Good things about Hamburg Airport: Clean. Efficient. Quiet. Which is all you could really ask of an airport, really. I was in and out of there with minimum fuss. Perfect. But it loses a star for having dull food places (sandwiches, salads and healthy pizza when we were craving fried breakfasts for our sore heads) and even duller shopping (no Prada or Tiffany's here).
Good Airport - all facilities available. But old fashioned and small business lounge!
Very modern. Parking was easy to find. In itself you get along well there.

I love every place in Germany that I adore, because it reminds me of my homeland, Syria, its crowding, the many people there and the lot of work there.

A very nice airport. Lots of places to get food, landside and airside, lovely spotting terrace which aviation lovers will love. Amazing place which I really recommend. Shall be returning back to Hamburg airport in the near future.
The parking machine is broken and yet a wretch comes and hands out parking tickets. Badly structured. If you rarely fly, you won't find your check-in counter straight away

It is well known that luggage is usually a long time coming.
Passport scanners often fail.
How can it be that one of the revolving doors at the exit is not broken for the first time, and the repair for weeks! lasts?
If a large number of arriving passengers want to leave the airport, there is always a traffic jam.
You don't even have to think about what happens when an emergency occurs.
What we have experienced in the last 3-4 years, proves that the Hamburg airport was broken-saved. Last night, between landing and picking up our suitcases a whopping 1 hour and 10 minutes have passed. The parking fees of our collector were correspondingly high. But this could possibly be the intention of the management as well.

The security controls are becoming more complicated and protracted. This is much faster at Heathrow. Overall, you realize that this is not a full international airport.
There are no direct flights to the West Coast (Lax, SFO, SeaTac) either! Would be nice, if from here also the 747 in the direction of California & Co. would start, maybe every 2 or 3 days. Loaded these flights would be.
BA flies but also with half full 747 directly to LAX ....
It can not be more embarrassing. Waiting for the luggage for over an hour? Who actually organizes this bunch? Shame on you! You are a shame for the city. Nothings!

The Swiss managing director doesn't have the store under control even with the lowest occupancy.
Well connected, cleaner (except gate C9-C14 in the basement) airport. At noon, the terminal was not overcrowded and the SiKo went very quickly. The shopping was very varied (including an Edeka), only a drinking water station after the Siko is missing!

Clear airport, easy to reach with public. Transportation
It is not a huge airport like Munich, Frankfurt but definitely connects you to a lot of destinations. It is spacious and comfortable with a lot of places to eat and drink. I kept a star less because of not much accessibility to destinations like Asia, Australia as you have to change in places like Dubai, Istanbul or in Munich, Frankfurt etc.

Landing in Hamburg is always hell. The organization is a disaster and one waits for his suitcases forever. You always have to count at least one hour after the planned landing until you finally get out. I fly a lot and know some airports in the world, no one is as bad as Hamburg, just a shame.
Terminal 2. In the search for a toilet, I would once very unfriendly by a cleaning lady not leave the toilet when asked where the next toilet was, there was only one stupid saying. Down the hallway another found was also blocked by a cleaning car. Then went to the information where 10 employees from the airport stood to be referred to the toilet at the gate. There was also a snake there. I've never seen anything like this at an airport. Maybe the airport staff should rather take over control functions and not just stand at the info stand and talk.
Hamburg is a very quiet airport, which I like about. Everything is at your convenience, nothing complicated like other airports...cough...cough...Paris Charles de Gaulle...cough...cough.... Since there is not really much going on at the moment, everything went very quickly.
Very bad "big" airport.
There were no e-pass machines at Terminal A. So I had to queue for 15 min in the pass. There was no controlled queue. The passphrase simply went into the waiting area.
In addition, there were no conveyor belts, so that the paths dragged on forever.
And annoying It was also that I had as an incoming passenger through the whole area of the departures and thus repeatedly crowded and mixed crowd of people who wanted in different directions.
Small - and therefore fine. Stress-free airport. Modern.
This is a very nice regional and international airport. It is easy to navigate with shops and restaurants. There are a lot of security check points for rapid checks. It is well organized with clear gate signs. The bathrooms were clean. The best part is that the train station into the city is right in the airport with easy and cheap access to the city center. The ticket purchase points have multiple language for ease of use. All in all a very good experience.
It was a disaster ..... waited over an hour for the suitcase. No contact person, zero service.

Very nice airport, especially very clean. The connection over rapid-transit railway in completely Hamburg over transfer stations with subways and buses very well. Eating and drinking at some restaurant chains at market prices. At many shops shopping possibilities. Very good and fast baggage handling and reasonable waiting times at passport control points.

Clear airport with two terminals. Self check-in saves employees, but does not make you feel better. Security check with full-body scanner. Insider tip: After the security check, go upstairs and enjoy the peace

Hamburg Airport is actually really great, but waiting for your luggage is always a disaster.

