Florida Peninsula Insurance Review

They do not return emails or calls unless you complain and then they stall you with excuses. Have been trying to get a claim resolved since June it is now September and they still cannot tell me when they will send me a check. They claim the carrier is to blame. Find someone else is you can to get insurance from.

Horrible company! My home received damage from hurricane Irma and almost 2 years later and the claim is still open.

I don t know who s giving this company 5 star reviews because even trying to file a claim was horrible, I will never purchase insurance from Edison or peninsula and I would never recommend them to anyone.

Why would you, sure you have insurance mandated by your loan, but god have mercy on you if you have to file a claim, not only has it not been resolved but they increased our premium and then dropped us as well.

Just a horrible company, I wish I would have known how terrible this company was before I purchased insurance, would have paid more for a better company.

Initially low rate, but increased each year until being dropped even though the property issues were corrected and now ended up with lender forced insurance because of lack of communication

We cannot say enough great things about Florida Peninsula insurance and your excellent customer service. Being a first time homebuyer, owning the property for nineteen years, I was nervous about the process of filing my first claim. When we first purchased our home back in 2000, we never thought about having to place a claim.
Florida Peninsula has been great throughout the entire process. After making the claim, the representative that took our call was warm, cordial, and very informative about what to expect. The next morning, Mr. Fredrick Perry (the adjuster assigned to our claim) called us to setup a time for the home visit. Mr. Perry arrived on time, and was very friendly. Mr. Perry was very thorough and checked the entire home (even the attic) for leaks. This made me feel safe and secure about the quality of the inspection. Mr. Perry took the time to explain the process and guided me through the remaining steps.
Mr. Bert Kedroe (Florida Peninsula Supervising Adjuster) sent me email correspondence throughout the entire process. In addition, when Mr. Kedroe was not able to correspond with me, he had Ms. Anderson assist me on his behalf. The entire process was fast, accurate, and very detailed. We had our claim inspection completed on Monday and by Tuesday afternoon (of the same week); we had a verbal approval from Florida Peninsula.
On Wednesday, we had written documentation from Florida Peninsula indicating the itemized estimate and statement of loss.
We could not be more pleased about the whole experience and highly recommend Florida Peninsula Home Insurance to everyone. Thank you for your great work and continue excellent service.

They are viscious. They denied a one month reinstatement for my cousin who has Alzheimers!

I would advise anyone planning on using this company to rethink their decision. They're dishonest and a RIPoff. After years of paying for coverage and never filing a claim a burst water pipe claim was denied. Needless to say we are getting a new company one that's reliable, honest and transparent

Don t use this company! Our house had minor damage from Michael. We have scheduled repair work, but the businesses have much back work. We sent records showing deposit on repairs, but company is threatening to cancel policy if not completed by 30 days. They aren t even paying for these repairs! We had this company for ten years and this was our first use of the policy. Horrible company!

Don't use them! Never had a claim, but was dropped twice, even though we got the 4 point they asked for. Haven't received a reimbursement for the second time we were dropped. Go any where but here. I actually talked to someone once (usually a recording with no answering machine available to take a message), but she couldn't help me!

Probably the best in the state at collecting premiums and never paying on a claim.

Awful experience, made me go through so much to get canceled with false claims , I have permit on a new roof by code!!! And my electrical box is new and was inspected already, the worse company ever, sending me a letter saying I have two weeks just out of nowhere, was insured 3-4 months no problem!!

The worst insurance company ever . I had to call the insurance commission on them to get a refund check back from them . After waiting over a year for a check . Insurance commission got on them and they cut a check real quick.

House was vandalized, 30k worth of damage, because I wasn't living in the home at the time. ( on my honeymoon). Claim denied. Totally screwed us had to sell the house at a loss because we couldnt afford to fix the damage. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL BE SORRY IF YOU DO.

They are cancelling my policy to reduce their exposure. Going to cost me almost $2000 to get another policy in place. Received the letter at the beginning of hurricane season. You will think you have insurance, and all of a sudden, you don t. They need to change their name and remove the word Florida from it since they are dropping Florida customers. Avoid this company.

I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews, but I had a good experience with Florida Peninsula. They were attentive, thorough and polite during my entire claims process. Connie Avila and Sean Clarke were particularly helpful and were transparent about what was covered and what was not. My claim was resolved and closed quickly so that I could move forward with my repairs with peace of mind. Thank you both!

