I am always very happy when I fly Hamburg because I feel well cared for there. The staff is very friendly, helpful and well trained.

Found the sponsored free WiFi, but you needed to login or create an account, done it, then the site crashed and now it won't let me login saying I've already used my 1 hour... Sigh... Expected more for such a large airport.

My request via the form on the website unfortunately remains unanswered. Pity!

Very rude security staff. Didn't realise that there was a spare button in my back trouser pocket. The guard asked me if I had anything in my pockets and I said no. He then mimicked me in a childish and unprofessional way saying "so there is nothing in your pockets meh meh". It is incomprehensible that a person being paid to ensure the security of passengers in the airport of an advanced country like Germany would act in this disgraceful way. Thank you for looking after our safety but please respect our right to be treated with dignity.

As long as everything goes as it should a great airport, but you have problems looking for staff unfortunately in vain.

I am currently on the plane and wait 30 minutes for the bus. It's definitely 100 years old again.

It is time for this so-called managing director to pack his bags! Conditions at our airport have been deteriorating for years. This affects all functional areas such as parking space reservation on the web, staff shortages in security, if not, then in ground handling or cleanliness in the toilets. Yesterday we even had to wait 10 minutes on the plane for the exit because we were unable to bring a passenger boarding bridge to the plane on time (which was exceptionally punctual)! It's a shame for Hamburg for a long time!
There has been no arrival or departure for a long time that you couldn't find fault with. The day before yesterday, passengers wait over 3 hours for their luggage! Many leave it annoyed and go home without it.
Then there are long queues at the taxi stand, as you can hear, because from the airport side you refuse to discuss the need with the taxi centers.
A pilot flies back to Barcelona with his luggage in the hold because the Hamburgers are unable to unload his plane, is it still okay? Are we in South Sudan?
One asks oneself and the G20 Mayor Scholz (to whom one would also have a lot of questions) whether such "orderly governance" looks when people like this Eggenschwiler have management functions and have failed for years.

For me it is one of the worse airports in Europe. Over my last trips, there was always a problem, especially during the evening: huge waiting for security, very long wait for immigration or no taxis at 23h for a lot of costumers... Everytime a bad surprise. This poor quality airport is not worth it of an international and dynamic city such as Hamburg

The behavior of the staff at the hand luggage control was unfriendly to annoying. Although I was in a great hurry - train and S-Bahn delays on the route from Bremen to Hamburg -

I had to listen to the third lesson at the gate, where I literally came at the very last minute. I am 66 years old and have rarely felt so badly treated. Hanseatic service?

For 30 minutes we wait for our luggage that was brought out of the plane next to us while we got out. Underground!!!!

Having some serious issues with security check waiting times. seems like nobody has a clue what they are supposed to do. Logistical nightmare. Wifi never really works, but that's a minor issue in comparison to the security check

The airport is just embarrassing. Everything is dirty, dusty and stinks in the corridors of the toilets everywhere, as if all the pipes were clogged.
The floor is old and broken, the walls are gray, the staff of the shops at the pier are unfriendly and look like they are enslaved who would not want to stand there.

The air conditioning does not work, it is stuffy and disgustingly warm inside.

The announcements suggest that the person who passes the information suffers from severe depression.

There are benches outside, but only for the disabled (which is the least) or and I find that particularly absurd, just for smokers. In the non-smoking area one searches in vain for a bank to rest or to wait for the bus.

Bad, considering that this is the first or the last impression of Hamburg for many travelers.

Flew out of here on Christmas Day. The airport was very sleepy. Overall not an unpleasant airport experience, but the security here is some of the slowest I've ever seen.

Very nice comfortable, and logically optimal terminals. The check-in areas are large enough and properly labelled, also care is taken that people stand in a single line and use the available floor surface wisely and fairly, keeping the 1.5m distance. Many flights served through pipes (as opposed to buses), which makes boarding faster and easier. Luggage services are top, normally you'll reach the belt and your bags are there already. Toilets are clean and appropriately equipped.

