A great facility, clean, bright and interesting even if you don't fly yourself. Hamburg Airport invites you to linger. Shop, eat and stroll while waiting for the plane. Arrival and departure. There is a viewing platform in Terminal One

Security is very important.

Incredible!!! The airport has new software for the allocation of the bus transfer. The guests are brought to their aircraft, but apparently it was forgotten that guests arrive! Sitting in the plane for 1 hour and no bus in sight. Alone right of us are still three aircraft with guests who have not yet been picked up - very, very embarrassing airport Hamburg ... !!!

Hi

Hi

Between 05/07/2017 and 16/07/2017 I parked my car in 22848 Norderstedt, Spelterstrasse 1
When I came back from my holiday in Spain, I asked for the key, but they would not give it to me, and after 5 min a person from the carpark came with the key, and told me they had a small accident with my car.
The whole of the left hand side is damaged.
Both wheel rims damaged on the left side plus tyres, one rim on the right side, (only 3 days old)
There are also marks in the paint on the right side,
And the rear of the car. Estimated cost of repair maybe more then 6000-12000 euro.

The reason why I am writing is, that the attitude from the 2 people in the carpark was total unacceptable, their 2 stories did not match. One said it had been slippery and they were slid into another car, the other said they reversed into another car.
This seems unlikely because there is a rear sensor fitted on the car, they did not agree at all, very strange.
They actually laughed at me and said, don t think about it, it would all be paid and he did not really care.
Several times he turned around and ignored me while we talking.
I hope that Hamburg airport will make an investigation into this incident. My car is going to be repaired by Volvo in Vejle Denmark 15 Aug, they already looked at it and they are saying it is not possible that the damage could have been caused in that way.
This will never be a new car again, because of the damage.

My personal opinion is that, they were standing and lying straight up in my face, there was another Dane down there who had also had a big scratch in his car, and they also laughed at him.
I am in shock that you have people working for you with that attitude and they are driving around in cars to 50000-100000 euro and more.
I hope you report it to the police, I would very much like to receive a report back from you explaining what actions you have taken in response to this.
It is unacceptable, both for your customers, and for your own reputation.
I have saved for this car for 3 years, my first new car, and the people in your company with such a terrible attitude have destroyed my car then just laughed about it, and don t care about their actions at all.

I will never fly from Hamburg again after this I am disgusted that you have people working there with that attitude.

My favorite airport! Probably because of the fact that I can start from here always on vacation;). I often visit the visitor terrace as a visitor and there you really experience more than you think, especially with the other people there. Everything well signposted and otherwise top :)

Bad airport with miserable customer service. After entering Terminal One, you are first besieged by pusher columns, who swear aggressively credit card contracts. On the 13.8.2016 with two small children we were 50 minutes at the check in from Euro Wings A in Terminal 2. The service staff at the check in desk of Euro Wings in Terminal 2 was rude, unmotivated and slow. When asked if the security check-in would also take almost an hour, the service staff only gave a tired smile, but no specific answer. After passing the security check, you have to meander through a 100 m long shopping arcade, in which completely unnecessary articles such as newspapers, clothes etc. are sold. The signage of the departure gates is miserable. The displays of the monitors are small, the font pixelated and the displays of the monitors change every second. Finally, the gate mentioned on the boarding pass was wrong and changed at short notice. An announcement of the change of the departure gate did not take place. Access to the aircraft at the airport in Hamburg is not via covered gates, as in modern airports in Frankfurt or Munich, but over buses that drive over the apron. A much too large crowd was forced into the bus, so that you could barely hold on. The bus then had to drive a huge detour, because half the run was torn open by construction machinery. Arrived at the plane, there were no employees, who led the passengers to the approach corridors. One notices that the airport Hamburg is mainly interested in the high turnover with travel articles, but completely neglected the service at the customer. The beginning of our holiday was clearly spoiled by the bad customer service. I have never experienced such a miserable service as at the airport in Hamburg. Therefore, from me clear note 6.

Outdated toilets, eternal waiting times at the baggage claim, multi-storey car parks with permanently non-functioning elevators and aggressive vendors of questionable cosmetics and credit cards.
One approaches the situation in Berlin, just keep it up!

Everything is as expected with positives concerning security checks, which were fast and under 5 minutes on a weekday around 1830. Prices for beer are high and I disliked the entire experience because it smells terrible in this airport. The humidity ads to that and you feel like you're in a unventilated big hall with the sweat and body odors still trapped inside of the last ten thousand visitors and their continent specific smells - just terrible. That's my first impression of Hamburg now after a one day visit...

