My son decided he was going to do a standard 6th grade math advanced course during the school year. Then took the 7th grade advanced math took during the summer. He really enjoyed it and he advanced personal skills like self motivation and organization. Putting himself forward to organize his time and teacher feedback. Leaving messages for the teachers when he finished an assignment etc. It was a wonderful experience and prepared him well for advanced algebra in 7th grade. Oh since he didn't skip 6th grade advanced math, he was better prepared than many others in the class!
We are now looking into Spanish 1 over the summer because the classroom experience has not been very positive this year.

I think FLVS needs to work on service. I tried calling them through phone. It was very frustrating since they took a while to respond. I also heard that FLVS withdrew a student without her knowledge for not logging in, even though she said there was WiFi issues at her school. They still didn't let her in. They need to work on consistency and reliability.

while attending online courses it is really easy to be stressed all the time. the teachers dont really teach its all on you to learn the content so if you have a hard time staying focused i would not reccomend. i can say that it is convenent however so if you have to get a class done online or for credit recovery you can acess the work 24/7

Pretty meh. The external links tend to not work. I'm in Spanish 2 and using course materials from 2003. It expects me to be calling hotels and travel agencies and such for simple homework.

A good alternative to in person public school. Material is presented in slides mostly and fairly dry, and you can elect to attend about one live lesson in each class each week. Good for self directed or gifted students who don t want to spend an entire class on one concept. Teachers are very communicative and so far all kind (a contrast to regular school experience). It s been a good fit for us for a temporary period when we wanted to make sure there wouldn t be any gaps when he returned to in person school. Allows more time for other activities.

I just want to say first of all the collaborations...

I just want to say first of all the collaborations they force us to do suck. There pointless and are just there for no reason. They make you download something called java to you're computer which is ridiculous like why can't we just join instead of having to go threw the hassle of having to download something. Please just get rid of collaborations because they are just absolutely ridiculous and pointless. We already have dba's (Discussion Based Assessment) to worry about, why make us stress over collaborations and turning them in? I also do not like doing dba's because I have anxiety issues and I don't like talking to people over the phone especially if it's about school and answering questions. I'm always afraid I'm going to get a question wrong, and not be able to take the test. Every time I do get a question wrong the teacher just gives me a time! Right before I was about to do a dba with my teacher he had sent me this email where he wanted me to write what I had learned in the course, like a fill in the blank thing. Well that didn't help at all,and I wind up calling him the next week to do the dba! Plus I never sent an email back to him because honestly I really didn't learn anything in the course AT ALL! (I'm taking history btw). This teacher that I have is just ridiculous! He thinks he's trying to help but he's basically just sending me extra crap! He keeps sending me email's on things he wants me to finish for him but I'm just trying to get assignments and exams turned in, I don't need to worry about that extra crap I don't have time for that! The assignments are just hard they don't explain the instructions very well, So it usually takes me forever to figure out or finish assignments. The exams are fairly easy and I have no problem turning those in. One problem I have with my teacher is him not responding to my emails on time. It's usually until the next day that he replies to my email! Like seriously!? Also every time I call him for dba's or monthly calls, I always seem to get voicemail. Honestly I really think they should get rid of dba's just because some kids have anxiety problems and don't wan't to talk to people over the phone. Also Dba's are just a hassle and a waste of a students time. This completely random lady leaves a message on my phone and it's not even from one of my teacher's (both my teacher's are male). Who the heck is that! She's telling me to turn in assignments or whatever like what the heck?! If one of my teachers needs to talk to me then why don't you leave a message or call me on my phone YOURSELF, instead of having some lady do it for you! That is honestly so unprofessional and just shows you're lazy and just don''t care! My mom was really pissed that they did that too! Overall the website just sucks and I hate that it's a requirement to take flvs if you live in Florida! Sucks that I live in Florida! Either make you're assignments easier to understand and make you're website better and have a better educational system because I honestly feel like I have learned NOTHING from this unprofessional website, Or just go and chunk it!

Only took one course, the teacher was fine, the course and course material unhelpful, feels almost backwards. I'll learn something for a test on the thing and it'll test me on knowledge i only learn in the next section almost every time.

