Huge and a great mix of people and vendors. This one was really heavy on anime and power rangers for some reason.
Huge and a great mix of people and vendors. This one was really heavy on anime and power rangers for some reason.
It's really small but I'm hoping next year will be better. Lots of great vendors. But would really love to see more cosplayers! This could be huge if we could get more word out.
Florida supercon was awesome wish I had come in a cosplay tho.
We had a blast at Paradise City Comic Con! The atmosphere was great, nice people and fun events. Artist Alley was very impressive. (The food at the convention center is awful though).
Always a fun supercon, prefer it in Ft Lauderdale, because of the ease of parking.
A lot of vendors, photo area, great stars, lots of other costumes like Spiderman, wonder woman, and other artists I'm unfamiliar with, also I saw a co-worker or two?
It was my first time and i loved it, next year i may go again and wear a cosplay costume or make one up of my own.
The best Florida SuperCon cuz is back in Miami Beach Convention Center. Thank you. So many great stars. Had a great time. Thank you.
My boss went and told me it was awesome! We have more in common now lol we love comics super heroes etc
Since the move back to Miami it has been great and much needed space compared top the Greater Ft. Lauderdale Convention Center from last year. The staff is prepared and everything was easy to navigate.
Been there done that type of event. Went there with my kids for the experience. They enjoyed it, but then again what kid doesn't enjoy a place with toys? Too crowded.
Absolutely wonderful! Everyone is so nice! It's like having a thousand new friends that treat you like they've known you forever! As a volunteer it was an amazing experience getting to learn the ins and outs! Definitely going back next year!
Love it! Great for kids and adults. This will be my 4th year attending. Lots to buy and see. Everyone is so welcoming.
My friend and I did an anime dance for one of their competitions. We won the drama award where Supercon was going to give us $50 cash and $50 for spending at their store. Told us our award would be mailed to us. That mail never came. I contacted the owner of the con "Mike" through email and phone multiple times and each time he told me he'd "look into it". He never did look into it. It would be a 5 star fun convention if it's owner lived up to his word. We probably would have used those $50 to pay for our next ticket!
Florida Supercon is the largest comic convention in South Florida. It's held once a year over four days in July. This year it is running from July 12 through the 15th. It used to be held in Miami but it has recently moved to the Broward County Convention Center. The event consists of vendors, fans, and celebrities mixing together over four days for a fest of pop culture. You can attend over 600 hours of programs. My daughter usually helps out at a vendor booth so she was able to take me for a tour after I got off work Thursday night. Since it was the first night it was pretty empty. If you really want to people watch Saturday is the best day to go but it will also be the day with the most challenging parking. The amount of people who will attend will far exceed what the parking garage can hold. The garage was almost full on a day when there weren't even many people. Even though not much was going on I still had fun exploring the booths. Some of my favorites include the lady who inserts cats into art masterpieces, the lanterns with scenes in them from popular movies, and Darwin and Wallace who will sell you their specimens. No matter what your fandom is you can find it here. From the preview I got last night there will be plenty going on to keep the fans happy.
Keeping the Florida Supercon here would be best. Great space.
I had the best time. I went the first two days and didn't expect there to be much to do. Thankfully I was wrong. If anything I didn't have enough time to do it all. So many great panels and guests. The cosplayers were amazing and the vendors had something for everyone.
It was my first time going to supercon (even though I've been there before for other stuff like team national and other stuff) it was really fun, i got to meet some nice people and meet Kellen Goff, there was lots of anime, I loved it!
Great location by beach. Multiple areas set up inside for fans of different genres to connect. Panels are fun. Food is the same price point as any other convention however, this one has a much larger selection. Every year I find some new, incredible painting for the home. On a small side note, there is a massive phone charging area, which is handy at a convention. (Parking can be hectic, so planning ahead for that is smart.)
The convention was a lot of fun and I always look forward to the events that they organize. They bring in a lot of cool people and the staff members are extremely helpful.
Fun event with lots of venders, cosplayers, and so much more.
it is a fun experience going there and meeting a lot of people who like video games as much or more than me
Bad super bad. No parking. They make you walk to end of building for no reason. They plan costume competition for kids to only give everybody same certificate. Everybody wins. Spent one year making costume for my son for nothing. Year before the had prices.
Since reed pop took over, it was completely un organized. They have grew extremely biased where before it was an all welcoming environment now they carefully select their guests and panelists and you can imagine who (hint). It was severely boring and basic and not much flavor or events that actually made sense. It has become a total rip off and i will never ever be attending this convention again.
I liked supermen its kinda disorganized but the staff is pretty nice we also came a little late so there was no one in line and we got 50% of the tickets :p but I think there location is a little off because I think fort Lauderdale wouldn't be the best place to host a convention 2017 was a ok... experience but I hope they move it back to Miami
They raised the photo-OP prices and there weren't really tableside options, plus even autographs were way higher than in previous years. The vendors were okay. The panels on the 2nd floor were so far away from one another, we were walking what felt like forever to find a room! Still fun but could've been better. Decided not to get multiday pass and not sure that we'll return next year even though we've been attending annually since it was a much smaller con at the airport convention center.
