Most of the teachers on here are very rude and will not answer your questions when you email them or text them and will not answer phone calls. I understand they're busy but even on days that they're working it's still an issue. I feel like the teachers here are lazy and don't like to help their students, you're basically on your own and this school is only good if you need to retake a class or want to choose an elective. If you are struggling with a class and don't understand it much I wouldn't recommend taking the class the teachers barely help and this is an issue I have had with multiple flvs teachers.

i enjoy this program and it is a good way of making up classes and im happy to have this opportunity the only issue is most of the work is very mundane and uninteresting if the work was more invloveing by that i mean interactive, interesting ,and informative it may be less of burdan just a little more creativity i think would due wonders for FLVS

The reason I changed to this school is because of a terrible last school, this school is certainly better, but it still has many flaws. Two examples are the DBA's and Collaboration assignments. I understand they want to make sure you know what you need to, but all it is is a test over the phone. And collaborations have no point other than to boost the score of slower students. Also, for a school based online, they really have a poorly made website. Whether it be not including things needed for the quiz/assignment, or just plain bad programming. If your child moves slower than most, or faster than most, this is a decent school to go to if you don't want it to be torture for them. Otherwise, don't put your child in this school.

I thought being homeschooled would be much more flexible than being in school, but it's a million times worse than that. They give you lesson pages to read from and zoom classes (which are confusing because instead of doing a live lesson for each lesson on every module they do two per module.) And for math class, you have to be in the second module to gain access to live classes, therefore I've been trying to learn on my own using khan Academy. The teachers here are decent, but they call way too much! I have a personal life too, I can't juggle 21 assignments a week and have a social life at the same time!

I can't believe the bad reviews, FLVS is the best schooling experience you could ask for, you're safe at home, the teachers are amazing, the clubs give homeschooled students a social experience, the courses are quick, fun, informative and easy once you get the hang of. Wonderful school, ignore the bad reviews, if I didn't find it until 6th grade, I would have been part of it all my life and I plan to stay part of it until the end of high school. Great job teachers, staff and faculty! What you do with FLVS is amazing and is very appreciated!

Inconsistency at its finest, ladies and gentlemen....

Inconsistency at its finest, ladies and gentlemen. Ever since joining this program (been with it since 2013-2015) a have never had so much remorse as I do now.
Let's begin.
To fully start my review, I would like to point out that this is not a work at your own pace program. You have a minimum of at least 3 assignments per week, sounds alright, correct? Wrong. You will get classes that require 8 assignments a week. I have had 10 at the max, so be weary of that.
Secondly, online teaching is horrendous. I expected well made videos to give a more "in class" environment. Granted, you have some videos, but they are poorly made with terrible teaching techniques.
Third, teachers are a hit or miss. You get some great teachers that corporate and understand, at other times you will get horrendous uptight attitudish teachers. There are DBA s (discussion based assessments) over the phone, which can be a hit or miss as well. Some teachers will explain and help with each module (set of chapters) in the book, or, you will get teachers who will hound down questions and if you do not get the question s correct, you are out of luck. Better luck next time as you won t be able to take your module exam because they are held up prisoner by passwords. It is quite unintuitive, and rather unnecessary. Especially with I, being a Junior, doing DBA s get requests to talk to my parents as if they do not know what is going on with my grades. It makes me feel like I am a child, how is that supposed to set me up for the future of the outside world?

Anyways, let me continue with what I began my review with inconsistency. This. Inconsistency is this programs 10/10.
Story time. Last Thursday, 15-Jan, was the deadline for Segment 1. Justifiable, correct? I accepted that I was behind in my classes and bit the bullet to work day and night to catch up. I keep working, but it is Wednesday night and I do not think I will be able to get some classes done. Thursday comes, extension! Yay! This is until 22-Jan. I keep working everyday to get these classes done, 1 done. 2, 3 , 4. It is Thursday. I am disappointed that I did not get to finish these classes as I am working as hard as I can to finish them on this January 22nd day. I get a email, that specifically states this:

All segments of all courses must be completed by noon, June 4th, 2015.

