What a nice shelter! The animals are well kept. Most are happy...all things considered. The staff is phenomenal. There's quite an array of pets to choose from too. They're wonderful and suprisingly affordable.

It was unfortunate that I had car trouble right before my appointment to have my dog to be seen. I explained that, and said they have to reschedule plus another 19.99! They keep your first 19.99 No matter what! They don t have the heart to give me a break or work with me. I already had a bad day with my car now just maybe 10 mins late they can t work with me plus without any empathy said they are keeping my money. For sure going elsewhere and never recommending again to anyone as I have for years! I felt cheated and felt your services failed my dog needs for help, only seem to care for collecting hard working money from the people who pursue what s best for their pet.

So nice!! Everyone was so giving of anything she needed and helpful. I found a stray and they were so thankful that I could hold on to her for a bit while we find her owner or a new home if no one comes forward.

Need to put my 13 year old baby down due to congestive heart failure!. They seem to be more concerned of which urn I am purchasing, by the way that starts at 90.00 then offering comfort. I want to put my dog in my own urn not forced to buy their urn. Taking my baby somewhere else. Shame on you Flagler humane society .

The staff at Flagler Humane Society was very helpful, patient and friendly during our adoption process. Even though we came in close to closing, we never felt rushed as we visited with and eventually chose a kitten to adopt.

FHS staff and volunteers truly care about the animals during their stay. The shelter strives to not only provide the best care to the animals but also the people of our community. Shelter work is not easy or high paying yet the staff works very hard to greet everyone with a smile and respect. Stop in adopt, donate or volunteer.

They were suppose to do dental cleaning, remove a tag off near eye and put in ear a otipak in ear. When I picked her up the vet had done r upper molar, r man #3 , max 1,2,3, l lower molar packed. They did not remove tag or put oitpak in ear. They said they had cleaned her teeth. Which I am not sure that did the cleaning. When I got there they could not find her paperwork, then found it. It was very disorganized.

Rescued a dog from FHS with being told the dog was healthy and up to date on everything, not even a week since I've had the dog an next thing you know he's positive for tapeworms. And FHS failed to tell me they didn't do a intestinal parasite test on the dogs stool which should of been done before rescuing a pet and bringing it home around kids and people. And had to pay for everything out of pocket with no help from FHS for their problem while sending home a rescued animal without a parasite test and sending home a dog with tapeworms. And highly upset how they can get away with it when people are rescuing their animals and giving them a home and not making sure 100% that the animal is "healthy". Not pleased with FHS. And would recommend that every animal in FHS should be tested before sending a infected animal home around people and kids.

The 2 female staff members were the rudest people we have ever encountered. My Sister fostered a dog that she found on the side of the road. They did nothing they said they would. No medicated shampoo was given, although promised, they did not bath the dog prior to her fostering it as promised, they didnt trim his nails as promised. She brought him in today for a neuter apt, no one called to confirm the neuter. When she arrived she paid for pain medication for him and had to argue with the staff that he was scheduled for a neuter. Upon picking him up in the afternoon, she found that he had no been neutered, they refused to give her the pain medication or the money back and told her that's what you get for fostering a dog. This place is a joke. I do not suggest the use of the Flagler Humane Society.

Still can t believe these guys. Like the previous review said it depends who is on duty. I strongly believe our race had something to do with it We will never return to this place. We wouldn t advocate any support of a racist organization who hides behind animals rights. They clearly pick and choose who they want to help. In the year 2015 in Florida you guys should be a shame. All who do support them are complicit or don t know of their unfair judgements towards certain people of color

They do great job. But they need to be straight forward about cost. They say its 60 to neuter a cat but 19 up front fee then 40 fee when u get there then another 40 for shots then its 60 to neuter.

While I don't have a problem with the Humane Society themselves, I do have a problem with the veterinarian that sterilized my cat. A mistake was made, and she did not check to see whether my cat was male or female, cutting him open to remove a uterus that my cat did not have. To make matters worse, she didn't have the decency to notify me of the mistake, nor did anyone tell me when I called in the early afternoon to see how my cat was. I did not find out until I came to pick up my cat. I called the veterinarians office on Monday morning, explained what happened and asked to speak with her. No return call was ever made to me. This vet was unprofessional, uncaring, and negligent. A simple phone call apologizing for the mistake would have been nice. I wonder if I had brought my cat to her practice instead of the Humane Society - would she have taken her job more seriously. Its a shame she has a practice in Flagler County - she doesn't deserve one!