Saftladen. Unfriendly ground staff. Do not leave pregnant wife and child on board first. Answer cheeky. Flight delayed due to lack of staff at Security Check.
The plane was delayed for 16 hours and there was only one in the staff at the entire airport who was nice, helpful and spoke English to us. The others in the staff were unpleasant and gave different information (usually incorrect information)
Worst experience ever in my life. Unfriendly, unhelpful, utterly rude, disrespectful and nasty staff. Long queues, zero help, they only speak German and look at you with utter rage. We arrived 4h in advance and almost lost the flight, they touched me to much, pull from the arm, no plastic bags for the liquid, no staff for the bag checking, no air conditioning, I was afraid at the end of the experience and some of us cried due to the inhumanity of that airport. I must have been very unlucky.
I found the security staff to be very rude. As if everything is too much, although nothing is going on at the moment. I work in the service sector myself, I am used to looking at people when I talk to them and not just continuing my private conversations and somehow messing around without saying what I am actually doing. Big differences to the airport in Stuttgart, there the staff is much friendlier.

Nice airport, but the clocks should be checked once. They are different everywhere. Partly over 5 minutes that is too much if you want to reach a bus.
Never had problems before. The staff is always helpful and nice with exceptions. Arriving by car is also optimal. If you only want to pick up / bring people and not necessarily drive into the parking garage, sometimes chaotic.
Hamburg Airport, why do not you just say good german airport. We love you that way, also or maybe because you are so little international.
Is not it a dream to take the S-Bahn to the airport and as soon as you come up the stairs, you see a manageable, tidy, spacious and airy airport in front of you. You can already smell the big wide world, but it is not as hectic as in New York, as broken and tight as in Frankfurt, as sterile as in Munich, as tui-like as in Hanover .... Great!
Safe Hamburg airport is not a shopping paradise, but I'm not here to, but to depart or arrive! I like to fly from here. Sometimes, when I pick up guests, I just dream of a nice trip into the wide world. It's almost like a vacation.

Deplorable signage, security check by rude employees. We go around in circles and panic because we can't find our boarding gate, but no one is available to give you information and everyone ignores you. When you don't understand something, you get yelled at. Unpleasant experience

Never seen Hamburg Airport so empty. Find and book the right trip in the travel center!

A small fine airport but partially bad signposted (in the terminal). Everything else top. The traffic in and around Hamburg is madness.
Unprepared and rude staff, I had to change a ticket from non priority to priority and they sent us from one part of the airport to the other without solving anything.
As airports go this one is quite decent. There's a bunch of shops & restaurants once you go through the security check. The toilets are clean and there is free wifi.

Security guards terrifyingly rude and arrogant and unable to speak English! With their arrogant, snooty German philistine pride, EUROPEAN air travelers are treated like garbage. You cannot expect a foreign traveler to speak German, but you should expect security staff to speak at least English. Unfortunately, this is not the case, or MAN does not want it out of sheer cockiness !!! Idiot !!!
I always have a nice experience at this airport. The people are friendly and they process you through customs and security quickly. The rental cars are a short walk from baggage claim. Very nice airport.
An airport with 2 terminals right next door. If you pick up your luggage, you don't necessarily have to go to the exit to switch between the terminals, but can simply continue along the baggage carousels, which has the advantage that you don't have to go to the crowded exit.
The airport is nice but it doesn t provide any vegan food (including drinks). That shows ignorance towards the environment and the animals.
All shelves are full of butter, meat & cheese sandwiches. Why would you support killing baby cows for their mom s milk and flesh? Why would you eat/ drink something that s unhealthy and full of animal hormones and antibiotics when there are other, more healthy alternatives?

Poor accessibility for transfer companies that are not HH taxis !: No possibility for short-term parking to find out when the passengers arrive! Poor accessibility of the terminals on pickup f. arriving passengers! Rip off by towing companies (also on Sundays !!!!!), the driver is forced. The towing vehicle is parked on the airport grounds and it is threatened with travel costs: That's what I call cheating! Who is still affected: Please report to me: Strive for a class action! The airport HH is very customer-unfriendly / cluttered / Because of automation long waiting times, due to delays of the plane, in which one should pay parking fees: We bring the tourists to HH and should be ripped off for it? Tip: Hanover / Bremen or other airports approach! Bring the tourists there: HH does not need passengers!

Well organized. Very fluid access to the rooms, the review is professional and fast. It is important to consider that there are two terminals, 1 and 2. And sometimes the boarding pass can indicate 1, however, in the case of the IBERIA airline, the terminal is 2. Doing some shopping here is not very viable, little variety of stores and articles; besides there is not a good souvenir shop.