I have hope. This means I will not get kicked out. It says all Segments, for all classes due June 4th. This is good. Friday comes by, get a call and got told All students needed to be done by Friday, January 23 and 12:00 (noon). When did I get told this? I never got told this. First, I work day and night till Thursday (22nd). I get that email that states -All Segments- (1 and 2) have to be completed by June 4th.

Because of this inconsistency, I am getting withdrawn.

Terrible. Terrible service, I highly recommend to stay away from this program. I do not suggest it one bit, you will have bitter remorse. Please, be advised to stay away.

From personal experience FLVS sucks.

From personal experience FLVS sucks.
The teacher's ignore you and most of the time
and if they dont, are not allowed to help.
Every week your behind they take percentage's away,
and most of the time they do not reach-out.
although FLVS flex was not bad.

I hated taking online courses on this website. It says in the description, "work at your own pace" when it is literally the complete opposite. This class had me so stressed knowing that I had to turn in certain things at certain times. I would've felt a lot better if they hadn't lied about that. I get that of course school is stressful, but this company could have made this website a lot better by actually doing what it says.

FLVS is incredible!!! Yes you have to build self discipline and commit yourself to learning. Its a great discipline to have. My son has done it and been with FLVS for 3 years with great scores on EOCs. Beyond that, Latin and English gave him a great SAT score!!! He used nothing else to study just diligence on his courses. They are time consuming, there's layers of information to read through and solve. I gave up my expectations that he could finish quickly its just not possible. Maybe a few courses are simple but not core and certainly not Honors. He scans and uploads his work but keeps most of it in files on his laptop which he transfers to thumb drive. He has never had trouble submitting his work. Sounds like a personal hardware or software issue with the load of complaints. Teachers are very pleasant. I do speak with them briefly and they are always nice.

This school has been one of the worst choices ive ever made it sets the student up for pure failure if fail to complete a certain thing by a certain deadline you are not allowed to take a test then failing you for it contacting home about it because the tests are password locked and at the end of the smester all things must be passed and turned in or your grade is either not finalized and they dont let you take the end of semster test therefore failing you even more not to mention the sheeer overweleming amoubt of work due in one week if you are parent looking to put yyour child in this DO NOT

To start with, FLVS has been a terrible experience for me. Numerous hours put into trying to register. I've been calm with FLVS support, not being rude, explaining clearly but yet once i get to the problem i'm having, the person hangs up on me. It's annoying every time I call I have to wait awhile just for the person to hang up............just plain bad service.

this is the most wacked out, broken, money focused, useless, stressful, time consuming, and regressive system i've ever had to take. the execution of the calls (welcome,DBA,monthly, etc.) is the worst system i've ever used. the teachers are most of the time either pushovers or completely ignorant. i do not see this being a effective source of learning for anyone out there who wishes to advance in life with the proper information required to make it in this world thats constantly advancing past the ways of the olden days in which everything was focused on getting people into factory jobs. the school system all together needs a revamp. this program has answer keys open to the public from 3rd party sites. granted you have to search for a while. and they cant even enforce academic integrity for those sites since they are screen shotted answers that require hand reviewing each and every assignments. thats all i have to say i hope you eventually improve the program but now its a terrible program.

Flvs is a absolute joke among public education. The lessons do not line up with the test in some cases, you cannot work at you own pace, and your course will one of the most frustrating experiences you will have the displeasure of having to complete. I've had teachers that will respond within the hour but some that have taken days to answer a question.

A great online learning curve program, compared to other states virtual schools, this one really has a different motive. All the teachers are rlly nice, and are always their when u need help. I took world history with Mr.Enrique Irizarry, he was great. Never had to schedule a DBA, answered almost immediately, and with his help I managed to finish the course in half the time!

Does this school have any concern for us students ...