That isn't the biggest problem. THE WEBSITE IS HORRID. It is slow, it doesn't work for me without a VPN. It is incredibly slow and for some reason i need to access 3 pages to be able to complete one assignment which takes up too much time.

It looks like it was built by a 6th grader for a 2-week tech project. Security is horrible, account names and passwords in URLs, I haven't tried yet but I wouldn't doubt that I'd be able to break into it very easily considering the state of it.

I have no clue how they run a business on such a horrible platform that runs and looks as poorly as this does. Had I known what I was getting myself into, I would never have taken the course I did on it.

My son has been at FLVS for 2 1/2 years. We both LOVE it. Online virtual school is definitely not for every child, but it certainly works better for us. He is currently in the 9th grade. As a parent, my favorite thing about FLVS is that the students can often re-do projects and tests to improve their grades and understanding of the material. For example, he had a math exam once. He told me that he was prepared for it. He took the exam and failed it. So, we had the option of either moving on to the next unit (which is pretty much required in a regular classroom) or re-taking the exam. He called his teacher via Skype, she explained everything to him, he re-took the exam and aced it! Yes, he had to do double work to improve his grade, but he learned the material before moving on to the next unit. Two thumbs up!!!!! PS: Lisa Beatty was his awesome 8th grade math teacher!!!!!

Horrible- Registered a month ago- was supposed to start 8/24, then was told it would be no later than 9/7. Well guess what?? Now I am being told they do not have any idea of when it will be. What kind of BS is that?? My daughter is supposed to start FLVS Flex for Kindergarten. You people are HORRIBLE

I like that you can do FLVS at any time of day.... But some teachers I think, don't think that we have a life off screen and can't do assignments as quick as they want us to.... I LOVE my English 2 Teacher, Mrs. Seufert (I might of spelled her name wrong..) But not so much as my world History, Mr.Ratty. I ask questions, and he doesn't give detailed explanations. I really wish I didn't mess up regular school!! I don't LOVE FLVS, but I have some likes..

This has got to be this worst virtual school in hi...

This has got to be this worst virtual school in history. When I was a freshman, I took HOPE on this website during my first and second semesters. They were very vague when it came to instructions, and I got withdrawn from a course because they thought I plagiarized off of someone else's work when I didn't!!!
I am now a senior taking a class on this school under a course called Personal and Family Finance since I'm shy half a credit from graduating, and I can honestly say that this virtual school is getting worse and worse every year. First, when I tried to log in, it wouldn't let me because it was saying my username (megapixelrain) wasn't found in the database. Well, if I weren't in the database, I wouldn't have been able to sign up for a class in the first place, now, would I? Secondly, just when I thought that it was safe, it pulled the same crap on me again by not letting me into the module because of technical difficulties. And last but not least, when I was finished with my second assignment, I was trying to turn it in, but I couldn't...because the course just mysteriously disappeared the next day. Because the HOPE class online was so complex and so horrible, I was forced to take it at my real school, so I'm now the only senior stuck in a class full of freshmen and sophomores for the whole entire first semester. Way to go, Florida Virtual School!!!! D:<
In summation, everything on this school is designed to make you fail. If you're thinking about signing up for a class in this virtual school, please, in the name of everything that is good and holy, DO NOT DO IT OR YOU WILL REGRET IT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!!

It really doesn't live up to its motto "work at your own pace". The teachers will contact your household constantly in anyway they can if you miss an assignment and then they threaten to kick you out of the class. Secondly, just trying to keep up with these redundant lessons and assignments along with actual public school work is a real pain.

Worst experience ever so far. No one answers phone. IT service sucks cause they can even figure out how to have their log in page to work. IT service never answers phones, auto reply says to try back later. If your system can't handle the amount of students then you should limit that amount. They promise you its been worked on but going on 3rd day and still my kids can't study or do any work.

My son Samuel just successfully completed his course with Ms. Hall-Donley. He s tried before to take a FLVS course unsuccessfully (he was younger and probably not mature enough for self-directed work), so this is the first time he s finished a course. Ms. Hall-Donley was great communicating with both me and Samuel, keeping him on track, and working with him to finish the course. We appreciate her great work.

Making it extremely hard for me to graduate high school, harder than regular classes in school. If you cite your sources you will get plagiarized. Teachers don't work with you nor around your schedule. Horrible.

