Cozy, relaxed and modern airport. For travelers with destination Hamburg also in Germany perfectly suitable thanks to good connections to the Frankfurt hub, for example.
Clean, comfortable, intuitive! Having arrived there for the first time, we figured out without difficulty where to go. What I really like is the metro right at the airport. And not like ours, Aeroexpress, which costs a person, to put it mildly, not cheap, but if a family of 4 people ?? !!

Life is slowly beginning again after Corona. But really slow at Hamburg Airport. Many stores are still closed, there is little to do. However, the controls are now going very quickly.

Very poor customer service at Hamburg Airport. The staff all have a couldn't care less and why should we help you attitude. I was totally disgusted with the special assistance (which we booked with the flights) for a wheelchair for my Mum. They just dumped us on arrival a few feet from the ramp of the plane saying they can't help us anymore. So I was left pushing a wheelchair, pulling a small suitcase and picking up a large suitcase from baggage, all with only 2 hands. Asked for help... Was asked why they should help us. They didn't care and didn't help. Disgusting. Wasn't much better on departure. Not a friendly service or airport, never saw a friendly smile.
Not good, no restoration open. After arriving by car to the airport, I would have liked to have a coffee and a snack, especially since I still had time until the check in. Finding toilets was also a stroke of luck, most of them were locked !!! So it works differently despite Corona ...

A chaos shop beyond compare. There is nowhere else such a badly run airport in Germany. To wait 2 hours for his luggage is considered normal here. The only advantage is the central location, you are within a few minutes by train in the city.

Big crap! The parking attendant is already lurking on departure. I just carried my wife's suitcase into the hall, and I already had a ticket. For 5 min parking. Everything was empty.

Wednesday morning, well-staffed security, short wait, friendly staff
Quite disorganized. Didn't have one line for security, or check-in to Norwegian, so had to guess what lines moved best, and I kept guessing wrong. Norwegian charged me 110 euros for an overweight bag that was only 25 kg. The gate was extremely crowded with no available seats, and very hot with no air conditioning. Security line was extremely long, and took a long time. And they touched my body everywhere after going through the body scanner. The gate check-in for the flight was also very disorganized with no visible line just a bunch of people pushing. They randomly stopped boarding, the flight was delayed and no announcement was made with an explanation, while everyone squished together continued waiting while standing.
Oh, and there was no elevator from gate to bus, so had to go down the stairs with the check-in bag and another staircase up to the plane.
And the pilot is making an announcement that Hamburg doesn't have enough baggage personnel, so they were 20 minutes late.
They had many shops at the airport, but there is no time to visit them.
It is a maze! The way they treat passengers is outstanding.
Every week I fly from HH to Zurich and Vienna. I'm always happy with my home FLG. Fast check-in, fewer delays than Vienna and especially Munich! Keep it up!

Worst airport I know. Unfortunately i have to use it frequently. Claiming your Luggage takes far too much time and ways to gates are far too long.

What a tragedy! Baggage handling is still simply unacceptable. When does the obviously disinterested airport management get the once regulated.
Hamburg remains hopelessly overtaxed at the baggage claim. While you are very fast with your luggage in large airports with much longer distances in front of the terminal, you can enjoy here every (hours) long waiting times. I wish another airport would be closer to my home base.
The loudspeaker announcements are not to understand, the prices are high-quality, the public facilities are clean, the binding is okay.
Spent a lovely afternoon there with my son. A trip there is always worth the trip.
And even in the fast food restaurant everything was great. Freshly prepared food, the seats were clean, the dishes trolleys were empty and the staff were friendly.
A good airport, there is a left-luggage office, racks for wrapping a suitcase with film, a friendly informant and a snack place, but there really are few places for sitting and huge queues for registration

In the past, we were enthusiastic about the fast handling and the quick baggage claim - now everything likes to take forever - there are delays in the flights en masse and at the baggage carousel we were last 1 hour until almost 11:30 pm ... after that there were no taxis at the airport .... there was also a long queue. It's just a better province in terms of flying.

Today we had to go through passport control twice although we could simply stay on the plane for the flight to Munich. We were really lost there and they have not even led us in which one performs these checks. A real outrageousness. More than two hours we were stopped and 5 times we had to show our damn passports. The arrogance with which people are treated here is unbelievable. And the body scanners are so hypersensitive that almost everyone is scanned extra again.

Very clean . Well organized, parking fees are a bit high, at the arrivals the screens are too far back for an overview of the arrivals, there are screens with advertising in front ... Unfortunately, Hamburg Airport has developed negatively in recent years - despite enlargement, better transport links and numerous shop offers. What good is XXL Airport if there are fewer and fewer flight offers (various airlines are no longer available, e.g. Mallorca - years ago tw ten to twenty flights a day today with luck one or two direct flights and the tw outrageously expensive; almost only fork flights) and the service tw is one of the worst in Europe (e.g. waiting times for suitcases or just a bus on landing and waiting times of twenty minutes)

My home airport is unfortunately one of the worst airports in Germany and is characterized by mismanagement. At no airport do you experience queues at security checkpoints as often as in Hamburg. Lufthansa does not manage to provide enough baggage drop-off machines - or counters and staff. The restrooms are often filthy and nowhere else do I see red flutter tape, which once again blocks a treadmill, a door, and a path because it is defective. And of course the baggage claim: so that the statistics are correct and the airlines cannot make a recourse, the first container on a flight is quickly unloaded so that the conveyor belt begins to run, then the next container is unloaded somewhere else on another conveyor belt and waits on our own conveyor belt you then easily take 15-20 minutes until the rest of the suitcases are handed out. Mismanagement with insufficient staff ... Unfortunately, unfortunately, unfortunately!
Check in relatively easily ... The staff was very nice. On arrival in Hamburg unfortunately very long waiting times at the suitcase issue. As I have heard from other travelers, who also land here several times a year, a waiting time of 1h and more is not uncommon. Possibly. think about it to hire more staff to possibly compensate for illness and holidays. Some customers would be willing to pay slightly more at the travel agency and / or the event organizer to enjoy a smoother process. Unfortunately, our cases were additionally damaged, which further substantiates our thesis.

Small tips----here has 2 terminals , but actually if you don't need to check in on the counter (you already have your boarding pass in your hand) , you can just run to the security checkpoints to get into Gates, because the terminal are together... only 2 sides down the departure hall. After the security checkpoint, you can figure out which gate you should go. Save a bit time ~
A large beautiful airport with many restaurants and small shops. Everything is very clean and clear. Employees are on the ball and you are everywhere quickly served and handled.

Province Airport. Only once a week departure to Dubrovnik is ridiculous. Bad connections for business travelers. Recently you can not even leave the handkerchief in the pants at the security scan, bags to put in the handkerchiefs are not given.

It is the main hub for the northern Germany to International airports. I like this airport because it is easy to get into this airport from the main station. Inside the airport, it has a center of luggage where you can put your baggage more than 24 hours, I had experience with this. Fresh food also easy to get around the building.
