical. They rob your insurance company as well.
If you sprang or crack your foot, your looking at close to 6,500 for the bill. My part was 1800.00. You pay a percentage of that large bill after deductible with some insurance companies. If you have to have a colonoscopy, a routine colonoscopy that your told to have after 50, your looking at a bill of 27,000.00. That's right a 2 hour visit, actual procedure 15 minutes, and yes, Dr. and Hospital is in the network. My cost 3,500.00 which I have trouble paying on my income. I am still paying monthly bill on the cracked foot on my kid from a year ago. A friend of mine had an out patient uterine ablation and she was at the hospital for 5 hours. I took her that day and waited on her. She showed me what the hospital charged her insurance company later when the stmt. came in. It was 55,000. I forgot what her part was. I was in disbelief over the 55k. There is no way this should be allowed at all. And the cases above is not counting separate bills you will receive from the Dr. on call or the anesthesiologist's or the Nurse Practitioner. Bottom line is you can not afford to get hurt or sick anymore. Very scary....

Don t bring your family member here. My 84 year old father has been in a bed in the hallway of the ER for 16 HOURS with no hope of being admitted to a room. He has been exposed to a violent patient that had to be restrained and at least 4 flu viruses. He has had no food. We will be lucky if he makes it out alive. I am not physically capable of moving him to another hospital - we are captive.

I have been to the Outpatient facility almost twice a week for the last three weeks for blood work and today I had a D&C due to miscarriage. I can honestly say that I couldn't have asked for better care, the staff all seemed genuinely happy to be there, they were very efficient and they all had great bedside manner. Admittedly I was nervous about the whole thing, but they helped ease my fears about the surgery and I would trust them again not only with my care but the care of my family as well.

Worst hospital I have ever been to. The emergency clinic was fine but the rest felt like... here comes the Canadian so let s do every test and keep her three days only to send her home with drugs and say nothing is wrong. Old injury. Funny when I get back to Canada they say I should have had surgery and pins for the clear indication of fracture to the upper arm! Not one doctor examined me but they were fast to drug me up. Grey haired nurse gave me drugs from her open hand no glove and overdosed me to be projectile vomiting. They tell me I have the flu which I did not. No physiotherapy, follow up visit was a joke. No one checked the MRI nor I guess could read the X-rays either, $33000USD later and poor care. The nurses are travelling nurses and no one seems to know each other so mistakes made and lack of ownership to say hey there is a problem here . Doctor off site undermines the emergency doctors, seriously...you are the system and I am sure you all know what you are doing but poor poor service and I am left with an arm that is not healing properly. Ridiculous.to the team of doctors looking at X-rays, you stink. Then to blame the emergency doctors as they don t know what they are doing and that overdosed patients is normal? Is that really your bedside manner? Trust me I will never ever come back. Poor excuse for caring environment. And I don t blame the emergency doctors. I think I have told over 100 people and the local people all seem to know the reputation is bad at this hospital. Sept 9,2018...I followed up as per the hospital request. They did ask me to call so I did, they felt that there should 've an investigation. The person did call back while I was in a retail store so I asked her to call me back as she was asking personal information in a very defensive manner. She never called me back. Interesting I received two letter in the mail today...the final letter came first saying they Have reviewed the file and found nothing wrong. Then I received the letter date 3days earlier saying they will look into it. Both dated after I called but I still have not received a call. I hope you as a patient reads this. They are more interested in covering up than incvestigating the circumstances. Again don't go here for care!

My mom recently passed away in the ICU after a week long battle with organ failure. The ICU staff were incredibly compassionate, knowledgeable, helpful, and cohesive as a caregiving team. Although my mom did not make it, I left knowing that she got the best care she could get, and that she was treated with tenderness and respect. Thank you again to the ICU team for all of your support and help during this difficult time.

33 weeks pregnant and had a bp crisis, and had to be rushed here, and my doctor Wanted to have them transfer me to the hospital where I d be delivering so I could be monitored there after they got me stabilized. Fort Walton Medical staff did nothing to lower my bp, just drew my blood, had me lay down and checked it until it went down, and then refused to transfer me to the larger hospital, directly ignoring my doctors orders, told me there was nothing wrong and discharged me. And then Billed my insurance $10,600. Luckily, I called my doctor and had my husband drive me to the other hospital where my doctor was able to make adjustments as needed, because I was in the middle of another bp crisis just a few hours later. If you have a choice, do not come here. I do not recommend this place. They re both the incompetent and probably the most expensive hospital I ve ever been to.

The MRI, X-ray, and outpatient person were great and did everything professionally. The person who called to schedule the appointment and the person who did some type of pre-visit workup were some of the most condescending people I have ever encountered. They spoke to me as if I were a child and I was interrupting their life . Glad the others were more people related and friendly because my first impression before walking in the doors was this was not the place for me.