Choosing FLVS was a great decision for our family. Left a private school in the middle of my daughter's third grade year, totally happy with that decision a year latter. It takes a lot of effort as a parent but it is worth every minute if you have the time to dedicate.

FLVS is a good school. If you didn't have a good experience, it wasn't the school's fault or your fault, most likely you just couldn't handle FLVS or just aren't cut out for the type of work and rules here. Every individual learns and deals with things different, so yeah, some of you had horrible experiences with this school, others, such as myself, have had a wonderful experience with the school. The school tries its hardest to please each of its students. Only thing I can say about it is that some classes they offer may not be available when you need it, other than that, they are awesome and the teachers and staff are awesome also!

An absolute sweat shop. Do not dare fall under the tyranny of this degenerate internet academy. Your days will be spent scraping away at keys on the keyboard and, your mind will soon turn into a fumigated beehive. As I sat in the shadows of the night filling the space with words suspended by pixels I soon realized that my body was directly in the middle of the spiders web, the spider took its time to tease its victim swaying swiftly around each string like a hammock lying in the south wind of the Aegean peninsula. Soon as the hours disintegrated before me, hours that could not be reclaimed, precious hours given to me in a cornucopia sent from the Virgin Mary mother of God, the brown recluse lifted his body over mine and began to taste my soft pale flesh. The recluse attacked with strategic accuracy and had an acute sense of self indulgence. I stood alone in a digital world like Hercules in his death throes stripping my muscles from my body and scattering them on the floor, screaming up to the heavens for I knew that was truly damned

My son had a great experience taking his HOPE course through FLVS. His teacher, Mrs. Williams, was very positive and encouraging which helped my son complete the course successfully! This was his first course through FLVS and although he had a few challenges throughout the course, his teacher helped him through and was very cooperative and easy to communicate with. Thank you FLVS!

i hate flvs, please do not make the same mistake I did and do full-time. it's so stressful, honestly I just lay in bed at night and cry because I'm so stressed out. I'm so unprepared for the end of year exam because the lessons are very hard to understand. I absolutely hate flvs, if I could give zero stars I would. This program SUCKS. and I haven't learned anything new since I started, I've had to go on YouTube and just learn from there. They tell me I have to submit 4 assignments each week, for 6 classes, and I have no time for anything. I went into flvs for 2 reasons. Because I travel so much, I need more time to complete assignments, and because I was so stressed out at my other school, I couldn't even think. BUT FLVS MADE IT WORSE FOR ME. please don't do this program, you'll regret it.

The course variety is okay, but many teachers are not invested in their work. They don't care about being able to help the students, and there are many ineffective assignments that don't help comprehension. For part time FLVS students, the pacing is fast, and hypocritical. "With FLVS, you can go at your own pace," as long as your own pace is 3-4 assignments for the week, and no exceptions, or you get kicked out of the course and the F goes on your transcript. If you had a easy week at physical school, and you submitted 10 assignments, you still need the same quota for next week. Working ahead, or having to catch up is nonexistent. The pacing needs a lot of work, and that is my biggest issue.

I am taking Algebra 1 and I can tell anyone thinking to enroll in one of these classes that this school should be your last option. The pace of the lessons is fixed, and because of that I no longer have the time to do hobbies and other stuff that I now have to abolish from my schedule. The teachers rarely listen to requests or questions, and lessons completely contradict what the quizzes are about. The website is very hard to navigate and it took me 3 days to properly figure out tools and layouts. Honestly, this school is a joke to me and should and could have been made better.

I've been working as a FLVS Full Time student since January and I've found many pros and a few cons in the program.

Pros: I can work from home (which is AMAZING!), I don't have to be awake at any specific time. I sleep in until 8:30-9 every morning whereas in public school I had to get up at 6. The teachers are nicer than at public school. They email you reminders, never yell at you for no reason and they all wished me happy birthday. Live lessons (basically what it sounds like, but very very helpful). Pace. You don't have to do a certain amount of work any specific day so if I'm feeling super lazy or I'm busy on Monday and Friday I won't do any work those days but I'll just make sure to catch up Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Cons: DBA's. (basically where you call your teacher for a 10 minute discussion about your progress for the month) They're not that bad depending on the teacher I know some of mine give you DBA study guides so that helps a lot but for some you have no idea what to do so that stinks. Collaborations (where you work with other kids on assignments over the computer) I hate these because some people don't want to put in effort and they make you do all the work and take all the credit. I don't see why it's necessary at all because we're not even seeing each other either it's literally over the computer.

