Everything works as it should - good airport easy to find around

One of my favorite airports in Germany. Nice people, helpful and friendly. Supermarket, direct U / S-Bahn connection

Waiting for luggage for 50 minutes is simply not possible.

Bright airport, a few relaxed seats upstairs, you have to find them. Relatively attractive duty free price. Before the Corona virus there were two water fountains, removed, I hope they will put them back. Efficient security check, remove everything including the watch, even plastic.

HAM is developing into one of the worst airports in Europe. It is a disaster on the ground, especially if you are brought by bus to the plane.
Since you want to get out, but still have to wait 20 minutes in the plane because no buses are available.
At the same time, but the new passengers are waiting in the bus in front of the plane and can not get in, because there were no buses for the incoming Paxe ..
ATC .. the pilots (admittedly not all sit in Hamburg) are also an impertinence.
Anyone who knows London (STN) or (LHR) or Frankfurt or anywhere else can only wonder how bad the traffic flow in the air and how haphazard on the ground runs.
The traffic with a train in STN is many times higher than in HAM with two trains (albeit crossed) but you have to deal with much more professional staff.
If there is a director needed, then he has to do and does the TOP.
In HAM, a director comes into play, if .. yes if ?? .. at some point stops and sends the plane often times in pointless delay vectors .. BRE Radar, HAM, Ground, Apron the clearance .. everything is getting worse and worse .. And the season begins :-( How do only the other places ?

Super airport. Handling and assistance to the travelers are great. There you can not get lost.

As a first-time flyer: finding the security check was one of those things. Feasible, but only after taking a good look around.
Otherwise everything was good: some shops were open, the WiFi was fast and reliable enough for a university lecture and the toilet was clean.

Good connectivity to and from the city with the train. About 30 min in s1 from the central station.
Immigration staffs could be more friendly though the waiting times are relatively low as compared to other metropolitan airports
And the airport conducts no or only emergency flights from 11pm to 6am to let the people of Hamburg sleep sound

We parked in the airport's parking for 6 days and regretted having to pay 150 euros for a week. When we got home we were asked 189 euros without it anywhere !!! .. so strict!

One hour until the suitcases arrive. Corona or not - it's just too long!
Desolate planning from the airport!

Worlds better than the filthy Heraklion airport, but still very annoying: 50 minutes late for departure because there were no baggage employees, then 2 revised people had to do it alone without a transport vehicle.
And now when we return we are back on the baggage belt for 70 minutes and nothing happens. Damn enough people at reasonable wages!

Fantastic airport with great connections to Hamburg city center and at a relatively close distance compared to others. It has quite a few shops although in restoration it may be missing something else. The security staff was very friendly.

Bad luggage service, just forgot to load 40 suitcases.

At the moment I'm just annoyed about the noise on Sunday morning. What in God's name are they doing at 6 o'clock? Only to puke

Not enough staff in a modern building. Therefore, security checks of up to an hour and (particularly negative) wait for suitcases at the output conveyor for more than an hour. For that alone actually zero points. For months / years unchanged explanations from the airport "... you would not find any staff ..." Pathetic and embarrassing for Hamburg. FINALLY CHANGE SOMETHING instead of just thinking about your winnings. Provincial airport instead of cosmopolitan flair, when baggage claim takes longer than the flight. Oh, there is no complaint center at the airport.

Staff have always been rude and not very helpful when asked ...

Unhelpful security personnels.
They did not offer the assistance on even one simple thing, exactly that simple thing that I got help easily at Vancouver Airport.

From Hamburg Airport I like to fly so far. You will find everything you need here. In the non-security area are various shops where you can eat / drink (bakeries, McDonalds, Starbucks) but also an Edeka, in case you forgot something. Also in the departure area you will find various shops for food / drinks. There is also the possibility to replenish water in own bottles for free at the water dispensers. For smokers there are smoking cabins, as well as the Lucky Strike Lounge. There is also free Wi-Fi throughout the airport. Unfortunately, the parking at the airport is a bit expensive.

Airport looks tidy overall, but simply too small for today's conditions!
Parking spaces are a disaster, just pick someone up from the airport !!!! horror

Very neat everything. The staff is fair to the passengers all praise for the travel from Hamburg.

Passengers sitting at the gate 1.5 hours before departure will be denied boarding without reasonable justification. Incredible states! Next time, I would prefer to go from Berlin or Bremen.

There are only a few English broadcasts in the airport (most of them only in German), which is not convenient for tourists: I hope it can be improved!

Easy and conveniently available from the city, nice and helpful staff, has everything to have, and it's easy to find it :)

What can you say about Hamburg Airport? It is fun to fly from here and there are always very interesting planes that go to Lufthansa, among other things.

A tragedy to pay for extra baggage with a credit card. They use the EC circuit as in the whole area of Hamburg, the other cards do not digest them well. Oversized luggage to be placed on the scale and then take back to the second check, a little uncomfortable. Information mainly in German. Great and modern airport. Everything very clearly. There is a 2 star deduction for the ALWAYS very long waiting times at the security check. Every other airport can handle PAXes quickly. In Hamburg - no matter when you want to travel - you have to be prepared for long waiting times. Prices for drinks in the security area are way too high ...

The security check at the airport is useless. Security Fast Lane is completely uncontrolled, everyone is allowed through here. In addition, the service concept at the airport is not particularly important. I fly from Hamburg at least three times a month, and every time I'm endlessly annoyed by the security controls!