We had on Sat, the 08.12. In 2018 we accompanied our 18-year-old daughter to Hamburg Airport. (Flight to San Jose, Costa Rica via Frankfurt). She had of course from the organization (internships worlds), over which she had booked the trip, a booking confirmation with booking number via mobile phone as well as self-expression available.
At 9:00 am we were at Terminal 2, Check-in 7.
Pia, our daughter, wanted to go directly to the check-in desk, but was asked by a young lady at the terminal, who was at the entrance, to boarding pass machines, where she was asked to enter her details. Our daughter, who worked with her boyfriend (both graduates with age-appropriate IT skills) the machine, however, failed again and again after entering the requested booking number, so I asked the lady at the entrance for assistance. She looked at me condescendingly and replied: "That must regulate your daughter!" I was perplexed and asked her what task she actually had here and who could help us now. She just repeated her first statement, and I asked for her name, which she refused, she did not have to tell me her name. In addition, she covered by hand a badge / name tag, so I had no chance to direct my displeasure purposefully to the next higher place. She then went to the first check-in counter and phoned. I grabbed my smartphone to take a picture of the person, but then looked away, as it seemed more important to me to find a competent contact person for my daughter's check-in problem. So I made my way, somewhere in this terminal, a service station or similar. to find. Meanwhile, I got a Whatsapp message from my daughter: "Mom, come quickly to the counter, the woman has threatened that I should not leave before the photo of her on the phone is not deleted, they would have already alerted the police!" Of course, I came immediately, there had luckily taken care of a Lufthansa employee to Pia, could discover the source of error with the booking number and took care of a connecting flight for Pia, since the originally booked plane had already loaded the luggage. Some Lufthansa employees at the check-in desks had also noticed the whole debacle that they would not be able to name this lady because these assistants would be provided by a third-party company and would change constantly. But we are also not the first passengers who are exposed to such reprisals by these assistants.
Incidentally, I was then still one, alerted by this assistant "departure manager", a Mr. Alexander A. (the full name I would not specify here for data protection reasons) to. This gentleman did not seem interested in service-oriented de-escalation: he literally built himself up in front of me with his arms crossed and said, "So you're the lady my co-worker" yelled at? " I wanted to put it right, but Mr. A. attacked me with reproaches: I would not have the right to ask for the name of the employees, I should not take pictures of them. I'm familiar with privacy, even wanted to show him my "clean" phone, but he was not for clarification and mediation, but he just wanted to position himself loud. It did not seem to interest him at all that due to the lack of help from his colleague our daughter had missed her plane and this colleague handled the flight crew incompetently and inadequately. (By the way, before our experience with this lady, we had also observed how an Asian passenger approached her and spoke in English, and that coworker was unable to give her adequate information in English ... the English word for "customs "was evidently foreign to her.)

It's perfectly alright. A modern airport, but like everywhere else, extremely high parking fees in front of the terminals. 4.00 for 30 min. when you want to pick someone up and the suitcase isn't there yet.

On 6 flights to different countries, no luggage arrives 2 times, no idea if that is at the airport or at the airline, but think it strange, but short fill in slip and then delivered home (so has benefits) .. More

Clean airport, with fast moving queues. You can also find a corona testing facility which is really convinient this days. Additional to this, it is not a big airport so getting around is really easy and fast. A great thing is that you can get there via car and train, not sure about bus but I would bet this is also possible.

As always, incomprehensible and not justified by slow baggage claim and - one could almost assume - deliberately long routes for arriving passengers.
There is one thing you can always rely on in recent years: Airport FHH spoils your arrival in a perfect way and does almost everything wrong that can be done wrong. Welcome to Hamburg, baby!

Staff is unfriendly, long queues in security and they might have the slowest baggage reclaim of all?!? It is quite annoying to spend an extra 45 min waiting for your luggages after a 1 hour flight...

Very friendly staff, tried to take peanut butter on board, didn't know that it's not allowed, guy on security check was very polite and smiling when told me that it's not allowed :) I love this airport, has a great atmosphere and btw it's the oldest airport in Germany

Outward flight 21.05.2017 Ham- Jerez Spain Departure 6:00 Arrived in time at the airport (04:30) horrible processing for check-in, so that it was hardly possible to fly to A 40 on foot.
Return flight 05/28/17 Flight OK 1:15 waiting for suitcase.
It can hardly be worse.

The negative rating does not apply to the employees who give their best every day to handle the passengers relaxed. However, there is a negative example at the Fast Lane for the hand luggage control in Terminal 1. The staff were just rude, stressed and rutted. When someone said that you could be a little friendlier, only Plump was answered with Jaja. The colleague then said only: "In America now all warranty would stand by foot". One comment from me is that in America you would not have made such checks. These could have held a maximum of the service on a GDR border tower in Germany.

I like to use Hamburg. The lounges are easily accessible and have a direct view of the airfield. Thanks to the S-Bahn connection, it is easy to get from Neugraben to the airport without a car.

I flew for the first time on Saturday, November 5th, 2016 and thought it was great!
I was only traveling with a backpack, so fortunately I was spared baggage handling.
The security check took less than 3 minutes.
My stuff on the tape - I under the scanner - again briefly scanned because I had forgotten my necklace, and on we went to boarding. Everything was very relaxed and easy going

Quite provincial airport.

Quite provincial airport.
Priority luggage will come to the end, no free short-term parking or pick-up in the arrivals area, staff partly bored / unfriendly

Very well designed airport with two terminals on either side of the security check point. The terminals have the airline check ins along the exterior walls and also grouped in the middle (with an underground conveyor belt for luggage) so that the need to have a long airport is negated to save walking time. The WiFi is sponsored at this point in time, but it was spotty. I think they could do some updating such as adding charging stations.

If we leave out the architecture and the shopping facilities, Hamburg Airport unfortunately does not deserve a good rating. The staff has been getting friendlier lately, there seems to have been a rethink here. But unfortunately the baggage claim is extremely slow, buses are rarely on time on the plane and security checks are usually overcrowded. I've seen a number of major international airports in comparison. Everything works much smoother there.
The charging options for electronic devices are also being expanded very slowly. At many other airports, this was standard 5 years ago and more.

Too bad, because the airport is otherwise a nice and very clean airport.

Landed and started many times in HAM as a frequent flyer. Mostly without luggage. Friendly and helpful staff. As it is much smaller than Munich and Frankfurt, Hamburg Airport exudes a certain cosiness. Good connection to road and rail.

My navel to the world and in my opinion the best airport in northern Germany with the most connections. There is always a lot to complain about, but I am absolutely satisfied with the connection (S-Bahn), the check-in, and the retail and restaurant offer. Always happy
