It is not possible to find the car sharing parking level. No signage! DriveNow Personal couldn't give me any information either.

In this airport I had a very nice experience, it is an amazing and world class international airport. The passport control was quick and easy to go through. Our luggage was on the carousel without a long wait. The airport is clean. Rest rooms are clean. Airport personnel in all departments are friendly and helpful.

Everything very smooth. But how should it be otherwise? Nobody is on the way.

Hamburg is my home airport. The airport has everything you need and is well connected to public transport. The only drawback are the missing long-distance connections. The problem of baggage handling seems to be solved. On the last flights I did not have to wait so long for my luggage. Recommended for airport fans is Skywriter Cafe and Coffee to Fly on the other side ....

Who will save this airport to death? At no other airport is the arriving baggage permanently on the move. Unfortunately, this airport has no direct competition.
A payment regulation of the management based on the customer (un) satisfaction would be a first step. For this (non-) performance you do not need to pay these princely salaries!

There is an incredibly long line at security every time I fly from here (every week). Some of the security gates are closed down, maybe that is the reason? Maybe they should hire more people then!
One time I wanted to ask for help from the staff as I was about to miss my flight due to the long waiting time at security, and the person who delegates people into different lines didn t even want to hear what I needed to say, I only got to the word excuse me to which she was shaking her head and shrugged while walking away. Unhelpful staff, worst security waiting time every week!

Very nice, well-kept airport. So far always nice and helpful staff. Also interesting for smokers. There are still smoking cabins here after the security check!

Easy to find everything as quite small. Clean everywhere. Very quick to get through security. No queus anywhere

Hamburg International Airport features good services

Shameful, I had to pay the extra weight of my luggage because of the incompetent staff at the luggage boarding.

Great process. Fly quickly and arrive just as quickly!

Very nice staff, little going on. And everything was super clean. But is a very large airport, so long ways are included.

I think during a rush hour the airport is very crowded with just one location of the person's luggage control.

Mostly a very well organized airport and it is easy to find your way around the area.

Worst and most disorganized airport I have ever entered. Departure 6.10am we were there shortly before 4, huge queue to drop off luggage at 5 suitcases finally gone. Security check completely overloaded thanks to the child I was quickly waved through otherwise waiting time easily 1 5h. so then to the gate next mega queue that started shortly after the shops. it was already 5.15. Passport control 1 thing open for tens of gates. Boarding started at 5:40, of course, not made despite repeated pressures from other passengers. Finally there was an announcement that the passengers should come to the front of the flight, but it started with a 40min delay. you had to cross the airport by bus. Bigger airports are 10,000,000 times better

Manageable operation, the people mostly stuck to AHA ....

Long queues for the security check in combined with lot's of commercial over-selling makes the stay at this airport mentally demanding.

The place seems clean on the surface but sometimes the toilets are beyond redemption.

Walking times from security to your gate can be long, depending on your airline.

I really like the airport. The check-in is ok and also the gastro. But what is really bad for me, there is no direct flight USA anymore. United has unfortunately canceled the route to NY. What good is my new route to Cyprus and Romania. Now I have to fly over Heathrow or worse over Frankfurt. At least my suitcase from Las Vegas came back punctually on the baggage conveyor despite inconvenience in Chicago and Heathrow. Airport manager see the US is being serviced again.

The airport is nice and clear, nice friendly staff, all in all great. If it weren't for the baggage claim, you could give it one more star, I've never waited as long as here.

Living up to its reputation, the arrival of luggage takes longer than many a flight. The organization is a disaster. Who has the choice, should not fly to and from Hamburg!

From here we start our vacation 3 - 5 a year. So far, the service has always been impeccable. The clearance at the security check is quick and easy. We always go there a little earlier so that we can have a good breakfast there. What is great is that it is free to use for the Internet!

My suitcase was probably opened after the baggage delivery. He was then only temporarily connected with a rope, because you probably tried the zipper tried to close improperly and this was then completely broken. The suitcase fell then in Crete (relatively at the beginning) open on the luggage belt what many vacationers has unsettled. After checking, I found that the contents of the suitcase were messed up and a bag of sweets was missing.

For me incomprehensible why one was not called to his suitcase and instead exposes the contents of the case a total loss, because the suitcase closure was improperly tried to close (probably by force and too fast).

Sorry that no one reports to such an incident from the airport, though I wrote that twice. Such a thing is for me the absolute indictment for the management of the airport. Happy to close the airport. I do not need something like that.

My brother also recently had problems at Hamburg Airport. Both suitcases did not arrive. But were forwarded.