Do not come to any part of this facility I have had to come here several times and each time has been horrible due to the gross incompetence and neglect of their staff.

They carelessly add medications without checking them against the current ones to make sure there won't be any incompatibilities.

Worst hospital I have ever been too. First of all all my original blood cultures and labs were taken 10 ft away from a construction area and that's where I sat for 24 hours. Once i finally got a room it would sometimes take an hour after i called the nurses for someone to help me, they needed to get blood from me at least 2 times a day and was stuck and missed probably 10 times a day throughout the entire week so now I have scars all over my arms from these unprofessional nurses and lab workers, the food was absolutely terrible, i was refused my medical records and told i could not leave like i was in jail i spent a week here and honestly in a life or death situation you have a better chance driving to Houston, Texas I also had the chance to witness them trying to revive a lady that was not breathing(she passed away) and was not impressed on the protocol and would be VERY upset if it was one of my family members I could not get answers from anybody on just about any question I asked VERY RUDE nurses (except for one and her name was barb) well I ended up walking out and taking myself to houston memorial herman and that decision saved my life. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL IF YOU HAVE THE OPTION

I came here via an ambulance because I could not breathe. The female doctor immediately made me feel like I was on triql. She questioned if I had been there before the same thing.she made me very uncomfortable and was very uncompassionate. I was scared because I could not breathe and I was treated like this. At the time they were finishing construction on the he emergency room. After dealing with the rude doctor, they put me n a waiting room that was no longer being used.....I was put there all by myself.4-5 hours later we yelled for a nurse and I asked what was going on.i was told that doctor went home and the nurse told me she would put my chart at the front. So the doctor was rude to me, then she threw me to the side all by mys lf in a room way far from anyone else.i was pushed aside and put in a room far away from anyone else and was forgotten while the doctor went home.....all this from someone who came in on the ambulance who could not breathe.....where is the care? Where is the compassion? I went here to be treated and to be taken care of and instead I experienced total neglect.there has to be a way to report this to the authorities or even file a law suit which I'm seriously considering.....this type of service is completely different unacceptable....people should never be treated like this and neglected when you go there to be taken care of where your life and health is at stake.....I have been told a few times I have anxiety but I know its more than that, I get judged now....I went to twin cities which is related to fwb medical center and told them I was having trouble breathing and I wax waiting 15 minutes to be scene, another time they didnt examine me and just gave me a script for antibiotics.....so now anytime i have what seems like an emergency, I have no faith any any doctors in this area at all.

That's why they get 3 stars. Never got my cardiac diet straight so I had to order what I knew to be right and count my sodium myself. Never got meds on time. I had to write it down and remind them. Still would be late. My nurse was the best. She saved me. She honestly knew her stuff. She was a traveling nurse. Go figure. After all said and done..I play hell getting them to release my records to all my specialist. Double edged sword. I lived. They suck.

Waited from 10am to 5 pm to receive fluids for being severely dehydrated during my pregnancy causing 2 weeks of vomiting and diarrhea. Was finally moved to a bed in the hall waiting for the fluids. Was in the hall about 30 minutes before finally being hooked up. The check-in counter fellow was rude and dismissive, but John Paul was my IV guy and he was so personable and nice. Dr. J Raja finally was able to come by and showed her care and concern for my condition and I appreciated her as well. Don't love the process, but John Paul and Dr. J made the visit better.

I have been to so many hospitals due to health issues and this one just simply exceeded my expectations.. to whom ever is in charge of this place amazing job on the crew and standards you uphold! It takes a lot for people to show compassion these days but not here it came so natural and I m forever grateful!!!

Could not ask for a better experience. Staff were prompt, courteous and efficient. The physician Dr. Wilson was very thorough explaining everything to me. I was in and out of the Er in two hours. Thank-you for your care during my time of illlness.

I'm a snowbird from Michigan. When I had a medical issue early on a Saturday morning I when to ER. I was totally impressed with how fast I was taken in, interviewed and was in an exam room. Within a few minutes a nurse practioner saw me and took care of my issue, gave me a prescription and a follow up appointment with a Dr. on Monday. All this before we were asked about insurance.

My daughter had her first baby here a few days ago. The nurses was very nice and helpful to her and her family. We drove 14 hours to get to see them every time the nurse checked on my daughter they made sure there was nothing we needed they could help with. They made sure she had everything she needed while there and sent her home with stuff to help get her started. It was nice to not have to go straight to the store to get to go home. Some of her nurses was supper nice and just the best ladies in the world.

Just left the ER with my child. This is the best ER in the area (and I have been to all of them at one time or another). The staff was very friendly, the service was outstanding and the rooms were spotless!! They say they are doing a major renovation and expansion to the hospital. This is such great news for our community and for all the tourist who travel to our area. You won't find better nurses or physicians anywhere!!