Does this school have any concern for us students in general? I haven't done my English work for months, and with my old teacher recently replaced even the new one doesn't have concern for me. Also I do not understand why we take English at all. Books are good but why study them with all that literacy crap they taught us to use? It makes reading books just for entertainment much worse for me. Just the idea of reading a good book then being told to study the book word for word, line by line, page by page, cover to cover makes it much more stressful. This might explain why some students agree that English is their worst subject; not just their grades, but idea of it in general. (Take your time responding. This is something you guys at FLVS should really think about.)

I ve been with FLVS since the age of 11 now going on 19. It has always been a struggle for me but I ve seem to push through and finish my classes. I never understood if it was the program itself that was lacking or just me myself that wasn t as motivated for my classes. This year was supposed to be my graduation year and I started trying my best to finish. I decided to contact my guidance counselor for information on my graduation date (which she never contacts me and it s always seems as if I ve fallen through the cracks as a student but I digress). But once I contacted her, she told me that I had 4 1/2 more credits. This didn t at all sit right with me since I spoke with this guidance counselor last year about the needed classes and she specifically told me that I only needed 6 more classes to finish. She now is telling me that she did not mean that and now has bumped me back to 11th grade with the graduation date of spring 2022. School has always been a struggle with me since I ve dealt with mental health and physical health issues most of my life and I finally felt as if I was about to succeed and achieve past a huge road block in my life. SEVEN YEARS I ve been with this school and none of the guidance counselors have reached out to help me to figure out how to reach the end goal. The teachers as well hound me constantly to finish my work without even wondering if my personal life might have a effect on my progress. My guidance counselor told me that I could either finish getting these 4 1/2 credits or get my GED so now I have to push myself past my limit and be stuck with high school while pushing the age of 20.

so far its just been terrible, the assignments are very hard, and the teacher expects complete and utter 100% correction on them or you'll end up with a D like me. This has really made me consider dropping out. Also, what happened to doing my assignments at my own pace huh? Please don't advertise that to teachers and such when its not true.

I didn't learn anything new at all. All I learned is that FLVS cares about the grades and if we turn in the work instead of the students learning anything. I m scared that someone would call and say I didn t turn in any work that won't even help me in the future at all. FLVS has some of us stressed, depressed, and anxiety to spice it up. I can't turn in all 50-60 assignments in just a few weeks before semester 2 starts. I only had 2 teachers that actually helpful (kinda). The other teachers especially my photograph teacher keeps on calling each week and I always get scared. The rest don't help me with my work at all. And one teacher doesn't respond at all along with a rude attitude. I'm 13 and in 8th grade. From my experience, I DO NOT RECOMMEND taking FLVS. Unless if you want to fail and make u feel like you're useless. I would put more information but I have to catch up with my other 50-60 assignments or even more. This school almost made me run away from my problems with my grades and catching up. I hope I do not stay back in FLVS. I really want to switch to face to face or connect at least. Time to raise my anxiety even more and get more depressed and stressed!

At first it was easy and the teachers answered right away but now it is so stressful and the teacher take a week to answer. The only thing god that came out of this was better grades. Now it two months before summer and I'm being withdraw-ed from both history segments and have to start all over and finish before June so i don't have to do summer school.

Awesome teachers, curriculum, and overall virtual school program!! My son is enjoying FLVS Flex for 7th grade. Love the flexible schedule. The teachers respond quickly whenever he has a question. The programs and content are exceptional! It's one of the choices for virtual school for many public schools, not just in Florida. Highly recommend as an excellent choice for home school/virtual.

Honestly, i haven't learned ONE thing. Nothing, at all. My teacher decides to come to my school and constantly gossip about me saying i have a bad attitude!? If i could rate FLVS a zero, i would rate it 10 times just to make sure! I hate it so much, its HORRIBLE!

There is absolutely no problem with flvs. I have no idea how some of these problems are occurring for other people. The teachers are very nice and patient, as well as very understanding. The lessons and assignments are simple enough and you can move with your own pace. I haven't had any problems at all.