As for the actual work, I find it challenging because I feel like the teachers move kind of fast and they don't quiz you on what you learned sometimes. But it is up to par with FL education standards so I don't know if FLVS controls that or the state does.

So yeah, those are my feelings on FLVS. Overall I really enjoy it :)

the teachers don't respond fast enough and i'm constantly being referred to the help site where i'm not really getting help I keep getting email saying issue resolved when there is still a problem! the teachers treat you like garbage i have only had 2 teachers who are good and teachers are constantly being moved or fired! it sucks

Flvs is alright for electives, but DO NOT TAKE A CORE CLASS. You learn absolutely nothing and the lessons and assignments make no sense what so ever. Also the teachers never stop calling and texting. He emails with a heading of MONTHLY UPDATE, but he sends it biweekly. FLVS is a waste

I attended FLVS in my last year of high school and absolutely LOVED it. Working at my own pace let me take my time on more difficult lessons and helped me to pass them when I wouldn't have been able to keep up in a public or private school. I was able to spend more time outside and doing activities I loved while still attending school every day. I recommend FLVS to anyone who asks me about it.

I'm on the fence because FLVS Elementary is great! Lots of resources and support. Teachers are involved and you can see the effort. My 4th grader loves it. The principal is great! FLVS Middle lacks resources. I've been begging for writing sessions to prep for FSA for my 7th grader which fell on deaf ears. Civics teacher doesn't communicate. I have to find out about extra help by accident because he's not present. It's like pulling teeth with these instructors to get any support. I don't even know who the principal is for the Middle School. 5 stars for FLVS Elementary. 2 stars for the Middle school.

I personally love FLVS. I believe that every student is different and has a different way that they like to learn but personally this is one of the ways that I can learn without stressing out. I take all of my classes on FLVS including Creative photography and Guitar, at first I was kind of lost and I didn't know how to use my time wisely which lead to be being a bit behind on my work. I understood that it was my own fault this was happening so I decided to change my schedule and now i am about to finish with 3 of my classes only leaving 3 for me to finish. The teachers are very nice, patient and understanding and they normally pick up my calls and respond to my texts. When they don't pick up or respond they always find a time in their day to call me back or text me.

I'm not sure why FLVS has so many bad reviews. I took some Honors courses when I was in high school and passed with an A. The teachers were helpful and inspiring. They do have a lot of reading that can be seen as "tedious" to certain students. However, I enjoyed reading since it covered all the small areas and details that each module had. I'm now a student at a local University and I hope to one day gain employment with FLVS due to how helpful the teachers and counselors were. I wish to be as great of an instructor as my teachers were. They do advertise to go at your pace, but require at least a minimum amount of assignments to be turned in by students weekly. This is so the students can make continuous progress and get the required credit(s). This is for the own good of the students, so please work with them and give them a shot. Once again, thank you for educating me and I wish to be a great teacher like the ones at FLVS, once I receive my bachelor's degree.

I literally hate the Florida Virtual School. In h...