Another great visit this morning. Thank you taking such great great of my daughter!

My daughter went to the Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center while on vacation with friends complaining of a stomach ache. She was in the facility for a total of 90 minutes of which almost an hour in the waiting room. She was charged over $300 to be seen and then we received a bill, including the doctors bill, for almost $5,000! Two x-rays cost over $1,500 without the separate bill for the radiologist. Seem as though unnecessary tests were done and the charges were outrageous. Would definitely never go there again.

Came to the emergency room and was taken to the express care side. The first part went fairly quick and everyone seemed considerate, come 9 pm we were told the doors locked and my husband and infant daughter left and then came back and were told in or out and that they didn't want to have to keep opening the door for them so they are now waiting in the parking lot for me. The PA planned to do ct scan and give fluids, over an hour and a half has passed so far, no fluids, no scan. I have no call button and I've been inside their linen room/hospital room now without anyone even checking on me during that time. I'm so disappointed that I trusted FWBMC with my care.

I had the experience of staying in their psychiatric facility for week. In that time the nursing staff was completely rude and dismissive of all patient needs. The rooms were dirty and bathrooms were filthy. I had a nurse by the name of Dr. Purdy disclose my private health information out loud to a table full of other patients, Which I believe is a HIPPA violation. I'm thinking of calling and filing a complaint. There psychiatric unit really needs an overhaul. Thanks for revealing my private health information to everyone, embarressing me and making me feel like I was less than human.

If I could give this hospital no stars I would.

If I could give this hospital no stars I would.
1. My grandmother was in here with organ failure and they forgot to give her her medication until they asked HER if she recieved her meds at 5 in the afternoon and still was given no assistance or medication.
2. My boyfriend came in the er basically unconscious and they made us wait 6 hours in the waiting room while a child with a bruise on his arm from falling who had been there not even an hour was taken back before us when my boyfriend's eye was so swollen he and in so much pain he could barely even function (from a probable spider bite) because they had better insurance.
Not to mentiom the man who has been throwing up in the er for 8 hours waiting to be seen while people who don't look nearly I'll enough or have minor back ache were being taking to be examined before people with SERIOUS problems. A women even cussed a nurse out that her son didn't need to be taken back and my boyfriend or the I'll man should be taken back first.
3. None of the doctors or nurses have any idea what the hell they are doing or talking about when it comes to any sort of treatment. They treat you like you're crazy due to their utter lack of education and knowledge on their part so you go home way too early and you end up with a worse case of whatever you had before you even came in.
And these aren't even all the incidents. These are only a few of many utterly unpleasant visits. I've never ONCE had a good visit or even been treated properly.
If you can go anywhere else, please go elsewhere.
This facility is disgustingly understaffed. I'd rather the techs diagnose me than the actual physician's.

I only came in for lab work recently, which I've been having done at the hospital for years. In an effort to make the process "more efficient" the last couple of visits have somehow taken twice as long as they ever did before.

I went to the ER during the summer 2017 while on vacation. I arrived around 8pm checked into triage, vitals were taken then sat in the ER for approximately 3 hours. I was then called back into the ER and placed in the hallway on a stretcher and not addressed by any staff member or medical professional. After about 45 minutes, I decided to leave due to not get any medical attention. I got the attention of a medical professional and shared I was leaving and left. I went to the ER that night due to becoming very ill while on vacation.

I later received a bill from the hospital and I have been disputing their charges. The hospital had a total charge of $2106.00 for my visit. I have contacted the hospital several times asking for itemized bill and disputing some of the charges but I ve not been successful in talking with anyone on this issue. I have written a letter and my dispute was denied. I called back last week and was told they have not received a letter and told to fax a letter. The fax number I was given is not a working fax number.

I feel the hospital was not professional the night I went to the ER or while trying to discuss my concerns with any office or billing professional. I do not recommend this hospital due to poor service. Also, hospital is charging me for services I didn t receive.

I rushed to the ER after complications at my doctors office. I had a short wait in the hall but they quickly found me a room. I was in extreme pain. They quickly reduced my pain and kept checking in. Things escalated I was put in in patient care over night. Over the course of 24 hours I had 3 nurses who were amazing! Always pleasant, knew my charts and status. I was extremely happy with the level of care I was given. My doctor was very attentive and honest about what was happening. I m happy I was treated at this facility. I could keep going on.. very happy with my care.