Everyone tries very hard. However, it is pretty much extinct. There were only 4 planes at the terminals.

Cozy, too small airport. Expect queues at the hand luggage check. As an FTL, you are not allowed to go to the VIP control (only here).

One of the worse German airports. Especially for arriving passengers. Long waits on the runway and baggage claim are the rule.

Catastrophic conditions before the security check. At least 1 hour waiting time!

Here it takes with the luggage on arrival always extremely long. Apparently the Hamburg airport does not get that under control .....

Security control is fast and efficient, if you do not cross. Unfortunately, the intrusiveness of the shops (sellers always try to get lost in the aisle) could be reduced and you could pay more attention to the quality dee toilets.

The airport "Helmut Schmidt" in Hamburg is still clear. There is the friendliness of "the north", less can be more; which I like very much. An honest announcement, no frills. But never meant bad. There is everything your heart desires to buy. It is very clean! However, from 11 p.m. closed, which sometimes means a little bit worse, if you are late in bad weather, other airlines don't fly to Hamburg anymore, because the penalty for late arrival is so high that the airlines prefer to afford it Passengers of a full plane to accommodate in hotels when paying the fine! Happened to me twice. However, the 2 times no hotel was available and we would have to spend the night sitting on chairs! There were some people with problems, it was unfortunately very bad, since there is no deck chair at the departure airport Lisboa! The lounges are closed until 5am !!! Even in an emergency, and nobody "really" cares! You should consider this, especially if you have a disability or physical complaints! Hamburg Airport is still one of my favorites! Clear and well managed. Remember that a luggage trolley needs 0.50-1.00 cents. In Bremen and Frankfurt you can take them without any money. A thank you to the ladies and gentlemen from the Red Cross, who took so loving care of late passengers on December 21, 2019! The blame was a very bad storm that struck Madeira and the Portuguese mainland. 4 days and nights!

In itself a nice, new and clean airport, which unfortunately is obviously completely overwhelmed with the number of passengers. The security check is bursting at the seams and the workers take forever. 4 employees per fluoroscopy band, but they still seem completely disoriented and lame. Half of the tapes stand still and the line stretches for over an hour. According to the employees, it always looks like this on Thursday morning. But nobody seems to have thought of changing that yet. Professional service looks different.

A little long ways and long lines at the security check. While families in Munich who are allowed to use them for a long time automatically are only allowed here exceptionally.
Otherwise very clean. The staff was really nice.

Small, clean and efficient, that's all you could want in an airport really. However as I needed to have a meal there, I felt that F&B options within the restricted zone could be expanded. There was only a Marche bakery, a seafood restaurant which had everything sold out by the time we got there, and a fast food joint with crazily long queues. Another one or two more outlets would be much appreciated. The shops were sufficient, with enough technology and luxury goods outlets.

Not as big as other airport in Germany but ok. Security checking is much higher ever I have seen before.
Lounge are average and food quality as well.
Flights are Ontime.

No more free newspapers and coffee at the moment.

Restrained Hanseatic. Pleasant lounges. Fast Lane is really Fast Lane. Unfortunately logistically bad organized. Long waits on the luggage belt. Always travel with cabin language.

Lovely airport, which is well designed. Light airy and well laid out. The food court floor has some lovely food and look at for the nice seating areas that are on the 2nd floor of departures, quiet with a great view.

Clear-cut airport which only Hamburg considers as a small regional airpot. I've bought a suit here soon after getting out and only then went to the luggage belt. Like almost everywhere in Germany it takes forever until checked baggage is spent. In the airport itself you get everything you need. Usually a bit more expensive than Aldi.

Have flown from here a few times. Can't say anything negative. The advantage here is that it is usually not as crowded as other larger airports.

Who makes a package holiday for 300 euros, or 20 euros fly to Marrakech, but not seriously wondering that staff is poorly paid? The staff are hard-working and I've never been treated badly or rude (there's such a saying with "how to get into the forest ...") waiting times for baggage are actually a bit longer. You can plan that well, otherwise a very well connected airport!

I have such bad experiences in Hamburg airport. The employee of KLM (Check-in 3 Self-Baggage) has awful behavior and not professional.

I love this airport. Clean; clear, easy to handle and friendly staff.

Very good airport with good space at the gates. Only downside: sometimes it smells unpleasant on the toilets. Otherwise, a zoller airport.
PS: The visitor terrace is a highlight

Unfortunately wait for 25 minutes on the bus in the plane on the tarmac! According to the pilot, this happens more often ..... what is going on in my hometown ...... Bus driver should be to get .....
Otherwise, I like to fly off HH!