I literally hate the Florida Virtual School. In high school you have to take at least one virtual class now to graduate and it s stupid. I m taking HOPE over the summer and I will be sure to never take another virtual class again if they re all like this. First off, a few weeks ago I was finishing up the first segment of this class when I asked my teacher to give me the password to take the segment 1 final exam, when she says that I need to submit every assignment in the segment before I can have the password. I had one remaining but hey, no biggie. The catch is that she said submit it by 5:00 today before we go on our summer break and I can t give it to you. I m surprised a summer teacher needs a summer break, unless they work all year round, which doesn t make much sense, why not hire two different sets of teachers, one for the school year and one for summer, but whatever. She sent me this message around 4:43 or so, giving me 17 minutes to do that assignment. The worst part is I was eating dinner when she sent that, and I didn t get back to my computer to see that until 5:13. I submit the assignment anyway but it s too late. I was lucky though, as the teacher gave me the password a few days later anyway. I take the final exam later that day, but since the staff is on break I can t get it graded, which needs to happen so I can move on to the second segment, until the break is over. It s another week until it gets graded, then they finally put me into the class on the next day after that. I start working at the one module per week recommended pace, and today, the following Monday, when I m finishing up the first module of segment 2, I get this email saying I m on the withdrawal list for this Thursday, three days from now, unless I, quote, have all of my past due work submitted before the deadline . First of all, none of the work is really due in this class, there are merely guidelines for where you should be and what pace you should work at. I ve been working at that pace the whole time, it s just that for a whole 12 days there was nothing that I was able to submit, so I didn t match up to the module I would ve been at. And who s fault is that? It for sure isn t mine. I would ve been where I needed to be had I been able to work during that time and my teacher responded to my email when I sent it, not 17 minutes before they go off to break. So now I have to do 2 weeks worth of assignments in 3 days or I get taken out of the class. It shouldn t even be an issue in the first place. Those 12 days should not count to my grace period of 14 days, as I wasn t enrolled in the segment at all. If you try to submit something for the segment you re not enrolled in, it says that it won t count toward your grade. Obviously I wasn t going to take any of the quizzes or projects with that condition, unless I was supposed to, in which case I was never told so. It s all a big mess honestly. Second of all, just about every quiz or test has at least 1-2 items with a couple answers that are the same or redundant, poorly worded questions, or just straight up wrong answers labeled as correct. And when you review the missed questions after you take a test, it doesn t tell you what the correct answer is so you can learn from your mistakes. This is probably because when you retake it there s a high chance you get mostly the same questions, but shouldn t a retake have different questions anyway? If not many will end up just guessing and eliminating answers on a repeated question until you happen to pick the right one, since you get 3 retakes. Overall, there are many more poorly-designed features, lessons, etc. and small-moderate problems with the interface and class in general, but there is just about too many to list. I will admit, the teachers and staff are generally pretty nice, but a friendly waiter who forgets to bring half your order won t get much of a tip. I could go on, but google has a max character limit, so I can t continue. Thanks for taking the time to read my complaints and acknowledge them.

FLVS is so amazing! I love how you can take any course at your own pace. I also love that the teachers interact with you and is always taking time in making sure you understand the subject. I have used FLVS to re-do classes that I've failed in High School, and I went from a D to an A in past courses I've taken, and to me that is amazing. Thanks to FLVS my GPA has risen and I understand better than when I did taking classes at school.

The teachers are nice, the lessons are okay, but here is the thing.. i have to get ALL of my work done in 1 MONTH and i have 50 or 40 assignments in every class, its kinda going to be impossible to do all of that before January. . . Nice school but you should let us pick when we sign up like it should have a option for "1 month works of homework" or "one years worth of homework" something like that so i think it would be great if you did that :)

Flvs Flex has been more than an unpleasant experience.
This summer I took a course, so I can graduate early and I had Ms. Carrie Lopez as my Flex teacher. This teacher was not helpful, at all (In fact she referred me to other people, who didn't answer they're phone anyways. Not even the Principal, wow FLVS!), she gave limited feedback, and a lot of attitude!
My main problem is with Ms.Carrie Lopez is the way she handled everything. So I thought, My DBA was at 1:00, so I called her about 3 times because I thought she forgot, and I texted her. No response After I realized my DBA was at 2:00, I messaged her that I am sorry, for calling her that many times. No response. Then at 2:00 when it was my DBA, I called her 3 more times, because I thought she forgot, and I messaged her. No response. Time was limited for my to complete the course so I called the teaching assistant. (Mr.Dugas, great teacher by the way) We completed the DBA, and I submitted the assignment. Then My teacher calls, seeming a little mad, talking about I called her 30 times! No how about you answer your phone, or respond in text, if you were really that busy. What really made me mad is that, she saved my DBA assignment that was already graded and put in that I didn't answer the phone. What?! I also texted her a question she didn't respond, what a great flex course am i right?

After this semester I'm unenrolling, and I will leave another review on this school and how absolutely no one answers there phone not even the principal, after 3 phone calls and a voicemail. It's too many tech issues and too many people who know nothing about nothing!

And the guidance counselors!! Omg! I cant even with this school no more.