Giving two stars, because I know the teachers are decent, but I'm beyond frustrated. My son hasn't been able to log into his account all week. We sent there IT an email, since good luck trying to get anyone on the phone. I got an email back yesterday saying they received my "ticket number".. That's great and all, but I just want his account reset so he can actually get back in there to do his work, so he doesn't get further behind than he already is. Giving we're in the midst of a pandemic, I don't understand why there isn't more help in the tech department call center for that matter. Surely you're receiving more funding now as I'm sure your student load has increased. Maybe put the money towards expanding your team instead of other interests. Thanks!!!

Very outdated website. Helpless teachers who won t respond until a whole day, or even multiple days have passed. The website is not user friendly at all, in fact, it often says my login information is incorrect when it isn t. The content taught IS NOT the same as what is taught in the classroom, which is a major disadvantage. I have had three courses through FLVS, and I have not enjoyed any of them due to the lack of effort put into this system. Mrs. Johnson was such a bad teacher that I eventually forced to be switched to another teacher (who was amazing). My AP Psych teacher never enrolled me into the course and never contacted me. She also refuses to help me get access to the e-text. The sites are hard to navigate and are often down. (Post-corona madness). It is a big let down. I will not be using FLVS again. Three times and it has failed. Do not recommend.

My high schooler took several math courses through FLVS and it was not a good experience. The teachers were always on break or unavailable when she needed them. It was not laid out well and did not have enough instruction time or review for concepts.
Much better experience using Math u See and Teaching Textbooks.

I do not understand the stress comments. FLVS eliminates stress by allowing work to be done at your own pace and from anywhere. My 8th grader has learned more this year than the last 3 combined. By working independently he is much less distracted. Grades are received quickly which allows him to stay motivated. DBA's are a breeze with all of the study guides provided. If you cannot succeed in FLVS, traditional school will be a nightmare.

FLVS is aids. DO NOT stick your child in this cancerous "school". The teachers (most of them. I did have one good teacher. Shout out Mrs Cox) are awful. Most are rude and act like they hate their job (which I understand because this school is trash). I've taken multiple courses with FLVS and all except one were about the equivalent of getting my limbs cut off one by one. I did have one good English class and my teacher was Mrs. Cox so give that woman a round of applause. Everyone i have talked to say FLVS is cancer. Do you and your child a favor and run as far away from this school as possible.

I honestly don't know why this school has a 2.5 star rating. I loved it and so did my son. I wish some circumstances could change so he can go back! The teachers always showed concern and reached. This was my favorite school by far that my son has attended.

Its okay to do if you have nothing else to do, but if you do something over the weekends and then have this class to do, then you might as well drop out, they give you unrealistic goals each week to complete assignments that would have taken me weeks to complete at regular school.

It is very unorganized and they give you NO time at all to learn the lesson!! This does not help anyone! I learned nothing at all. The teachers are very nice though but its very confusing and they done write there problems well which makes it very confusing.

I feel like my initial decision to start FLVS was ...

I feel like my initial decision to start FLVS was a horrible mistake, and it resulted in me being a year behind and having to take 5 years to finish high school, but I accept full responsibility for that because I wasn't on pace and I never contacted my teachers. However, from later experiences, I have found that if you at least do SOMETHING once a week or so, you will usually not end up getting withdrawn from a course, even if you don't necessarily make the 3-4 a week cutoff. All in all, this isn't something I would recommend for someone who is not self-driven or who needs someone to prod them into working, because you will have to rely solely on your own willpower and motivation.