My Yorkie of 15 yrs was cremated today with a private ceremony. Staff was excellent and very sympathetic. Treated Buddyboy with love and respect. Gave us time after he passed to say goodbye . We pick up his ashes in a few days. We picked the blue jar urn with his name on it.
Thank you to the caring staff.

I have adopted here several times. Most came home with minor health and behavior issues that were easily remedied with love and a little care. But it is a good place to get yearly shots and heartworm. We get our dog's town licenses from there and they are very good with our dogs.

Stopped in today. People standing around, no staff to assist or provide guidance. After a few minutes, I walked out.

Overall, the place puts you in a bad mood and you feel sorry for the poor animals there.

I'm only rating it 5 stars because I hope more people will go to this dreadful place and adopt. Why dreadful? The poor dogs are in these small concrete spaces, with no outdoor runs or access to the sun, or even people walking by. So depressing. Why can't they make it more like Halifax HS in Daytona where at least the dogs can watch people passing by and have an outdoor area in which to sit in the sun. Also, unlike Halifax HS, the one in Flagler doesn't let you take them out for a walk so you can see how you bond with them (or even let them get exercise for pete's sake! ) It's a horrible place for dogs, please adopt one from there!

They were great with my big mutt to check for heart worms. I wasn't sure if he'd bite, so we gently put a mesh muzzle on, "to keep us both honest" she said. The blood was drawn and THANK GOD, no heart worms!!

I Still waiting for results of the test. Went on 9/5/2018 appointment @2:00 PM . At that time we were fostering a Boxer (now adopted). I called again for results on 9/10 and clerk at first could not find the records. The appointment had been maid by the B.A.R.C.'s representative, who said they would take care of any charges. I was charged $35.00 for the visit and test and left my phone number for them to call me. The clerk was apparently upset with my trying to get the results and told me that the Dr. would have to call the person that made the appointment. I agree with the comment about the clerk's being rude. All this was fully explained to the assistant when I brought the dog in. In the meantime this dog may have a serious bladder condition. They don't care.

Adopted a dog and a kitten. Both are real keepers. The dog is the funniest thing when you play with him and the kitten is such an affectionate little girl. The staff could not have been more helpful during the adoption process.

Our miniature dashound had hurt her back.I am on disability with no extra money. We called around and the other vets told us they could not help .
They thought she broke her back. We brought her to flagler humane society so she could be put down and not suffer. The amazing staff and kattie said they would work with us and let's see what happens . A week later daisy is now home walking almost normal . After a little more time she should be 100%. These people really care about these animals.they have true compassion and love .Thank you for saving my dogs life.

The Flagler Humane Society staff does a good job with the resources they have. They could always use more donations and support from the community. The shelter is a community driven organization, so its effectiveness depends participation. You can't expect it to function like a polished fast-service million-dollar pet franchise. I feel that people who feel bad for the animals need to do more than just complain. They need to volunteer, donate, or othrewise contribute in a positive way to the welfare of the animals. You can't blame the shelter staff for not having the budget or enough volunteers to rescue them all. Everyone who cares about animals wants more heroes in the field to rescue needy animals and more volunteers to provide extended care for them. I have volunteered there some and saw that with just a small handful of staff they are able to provide effective care for over 500 needy animals, but it is especially challenging when staff is short handed.

We recently adopted the newest member of our family from the Flagler Humane Society, and we couldn't be more pleased with the experience! The staff was knowledgeable and helpful, and they even followed up the following couple of days to make sure everything was going well. We loved it!

For the most part I liked the place, pretty cool variety of animals, our helper dude seemed like he knew what he was talking about but the reason why I'm not putting 5/5 is cause I just think the cages could've been a little more kept up with. Multiple dogs had urine puddles within their cages and I know that has to make them feel pretty uncomfortable.
