Toilets are well cleaned and tidy. Staff friendly. Not all of them comply with the corona rules

The worst airport i have ever seen. Not enaf personal at arrival and depature pasport control. You should waite for ours.

An airport of short distances, where you can hardly get lost. It has the charm of another era and therefore you can be generous with one or the other shortcoming. In any case, I think it's practical and good.

Smaller than Hamburg Airport (only 15 main terminal boarding gates).
Around the main terminal, the terminal is used on both sides of EasyJet and Eurowings.
As it is a small airport, there are advantages and disadvantages (it is bigger because it is not an LCC airport).
There is a boarding gate right next to the check-in procedure.
PP Lounge has only 3 Lufthansa, Air France and British Airways in Terminal 1.
As it is an old airport, the arrival and departure halls are attached together.
Wi-Fi has no time limit unlike other German airports.
The accessibility is better than a chain of felt, so this offsets one disadvantage !!
(Chinefeld felt uncomfortable to go to humans ...)

Badly planned and inefficient in handling larger amounts of passengers. Easily leads to delays.

Worst airport bisscher, waiting for hours for luggage.

It might be convenient for the bus, but when we landed it took more than half an hour to get off the plane due to a lack of staff. We then had to wait even longer for the luggage. It was the longest time since landing and leaving the airport that I have ever encountered when there has been no passport control due to flying within the Schengen zone.

After a few nice days in Berlin, we unfortunately had to return to Tegel. Yes, the bus ride was easy but that's when the fun stopped. Having used the automatic check in a baggage label printer for KLM, we were unable to drop our luggage off for over an hour. Why have the machines if there is no infrastructure to cope with them! This is by far the worst airport I have ever been to in terms of organisation and it does not meet with the expectations of the German public transport system

My darling airport, still hope it never closes, maybe for me the last time was "Thank you Tegel Airport"

Slightly rude and annoyed staff. The free mobile phone charging stations are positive.

Let's face the truth. Port is outdated, deteriorated, dirty and filthy. Small. Very unorganized. Lack of shops and seats. Nothing to do nearby. Hard to believe that you are in capital city of Germany. Polizei patrols with long automatic rifles and K9. Atmosphere of permanent risk of potential terrorist attack. Jammed parking lot. Hint: If someone picks you up try to meet him at the entrance to terminal A, under the control tower with huge name of Otto Lilienthal. This spot is much more accessible (for a moment only) than any other parking around the airport.

Worse airport of the world for a capital city!!! Chaos, extremely slow, dirty and nothing to do. Delay are often.

Classic German hospitality. For example, no chance of express queue. If you're late, don't expect any favours from the lovely staff.

First time from Berlin Tegel Terminal C.

Never before have securitas employees been so unfriendly (there were a few exceptions).
Customers get scared at the entrance.
During the security check, all food from hand luggage had to be packed individually into the bowl (is new to me?). Communication very unfriendly on request since when it is, you only get unfriendly answers and comments like you can leave the airport ...
My girlfriend was pulled by the hair without prior notice (of course they are allowed to, but prior communication ... zero ...)
Lighters from me were disposed of without comment.
A corona test was carried out on a milky-way pack ... ??

PS. No one needs such unfriendly and snotty staff ....

Berlin Tegel Airport is a bad experience. Way too small, way too old fashioned, miserable shops and cafees. Most interesting food to buy is a curry wurst. The staff in the Airport are so rude and unfriendly. All in all a horrible experience.

Just awful - the part is old - okay.
But here is no longer a Euro invested.
And the staff is incredibly indifferent.
Even if the plane lands on time, nobody comes to punctuality on time.
And that is unfortunately the rule and no exception.

The airport is in a bad state for German conditions. It is disastrous that has an airport in the capital, no underground connection. So much fun when you have to drive the bus after a long flight or just a taxi.

One star for proximity to central Berlin, one star for moderately working Terminal C. Otherwise a dump.

Even one star is to much for the airport. The lines for check in and security control are endless.
I arrived 4 hours before the flight and guess what, I missed it queueing in the half a mile long line.
The only thing the staff could say on my complaints was "tut mir leid, cannot help you with anything". Well, avoid this airport at any cost or it may cost you extra tickets and quite a headache.

An airport as it must be. Functional and no shopping center.

The airport is getting a bit old. You notice that clearly when you come from Frankfurt. Unfortunately, despite the airport, which is not too big, check-in and gate are far apart. Each gate has its own security check and the area after it is small and is not exactly pleasant for the waiting time. The few positive aspect, from the departure gate one could observe take-off and landing planes.

The two worst Airports in Europe are both in Berlin...

Utterly ridiculous. Rude security and WC with ONE cabin for the entire set of 3 gates. Long waiting times via security.

The easyJet customer service in terminal C is appalling.

The most embarrassing airport in the world! In addition, in the security area unfriendly staff! Even if the BER is not ready you can do more from TXL! A smile does not cost much!

On average and very much. I encountered some minor difficulties during several visits .. :)

Close to Berlin. No direct train access to the city though.

