I opened an account during the transition period to TBK. I was told some stuff that wasn't true which would have changed my decision to bank here. Website says one thing but person in charge of it says another and that he doesn't have time to look into it because there are plenty of other people with real issues. Online banking login just stopped working so I have to call in to possibly get that back. I just haven't gotten around to closing my account but that's what everyone should do.

I was disappointed when TBK bought First National Bank of Durango, I had wanted to keep my money in the community here but not much I could do about that and I was exceptionally happy with the process and my loan consultant so it is what it is. But I m ready for another loan now, and feel like I was completely blown off. I want to build a small cabin on my property and they require you to go through a home builder, etc and so on...which in Durango means a minimum of like $300k for 1000 sq ft home, not including permits and all that come with this type of project. I have already proven my payment record with TBK, have excellent credit, and haven t missed any bill of any kind in over a decade. None of that was even considered though. I was just told that if I didn t want to go through their specific process of having someone else do work I m completely capable of doing, then it was a no go. Definitely didn t feel like the person I spoke with was looking at me as a customer, as an individual. I guess I get to go and find a new bank to partner with now, and can go back to a local place.
Worst banking experience ever. Standing in line only to have 3 people jumping into a teller in front of the line. Went to drive thru... They couldn't help. Haven't been able to use my card in 3 days... the call centers wont answer... Garbage. Switching banks.
I banked at FNBD for 35 years, and loved it. TBK took over and initially it was chaos. And then they cut the hours so badly, that the working people that make this town float, are severely inconvenienced. My bank card will not run at the new SPEEDWAY pumps... Other TBK people w same trouble. I could literally get stranded after business hours. I haven't heard a positive comment in Durango, by anyone, and that includes the TBK employees that used to work for FNBD. I miss FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF DURANGO. Hoping things change for the better in helping the customers..
Took 3 days, numerous trips and waiting on line to solve a very simple issue. Finally had to call corporate headquarters to find someone who could actually help. What has happened? I loved FNB, but this is unacceptable. And seriously, no local phone numbers anymore? I will be switching banks.
If I could give zero stars I would. Literally the worst bank you could imagine. My card shuts off all the time making every day use difficult. Getting someone to answer the phone is near impossible. If you leave a message they don t call back. Today my card shuts off again, I call, she says my bank account is over drawn. That s IMPOSSIBLE! Literally there s no way unless someone cleared me out and bought a damned house. Avoid this bank at all costs.
When they were First National they where great. But they have made so meany mistakes with this acquisition how can you trust them with your money! I will be moving my business to a new bank
Do not use this bank for business purposes - they do not know what they are doing nor do they care for their customers. I have never had issues when they were First National. I make daily deposits & in the last two weeks at different branches, I have had two seperate deposits where the checks were not on my deposit slip. When you call to get straightened out, you have to spend much time on the phone to get to a live person. You explain the situation, they put you on hold and then transfer you to another person where you have to start all over. VERY frustrating. The 2nd time it happened, I called and spoke to the manager - Lacy - of the branch tellers, as I'm explaining my situation, they lost power and the phone cut out. She calls me back and just leaves a message saying to call her back. WHAT??? I wanted her to straighten out and get me the corrected deposit slip. I wasn't calling back - she should have called me back. After a couple of days, I tried to call her to get my corrected deposit slip. She wasn't available, and I asked her for her boss. I got a guy named Mark who basically laughed at my frustration in having this happen and having to deal with their awful phone system. He then had his assistant Heather call me back to get the information to straighten this out. Again, a LOT of time on the phone to get something that should have been done correctly to begin with. Heather was very apologetic and said she would mail out immediately. Almost two weeks later, I still didn't have. I had to call HER to receive the corrected deposit slip. She should have followed up to see if I had received if they cared about their customers or someone being so frustrated with THEIR errors. As soon as I am able I will close this account and bank elsewhere. TBK has wrecked First National and it's very evident by their mistakes and lack of caring about correcting them. How do tellers handle deposits and not make the full deposit? What a joke!!!! Bank elsewhere - you'll be glad you did.
