I think the airport is great. Nice clean everythin...
I think the airport is great. Nice clean everything
I think the airport is great. Nice clean everything
Almost always incredibly long lines - not very friendly service staff, with exceptions of course
A renovation would also do the toilets good
Nice airport with in the city.
Stroll, shop, eat and drink while waiting for the plane.
Shopping early in the morning and in the evening as well as on Sundays and public holidays.

It is just a small provincial airport that is not at all appropriate for a city that thinks it is a cosmopolitan city. Hardly any direct connections, a lot of apron handling, very long lines at the security and upon arrival you wait for your suitcases forever. At least now reachable by train instead of the unspeakable Airport Bus from the past.
Huge, very clean and super organized. There are many security checks with plainclothes policemen.
Nice airport, but the return of luggage took 40 minutes on our flight on Sunday.
It is an airport, practical, functional, well connected within 20 minutes. From the center of the city, what if it would be fine more routes consolidated with other European destinations, but we are going great
Waiting for the luggage is awesome. There are flight plans where you know how many planes land when. I have been standing here for a suitcase from Vienna for 45 minutes. Another two hours more and I wouldn't have been More
A very nice airport. My trips always start there.
But I have one question. Why do some complain about waiting too long at check-in? It's up to the airline and not the airport.
Good airport with regular domestic connections across Germany and international connections to hubs like Amsterdam, Paris and London. Local transport is handled by an always full taxi rank or a 20 minute S-bahn ride to the main railway station (take the front three cars of S1 from the station if you're going to the airport unless you want to see the suburbs on an impromptu tour).
Inside there's plenty of places to pass the time, but if you're heading out of Schengen, get coffee before passport control as choices may be limited.
Since Corona there is only limited operation here. Hardly any people or cars. So it was great: I immediately found a parking space near the entrance and I immediately had my delicious coffee from the coffee stand in the pick-up area
Of course it's not the biggest airport, but it's enough for Hamburg. The areas that are public are very large and the viewing terraces are very good for visitors. There are also many shops in the airport. All areas are actually very clean and the toilets are perfectly fine. What I think is very good is that all things are very well signposted. Tourists can also quickly find where they want to go. The security checkers are also nice and not unfriendly. The shops after the inspection are of course very expensive, but that's the case at every airport. Only I think there are a few shops after the inspection, mostly just bakers. When our plane was delayed once, we were allowed to leave the security area again, which was also very nice from the staff.
On our last few flights we didn't have to wait that long for our luggage either, so it seems to be improving.
It may not be the best airport, but perfectly fine.
Clean, clean and well-arranged airport.
The toilets are in the morning at 4 o'clock still clean, but the cleanliness decreases hourly unfortunately increasingly.
Much worse is the waiting situation!
Hardly any seats in dark back corners, many sleeping on benches and floor people.
The security staff is plentiful and mostly friendly.
At first you feel relatively safe.
But with more travelers this impression disappears.
However, the situation at check-in is catastrophic!
There are unfortunately too few staff there.
Likewise, there is too heavy and too expensive to use technology.
This also likes to fail (despite machine-readable Visa / ID card's).
That one thus still in time the much too full and extremely elaborate security checks to happen and must come to the plane in time, sometimes borders on celebrated madness.
The acute staff shortage is here by far the biggest problem.
Unfortunately, the gastronomy does not have the actual opening times.
On the first flights from 6 am in the morning and requested previous 2 hours arrival time you are with some security time (because of congestion) so already about 3 or 3: 30h at the airport.
That one can not even get a coffee is an absurdity for itself.
You feel a bit offset in the wild west!
The personnel problem has been known for years.
But nothing is changed!
They land in Hamburg and are immediately grounded again ... they wait and wait for their luggage.
I do not know any airport that needs soooooooooaa long to get luggage ready.
It is well known when which planes arrive.
6 set!
Unbearable!
Dialing into the free Wi-Fi network did not work even after several attempts.
WiFi is only for one hour. I hope this can be improved in the future.
A nice airport, long lines and the staff is sometimes exhausting, but what can you do.
It is a scandal, however, that there is no free Wi-Fi at check-in, as befits any good airport.
A convenient airport that can be reached from the city by a single train. The train to the airport branches off on the way, so it is recommended that you go out with plenty of time. The facilities are neither good nor bad, cafes are fairly enriched, and there are many ordinary shops.
Find it a shame that the planes do not start more slowly so that you can take photos better.
I find the airport great clear, friendly staff. The parking garage is great.
Airport very old, home deplorable. We arrived late and the airport closes. So you find yourself expelled to the starting area and have to register again. Then despite all the precautions taken to have the luggage that follows us ... well we do not have them to arrive ... to flee if you have another solution
Very bright and friendly buildings. Mostly friendly staff. We feel comfortable here as passengers.
I often fly from Hamburg and find the airport very well signposted & clean! Employees are usually very helpful!
Huge lines for security checks at 5 in the morning, took me 45 minutes. Plan arriving a day earlier on rush hour. Now I understand why airline recommended buying fast lane access. Still easier and cheaper to get there than most airports.
Everything went well, the airport was clean and the Siko was quite fast
The flight from Amsterdamm to Hamburg took 45 minutes, the baggage claim was significantly higher. Thank you for nothing and missed trains.
Unmotivated staff and bored announcements included.
Hamburg has always been slower to process than the other major airports. But it's really too much today. We are waiting for our luggage for over an hour. Every time we use this airport, I am extremely annoyed. Now it's enough to use Hannovet better!
Great staff, open-minded, helpful and accommodating.
The luggage was right there and there was never any trouble.
Again and again from Hamburg!
Perfect for us because we live in Hamburg and in 20 minutes at the airport and not only hours have arrived. However, more international overseas destinations could be approached.