One of the most efficient airports I know. Short ways from the city to the airport, the shortest routes within the airport (if you fly Lufthansa or Star Alliance) that I know. Not exactly uplifting from the design, but practical.

Very lame and unmotivated security personnel. Especially in the metalworking terminal C and D. There is suicidal mood. Really not nice and only functional. Everything old and rundown, but with a certain architectural charm of yesteryear.

Not enough facilities for the number of people that go through here. It's also pretty dirty, and overall it was a pretty annoying experience, even by airport standards.

Actually o.k., but it is time for a renovation. Partly very narrow paths and waiting areas.

The building itself is meh, but staff let me carry my weed grinder without a problem, so staff is good .

The airport sign is unclear, and there is a need to walk over the bridge between different areas. In the middle of the night, only Area A is opened. The other areas are only open at 4 o'clock. It is extremely inconvenient for passengers who board the flight at 6 o'clock in the morning.

An outdated airport in the center of Berlin. But it belongs to Berlin like the wall. The connection is perfect, you are at the airport within 20 minutes, the check-ins are super fast. I often fly from Berlin Tegel on business and can only say that the airport makes my life easier thanks to its connection. Of course it is outdated and not a luxury airport. But it serves what it was built for - to arrive and depart!

I saw a lot of airports and it's the worst to date (even Orly is better)
huge waiting time to drop off luggage and even worse to pass through security
limited space in the airport (difficult to find a seat in the waiting room)

Employees have no idea about anything and the security children do a 1 job

My favorite airport .. passports on each gate .. inspection directly behind the counters of the boarding and entry .. Everything is close and easy ..

A good airport. Five stars xche small but well organized, with all the information easily available. Connected to the city center with a very comfortable bus that takes you to the center in about twenty minutes

A functional small airport but feels some what dated.

I was there for the last time. I was told at the check - in very rude and indifferent that I stand on standby and maybe I have no place. With more empathy, my heart might not have slipped so fast. The ladies in the control are very demotivated and pissed off. Languages very rude with me. Thumbs down

Long Q, poor management. Too much waiting time with no place to sit. Very few restaurants and shopping. Unclean washrooms too.

I have read so many bad reviews but I have no problems with the way things went for me. Very efficient and thorough checkin and passport control. Maybe the sooks who gave a 1* rating need to go to Istanbul and suffer the queues and crazy checking systems.

Security per gate and unclear which gate you need. Bad information. You really have to be on time, otherwise you won't make it. Immediately behind security the waiting area, nothing open, so you cannot get anything to drink.

A small and inadequate airport. The free shop is too small. Even the grocery store is larger. Heeyer is very old. The only plus is that there are not many lines.

I fly from this airport every week. Every second time I have problems with the Securitas security staff, they are slow, incompetent and unfriendly. You think you can not help them.
I recommend everyone in case of problems to note the personnel numbers and write an e-mail.

This airport is the worst when compare to all other airports I travelled. It's look like a crowded bus stop. It's old crowded place with no proper planning.

How about the airport in the capital ... I can not check in automatically, so it takes an hour for immigration examination. Because it is small, I do not get lost and I am saving by bus to the city soon.

As it is a straight line, it is easy to understand if only the airline counter is known
There is a duty free shop, but it is the same size as a kiosk

A third-world airport: the check-in entrances to the boarding / checks are very few, therefore hyper-crowded, narrow and only one hour like in all the other airports to access the flight would not be enough.
During this waiting a person in a wheelchair would really panic and a family with children just as much. I hope there were plain-clothes agents, those in uniform were rare.

Praise for checking in at Tegel Airport. Since we had already printed out our boarding passes at home, the baggage check and the hand luggage check went very quickly. The flight was delayed.
On the return flight, which was also delayed, we waited for our bags from 10:25 p.m. to 11:20 p.m. I found that to be a cheek, as only 2 machines had arrived.

More than 1.5 hour waiting for luggage at A12, flight FB 319 from Sofia. No information for the reason. We see the luggage just staying outside....

Awful. Fly only from Tegel if there is no other way. Virtually everyone is annoyed or unreasonably rude. The police are not responsible if someone is stolen directly on the checkin of the suitcase. Hanging cameras, but is too much to ask that sometimes move, finally babble just so nice with colleagues ....... Everything has the shabby charm of a provincial airport in the years. But the main thing is smoke-free, not that even a flaky dirt dump flares off.

Too old, too small and too few staff. Baggage claim always takes at least 60 to 90 minutes. Graduations (to, train) can not be reached! Absolutely bad service !!!

The airport unfortunately degenerates more and more. Too few buses for transfer flights to the terminal, all ATMs in the terminal out of service, wait 20min in the taxi queue, while you still honked by the cleaning machine and touched down. Unfortunately, this is not possible anymore! A shameful figurehead for a capital airport!

Designed with the worst customer experience in mind. Felt more like livestock transferring farms. Cramped, lacking in decent amenities, queues for days. I've visited many countries, this is not what I'd expect from a first world international airport.