Now let's move on to the specific courses. In general, math and science classes do not have much busywork associated with them, and are composed of mostly tests and quizzes, which I really appreciate, but the trade-off here is that it is absolutely miserable for someone to teach themselves math and physical sciences (such as Chemistry and Physics) without actually seeing a problem for themselves, but the presence of Help Sites and Live Lessons somewhat mitigate that, I guess. Because I wasn't aware of these when I took Geometry, one of my first courses, I unfortunately ended up with a low B as my final grade for semester 1. I ended up switching into Geometry at my physical school and received a semester 2 grade of 96% (A) and a 5 on the EOC. In Chemistry 1 Honors, I relied a lot on the Chemistry Help Site to see how problems were supposed to be done. This really helped; I got a perfect score on the Module 4 Honors Exam (which was basically a bunch of Stoichiometry and Limiting Reactant problems) and a 96% on the Segment 1 Exam due to how well the videos explained concepts. Due to the fact that it takes a very long time to properly master math and science concepts online, I would think it's basically impossible to power through math and science classes and finish them in weeks, unlike electives or foreign language classes. There are also lab reports in the science classes, and while these might be a bit more annoying than tests, they're pretty straightforward.

The English and Social Studies classes, in general, were more aggravating. Rather than being composed of mostly tests/quizzes, like the math and science classes, they consisted of numerous "assignments" as well as quizzes and tests. These assignments were often extremely tedious and unnecessary. I have taken Dual Enrollment US History, Spanish III Honors, and AP English Language at my physical school, and assignments from those classes were more concise and less convoluted than the ones I had the displeasure of encountering in standard FLVS classes. Please, please, PLEASE, FLVS, if there's one piece of advice you take from this review and change, *either shorten the assignments for History and English classes or adopt the same 90% test approach you use in your STEM classes. If you must have the "assignments", I suggest something agreeable such as vocab study guides or worksheets that students can complete easily and quickly.* One assignment on FLVS can take upwards of an hour. AP Human Geography was the worst offender for me because not only did it have numerous time-consuming assignments, but it contained ridiculously long "Geo Journals" that were supposedly to help for the AP exam, but consisted of several annoying questions I felt wouldn't help at all.

Electives and Foreign Language classes have always been quick and easy. No regrets or complaints here. However, I wouldn't recommend taking a level 1 foreign language class on FLVS because it can be really hard to understand grammar rules and such without seeing/hearing them in person, but if you already have a solid foundation and some knowledge of grammar/pronunciation, feel free.

Teachers are nice; I've had no major issues with almost all of them.

I'm disappointed with the course selections. Flex really needs *AP World History, AP Physics 1/2, AP Chemistry, AP Spanish, AP French, and level 3/4 foreign language courses.*

OK, this is gonna be a very honest review here. I ...

OK, this is gonna be a very honest review here. I think that this is actually a pretty good alternative, if you have the guts. When you see reviewers of this that have given it a bad score are mainly because they couldn't handle the work. This is less work than regular school no doubt, but the work is all within your hands. So if you don't get things done, that is completely on you. I have been using FLVS for about 5 months and I actually doing full time virtual school, but I feel that the average Joe will have trouble at first with FLVS like I did. I had the idea in my head to kind of laze around a little bit and I got bit in the ass for it, and that is my fault, but frankly I still don't regret my decision to go full time. I of course work harder now and I am on a plan to finish 9th grade by winter, and that is possible. This is really a collage simulator in a lot of ways since you need to be on top of your work at all times. You have to submit only 3 assignments a week in each class, which really isn't too hard because you can easily set up a basic plan were on certain days you only work on certain classes and get the work done each week very fast and easy. I just think that this is a system that is ahead of it's time and people are probably not determined enough to get things done or to find a system in which they get things done. If you are a person that can handle yourself and get things done in a timely fashion, and if regular school is really too slow and restricted, this is for you. If you struggle to make c's or b's in a regular school, stray away because you will get slammed and mess up somewhere early in the line. This really separates the men form the boys, and I think that's a good thing.

Only took a class since it was required by my school. I hate it. it talks about working at your own pace, that's a terrible lie, if you don't turn in a certain amount of assignments each week you are on the verge of being kicked out. Additionally, I've had problems in my life where i am not able to turn in assignments, so i go to call my teacher only to find out, they are not my teacher anymore. During this time of my class I've had a total of 11 teachers! how am i suppose to keep up with that. They don't answer the phone when you need them to, and when they call back it is always at a terrible time. The assignments are boring and annoying. You have to do collaboration projects and its always hard to find someone to do a collaboration with you. i would not recommend FLVS.

