Worst organised gig at Finsbury Park ever. Absolute joke. Never again. Refunds need to be given.
Bad organisation, layout and terrible sound at Finsbury Park. Profits prioritised over people's safety and ability to enjoy (& hear!) the gig.
An apology and refunds should be issued ASAP.
Terrible time at Download festival 2015. Very disorganised, much worse than any other year.
Disabled facities were a complete joke.
Toilets/hygine cut back severly.
Preperation for the rain was so bad compared to last years. Hay was laid once rather thsn every night.
Security was very very relaxed. No proper checks on bags/wristbands. In the age of terrorism this is a disgrace.
The festival has suffered since FR got involved. I hope its sorted in 2017. If so ill amend my review....
Saw Queens of the Stoneage at Finsbury Park.over zealous security guards. Weird restrictions on bringing in water which on a hot day is dangerous. Strange bag size restrictions. Obviously don t like people who carry things. Over an hour and a half queue for the bar. No wine when I got there. Long queues for the toilets. Long queues snaking the arenas. Hundreds of foodstalls selling weird stuff, where surprise, surprise no queue. No burgers only vegan. Slush puppies. Chicken Katsu curry. Pizza in a cone. Don t get me wrong I like chicken katsu curry. But I missed iggy pop because of the queue for the bar. Still waiting for my bag to be posted home. The security team couldn t agree what size bag I needed. Needed to purchase a new bag twice. And then even though I was carrying a bag for a five year old I got stopped because it was too big. Missed skinny girl diet because of ten hassle of getting in.
The absolute worst gig I ve ever been to was Queens of the Stoneage at Finsbury Park. It was the worst organised event I have ever witnessed. I treated myself to a VIP package which cost close to 100 pounds. What I got for my money was the joy of standing around with hundreds of other people in a patch of dead grass with a handful of chairs, and the benefit of only having to queue for an hour an a half to get a beer. Which admittedly was a lot less than the three hours other people experienced. Outside of the well-documented drinks queue debarcle, just getting in was painful in itself. Was strictly told I had to go to one of two box office windows. After lining up in one for a good 15 mins, the woman in charge of that window told me I needed to go to the other one. So lining up behind the other one, I had to wait another half hour. The reason being I was behind a group of four, and they needed to get tickets printed out. Obviously it pushed them to their limits to have to print out four tickets. I ended up giving up after a half hour and tried another empty window, which apparently was all good, all along. When I finally got in, I encountered similar problems when asking staff the location of amenities on the grounds and the VIP area. Flat out getting straight answers from anyone. Clearly the left hand doesn t know what the right is doing with these guys. That s not to mention barely being able to hear the bands, even somewhat close up to the stage. People were shushing each other so we could hear the music. However, I have kept the special souvenir ticket I got with my VIP pass, so I can always remember the worst gig of my life. It s left me with bad memories of (half) seeing bands I otherwise love, which is a shame. Not sure I ll bother with another Queens gig, and certainly won t be going to another Festival Republic run event again. I will however continue tell every single gig-going person I know how horrible the experience was so hopefully they all too think better of wasting their money on another oversold, underorganised event.
Shocking organisation and subsequent customer service following the shambles QOTSA gig last Saturday. Avoid anything organised by FR at all costs.
Attended the Queens of The Stone Age 'Festival' at this park yesterday.
The organisors of this event are responsible for shockingly poor treatment of customers. They are clearly happy to take the charge for an event from 45,000 paying guests, but provided inadequate and poor basic services.
The few bars that were set up around the venue were very poorly staffed. The female members of staff repetitvely prioritised male customers over female. Many allowed customers to remove drinks from the bar and therefore were undercharging - and on 2 occassions having paid full price for my drinks as I was using cash - customers either side of me negotiated a lower payment for huge rounds of drinks if they used cash instead of a card. Shocking.
One of the most disturbing service failures was the inadequate provision of toilets between the 2 stages and near to bar 1. No planning had been put in place and the very small entrance and exit became dangerously crowded. At one point I was trapped inside a heaving crowd that was like a scene from a disaster movie. So very dangerous - and no exxageration - life threatening. I dread to think what would have happened to people who were hurt or have problems with crowds or claustrophobia. To add this disturbing scene - there were no staff around this area at all .....
In summary - if you want to be ripped off, spend your time waiting in lines for more than 3 hours, put your life at risk just to use a toilet and generally be in an under staffed and ill equipped venue - then Festival Republic events are for you. If you want to have a pleasant experience do not go to any event by this organisation.
Out of the 7 hours I spent at the QOTSA gig on 30.06.2018 at Finsbury park, I queued for a total of 5 hours and 45 minutes. Instead of seeing the bands a paid for I got to instead queue for; water, beer, toilets, cash machines, exiting. Missed everyone apart from an hour of the main act, who I couldn't hear as volume was so low. Learnt an important lesson- always check which company runs your event and if it's Festival Republic don't go. If you like your friends and family tell them to do the same.
Absolute shambles of a gig at finsbury park friday. This firm should refund all customers. Never will i ever attend another of their promotions.
