The suitcases were lost on the flight from Lisbon (LX2087) via Zurich to Hamburg (LX1058) on Saturday the 20.07.2019. After AHS was able to find them again in Switzerland, it was promised that they would be delivered to us. Since Tuesday is the 23.07.2019, this is now three days ago.

It is not possible to contact AHS personally. The given telephone numbers are only automatic announcements or the reference to the website to go. The site is not mobile-friendly. If you enter the reference number into the "Stone Age" interface, you will always receive the same status - that the baggage has not yet been "scheduled" for delivery.

Since our son is allergic and asthmatic, he urgently needs his medication in the suitcases. In addition, in the suitcase are various summer clothes, hygiene items that we just have to do without.

Why can not you give me a day and a window to return my property?
Why is it not possible for you to give me a binding contact, so that I can pick up my bags at the airport?

I'll sit down today with the Consumer Center and my lawyer to find out how to get our luggage, claim recourse, and discard such customer-unfriendly behavior.

Unbearably slow baggage issue. Regularly over 45 min. until the suitcases appear on the tape.

Great airport and such a beautiful viewing deck I could sit there for hours and watch the travelers and the flyers

Very long waiting time for the security check (Sunday evening). This even with reduced flight operations. Be sure to plan in 30 to 60 minutes.

Airport is modern and atmospheric BUT the staff at the security is really BAD. Treat adult people like kindergartners. Have not yet learned that the number of luggage trays should be reduced. Three tubs for a small 5 kilo hand luggage, belt, and thin rain jacket; for each one :-) :-)
Security members are really bad. Treat you like little kids.

1 hour flight u whacked 40 min on the luggage waited .... On demand when the luggage comes was only with soon to be answered.

Lines are long, check- in needs to be done in person, on average to drop off your bag allow a minimum of 40 minutes. No trace of German efficiency.

Sorry, but waited for the bus for almost 20 minutes today. After landing. This is the third time in six months. With all understanding of the requirements of the apron construction site, this is a miserable capacity planning.

Long queue at none Schengen passport check which affects UK passengers, makes a 50 minute transfer, which is a legal transfer time, almost impossible without pleading with security, yes lots of shops but getting between flights is difficult and guess what baggage gets delayed too.

Unfortunately, the two elevators have been defective for 2 weeks.

I have already reported this twice and the "friendly" gentleman told me that the parts / discs have been ordered and it takes until they are delivered and very arogant that I can report them again.

Sad but true
I expected a little more in Germany.

PS: Who knows where the parts come from? .... Bermuda Triangle ???

I am always happy to fly to or from Hamburg. Usually the security checks are fast and efficient, and lately the introduced a new system allowing four people at once to put their things in the plastic cases, speeding up the process. The inside shops and cafes are nice, all in all it is easy to finde ones way around. The only disadvantage I see are the lack of uber service, that it seems is not allowed in the city / region.

Waited another hour for the luggage. Customer orientation looks different.

Big but not too big airport with a decent international offering. However, you still have to change trains for most overseas flights. That is not a problem, but every change takes time and often nerves.

The advantages of a small aurport outweigh the short distances, easy access to the disadvantages such as only flying until 23:00

I fly regularly from Hamburg, but the conditions on July 21, 2017 definitely did justice to a third world country. No baggage carts, chaotic traffic routing with taxi drivers from the Bosphorus, which we madly drive through the disembarking passengers.
Then in Terminal 1, a non-functioning baggage transport system at check-in, which led to considerable delays.
And as an absolute top, there is only an available baggage check-in counter, which, in dealing with the customer, is more reminiscent of a "thick and goofy" episode. The little man at the reception obviously felt comfortable handling the bulky goods despite the 70 m queue with provocative slowness. The fact that you had to look at your disgusting brown and partially missing teeth made the impression perfect that you are not in a leading industrial nation.
Only the use of the Fast Lane, which was made possible by the airline due to the massive delay, could then reconcile something with friendly staff and quick, professional handling.
As an almost consequent development of the experiences made, it was of course not possible to invite our four pieces of luggage checked in together to PMI, so that we were allowed to go on vacation with a missing suitcase.
So thank you so much, Hamburg Airport ...

One of the worst experiences in my life. We missed our flight. We were late because the train was too late, on the way I contacted Hamburg Airport and asked how long the check-in window was open. We were assured that if we were there 40 minutes before departure, this would not be a problem. We were there 42 minutes before departure, check-in window was already closed. We asked staff, a woman even took our passports, but returned after 3 minutes on the grounds that everything was too late. Yes, I understand we should be there 2 hours before the flight is also our fault. But show no goodwill, we had our daughter (1.5 years old) with us. I have already bought new tickets and our plane was still there!
Even more interesting: the next day we were there again with new tickets (this time correctly at 10.05 - 2 hours before the flight) and what do we see a huge queue (approx. 400 people if not more) and only two check-in windows were open . There were flights from Air Berlin to Mallorca and Tenerife, which were processed together.
Finally, at 11.50 a.m., we handed in our bags and received boarding cards. And that 15 MIN before departure !!!! We have not yet handed over our stroller and security control was still ahead of us. We did all of that in a pig gallop with a baby in our arms.
What I want to say: it is 15 minutes before departure !!! And we were there the day before 42 minutes before departure! And nobody wanted to help us!