Love Supercon. I have so much fun with all the shops, events, and people watching.
However 2017's Supercon was very disorganized. Your people had no idea what they were doing. What is the point of buying VIP passes when you ask one of the staff where the fast lane line/VIP is because there are so many people everywhere and they tell you that you have to go after everyone else in the normal line?!? Ahh no. The only reason I was able to get the signature I did was I personally had to walk up to their assistant and show her my pass. Cramming two very well known people and their lines into one are. VERY BAD IDEA.
It was crazy hot in the building.
Parking was next to none on Saturday. Thursday and Friday was a lot less hectic.
It was so crazy I am even debating about skipping 2018's Saturday Supercon.
I am giving it the benefit of the doubt for this year and hoping the "crazy" was due to it moving to a new location.
We'll take you on an adventure through your favorite fandoms! Florida Supercon brings special celebrity and creative guests for fans of comics, superheroes, science fiction, anime, cartoons, video games, wrestling and more.
Get ready for the most fun you'll have all year. Bring your friends or come with your family. Anyone at any age can find something to do
Super fun! This was my first supercon and I had a blast! Loads of events to go to and plenty of things to buy from your favorite anime, video games, and comic books. I only wish they would take a look more closely at some venders. I saw one booth that were selling counterfeit figures for the same price as the authentic figures. It s sad that something like that are at these sorts of things but hopefully they won t be next year!
Incredible event, the best wave in all the stands, very nice things to see, the best the Delorean and the costumes
Had a blast seeing Summer Glau and Ron Perlman. Saw a bunch of panels, spent too much on the exhibitor floor. Finished each night off with the cosplay contest and Ultimate Werewolf! Always a fun time!
Super fun! Seeing everyone enjoying themselves also puts you in an awesome mood
The only entrance to the con was in the rear of the building. So you walk a realllly long way to get in. Once you are in, you the walk to get tickets and a reallllly long walk to get to the dealer room.
They did not even offer a 2nd entrance closer to the dealer floor for people wishing to re-enter. They totally went for the easiest way to keep order without apparent consideration about convenience for their customers. I heard parking sucked, but I don't know because I stayed at a hotel.
Awesome Comic con! Loved the cosplayers and booths. Video game collection is fun. Couldn't find side activities or info on them.
Always fun, but they are getting lazy with the events. It's more about shopping now than getting to do cool stuff
Horrible registration process. You have 1000+ people who already have tickets standing outside in 93 degree heat and you are only letting them in through a single door?
If, sci fi, cosplay and celebs are your thing, then Supercon is for you.
Excellent time was had, lots of fun people, could do it in one day, but, wouldn't want to, take two to for.
Loved it! This was my first time at the super con and it was an experience that I will never forget
Neat vendors, cool celebrities, cosplay and general nerdiness.
Best trip ever tickets very expensive thought besides that great
Supercon was a blast. We stayed off-site and when we went we always had something to do. From walking and shopping to playing DnD. The overall experience was great except the walking distances. The way they used the entire new convention center in Miami Beach was a little bit of a stretch for how popular the con is. Since we were off site the parking was a gamble everytime. Luckily I was a local, but still, there needs to be contingency plans that don't include settling for valet.
Supercon was much better when it was in Ft. Lauderdale. The building is much bigger in Miami, however it doesn't feel like there is more than in Ft. Lauderdale. In Miami, it just takes much longer to get from one place to another since there is so much empty space between rooms.
Surprisingly, the video game room was the worst! It was an incredibly small room and when they were having the Smash tournament, half the systems were reserved, so if you weren't in the tournament, you weren't going to be playing anything in there.
Really poor use of so much space.
Fun event, but really poorly organized. Parking was a nightmare - took nearly 2 hours. Getting into the convention was equally as challenging.
Loved it!!!! Great venue with so many vendors - if you can't find it, you don't need it. Did not post pictures of cosplayers due to permissions.
Brilliant. I go every year and it is great every time!!!! The venders are great, the atmosphere is amazing and then celebrities and comic guests are wonderful to meet just a great film place for geeking out
THIS YEAR WAS PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT! Only few flaws is the same Host who didn't know what he was doing for every event, and the events happening all at the same time. My partner and I had some problems going to the biggest supercon cosplay contest on Saturday and we were not allowed inside cause of over capacity. Other than that I'm glad they did there best this year with parking, checking our bags for weapons, more securities, helpful crowds. So friendly and too excited. Please have another one here in this exact location. It's so cool inside when it's extra hot
Was a lot of fun but i liked the fort lauderdale venue better wasnt so massive. Plus the miami one is super hard to get to
Yesterday, we tried to get in to the FSC at like 5pm but the management was terrible and the security bust everyone out even on the second floor. And when we got their, the tickets were sold out and I was very disappointed and heck I was so excited to go to the FSC since February. For my experience, it was terrible and I was very disappointed and I will steer clear for the FSC because it is very disorganized and horrible.