Clear airport, speedy clearance. It only takes a little longer at the check-out.
Dirty arrivals hall and the baggage claim takes ages. Poor service.
The journey is a little patience. Signposts regarding parking and the sidewalks to the lifts very bad. Miserable long waiting times for luggage ... If it's possible, not Airport HH again
Overall, a good airport, everything is organized reasonably well (check-in, security check, etc.) and you don't have to starve like in Paris CDG (overpriced). What is also annoying is the excessive parking fees, which have risen sharply in recent years. Unfortunately, security is not optimized. Monitoring of the parking spaces is practically non-existent, burglaries (sometimes even the navigation systems permanently installed in the vehicle are completely removed) are still the order of the day. This is a big problem, especially for business travelers. It is practical that you can also travel cheaply with Ryanair from T2. You should orientate yourself a little more to Amsterdam Schiphol, in my opinion one of the best airports in Europe.
Wait 80 minutes for the luggage. Who pays me the parking fee? Addendum, it has improved
The constant, unbearably long waiting times at the baggage carousels are probably the worst for travelers. We have been flying from here for years and the airport is also aware of this grievance, but does not remedy it, preferring to live with the bad reviews.
Clean airport, but over priced goods for sale... 4 a coffee is a bit steep especially when it s mainly froth... plenty of free drinking water fountains which gained them 3 stars instead of 2...
Modern airport only the staff is very arrogant
I asked which flight goes to Bilbao .. the lady said go to the information board
Next it was at check in with hand luggage .. had again arrogant staff
Who does not like. Dealing with people should change this profession
Everyone was nice and friendly on the plane
LINDE G
Handling according to EU guidelines, somewhat slow. Particular attention is paid to the amount of liquid carried in hand luggage. Staff are particularly strict, which results in an unfriendliness.
Probably due to a lack of workers in the baggage area, HH is always an imposition as a landing destination
The airport has potential in principle with short walking distances and a nice building overall. However, this is ultimately all secondary if there are constant delays due to a lack of ground staff. Sometimes it's the bus, sometimes it's the luggage, and so on. Only one thing is always constant late, late and again late.
Good traffic connections, everything else very chaotic.
Hardly any seating in front of the gate.
Overfilled and 1.5 hours spent standing.
Really good airport, plenty of room. The only thing was the liquid bags were all broken so lost 50cent.
Underground. Flight delayed according to Google 1h30, no employee at the gate at departure time, flight according to all advertisements still on schedule, no seats at the gate.
Waited 1 hour for the luggage, as the airport does not pay its employees enough and people are treated unworthy !!!
Super Helmut Schmidt airport Hanseatic City of Hamburg my pearl wonderful !!!! Nice good place
Those who regularly fly from Hamburg on Monday mornings regularly experience a completely understaffed security check with miserably long lines and waiting times and stubbornly ill-tempered staff. You will experience this at no other German airport. Please provide more staff at peak times!
Not many possibility to get something to eat once you pass the check-in and the is also veryyyy rude.
Well-kept airport, fast handling and, especially during Corona times, absolute hygiene is concerned.
Unfortunately, you can also see here how Corona has left its mark on the shopkeepers. Let's hope that the virus will soon be history.
There are better airports. Everything is organized a bit chaotically.
WAITING FOR THE CASE
That was the longest wait so far to receive my suitcase. It took 45 minutes for the first suitcase to land on the treadmill. I had to wait another 30 minutes
until I finally got my suitcase.
Why is not more staff hired here?
The plane had about 250 passengers. If everyone would pay only EUR 1.00 more on the fare, more people could be hired.
For our Hanseatic city, this "service" is just embarrassing.
Good airport, everything always works smoothly and quickly.
I did find one free Wi-Fi available for one hour if you agree to register...I was in departure hall Terminal 1
It is very convenient to enter the city because it is connected to S class. Buy a single one-way ticket to the city.
If you buy a 1.5 or 2.2 euro, you will be fined 60 euros. Unlike Berlin, ticket inspection is not so bad.
When traveling in Europe, there's no way to check your passport or ID. All you have to do is take your ticket and inspect your belongings. It's hard to come in, but the person who goes out seems to be Nagasu soon.
It is always incomprehensible how long you have to wait here for the luggage. Have been waiting here for up to an hour ....
Everything empty at Hamburg Airport. Corona also had something positive.
You get away cheap if you get something to strengthen there. Unlike many other airports
Disaster Waiting for pass check for minutes 2 of 6 open wait over 30 min for luggage
I have already arrived several times and honestly I wait on average for half an hour to my suitcase that is not even and is under all sow!
Both Fastlanes too without prior info. Sloppy staff. Provincial. Just caught the plane.
Very great airport come from Schleswig and it is always great to drive to the airport or to fly or to arrive! Staff very nice. Simply beautiful the airport! I've been there for 6 years now and try to support you!
Bisschen klein und langweilig aber ansonsten ganz okay
What is happening with the security in this airport???
and like all the great works of the German town, excellent.
Unfortunately, not the first time that the waiting time on the suitcase lasts longer than the flight itself.
What's wrong in Hamburg ??? !!!
Simple, pleasant modern airport. Really not much to fix if it's not the reception in certain restaurants. Quick and efficient registration procedure. Car rental and parking same. Brief AAA ++
We landed in Hamburg on September 30th, 2017 at 10:45 pm and waited 55 minutes for our suitcases, there was no staff, so you should work on it
Nice airport, but unfortunately the security staff is really bad aggressive and rude. I've never experienced anything like that before.
Everything was fine Check in securetiy, etc. are friendly nir the waiting on the luggage are long
Security personnel absolutely unfriendly and commanding. Restaurant in the gate area absolutely unfriendly and not customer-oriented at all!
Everything is great .... Take off and arrive safely here