The private conversations at the security checkpoint are legendary! This is one reason why there are incredibly long queues although all the control cells are open. The work is quite gladly forgotten at this point, one has finally to tell a lot from the private life.

Long wait for the luggage. 4 pieces of luggage with red priority tags were packed in the same container at the departure airport (seen from the plane). Waited in HH 50 min until the first 3 came, the last 10 min later. From baggage conveyor 1 to the car rental counters you have to cross the entire terminal building. Then again 400 m to the parking garage with the rental car.

It could be that I have been unlucky. But the two times I have traveled to or from Hamburg airport have been very poor experiences. I use supplemental oxygen everyday and usually need a wheelchair to get through the airport. Both times I was in the Hamburg airport, it was near impossible to get assistance in this area, even though the service was requested in advance. There was an overall unwillingness from the staff to solve the problem past that they didn't see the request in their computers. And when assistance was finally given, the least amount of effort required to complete the job was what I received.

Catastrophic Chekcin disclosure. Unfriendly staff. International comparison of one of the worst airports. Only the charles de gaulle airport is even worse.

Quite close to the city, good service in general, only downside the arrivals are really aging

As a frequent flyer unfortunately the worst part of every trip. A fast lane that is not, too few buses / drivers and staff unload the luggage even with small irregularities in a timely manner. So you can stand for about 20 minutes on the apron and wait for the bus, an hour on the luggage belt or eternities at the gate because no free bus is currently available. This airport is a nuisance from A-Z and can not meet the demands of the city. The parking positions with long distances are just in winter an impertinence, the 'boarding into the stairwell' with long waiting times a bad habit.

The 2nd star is available for the quite good range of gastronomy and retail.

PS: When do these totally annoying credit card brokers finally fly out of the check-in, arrivals and even departure area?

A clear and clean airport.
Here you can shop, have lunch and stroll.
The parking fees are too expensive.

Terminal 1, security control. Display 19 minutes waiting time. I just got through after waiting 50 minutes. At the same time, half of the control lanes are closed.

Incompetent planning. Customer orientation is zero.

Toilets are a mess.

Arrived at the Airport on the morning of 21st January - The departure table stated 11 minutes to Gate B - With plenty of time to spare we did our shopping and headed for the Gate B only to find a long queue. It took 45 minutes to get to the immigration checking desk. In the meantime many worried passengers were jumping the queue worried about missing their flight. Soon some passengers started to lose their patience and stopped allowing people to jump the queue. When i got to the immigration desk i asked if I could give a polite feedback pointing out the long queue and the need for some action. The response was a cynical grin with a dismissal of any problem - Very surprised at lack of usual efficiency. while waiting for my flight I noticed at least two people miss their flight to at the gate next to B49 for a flight to Ireland. I hope they complained and were compensated - Very poor organisation and disappointing experience.

Worst airport ever. Avoid...Fly to the new Berlin airport and take the train or Flixbus.The woman who answers the Aegean desk phone must be fired. She doesn't even speak and understand proper English which is imposed by the law. I had to repeat the correct address and numbers, thanks i knew a bit of German. Regarding the case of my lost luggage the airport service is terrible. My suitcase has arrived since Sunday afternoon and they delivered it at last in the right address Tuesday night. In the meantime they have filled in wrong address in the lost luggage location form and they told me that they have lost my suitcase and delivered it to the wrong address.

Easily accessible, poorly signposted. Gastro could be better. Sufficient parking space available.

Always far too slow clearance. Relocation of the security area between the terminals has unfortunately made it even worse. This too far to long ways for such a mini airport. No "national or international" food brands in the security area.

Baggage claim is a disaster for a city like Hamburg. So better min 50 minutes to plan for 1.5 hours until the luggage arrives. Or just travel with hand luggage.

Slow employees. Until you get your suitcase you wait up to 45 minutes ... Saturday noon. As please. It can not be that you have to wait so long !!

I like the airport, but the parking fees are just way too expensive.

The selection of shops and restaurants is good, the prices at the normal airport level, and the airport as a whole is very clear.

Very rude, you don't get any competent information or you don't try to help, great service.

Quite an interesting stop to enter Germany outside the cliches- Frankfurt/Munich. Very neat and pleasant. The arrivals area is well organised. During winter, the landings can be pretty scary as the possibility of seeing the runway from above is null.

Hop-sloop! There are several options for traveling to Hamburg Airport. In addition to a taxi, there is also a bus, and the most convenient and cheapest is the S-Bahn train, which goes to the terminal. Super old infrastructure and we had to wait for >1h for our luggage to arrive due to a strike it seems.

Baggage claim that day (05/11/17) poor. Wait 45 minutes! No communication, faulty display on the line. Displayed baggage investigation was not responsible, just referred. You didn't know anything there either. At some point the luggage came ...
Otherwise nice, clean, quiet airport.

Absolute horrific airport, waited for More than 1,5, hours for our flight. No information why flight was delayed, no systematic Progress on passengers
.we were driven with a Bus to our Plane, waiting There for additional half an hour to Bring the Rest of Missing passengers to the Plane, due to silly Staff Not beeing able to do Boarding accordingly.

Avoid Hamburg Airport As much as possible.

Always clean, very typical priced food, coffee, and things like this. If you need help, most everyone speaks at least German and English.

Waiting - on luggage, at security, on buses. That's what Hamburg Airport can do. The actual flight is always much faster.

The airport in Hamburg is simply beautiful, clear and, above all, very clean.

Excellent airport to start adventures and always immediately feels like home in the second you landed