I had an awful experience in Psyc unit there! Conditions there are terrible. Food awful hated Dr. Sewer flies in my bathroom dragging people into time out.unrealistic! Never saw anything like it in my life so very sad coed floor. Man in bed with me screaming for help. No one rushed! Can't reach help buttons after they knock you out for the night taking meds there never took in my life! I am going to speak to an attorney about the conditions and treatment there. No wonder why people would rather die than be admitted there. I do have to say one thing nurses on floor were good not saying much about their ER nurses. OMG I came home after 2 long days there. I was vomiting so bad it sounded like I was pouring water in the toilet that's how bad it was I caught something in that God Forsaken place there long enough to bring the virus home. There are also tons of prisoners there. They took my shampoo conditioner hair brush deoderant rather than start anything I let it go. Lost contact solution also rummaged through my wallet for insurance card they have wrong info and need to call me to get it corrected I don't think they should be paid period. Treated me terrible Dr Harrison is a something else OMG that women knew as well as myself I did not need to be there. I needed to be put on a medical unit. She knew nothing about me. Telling me my conditions are not real how dare her she was clueless as to my medical problems and surgeries Appalling woman. The state needs to close down entire unit its filthy dirty and disgusting as well. Get rid of your Sewer fly problem they been there a while gross!!!"

Worst care I have ever received. I will never go back. The staff does not care about the safety of patients. They want to do the bare minimum to get you in and out in the least amount of time possible.

Only putting one star because I have to .5-6 Hour wait as usual . Sitting outside in hallway but aside from the constantly and experiences my nurse Aubrey was one of the GREATEST nurses . Checking on me constantly and helping us with our wait . Definitely the best nurse I've came in contact with at FWBMc

worst hospital ever! i went in at 11:30 pm with severe pain in my lower abdomen. sat in the er, crying from the pain, until 4:30 am! was put in a room in the er and told to put on a gown , asked for a blanket and one never came. stuck my head out the curtain and asked for a blanket again after 40 min and also asked if i could please be seen by someone because my pain was unbearable. Nurse said "we are very busy tonight, someone will be with you" then sat back down to talk to another nurse about her dogs! ended up getting dressed and walking out without ever seeing a dr. horrible HORRIBLE place!

Worst hospital experience I have EVER had. My boyf...

Worst hospital experience I have EVER had. My boyfriend has been admitted for 5 days now for uncontrollable vomiting and fever for a few days prior to me taking him to the ER. We waiting in the ER for over 12 hours in the HALLWAY before they were able to get him a room. What we thought was food poisoning turned into an infection in his blood. We ve had numerous nurses who take more than 20 minutes to get to the room when he needs something. Only one nurse really seemed to care about him and his needs, so thank God for her. We ve had three different doctors come and go, and only one (Dr. Kade) seems to actually know what is going on. It s so frustrating seeing your loved one suffering in pain without any answers while the nurses and doctors are nowhere to be found. I guess we re driving to Pensacola next time we have an emergency.

Was here for myself about a month ago and gave a great review. Today I am here for my wife. The staff is very friendly and helpful. But someone needs to learn about time management. We were told to be here by 730. It is now 1100 and she is still waiting to go into surgery. Check in and prep was about 30 minutes. Not sure what they use to justify the other 3 hours of waiting. It's not right. Entire staff is awesome. I believe it is the doctors office that schedules the time to be here.

Overall it was a horrible experience. The ER STAFF were so unprofessional and the ER DOCTOR as well. I could hear them talking about myself and each of the patients in extremely disrespectful ways. My name was said enough out loud and my condition discussed to the point a patient that was there knew who I was and told someone else etc and my community knew I was there before my family knew.

As I write this I have been on hold for 45 minutes after calling the main # here, 862-1111. Message is "please continue to hold and someone will be with you momentarily." 45+ MINUTES!!!! To the main #!!! How can management allow this???? That's not to mention the message I left last week and never got a return call, nor the minutes I was on hold this morning, then they hung up on me!! Most fustrating. Close to an hour now & still no answer. I am tempted to hold and see how long before I get an answer, if ever. But no, at my limit.
Really seems as if switchboard is lazy or inept and just not picking up calls. Or maybe the phone system needs to be replaced. Over an hour now......

The woman at the ER who saw my child was very rude and demeaning to not only us but the entire staff. I'm not sure of her title but she thought she was chief and wanted everyone to know it. The woman asked why we even bothered coming in. We inquired if our child would be admitted, concerned that we might be sent off with no treatment, and reiterated the severity of her condition. Her response? "Well you aren't doctors." Very unprofessional. As she walked down the hall barking orders at staff she roughly pushed an elderly man sitting alone in a wheelchair out of her way. Over 12 hrs later (still sitting in ER) was told they'd bring child food. She wasn't brought a plate until the next day. One nurse would tell us she was getting admitted then someone else would say she wasn't going to be admitted and so on throughout the night. No treatment or answers given in the ER. Just sat all night wishing we'd have gone elsewhere. The left didn't know what the right was doing. She eventually was admitted and upon discharge (a few days later) we were sent home with the WRONG patients paperwork containing all of their personal information (HIPAA violation). Management needs to take a step back and critically evaluate this department.

ER Doctors should be in network. You take advantage of people who
have insurance and it is not fair.