Absolutely fed up with this bank. I had called them about changing my bank account type and my address several months ago. They changed my bank account type but didn't tell me that it was also going to change my statement preferences from electronic to paper. So, I got charged for paper statements which I didn't even receive because my address hadn't been changed like I had assumed (as I had called previously to change my address as mentioned before - since you can't change it online by yourself). Just ridiculous. I'm done. I'm closing this account and moving to a bank that won't sneak around and keep charging me fees for services I didn't receive or didn't ask for.
I have been trying to access my account for three days. I am travelling and need some information, which does not require personal assistance. Is this the continuing FNB Service, TBK promised?
Terrible banking. I understand there are glitches when switching institutions- but dealing with this bank and their coldness has been awful. I tried to stay but am pulling out both accounts today and going to another bank. A COLORADO bank! This decision to do so is bringing me great peace.
Horrible experience with TBK. The transition from first national almost left me stranded internationally because they deactivated my FNB debit card. Took over three weeks to receive the correct card (sent me someone else s card). THEN, after mailing it to the country I was in, and asking them if the card was cleared for that country, it took another week to get the travel clearance. I would strongly recommend avoiding this bank.
I never knew a bank could give a cheap appearance until this TBK bought First National Bank of Durango. They no longer let you take deposit slips at the drive-thru, you have to ask for them to be sent to you. Also they dont have money counters so each teller has to count by hand and it takes forever. I am switching to Wells Fargo..
Employees all seem to be the same and helpful since the change but calling the corperate "helpline" is worthless. I have an issue with my money I need resolved I shouldn't have to wait a week to talk to someone. Ever since TBK took over all of these branches have gone downhill and customer service has suffered. If I could rate below 1 star I would, stay away from this branch of crooks
This bank is a joke! I'm closing my accounts tomorrow!!!!!!!!! I agree with the other comments if I could give negative Stars I would fill the screen! with them
These new hours of operation are ridiculous! How do they provide service if no one can get there before or after work?! I'm switching banks because now they are pointless.
It can take up to 48 hours to deposit a check even if it is from the same bank. All the branches close early except for Walmart they're only open till 7.
First National Bank of Durango is a business with HEART! They care about the locals, they do a ton to support the community that they live in and they put their $$ where there mouth is- Thank you First National for having such HEART!
No customer service, no notification of account balances or most importantly overdraft fees. Seems like TBK is following the Wells Fargo business model. Closing my account.
Trying to call these people is a joke they have one number for all branches with all different closing times. So on Saturday even though their is a branch open you cannot contact them it s a joke.
What a joke. My statement claims "Totally Free" right above the $5 service charge for inactivity on my account. It never had any charges when it was FNB. Bank of Colorado now will have all of my business.
Worst bank I've ever dealt with in my entire life, everyone that works there was born yesterday. You never get a straight answer, it's never same answer either! You can't get a direct number to a branch here, you get directed to Texas. None of them know their own protocol and whenever you have an issue with something they talk over you and tell you that you're wrong. Every. Single. Time. You're better off using Wells Fargo or Bank of Durango. Literally any other bank is better than this one!
I wish 0 was an option to rate TBK. AWFUL customer service. Everyone is very rude, cold, and unhelpful. I never had any issues when it was First National Bank, and now I ve had nothing but issues with TBK. I will be closing my account as soon as possible. I definitely do not recommend this bank.
How is changing your hours to close all branches by 5:00 (6:00 on a Friday) better for the community? What about people who work, especially in the summer when many people work long hours and need to cash their paychecks after work? So incredibly frustrating!
I preferred FNB-Durango to TBK Bank. Worst bank experience, ever! They charge for a replacement card and when I noticed a charge that I didn't make, I had to pay to dispute it? So ridiculous. I wouldn't give this bank any rating.
Can't get anyone on the phone in a timely manner anymore. Wish they never bought FNB Durango. Probably going to look at an actual community bank in the four corners area.
Biggest joke ever. Feel bad for the employees. Only reason I continue to bank here is bc I have a bunch of auto payments set up. I honestly can't count the number of times they have let me down.
