Florida Supercon is the largest comic convention in South Florida. It's held once a year over four days in July. This year it is running from July 12 through the 15th. It used to be held in Miami but it has recently moved to the Broward County Convention Center. The event consists of vendors, fans, and celebrities mixing together over four days for a fest of pop culture. You can attend over 600 hours of programs. My daughter usually helps out at a vendor booth so she was able to take me for a tour after I got off work Thursday night. Since it was the first night it was pretty empty. If you really want to people watch Saturday is the best day to go but it will also be the day with the most challenging parking. The amount of people who will attend will far exceed what the parking garage can hold. The garage was almost full on a day when there weren't even many people. Even though not much was going on I still had fun exploring the booths. Some of my favorites include the lady who inserts cats into art masterpieces, the lanterns with scenes in them from popular movies, and Darwin and Wallace who will sell you their specimens. No matter what your fandom is you can find it here. From the preview I got last night there will be plenty going on to keep the fans happy.