The amount of work that is needed to be complete for courses is a little over kill. I love the fact that i was taking a Algebra 2 course and it was asking me calculus, and trigonometry questions. Teachers don't work with students at all and think we have all the time in the world for there class when we have six other classes to take care of everyday. So happy that I'm graduating so I no longer have to deal with FLVS. I hope you fix your problems so other students don't have the same experience.

I am 15 years old, have a part-time job, help my parents with their business, take guitar lessons (and practice guitar daily), and was looking for a better pace/place to work at. This of course, was most definitely not the case with FLVS Flex. I have previously been withdrawn from one of my classes without any warning or reason but had it resolved once the support team had enough brain cells to comprehend the situation (one week later). I understand that we must have a minimum amount of work per week but I'm receiving a lot more work than I can handle right now. The curriculum is an absolute joke and you'll never learn what you did wrong on a multiple-choice question. Now I know I'll receive an automated message as the people in FLVS have no care in the world for their students but this is a warning for anyone considering FLVS.

On a side note, I've been dealing with anxiety and depression for over a year and the stress that could be put on you will only amplify negative thoughts and emotions.

This is how FLVS works:

This is how FLVS works:
Don't worry about working hard to complete over 100 assignments and maintain a high grade, since just one exam could erase that hard work.

FLVS real model:
"Join FLVS now! But if you fail 1 assignment all of your work will be for nothing."

I don't mind taking the final exam, I just don't think it's fair that I lose all of my hard work over 1 test. Even state exams like the EOC are not like the FLVS model.

I tried FLVS flex for a summer forensics course and was extremely disappointed. I was told I needed to make progress each week and on my first week I submitted an assignment but forgot to do a part of the questions. I immediately tried to cancel or edit the assignment submission upon realizing this and couldn't find anything (You can't!). I then messaged my teacher and she gave me an F. The next week, I went to do my week's progress and found that I was withdrawn for not making progress! I was told I had to have it by the end of the week, they never said by Friday. And how is it FLEX if you can't work on weekends? Will not re-try, highly discourage using

Overall my experience has been so stressful, I have failed my classes, the teachers give you so little information then expect you to take an average of two quiz's a week. The zoom calls lag terribly and you get booted off if there are to many people and you miss the lesson, and when you get the recorded lesson it is so late in the day you are busy with other things. I wish I could give this a zero star review, I am very disapointed.

The whole work at your own pace thing is a complete lie. In one of my classes I have to complete at least 4 assignments a week or they threaten to remove me from the class. So inconvenient and not built for someone in school. No real help from the teachers. Having to complete four large assignments a week with full school load and work from other classes is too much. It took three weeks for them to even get me in the class and I would never tell anyone to try this.

I recommend using FLVS if you are trying to get through school without actually learning anything. How such a low stared, useless website is still in business or even thought as an effective way to teach the world's future is beyond me. FLVS is a great way for you or your kid to bs their way through school and get a decent GPA. FLVS, and other virtual schools, is a great way to teach the future adults of our world how to copy and paste, click the button submit, and open a new tab! All these things that FLVS teaches is very important because knowing how to copy and paste, click submit, and open new tabs is all you need to know to contribute to society :D. I'm comfortable knowing that the future leaders of our world could've been educated through a virtual machine not based on the content of their character or the content of their brain, but by the content of their ability to copy and paste.

currently enrolled. probably the biggest regret of my life was transferring out of an amazing school to here. The only reason I transferred here was because of covid and I thought this was the best choice. the teachers are alright but the way the lesson webpages are designed are TERRIBLE. yeah you can resubmit assignments but it takes days to weeks for your teacher to review, grade , review resubmit. then you multiply that by 6 courses everyday. I'm usually a very advanced student but switching here i have had struggle taking just the reg courses. It is completely understandable why it take the teachers so long since they have so many students but this really just means flvs is understaffed and are putting way to much on everyone's plate. I've given up on trying to do well here and instead have been focusing my time on how to get out of here.