An average airport that is sometimes easier to reach for Brandenburgers than Berlin airports. Even if the BER should ever go into operation?

Hamburg Airport, recently Helmut Schmidt Airport. I personally find one of the most beautiful, of which I have seen so far. Personally, I think it's great that the airport is now connected to the HVV network, which wasn't always the case. Divided into terminals 1 and 2, there are of course some cafes to pass the time until the flight starts, as well as many small shops where newspapers, books can be purchased, and a duty free shop.

The parking is extremely expensive here but the airport is ok

All flights canceled ... no compensation for hotel has been given ...

Still my favourite airport, security quick and friendly (mostly, mood was poor today!), terminals easy to navigate.

I flew often from Hamburg airport and have had different experiences. Good, sometimes bad. Overall, an average airport with room for improvement.

Slowest baggage claim ever! Min 15-20 min waiting time on the band necessarily to plan!

Clear and solid. The waiting time can also be spent well on the viewing terrace or overlooking the terrace.

It just does not work ..
We fly regularly to Palma and have the direct comparison: in Palma the luggage ALWAYS comes in a relatively short time, in HH almost never.
We never know for what time we should actually order the taxi back to Kiel ...

I haven't been to Hamburg Airport very often. But it has always been pleasant to be there. The airport is clean, check-in went smoothly and relatively quickly so far. In my opinion, security control is also very important.

Only when landing do you sometimes have to be patient. Last time we had to wait for the luggage so long that we almost missed the bus that followed.

Out of local patriotism, I should actually give HAM 5 stars. However, the performance of the HAM is only (benevolently) 3 stars. The employees in the security check bother me massively, most of them are really so incredibly unfriendly and unfortunately don't even listen while they bark at you. Sometimes I really ask myself what's wrong with people, that some (not only me, I've also seen many other travelers who are completely unknown to me) nag in a really insulting way, even though you are friendly to them is and has not done anything wrong. What bothers me a lot is the queue in front of the security check during the corona pandemic (unfortunately the fast track was closed). It is absolutely impossible to keep a distance of more than 30 cm. What's good: The airport is pleasantly small with relatively short distances.

Unfortunately it comes here again and again to extremely long waiting times on the luggage. Bus drivers or buses on the way to the plane are also in short supply .....

As a plus, it should be noted that there is now fast free Internet.

Hamburg Airport is practically close to the city and well organized. Nice shops, always clean. No big glamor like Munich or Dusseldorf, but a pleasant travel start. Short waits for taxis.

None of the Corona measures are observed here. On the contrary, the measures taken lead to maximum contact with as many other people as possible. As a private person you would have been reported immediately for this deliberate negligence, here it is apparently ok.

Too bad that this great city has no better airport. This airport is a shame for Hamburg.

Completely overloaded in phases - especially in the morning hours on weekdays totally overloaded: long lines before the security check and passport controls, in the waiting area no seats available, long queues in front of only one Gastro (about in the range A37 to A40), toilets totally filthy, the few seats are broken and torn.

Direct connections to major international destinations (such as New York, Chicago, LA, Dubai) are missing - so no "gateway to the world" here. Hamburg has totally lost its international connection here.

Helmut Schmidt would turn in the grave.

Lovely airport horrible staff

The airport building is very nice it's probably the best airport building I've ever seen the inside is very modern but there is this one situation that put me off this airport
So Im a teenage boy who has autism and sometimes I don't act normal I just got off my plane and went to passport control and after I scanned/checked my passport the People who were behind the desk decided to laugh at me because of the way I showed them the passport and these two staff members laughed at me because I wasn't being normal it's not my fault I was born with autism and I definitely don't like it when such a nice airport has staff who laugh at People with disadvantages it's a shame tbh ;-;

Very small airport , and very bad bathroom compared to the all the other airports

Well, somehow I don't like the airport. Always have the feeling that you generally have to wait a long time here, whether at check-in or at the security check. The staff could be a little nicer at the security check!

Largest airport in northern Germany, very modern, but sometimes quite cool. The same applies to a large part of the employees, and of course especially the security staff ....
The connection to the public transport is optimal, the airport has its own underground subway terminus.
The gastronomic offer is manageable and unfortunately, as in all airports in the world, very overpriced. Only McDonalds has not raised his prices here. So why do I have to pay for a coffee up to 4.00 ...?
The cleanliness and logistics is super good.

So-called FAST TRACK: 25 min. Scandal! Tired and boring airport building with gate interior that looks and feels several decades old. Nothing is invested here to make the life of passengers pleasant and enjoyable. AVOID
