The overnight stay was great. Location was nice for a north Jersey/New York suburb stay. A little remote which made obtaining any sort of taxi / uber / Lyft somewhat difficult. The hotel itself and rooms were very nice and clean. Major complaint was the fountain in the lobby which had been turned off for what seemed like a long time leading to stagnant water and trash buildup.

While this was probably a great place, now it's undergoing some renovation. The rooms are probably ok for 1 night but small without any storage chest or drawers, so stay for 2-3 nights or longer will feel uncomfortable as you have to live out of bags. Bathroom doors not have exhaust so it will fog after a shower. Bathroom door opens in wrong direction and will be a nuisance each time you use bathroom. I saw loose carpet at few places - but I guess renovation will fix that. Despite these physical issues, I thought the service is very good.

I have never been treated more poorly at Marriott property before. I attempted to check-in close to midnight after a long day of travel. When I get to the desk they tell me they're overbooked and need to go down the street. I had taken an Uber there so when asked if they had a shuttle, they told me I needed to arrange my own transportation. While waiting 30 minutes for a ride, they proceeded to check in a guest who arrived after me because he had sufficient status.
Further aggravating this, I sent feedback to the hotel manager and the corporate office and received no feedback. Marriott does not appear to value their customers feedback anymore.

I was just picking up my girlfriend who works at the hotel tbh. So I can't really give too great of a review. But I'm doing this for google opinion rewards. So it looked really nice while I picked her up. And the bathrooms were clean. But that's all I can say.

A wonderful hotel, with beautiful scenery, friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms. My only complaint is that room service closes at 11pm and no one answers phone. But other than that a terrific place.

Very nice place. Big and beautiful, but in the middle of nowhere. Rooms were clean and in good condition . A little eerie heading into the parking lot and the grounds as if entering a campus of abandoned sites. Once you get into the hotel it's absolutely beautiful. I love the elevator with the outside View. I think that's the only elevator. I found out there was indoor parking behind the building but only after parking in the front lot.

What a pathetic excuse for a hotel. I was incorrectly charged for services I did not receive. After talking to the manager he agreed and he would remove the charge but he never did. Both times I stayed there I had reservations a month in advance and both times when I arrived they had no record of the reservation. After the response from the owner, I still do not understand how you can confirm your reservation within 8 hours of your arrival and try to check in to your hotel with your photo ID and they have no reservation for me. Fortunately I had my confirmation number that was in another guests name that got me a room. I am sure that same guest had a nice meal that was accidentally charged to my card.

The hotel has had a wonderful upgrade since I was there my last visit. The carpets are clean and the rooms are in perfect condition. Sometimes when you go to a hotel, you don't want to walk barefoot, but everything was so clean, that I was unconcerned. The only thing that I needed, that wasn't readily available, was a microwave. They have a few on the premises, but because people in other rooms requested them, there was none for general use. We couldn't just go use one in the lobby or any area. Other than that, everything was great!

Beautiful hotel, VERY pleasant staff, VERY helpful, my son & I came for the infamous Dead Man's Curve car show, what an AMAZING day, lots of classic cars, dragsters, GREAT DAY, food trucks were good, Benito's was especially great, I got a cheese steak sandwich & a pork with provolone & Giardinare to bring home for my husband, he really liked it

The service was sub par this time. First we booked a king room, they gave us a queen, had to switch rooms. It was handled quickly and was fine. Went to find the hot tub was not filled enough and wasn't hot. Told the front desk, by morning it was still not resolved. Then a fire alarm was set off. No help from the staff at all, the elevators were shut off and I could not find a stairwell to attempt to make it back to my wife who was on the 22nd floor at the time. Finally after about 10 mins we were told it was false alarm and there was nothing to worried about. My wife doesn't ever stay there again. We have been going there for a few years now and lately the service seems to be getting worse and worse.

Stayed here while visiting the New Jersey area for a wedding and it is definitely one of the fanciest hotels that I've been to.
What really makes it stand out is the glass elevator that goes up the entirety of the middle portion of the building.
(Wish I would've taken a picture of it!) Used the fitness area which has a pool, and then a smaller, separate area with a couple treadmills, ellipticals, and weight racks. They also have a great seating area and bar by the check-in lobby.

Enjoyed my stay!

During Check in I was asked to provide extra ID in front of other guess, and after checking in I was followed and told I didn't belong. This was one of the most humiliating moments of my life.

The hotel is very comfortable, however always make sure to double and triple check reservations and request a confirmation and maybe even have it notarized.