It saddens me to read all of these low rated reviews! It also pains me to read about the stress levels of fellow students of mine. I've taken several FLVS courses, and loved each of them! Each one has challenged me, which is why I have limited myself to a maximum of four courses at a time-otherwise I get stressed as well. Every teacher I have encountered repsonded to my emails/assignments within 24 hours, and almost always returned my calls. I found the format of the courses to be user-friendly, and I didn't find that submitting four assignments a week to be a huge challenge. Granted, you are expected to take the information from the lessons and apply it for yourself- but as mentioned before, the teachers respond to any and all of your questions in my experience. I plan on taking nine courses this school year, and my first two are off to a great start. Thank you FLVS! I don't think I could have homeschooled this year without you! I would love the addition of Spanish 3 and Spanish 4, but I have a feeling you guys are planning to set those courses in place in the near future. Thanks again! Keep up the great work! :)

I have been a full time FLVS student for over 7 years now and I have experienced all of FLVS. When i first started in 7th grade i honestly liked it and i did not mind doing it. But now it has changed, Its not about learning for me any more its about trying desperately to pass these horribly taught classes that I have too stress about at night and I have to lay awake fearing another horrible day with FLVS. The teachers are not helpful and are just there so they can get an extra paycheck. I would never recommended FLVS to anybody as a full time student and I feel sorry for anybody that had to suffer as I did.

Flvs is the worst type of schooling imaginable, I am taking a class so I can be boosted to a higher level class next year in regular school, which I highly regret. I took Latin in flvs before, and I learned nothing. The examples were very bad, and it just listed words, a button to hear it out loud, and a meaning. This is supposed to be education, not a kids hear it say it book. The Algebra 2 course is somewhat acceptable, the assignments and exams, and acceptable style, but the workload is unimaginable, and the website is terrible, it lags and crashes chrome, which I originally thought was my computer, so I switched to my mother's laptop, and the same thing happened, it times you out (What kind of website times you out? Is someone going to walk up to your computer while your in the bathroom and answer your questions and submit or something??), and the timing for the time outs it horrible. I was taking a 10-question assignment, I graphed out the questions and all, and when I clicked submit, it told me I was timed out and redirected me to a login page that didn't work. This happens every day! I leave for 10 minutes? Time out. I put my computer to sleep and go to the restroom? Time out. It even reset my assignment without my consent, overall the WORST website system i've ever had the displeasure of coming in contact with. Frankly, im amazed its this widespread.

There are sometimes where Flvs can be stressful. Though I get a little stressed I get though the class. It is great. They like to comment back and give you good feedback but not always accurate. However, there are pro's and con's. I have been doing Flvs since 7th grade and so far so good. Some years were tough but I made it through. Right now i am doing great in school. I have all A's, and i am very excited to finish 9th grade early.

Flvs is one of the most horrendous examples of a b...

Flvs is one of the most horrendous examples of a bad education system in my life. I have a full list of reasons on why this should be your last resort for education. So lets first run down the least offensive. One, they disobey their policy of "At your own pace". It is a joke, pure and simple. Because most of the courses apply a time limit of the amount of work you can do. It is soul crushing to say the least since it applies so much pressure to the student that they panic and contemplate on what they need to do. Two, the interface is too complex. Many times I found myself wondering through the website trying to see my grade or trying to do assignments, and I cannot find the proper input button to use. Three, the teachers. The teachers are just some of the laziest people I have ever met. They can just out right ignore your phone calls. And in some cases kick you out for just making one simple mistake. I cannot forget the amount of vacations they go on. Its just concerning to say the least, because some assignments are locked until they give you permission to take the assignment. Which is entirely luck base. However I do have some good things to say about FLVS. For one the live lessons are great. It makes you believe that you are in a proper classroom setting and the collaborate app, although glitchy, has some neat features that allow for the students to participate. But besides the live lessons......I did not have much fun with this program. I have to say that this should be your last resort. And if you are required to use this website for school, take the drivers ED. It is simple, most of the assignments are incredibly easy to answer and to navigate.