Yall don't even have to respond to me with those, automated responses. Just when anyone want to know how your school really is, this is there.

FLVS needs some improvement. Its not as bad as other people put it out to be, nor is it as amazing as other put it out to be. If you're someone who is better at learning face-to-face this wouldn't be the school for you. unfortunately, that doesn't matter because you will be forced to do this. FLVS- I DO NOT want to slander your name by rambling on and on about how "terrible" you are or aren't. Kudos to Ms. Elena Baldwin, she is an amazing HOPE teacher, she's nice and she really knows how to work with you. I have had some negative expeirences though, "Work at your own pace" it isn't a complete lie, however; it isn't the complete truth. FLVS- I understand you need to keep some sort of improvement in students consistent but keep things a little less uptight. I have definitely been stressed out. i remember crying when i found out the work load i had on my shoulders (completing ALL of algebra I and segment 1 of HOPE ALL this summer). Though i think FLVS is a good option but it sure is stressful, of course so is life. I think, FLVS, you should lessen the amount of work for Algebra I ESPECIALLY for part-time students. I want you to reply to this message with thought. NOT the usual "contact us on Facebook or twitter" piece. i don't know how in the world i was supposed to keep up with my assignments, 16 assignments per week so i don't have to tae the class during normal school hours to reduce prolonged stress. i wanted to spend time with my father before he got deployed but i simply couldn't the monumental stress, anxiety, amount of work is just outstanding. i spent a whole month with my father and grandparents and we didn't even do anything with each other, so thats two plane tickets down the drain. i couldn't even watch the fireworks on the fourth of july!!! my step-mother came in to the room to ask what i was doing and if i could take a break and watch some firework with my baby sister and such but i told her that i simply could NOT. we went to vegas, great wolf lodge, a cabin, LA, every one was having fun as i tried my hardest to catch up with a days worth of assignments that i have to do and on top of that, assignments of that day!!! so i spent 1 day catching up then i would slowly but surely fall behind. now I'm frantically trying to complete 12 assignments a day to simply keep up. this is all for algebra. a class i already took but my mom wants me to get a better grade and its ridiculous. the stress puts me in a bad mood and if by a miracle of god I'm not slaving away at the computer and having some sort of good time, the mere thought of the computer or anything associated with the internet reminds me of FLVS, and i get that feeling at the pit of my stomach and i just want to cry and stress takes over and and good feeling or thoughts go away and I'm automatically in a bad mood. My mom doesn't understand that this is stressful she thinks this is the easiest stuff ever and i struggle to explain to her how i feel and so, she tells me to go slave away and do as many assignments possible and when she's sees what has been done she gets upset and the number of assignments per day will increase from 12 to 18! and the stress will eventually consume me. whats funny is ii understand the point of FLVS and its a great idea!!! i just cannot self-teach I CANT!! thats why i wouldn't take classes in this school again. I thank you FLVS for the resources you've given me and all that but, i think you should make it easier for kids to get their work done. (not make the material easier). In all honesty, You're a good school and you should receive some awards but the workload is equivalent to a vietnamese sweat shop. when i get to my algebra class, i feel like a starving Ethiopian baby in the middle of the sahara desert.
I await a reply

Thank You For Your Time

Every second of it, I hated. I spent so much time wanting to pull all of my hair out. A lot of days I spent sitting by my computer crying. This program has put so much stress on me, and caused me to be depressed. Im currently doing co-enrollment, 4 periods in a public school and taking math, PE, and language arts online. My math course is definitely not worded clear enough for me to understand, I think this course made me hate math, when it used to be my favorite subject. The teachers are very nice, if your lucky. I got probably the most amazing PE teacher, and I just want to thank her for my ONLY A. This is my first year in FLVS and I only enjoyed PE. NEVER do things like Language arts here. Bad teachers, mine treats me like I have a disease. I hate this so much, never do FLVS unless you can actually stand it.

Its pretty fantastic.. If your looking into it on here though, don't, a lot of these stories probably aren't true, just saying. And the work at your own pace thing, its true but only after you've completed your needed assignment to stay on track and if you need a slower pace, then you can contact your teacher, but the main reason most of these students aren't liking virtual school is probably because they don't try to maintain a student teacher relationship with there teachers like they should.