If I could give it a zero I would but had to select the lowest rating possible. They give you coverage then within the 90 days decide you need a higher replacement value which is what Zillow estimates for a sales price to try to justify why they increase your premium. The cost to rebuild should not be the amount you would sell the property since land is included in the sales price and should not be included in the rebuild value.

I read the lady with the alligator situation I cannot believe u guys wont fix her house it was an alligator who owns an 11 ft alligator as a pet definitely giving u a zero star I want my star back but the buttons dont allow

I have found Florida Peninsula & Edison Insurance to really care for their insured's.
Not only are they more than willing to provide the payouts allowed in your policy, but I've personally witnessed upper management go above and beyond to instruct their employees, vendors and contractors to be generous in dealing with policy holders during Hurricane Irma & now Michael.

Florida Peninsula/Edison are two ethical and fair insurance companies.
Where I've seen disappointment and misunderstanding is what customers thought they bought from their Agents, or Sales Person who didn't take the time to properly explain the coverage and give the customer a choice to purchase enough coverage for fences, sheds and carports/screened pools.
Do yourself a favor before the next Hurricane snaps every tree in a hundred miles and take a couple hours to review your insurance with your Agent and ask all the questions needed.

They took me out from Citizens with a low ball figure then increased every year. This year saw a 20% increase! No claims in 30 years of homeownership and I did all wind mitigation possible on my house. They don't want your business it seems. I will go with someone else at the same cost at this point.

I had a really bad experience with this people, I recently bought a house and star doing some remodeling like Tile, baseboard and paint, the previous owner had carpets, I obviously had to remove te toilet to finish my bathroom, I had the baseboard and the paint ready after the tile is done, one of the agent came and star taking pictures of my house I told him, I m remodeling is that gonna affect anything? I asked him he said naaa.
we ll next thing was they called me saying that my insurance was canceled because there was a leak in my bathroom! The toilet wasn t even there, the main water line was off, I have a new AC unite, new water heater, new roof, etc, anyway if you decide to go with them they will Throw you Under the bus anytime they want just get ready.

Denied a claim after I had multiple companies check my roof. Every roofing company said that I suffered hail damage to the point that my roof should be replaced. Went to mediation and their rep had the nerve to offer me $800 to settle. I opted to go to court and they are delaying the process at every point that they can. I had reps talk to me very rudely on the phone. Just a horrible experience in every way.

I had my policy dropped do to not providing prior insurance. The funny part is we sent them prior Insurance three times and confirmed they received it but they still decided to drop the policy. I would think twice before doing business with this company.

In my third month now waiting for my claim to be resolved and no kitchen, had to remove water-damaged cabinets. Condo above had cracked main drain pipe and leaked into my kitchen, destroying kitchen cabinets, ceiling/soffits, extensive mold, et cet. This company is manipulative, uses bullying, stalling tactics to weasle out of their obligations. I feel like I'm dealing with mafiosa thugs from a third-world country. Even my insurance rep suggested I hire a lawyer. Their so-called water sleuth "detective" said condensation line, so expert he missed the cracked main drain pipe. This company will seriously push you to the limit. Peninsula insurance is no insurance. Avoid at all costs. You would be better off saving your premium every month and pay for your own repairs.

I am one of thousands of policy holders that this company has screwed over from Hurricane Irma almost 3 years ago. I have been in a law suit with them for 2.5 years, we have 130,000.00 worth of damage to my home including mold damage. In the last 2 years I've had to come out of pocket $40,000.00 to do mold remediation myself to protect my families health. My two young sons suffered from respiratory issues as a result of the mold. Edison has offered me $6000.00 for the $130,000.00 worth of repairs. All they're trying to do is drag out the litigation as long as they can. Meanwhile I'm paying 28% interest on credit cards I've maxed out paying for a portion of the repairs just to get the mold out of my house. Do not use this company if you're shopping for insurance.

Had a kitchen fire and after months i was told my check would be send to me, almost 6 weeks and the adjuster Miss Lisa Owens said my check was sent to the wrong person. After almost 3 weeks i still cannot receive my check that she said would be expedited. I have young kids and have no stove and this company do not have my families best intrested. No return calls, no answering the phone. This company does not care about families like they said. I definately will be looking for a diffrent insurance company.

$900 increase this yr. been there customer for yrs. Also called service center & was told "No" extention on payments! Wrong. Got letter in mail week later 90 day extention