Always awesome! Maybe more signs? Was a little hard to find events on other floors
Super organized, safe environment and fans of all ages enjoy equally! I hope next year to take my teenage son back!
Great Experience! Wish the Main Hall was open longer!! Past 8pm!
Easy to get in and out of especially now that it is Fort Lauderdale. Parking is super easy. Super organized. Fun each and every year.
I like it a lot and this time they put a lot of security that is very good
Fantastic show! Can't wait to see what's in store for next year.
a super fun time. it can get a bit expensive but its kinda worth it . you dont see this kinda stuff every day
Returning to Miami after two years brought a lot of high hopes, but with a new company taking over things didn't seem to go as smoothly as expected. Shuttles for hotels were a jumbled mess and many of my friends, including myself, had to play musical chairs to find a hotel that did have shuttle. Supercon's own website contradicted their own shuttle service leaving many confused to how they were going to get to the con. It was frustrating to say the least. Another gripe was the disorganization of panels. We had panels that never started and events entirely canceled by the con itself with no warning or notice, some were the whole reason some of us came. The lack of 18+ panels compared to last year leaves a bitter taste in our mouth and left Saturday feeling a lot less spectacular then last year. The sudden canceling of the burlesque show was the lowest blow as it was something my group looked forward to, male and female alike.
The only plus I can give was the amount of legal merchandise was larger this year leading to many more proper or 'real' items being sold which brings better credibility to the con itself. I cannot say if Super has cracked down on bootleg items or it was a lucky year, but none the less it was nice to see an even number of real and bootleg products instead of being overrun with bootlegs.
I went back in 2014 and 2015, its one of the best cons I have ever gone to. Now I have not gone to it since it moved locations ( i will be going this year) and I hope it does not dampen the fun, but as of right now, I give it a 5 star
This con was super fun! There was stuff for everyone to do. Lots of panels; there was gaming; and there was plenty of awesome merchandise! And all the people/cosplayers in attendance were friendly, and fun! The con was a bit unorganized on some things though. However, the reason I have to give a 3 star rating is because of the costume contest. straight up, it's rigged! I actually met someone in the line of the costume contest who knows one of the judges personally. She said that you aren't even judged for what you do on stage; they make up their minds at pre-judging. I also met several other people who have been attending this con for a while who also told me that the costume contest is rigged. This doesn't really bother me personally because I had a feeling it was rigged, but it was really a downer for my girlfriend. My girlfriend, and I did a couples routine. This was our first time doing anything like this. She put so much into both the costume, and the routine. She was super nervous, but guess what? We killed it! The routine went really well, and our crowd response was overwhelming. We were told that our routine looked so natural, and that we had great chemistry on stage. The couple who beat us out on the couples award did not get anywhere near our level of crowd response, and everyone was telling us after how they couldn't believe that we didn't win. I understand that it would take too long to accurately judge the amount of people who entered, but it's still a contest. A contest is supposed to be judged based on what happens on "the stage." Not picked ahead of time! Bottom line, we don't mind losing to a couple who were better; that's the spirit of competition. However We don't really appreciate losing to a couple who were rigged to win. We'll probably come back for the con next year, because we had a lot of fun, but we definitely won't be entering the costume contest again.
its usually a great experience, but due to the construction in miami beach and the relocation to ft lauderdale, i wont be attending next year.
#1 Prices go up every year
#2 The panels this year were far from each other
#3 Content was mediocre at best for most things
#4 Cosplayers have become more elitist douchebags
#5 Placing the con at Miami Beach is terrible. Parking cost me $60 because of some Mickey Mouse company
#6 Famous autographs cost $30 and up
#7 Supercon isn't worth seeing anymore. And no free autographs when you bring an item of your own
#8 The rave was a hole in the wall.........
#9 The panels always have conflicting times. You had to run from panel to panel
You guys you are amazing and you are way more on the Tourist side I like you yes to go to West Palm Beach or boca Raton next year
Florida supercon is always a fun event. However some of the volunteers leave a little bit to be desired. For instance when I was inquiring about disability information at the event, I was told that they didn't really know what was offered.
Still really don't know what was offered, and as a person with a disability I find that to be highly unacceptable. Supercon is always a really tough event to get through with the crowds and the narrow lines for autographs and other activities.
Perhaps there was something to help alleviate some of the struggles of maneuvering a wheelchair through standing only areas. However, you would never know based on the people working the disability booth.
I love Supercon! I have been attending for years. It's probably the biggest and best anime/sci-fi/comic con in South Florida. I just wish they would stop raising ticket prices every year.
This event is such a great time. It was first time that I had taken part in the cosplay and I plan to do it again with the family.
I Fricken Love It. I Enjoy Going There With My Friends And Getting Noticed In My Cosplay.
A wonderful experience, think comic-con on steroids.