Signs somewhat confusing, especially when arriving.

The airport isn't that big. The shopping possibilities not exactly abundant. But everything else is pretty clean. Staff is friendly. The lookout terrace could be better signposted.
Otherwise, the airport is always a little experience.

When you find staff that can take a long time, it is usually unfriendly and disrespectful. You shouldn't expect helpfulness, rather disinterest and disrespectful reports. Really the most uncomfortable airport I've ever been to.

Unacceptable security check. Very unfriendly staff. We witnessed how a lady was treated very rude. It was noticeable that the (female) staff enjoyed commanding her around for no apparent reason. The staff member was looking of either Turkish or Persian origin, while the lady seemed apparently German and was an attractive appearance. It was more than embarrassing to witness the scene. We will certainly avoid using this airport again and certainly I will not let my wife travel alone via Hamburg Airport.

Very unfriendly customs officers but otherwise a good airport

Very nice airport. Everyone tries very hard. I like to be here - the best are u.a. The automated passport controls, as well as the smoking areas after the security checks. By far a plus, but not self-evident. Maybe you can file at the check-in process, but otherwise top.

From landing to baggage claim 50 (!) Minutes. I could almost have flown back then.

S Bahn would have to go to the airport earlier in the week, at least from the main station and always every 10 minutes (6 am flights). Handling staff mostly hectic and unfriendly. Apart from that, the airport is clean and clear.

Easily accessible and clear. Viewing terrace with a good view of the apron. The staff is friendly and helpful. Gastronomy is so-so, other shops are sometimes very overpriced! Luggage management is catastrophic !!! THE AIRPORT MANAGEMENT SHOULD URGENTLY EXTEND A TRAINEE PROGRAM IN BAGGAGE HANDLING FOR 10 WEEKS !!! It is simply unbelievable how to maintain such conditions! If you have more than hand luggage, you should avoid Hamburg!

Long ways without roller conveyor, but many shops and very nice staff. I was completely satisfied.

Expensive and slow. Then also WLAN, which does not work. Weak!

Its an airport... Best thing is small size so you can get through fairly quickly. Piblic transport is good as well as S bahn comes to terminal and goes directly downtown. Shopping and eating relative limited. Bags collection is hit or miss, sometimes super fast and sometimes you wait and wait.

My home airport and great location. Nice architecture. Everything has gone well here, whether to London, Rome, Vienna, Zurich, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Munich, Paris or Bucharest.

Flight from Hamburg to Vienna: As an EU citizen, you will be controlled like a felon (despite traveling with a small baby). You can also exaggerate!

Small airport, but nice, clean, organized, with nice food and shopping options

One of my favorite airports. Architecturally, the airport is a dream, especially the large departure halls with the high ceilings are great. The paths are relatively short, the way to the plane is absolutely understandable and logical. Only the prices for food and drinks are too high as in most airports. Overall, the range of shops but very good.

I fly to and from this airport on a regular basis, usually around once a month. Every time my experience has been terrific. The longest I've waited to enter arrivals was probably 10 minutes. Security at departures are very quick and helpful. the airport is very clean and well kept.

Every time it is completely overcrowded and disorganized here. Every time we arrive after the holiday we have to wait a long time for our luggage because the belts are so overcrowded that no more suitcases can fit in. The staff is also mostly unfriendly.

In other countries and airports it works a thousand times better, strange that it never works here.

No adequate corona protective measures. The airport is apparently exempt from the measures ordered by the state. The queue at the hand luggage control offers everything a super spreader in Hamburg could wish for with a distance of about 30 cm to the left and right

Great stay at the airport, many seats and good food. The staff at the bag checks could be a bit nicer, therefore only four stars.

I only get 4 stars because I have unfortunately tried in vain anything about the airport regarding magnet souvenirs or the like. I find everything I get at the port but nothing that I would have liked at the airport, which I think is a shame

Just great, I always feel good. Especially the toilets are great. Sometimes there are n couples there are strange people but it works.

I love this airport! Food court has good choice of meals, many great shops, tables to work with power/USB plugs. Very quick through security line. Can't believe other reviewers vent their issues with airlines at this lovely place. Get a grip on reality people!

It is an absolute disaster and insolence! You regularly wait for buses while on the plane! Then machines land after one and also park next door and the buses control this machine first! Then the suitcases never come! In the morning, security is also completely overloaded. REQUIREMENT

Actually I think this airport is too small for the "airport of the north", but well. You have enough restaurants and cafes (of course, very expensive) and a few other shops to shop while waiting.

Very beautiful architecture, modern design, spacious halls, nowhere does one feel cramped and the noise level is relatively low. Beautiful Auswahla n shops behind the customs and also a view of the roof terrace worthwhile with a long wait. Top Hamburg Airport!

Airport is quite OK. SPecially new personal scanners (2018.04 ->) are SUPER, super FAST. Restaurants are OK. Time by time taxi drivers on the front of airport hall (arriving hall) are making you suprises like "we accept card" and when arriving to destination " we dont accept card" or "if card there is extra charge". Off course this is not legal. It is enought to be strong and " call police". After several experiences I start to use Airport HANSA VIP pickup and "no problems any more".