Terrible school, they post way too may assessments and the do not help students learn anything from them, i have 7 assignments in a row for English and only 1 exam in the entire module, it's ridiculous. My credits from before I switched over didn't even get accounted for so I had to do all of them over again, I'm still not even fully caught up and it's gonna take me way longer than it should have. Fix your system and get rid of the amount of assessments you do, exams are way easier and help students know what they need to improve on. I do not recommend this for any students.

its really stressful i don't recommend it if you like to work at your own pace because you have complete 3 -4 assignments /projects a week or you get kicked out of the program although they claim'' you work at your pace.'' that's no true so far i have taken 5 classes

I now know why FLVS has such a poor rating. It's doubtful we will continue with this program, I think the kids learned more and progressed at a better pace when we truly worked "at their own pace", which this certainly is not. There are serious flaws in this learning program and I am surprised they haven't been brought to a better standard.

I am giving this 2 stars beecause i like most of the classes the teachers are helpful and they helped me out. However the PE IS THE WORST CLASS I every took in my life they made you chorograph a dance project which means sending a video of you doing a dance. HOW WILL THAT HELP u WITH ANYTHING IN LIFE THE PE IS THE MOST POINTLESS LESSON ON THE ENTIRE EARTH all it does it makes yo u do stupid logs and pointless questions. Overall i like flvs BUT THE PE is enough give it a 2 star.

i really like flvs! the tests are amazing, specially science and math, but i do not recommend history or civics, now there is something to flvs, the lessons, especially language arts, teach something, and the exams ask something totally different!!!!!!! oh, and the is an entire story to read for each question.

If i could rate this program 0 out of 5 I would.

If i could rate this program 0 out of 5 I would.

I took 3 classes on here, absolutely hated them all. Got them done, but the program is not user friendly and very stressful.

The teachers are awesome and always willing to help. They are very encouraging. You get three attempts on every test and it is always open book. Even for big exams such as Module and Semester exams. There is also a good assortment of classes from all the mandatory courses Like History, English, Science, Math, to P.E. and Guitar. Language classes like Spanish and even ASL. All of this for absolutely no cost! This is an all around amazing school.

Ms Thomson (Peer Counseling) is such a good teacher, she so kindly worked through her meeting day/day off just to help me get my class finished and graded. Teachers that sacrifice deserve to be noticed. Wish more were like her. I appreciate her so much and recommend her course.

It saddens me to read all of these low rated reviews! It also pains me to read about the stress levels of fellow students of mine. I've taken several FLVS courses, and loved each of them! Each one has challenged me, which is why I have limited myself to a maximum of four courses at a time-otherwise I get stressed as well. Every teacher I have encountered repsonded to my emails/assignments within 24 hours, and almost always returned my calls. I found the format of the courses to be user-friendly, and I didn't find that submitting four assignments a week to be a huge challenge. Granted, you are expected to take the information from the lessons and apply it for yourself- but as mentioned before, the teachers respond to any and all of your questions in my experience. I plan on taking nine courses this school year, and my first two are off to a great start. Thank you FLVS! I don't think I could have homeschooled this year without you! I would love the addition of Spanish 3 and Spanish 4, but I have a feeling you guys are planning to set those courses in place in the near future. Thanks again! Keep up the great work! :)

I took FLVS because under Florida school system i need an online course to graduate. That right there is a great example of bureaucratic bs and a reason why the US school system is in shambles. I say this because flvs did not help me learn anything and made my school year more stressful. flvs would be a nice option for some but forcing students to do it when its not the best choice is wrong and hurts the students even more. Just looking at the reviews should make the school system review their system of forcing students to take online classes. Unfortunately that wont happen because FLVS would lose money so its better to make the students lives worse instead of helping them.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would literally the worst schooling program ever the teachers don`t ever give any guidance they only care about you being at the correct percent. The math classes are awful and you get tested on information that wasn`t taught to you in the lesson and the teacher doesn`t even give you extra help resources. One of the science teachers kicks back lab reports even if you only going to miss a few points one time she kicked back an assignment and I didn`t change anything when I resubmitted it and she gave me full credit the second time. Also I got a B on a module exam and it brought my grade down 5% this is ridiculous.