1 hour waiting for the luggage, far too long for "normal" peak hours in the afternoon ... does not work.

Everything super never problems.

Big airport, but everywhere are signs and you know exactly where you should go. Nice and helpfull Staff. In the airport there is a information where you can buy tickets for bus and metro.

Guys do your job properly!

It is a very modern well organized company. Very large and varied range of shops. Very nice and competent staff. Good signage. Very good connection to the public transport and thus also to the long-distance traffic. There is a very large Edeka market available with very good and cheap prices. A very good baker is also available. Many elevators available. He is in my opinion the most beautiful airport in Germany.

Hamburg Airport, the gateway to the world. Check-in at Hamburg Airport runs smoothly. The staff at the airport are usually very nice and friendly. Overall, I think Hamburg Airport is clean. There are a few grocery stores.

I'm really traveling a lot, but I've never seen anything that happened to me at security this morning, anywhere in the world !! First, it took forever, until it was even your turn, but this I pushed on the "increased" passenger traffic, due to the strike at Berlin airport. After the body scanner, this person waved something there with his hands. I asked if he could not speak - then another employee pulled me into a scanning booth and told me that sometimes, with 15,000 passengers a day, he did not feel like talking. OK? She went on to say that I finally strapped it in spite of my blond hair, that I should go to her. Of course you scanned then again extra slowly my shoes, but as a "blonde" I understand :-) ... Sorry, I realize that this is not a varied job and people certainly had other plans with your life, but a little decency and manners may well be expected at this mini airport ...

I like the airport in Hamburg very much, because it was built very clearly and easily through and it is very easy to reach with the S-Bahn.

I've never experienced an airport where you have to wait so long for your luggage .... to wait an hour is not uncommon and therefore an absolute impudence. If this airport did not have this optimal location for me, I would always try to avoid this village airport.

Long waiting times, underground information technology, incompetent employees. Luggage regularly. All in all, just bad organized. Although I fly here regularly, there are never any complications, the responsibilities of which are clearly attributed to the airport. Next time I will fly somewhere else.

What good things can be said about Hamburg Airport? It is clear, with perfect traffic management, very good parking facilities close to the terminals. There is an Edeka market, which has a normal price level. You can find sushi in Terminal 2, lots of options To eat something tasty. A telephone shop with nice service. Clean toilets. I didn't notice any negative at Airport HH. It's also nice that his name is Helmut Schmidt. In honor of a charismatic, credible politician.

Best airport in Germany. You don't have to say more!

Mostly friendly staff, everything was very clear, clean sanitary facilities. Good selection of shops and stores. Impeccable in handling. Short distances and clear structure.

Baggage claim after 22 clock and today just like that. Nice announcement from the tape that it can come to the issue to delay. It will take an hour now. I'm hungry and my bed is waiting! Skin pure boys. Not enough staff? We have so many professionals.

Probably the oldest and dirtiest big airport i have experienced in Europe

Very poorly managed airport. Toilets are often very dirty and much too small. Buses are often not ready when a transfer from the plane to the terminal is necessary. There is only one water dispenser in the entire terminal. Incidentally, communication in emergency situations is underground. Avoid if possible.

That already 20 minutes. in the plane, because no bus came ... on the luggage I have then again 30 min. allowed to wait ... on a domestic flight ....

I travel a lot, but this is one of my favorite airports. Usually don t have to wait long at all they re very nice amenities and the lounges are very nice as well. There s a very high standard of a keep your account which means that the infrastructure is very nice and new. I recommend visiting this airport if you have the chance

A very nice and reasonably large airport where you can shop well and wait for friends or relatives. It is very clean and the staff are happy to help with any questions. Parking is very expensive compared to other airports in Germany.