This crap is horrible, after doing work for a week, the teacher withdrawn me after i told her not to. If they gave the option of negative stars, i would've gave them billions of it. Nobody should waste time to do their work just to graduate on time and then be removed from the class days later. When they say You have as much time as you want or "flexibility schedule", its all a freaking lie. Don't waste your time, I would rather be bullied at school doing classes there then doing it on this crappy website.

Absolute worst experience of my life. I've been taking FLVS flex classes since 8th grade. Im currently in 10th taking Biology and Precalc with the flex program. Teachers force you to do 20 assignments a week just to stay on their pace (even tho we are supposedly able to "work at our own pace") or we fail the class. My mood and happiness have both declined heavily since I started these classes. I was doing okay with just calc but when my teacher quit and I had to take biology online as well I couldn't handle it anymore. Now im behind because I have other classes and actual school to worry about yet these teachers act like I have freetime all day everyday with the number of assignments we have to turn in. I am not learning using this program. They just write words down in a slide and you read it. This is not teaching me. Watch the response to this review be "This is not the experience we want you to have. Please email us at flvs.net so we can learn more!" like they developers have responded to every other non complimenting comment. The only good thing about this school, is the open note exams. FLVS is and has been the worst experience of my life so far. I do not recommend any students taking this class. Also, if you're a parent, you're going to want to read student reviews, not parent reviews, because like most other parents with FLVS students, mine don't understand the struggle im going through with this school. ALL PARENTAL REVIEWS ARE IRRELEVANT.

flvs is very stressful and caused a lot of problems in my house i would only recommend this if you have a parent with at all times or a tutor to help you and also if you mind not having a social life this honestly sucks Don't do it !

FLVS was by far the worst teaching experience I have ever had. I took a Spanish 2 course and never learned a thing. I think it's ridiculous that they ask us to do work that isn't even taught in the lesson. Also the fact that they are so vague on all the instructions. Terrible, terrible course. I would never recommend it.

This was possibly one of the biggest mistakes I've made in my entire life and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I'm sure it goes well for some people, but for me it was the absolute opposite.

I joined FLVS for my junior year because school was very stressful for me as I struggled with bad social anxiety. I got the impression this would be good for kids like me but in reality it was even worse than normal school. It's extremely easy to fall behind on work, and from the experiences with teachers I had they aren't very forgiving about falling behind either, even if you do have a busy life. The DBA system is just useless in my eyes as well. It's terrible for kids with anxiety issues who joined to get a break from that kind of social interaction and got the opposite. It wasn't helpful at all and just a huge waste of time + unnecessary stress.

But that's not what my real problem is. I lost most of my second semester because I got locked out of my account and nobody seemed to know how to help me! I called customer service at least twenty times and nobody seemed to know how to help me. I'm not blaming the people as CS though, they're very hard working and patient to be working with a system like this. But after about 4 months I got filed for truancy even though it was entirely not my fault. I couldn't even get into my account! An administrator recommended my mom to put me in the summer program, saying it was a lot more lenient and I could work at my own pace to get my credits back. I got the opposite again though, being put in accelerated pace and getting kicked out of classes after slightly falling behind because I had a lot going on in my family at the moment.

All in all, my experience was terrible and I'm surprised I even got to be promoted as a senior, even if I'm going to have to work twice as hard on e2020 to get back all the time I lost. FLVS does have its good points, though. I think the blackboard program is a really efficient way of doing group work and the site itself was easy to navigate for me. Some of my teachers were genuinely nice and cared about my education (shout out to my Art History teacher). It needs work though, and the people in charge should take into account students with mental illnesses and making alternate options for them as everyone has different ways of learning.

My 13 year old has been in the FLVS Flex program for 2 1/2 years. The curriculum is very strong and well thought -out. There are a wide breadth of courses. This program is a perfect fit for the flexibility my child needs.