I requested another day at the front desk and points for my stay to maintain my gold elite status. Front desk assured me everything was taken care off. The next day I am kicked out due to front desk not adding the requested extra day. I am offered a room with a 50% price increase, despite it being the same exact room and am lied to, seeing as how I was getting a "deal" at that price when clearly that was not a deal nor even a discount for that days normal rate. Does platinum or gold status even matter to spg anymore?....

I called to ask for a comb and they said they were bringing it up but never showed up. The following day I requested towels and nothing... I called again after a few hours to remind them and they finally brought me towels

Quick mobile check in. Beautiful rooms and high floor view. The only downside of being on a high floor is the sound of the birds landing on the edges of the building but that s out of anyone s control.
Nicely decorated public areas.
Having a hot tub was a plus!

This hotel should be 5 star, but everything is broken. Poorly maintained. I had them exchange an iron 3 times and still not working. The microwave had to be changed out. Laundry room out of order. And many other maintenance issues. It's been very inconvenient and I just expect more from a Sheraton hotel.

Stayed here on business, which my business booked and sent them the credit card for payment.
Upon check in, the stated they didn't have the credit card authorization form.
no problem, I kept a copy, and handed it to the receptionist.
she made a photocopy, and stated "I will add ti\his info to your account".
she then asked for my credit card for "incidentials". I told her to use the corporate card. "I can't she replied."
Fine. She stated I would be billed $30/day and cancelled when I check out.
I get into the old, tired elevators to my room on the 16th floor.
The room was nice, corner room, clean.
Housekeeping came in the next day and cleaned my room, but instead of changing the drinking glass in the bathroom, it tasted like they wiped it down with the same towel used to clean the toilet.
Needless to say, I threw up after that.

Upon check out, I again stated to charge the corporate card on file. "No problem" they said.
They ended up charging my personal card, used for incidentials, for the full amount.
I had to get reimbursed by my company.
Not a bad place, just needs better communication, and update the SOP's.

It wasn't like a normal hotel. The breakfast was bad. The dinner was amazing. The remote wasn't working. The room smelt bad. There was no refrigerator. The thermostat was making the temperature hot and cold every few seconds. But the pool
was awesome. I am never going there again.

My experience with the Sheraton began with the roa...

My experience with the Sheraton began with the roads on hotel property. They are in poor condition, with potholes and cracks throughout. This was disappointing and not what you'd expect from a luxury hotel, a premonition perhaps for how a guests' stay at the Sheraton in Mahwah will most likely turn out. The walk from the parking lot the main lobby is not marked with any signs or convenient walkways. The lobby, although somewhat impressive, is not well-maintained nor is it cleaned well. The receptionist that checked my wife and I in at the desk was professional, but not friendly or welcoming. In fact, he didn't smile or welcome us to the hotel. After checking in we took the elevator to our room which was located on the 20th floor. The glass elevator showed the entire landscape around the hotel, which was very impressive. The glass window adjacent to the hotel wasn't clean, though, and it detracted from the view. The room condition was fair. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. There was also complimentary Starbucks coffee, a nice perk. However, the leather on the headboard and one of the room chairs was very worn, greatly detracting from the room aesthetics. When I called up the front desk in the morning and asked where the Club Lounge was located (I paid extra for access) the manager almost immediately said that I didn't have access to it. I'm pretty sure he didn't even look up my booking. I explained that I paid extra for it and that when I checked in the receptionist confirmed this. The manager continued to refute this, even talking over me while I tried explaining that I had paid for access. Finally, most likely when he actually looked up my booking, he acknowledged that I had paid for access and told me where the Club Lounge was located. However, he made no apology for his adament deniles of my available services. He behavior was unprofessional and certainly not befitting a manager. When I went to the Club Lounge I discovered that my key card did not grant me access, a mistake most likely by the not-so-friendly receptionist - not friendly and not competent. I was able to get access to the Club Lounge once another guest exited. Unfortunately, the breakfast was meager; certainly not what you'd expect for a paid breakfast. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen a complimentary breakfast as limited as the Club Lounge. What was available was not well stocked either. The juice container was nearly empty, the fruit salad was almost completely gone, and coffee was not made in advance for the guests. No employees offered any assistance to me either. Overall, I was a bit disappointed with the aesthetics, customer service, and paid services available at the Sheraton. The experience I had with one of the managers make me think that the hotel has managerial issues from the top down. In summary, the Sheraton at Mahwah does not live up to the perceived grandeur of the building, let alone the Sheraton brand name.