It is a barn port, it has excellent Wi-Fi service, the baggage control process is a little slow but it has many options to buy clothes to eat, to shop and especially to go with the family, it has a great transport connection, taxis, bus and train, and it has many national and international connections I love the 5-star

Quite messy to be a German airport. No much care of "gold status" flyers: security check priority access queue often mixed with regular one, sporadic priority boarding option, etc. Few shops but well selected.

Quite a small airport. Everything was very clean. Short distances. Good signposting. Gastronomic offer okay. Staff friendly.

Chaos Airport! The airport employs too little staff. This results in long waiting times at all points. Wait a long time at check-in. Security check long queue. The flight could not start on time either, because staff were not there to load the suitcases. Even the pilot made a very clear statement about the conditions at Hamburg Airport. On the return flight to Hamburg also delayed for these reasons, because the machine could not leave Hamburg in time.
I will avoid Hamburg Airport in the future.

Regular chaos Monday and Friday morning and still the operator does not manage to find solutions here. Very poor and miserable idea ... Management, analysis, experience and planning seem to be foreign words here.

Ugly provincial airport with long waiting times. The airport's attraction is a fast food restaurant upstairs. The view terrace is not cleared of snow in winter, but rather simply closed. Apparently all the staff here are too fine to make the passengers a pleasant stay. It is better to use an airport in the surrounding area so that you don't have to go through here.

Awful! On the way to vacation, I was treated so aggressively, harassed and discriminated by two women in the security area during the check-up. I defended myself verbally, remaining calm but steadfast.
In order to skip their power on me, the two women threatened me with the 'blue button', then did so or pushed the button, and the federal police came running towards me as if I were a terrorist.
Big drama at the airport, we almost missed our flight, I was supposed to be accused of insulting the police (the ad was dropped due to false claims), then my suitcase was removed behind my back without telling me, and when I got this noticed, I burst into tears, because I thought, now also my suitcase was stolen!
No one listened to me, I was completely at the mercy of them - the HORROR! Apparently, you have to make an outrageous, power-spending and irreverent behavior at the check in, otherwise you will be arrested immediately ...

World class, no comparison with Hannover or Vienna.

Unfriendly staff. In-efficient and messy layout. Long waiting times for security and especially unfriendly border control, treating you rudely and speaking to you in an impolite and rude manner. They also treat you according to their mood. Had a an older man at border control who was in a bad mood and treated my companions and I accordingly. Called us rude names and talked down to us. Abused their position of being with the police to try and intimidate us, rather than serving the community, which his job should be. Terrible border control and very disappointed as all in all had a very inconvenient and unpleasant time.

Hamburg's airport is okay, but nothing more. It can be easily reached with the S-Bahn and you can find your way around easily thanks to its manageable size. However, construction is going on in some corners and the hygiene of the toilets is a disaster. Water dispensers for free water are provided.

Bright, airy, efficient and we'll laid out. Several good viewing areas above the apron. Terminals extremely close together and we'll served for ground and rail transport.

Unfortunately, a new start-up procedure was introduced here in Hamburg a few years ago, popularly known as the "flat start-up procedure". The planes take off less steeply and fly far lower and longer over the houses, which creates an extremely large amount of additional noise.

The airport talks itself out that one cannot prescribe how airlines and pilots should take off. The Hamburg environmental authority is using the same argument.

An airline saves around 25 euros per take off when it is flying low over the city roofs.

So far, nothing has been heard here in the district of aircraft. I love this international airport in Hamburg!
It has everything for days and rain! It's usually Sunday tour!
It is very simple and organized for travel! And it has supermarket to case when we come back from trip and if you want to shop! I think it's great to have a balcony to see the slopes!

I don't have the experience with airports, so I can't make an internationally weighted comparison between various airports here. But what I can say is that everything is easily accessible on foot, you can orientate yourself very well and the employees make a general, distant, friendly impression. The airport is also well connected to the local infrastructure (easy to reach by car).

Children have also been considered in the waiting area of Gate B at Terminal 2, because there is a small play area (see photo).
