We had fast and friendly service but the food was average. The burger was just a burger and it wasn't anything special. We did have a great waitress and although the food was good enough, it wasn't great. Nothing to write home about.

Beer is not good. Food was a little better, but not great. Beer: I tried the black IPA, Rye IPA, and the special bitter. I was surprised at how lacking of hops and bitterness both of the IPAs were. I could taste no rye character in the rye, and all three were just so light and simple. The bitter was the most true to style, but not amazing. I was very surprised at all three of their high ratings on Beer Advocate. Food: My wife had ribs and I had tuna tacos. My tacos were very bland, and her ribs were pretty tough and dry, tasted more like pork chops. About the only thing really good were the fries. Experience: Our server was very nice, but we were seated outside, and when I asked about their tap selections, I was told to go inside to look at the TV screen. I'm sure this is the restaurant's policy, but this is unacceptable. I heard others seated nearby being told the same thing. Have your servers memorize what you offer, that's their job! Or at least have a list for the outdoor tables, or a screen visible to them. As someone who appreciates good food and beer, I can't recommend this place and won't be going back. It was fun to try someplace new, but I was disappointed.

After a long day on the road and checking in to our hotel we stopped by for a dinner and drink. One of the most nicely decorated patios I've been on. The theme Firehouse truly fits and they did it well. Don't miss the murals outside. The food is great, and fries, which seem to be a lost art these days, were phenomenal. Get the meal took longer than I would have liked, but not really out of line, but with a long day on the road, I was really hungry. Service was very friendly

I really enjoyed my visit to the Firehouse the atmosphere and decor were very cool especially considering my wife is a Firefighter. I had the ribs and brisket combo witch was very good. I would come back anytime I m in Rapid City.

Great beers, and you get a good representation of 9 beers on a flight that costs just $12.25. Service great, ask for Lexus, she's friendly and engaging and knows her business, she's a great representative of the establishment. I had the "and then some..." burger, good size, well prepared, delicious. Spouse had the "fire marshall" chicken sandwich, was tasty but the chicken portion was pretty small, bordering on stingy. Took up only about three quarters of the bun. The one sour spot in an otherwise great experience.

Seriously loved this place... was a bit skeptical because if some if the poor reviews but so glad we came. The IPA was excellent and the snacks generous... great staff and great vibe!

Not the best restaurant if you like good food & great microbrews. It's a fun place - the atmosphere is great - and if some fun pictures in a cool old building are what you're after, then this IS your place. If you love great food, however, move along.

Beer was fairly decent, service was great. Food was par at best. The brisket was pretty terrible, it tasted very old and as if it had been sitting in warm water before being served. My wife enjoyed her burger though. Very cool atmosphere.

Very friendly and efficient wait staff. Our drink order was taken right away, shortly followed by our food order. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Unfortunately, both the beer my husband ordered, Firehouse Irish Red, and beer I ordered, Wilderness, had run out. Our food was delivered promptly, but was average. My husband ate the NY Strip while I chose the Banger Ladder. More spices, please!

Atmosphere is fun but definitely not something I would come back to. The artichoke dip was the only thing my family of four thought was good. All of us left wishing we had gone somewhere else.

Food was pretty good. The parking meters were very frustrating for an out of towner but that's not the restaurants fault - just download the app, trust me it's easier. As a volunteer firefighter I really enjoyed the decorations and atmosphere of the building!

The beer was good but the food was mediocre. I got the fish and chips and it was clearly packaged small fillets. My wife got the ribs which had good flavor but where a bit dry. The green beans where excellent

I've wanted to come for some time now. My eldest brother and an uncle were both Fire Chiefs and the company's saving the building, the history, wonderful pieces of equipment... I could go on and on about what piqued my interest, but let me tell you about what blew my mind. The staff is talented, pleasant. They seem to enjoy where they work and that makes Firehouse Brewing's atmosphere great. Great for dates, family outings, friends night out. And I haven't even said a word yet about the food or the beverages! Huge portions of truly delicious food. The range of food, sides, desserts has something for everyone. The beverage boards are just as diverse. If beer is not your thing (though I do suggest you try some craft) they have mixed drinks. They have soda (Coke) products, water. Give yourself a treat, at least once. I'll wager you'll want seconds.

1. They forgot us after we put our name down. We waited half an hour before approaching the host and she pointed at a table, said you can sit there then literally tossed a menu across the railing at our table. 2. It s a brewery and they don t actually have beer menus anywhere. Printing some paper copies literally costs 10 bucks tops. He told us we could go across the bar and look at a tv? 3. Beers came out about 15 minutes later. Ok. Put in an order for apps. 4. Kid took 20 minutes to come back to take our food order, no app yet. ... we are tourists and might just be going to sonic down the road for dinner instead after this app gets here. Assuming it ever does. Get it together.