Absolute joke the organization of this airport. Berlin can not be that beautiful (and it's really nice) that it could balance the organization at the airport.

Really dated airport, looks more like old factory hall. Not enough bathrooms, seating areas or other useful stuff usually available at normal airports.

The only benefit is small. But with so many people, such a small airport would have to go through the security line for at least half an hour. In addition, the place where the baggage boarding pass and the security check are almost overlapped, and I don't know which team to line up. I can't walk.

My experiences today: drove to the Terminal C parking lot, then didn't come back down because there was a traffic jam in the entire parking lot. Reason: one barrier was locked, the second was defective, or you had to wait so long that the fee paid was no longer sufficient and every second one had to pay. so I had to pay five euros later. That's outrageous, and I'm demanding the money back from the airport.

Check-in was also poorly organized as usual: since the conveyor belt for the suitcases wasn't running, you stood at the counter forever and nothing happened. Strangely enough, something like that works perfectly at all airports around the world, just not in Tegel.

The fastest airport in the world ... only one minute from cab to airport gate. Highly recommended. Soo sad that it will close by October 31 2020

Layout is pretty poor and signposting even worse. Spent ages driving in circles trying to find the place to return hire cars. More signs and maps for pedestrians (and drivers) indicating where things are (Not just the different terminals) wouldnt go amiss either. Had a run in with one particularly rude and unhelpful police officer (although to be fair the others I dealt with were lovely). The lack of a train service is also a major issue. There is little advance information about which terminals flights are departing from (although this may be an airline issue ?) And the place could do with some all-airline self check in machines to reduce the queues at the desks.

The very last thing about service! Waited for luggage for over an hour. No information, no employees to help ... nothing. Wisag is the service provider. Wisag hotline not available to ask about his luggage.

I've never seen this before. The whole airport is like unimobunek for workers on the construction site. 2 stars for booze with booze, because other than scrap can not survive much.

Up there with Paris CDG as the worst airport in Europe.
Don t go through security until the last minute, there is NOTHING on the other side.

If you ever fly through here, you will see exactly why they are building a new airport and closing this one. Arrive early.....

Best airport ever will miss Tegel once it s closing.

Airplane has a defect and therefore can not start as planned, then you wait 30 minutes on the plane to get out. Announcement from the pilot, he is sorry it takes so long, but the airport does not know where to go with them. Are you serious? Then one is said the next flight goes in 2 hours although it is known that has this delay and only in 2.5 hours go off. Here you are practically held.

Horrible airport. Here waiting on a 10:15 am flight in Terminal C. There's two coffee stands but no one is manning them. According to some other staff those staff are on break and they have no clue when they'll be back. There's literally no coffee or food to be purchased if you're waiting in Terminal C.

Confusing and in dire need of a make over. Also, the baggage carousel in located right next to the little passport control booth as soon as you get off the plane - it's very easy to miss! It is not down in some central area like a normal airport.

Small and always busy airport You can easily identify it I do not recommend the black market because it is very bad There are several buses to transport arrivals outside the airport and then they can ride other transport such as trains and the like to get to the destination in Berlin.

Great location but the worst out of date airport I have been to, archaic security checks which just creates unnecessary delays. Its too small and disorganised for such a prestigious city

You can already tell that investments in TXL have been scaled back - but everything is running as usual.
Much stronger was the feeling of having landed and arrived in Tegel for the last time. A certain sadness accompanied the way to the exit.
But also thanks to this airport, especially the people who kept it running for decades.
Tegel was the lifeline for this city and we will always remember it fondly!

Never enter the gate early. I have nothing to do with my phone. Instead, check-in can be overcrowded, so you must come to the airport 2 hours in advance.

I do my best with my work and people I deal with. That's why I succeed. At Tegel Airport, I have neither the feeling that there are qualified people, neither expertise nor emotional competences can be found here by the staff. It's just embarrassing to be born here myself. It does not annoy me that the airport is old. However, I would like to be served friendly and - also very important - I need specific u ukuenfte technical information. both are missing here. how embarrassing .....

In general, the airport is absolutely outdated and dirty. The waiting halls are completely overcrowded and offer too few seats.

Checked in in terminal C with bulky luggage, very short on time and was so lucky to be at Claudia s desk (Iberia express, 6:20 am - 26th April 2018). Thanks for making my day: super helpful, friendly and very sweet.

Can there be any airport worse than this?
We were herded to the bus from the plane and let go off it to an unmarked entry followed by stair cases to get to the building
No clear direction on the stairs and lo and behold upstairs going only 2 flights we were on arrival level with no option going back to pick our luggage
Were sent to the baggage service and had to wait 3 hours to receive our luggage also paying 15 euros for each bag
There were many other passengers like us with same scenario
Chaotic baggage centre with rude and unhelpful staff who seemed very disorganized spoke little English and seemed did not know what they re doing
We have been to many many other airports and this wins the prize for being the worst.
Hope never have to be here again in my life