Very busy place but lacking in quality. Staff being very rude to each other. Salad had a nasty taste like it need to be rinsed off or was with something bad. Our seventeen years old daughter with an adult menu ordering an adult meal ordered chocolate milk and was brought a kiddie cup with cover of it. My son ordered a Ribeye steak done medium half was done to order the other half was pretty much raw. Had a strawberry margarita mind you I have worked in the restaurant business and bartended for over 25 years it come out barely pink asked if that even was my drink. It was so I stirred and stirred them tried it tasted like a tequila slushie not really what I wanted the waitress did take it back for more mix but really should she have had to should be standard measurements for making it. Prices were not that bad and the garlic mashers were good very nice theme but in need of someone to step up and fix what's broken now before it gets worse. Would not go back at this time for tourist go see the building have some of there beer and wine but would find somewhere else to eat.

Outside appearance will get 5 stars! Looked fun and exciting! Get inside and what a dump. Also had Horrible food! Tasted like it was all microwaved . Will not come back. Feel like they spend more money on the advertisement on side of roads then the food here.

This place was great!! Had the "spontaneous heating gumbo" and it was sooooo good!! So spicy but so good! Tyra was our waitress and she was great, attentive, funny and made the visit great! We came from Wisconsin and would definitely come here again when we visit again!!

LOUD! Original Firehouse acts like an echo chamber. If that is ok with you, the food is great. "Backdraft" and onion rings we perfect. Fish and chips left nothing wanting. Semper Fi red ale went wonderfully with the meal. Service was lacking in that I would have had another beer had someone came by our table. Food 5* Service 2*.

As long as you stay away from their version of mexican food, you're good. Service has been excellent from most all the male servers, some of the female ones have had attitudes for some reason which is really weird and rare. We frequent here and know what we enjoy, the kids Mac and Cheese is to die for along with the big cookie and ice cream.

Would ve given five stars for the amazing food, but long lines and lack of their signature root beer kept the final star from being an option. This place gets busy and doesn t offer reservations. We called ahead and they said they weren t busy but when we arrived we were cued for a 45 minute wait for a table. That being said the food was everything it was promised to be. The wait staff did a pretty good job of attending to us even with the restaurant being busy. Would definitely like to go back and try the root beer. There was a cute little park nearby that we spent some time at during our wait. Cute area.

I was super disappointed in the food (sub par), service (very busy, and didn't really check back), and the beer selection. There was only one IPA on tap, which was a black IPA. the other beers were very ordinary. We probably should have saved the $75 for our dinner and flight.

Food was great and so was the service. We sat at a high table by the restrooms and I saw several kitchen staff workers walking out of the men's restroom while pulling up their zipper. Pretty sure they didn't wash their hands before returning to their work station. I was pretty disgusted by it.

Waited for an hour and half to get a table. Finally got in, ordered beer and waited another 30 minutes for beer only for it to come out warm. Waited another 45 minutes for food where the coleslaw was warm and the mashed potatoes were cold. Wouldn t recommended to anyone.

My wife and I are in town to visit Mt. Rushmore and Crazyhorse. The reviews on here don't do this place justice. The micro brews are outstanding, try the Firehouse Red! I ordered the Big Kahuna New York Strip ($24), cooked just right and tasted great! My wife ordered the Ribeye ($23) same thing cooked excellent and tasted great. We tried the bread pudding, really good! Will be visiting this place again very soon! As far as the prices being high, not really, go to one of the other steak places and get a comparable size steak, it will come out way more than what they are charging.

Firehouse Brewing Co. is a great bar! The staff is super friendly. The bar looks great and has a big choice of liquors. Their own beer is really good and it is brewed onsite. I did not have food because I just stopped for a couple of beers but the menu looked they have good bar food options. It looked like that everyone sitting at the bar enjoyed their food. Will definitely stop here again!

Very disappointed in the food and beer. Nothing is fresh about the food. The hamburger was previoslusly frozen and all moisture cooked out. When asked about ingredients due to food allergies the waitress and chef had no idea so we actually had to get them to bring the box out for us to read. The fish n chips in question come in a frozen pre-battered box. We sampled beer but couldn't find one worthwhile of purchasing. Would not return.

This restaurant has a unique atmosphere. The decor is really neat and the mural they have of firefighters is super cool. The food was great! The burgers are super yummy, especially the buffalo burgers. The gumbo is DELICIOUS. The restaurant was pretty packed when we went in, but the staff handled the crowd perfectly. No complaints! Highly recommend you stop in and try it.

If you are in search of a good craft beer and a good meal, then this is not the place for you. The beer, as well as the food, are lacking of any flavor or creativity. Very disappointing considering the other local breweries.

This review is based on their reservations. We never got to eat here. You have to show up for them to tell you its an hour plus wait. Tried calling ahead no luck. No where really to wait except on street. Disappointing. Looks like bar food, sorry we never got to try it. Could not wait one or more hours. We arrived at 400pm on a Saturday.

Overall, pretty good. I did not care for the artichoke dip, and she took it off the bill without me asking her to. Excellent rancher's pie, though, and the portions are very generous. I would definitely go back if I visit here again.

This a really neat place! I had been wanting to stop in and eat there for many years as I don't live in Rapid City. I finally got my chance and I was glad I did! The resturant was really neat inside. My waitress was VERY friendly. My only compliant is the price was awfully high for the food I received. I mean it was good, don't get me wrong...just not "OMG THIS IS THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD" good. Honestly I wouldn't make it a priority to go back simply because everything on the menu was $15+.
