The room key had to be reset the electrics went out in our room and the food not that good
First night was good! minus the over crowded pool area, $18 caeser and no where to park within a country mile of our room. Second night even better! Power in the whole town went out around midnight which happens and no one at the resort is to blame, but during the blackout a water supply line (or something) started wreaking havoc under our room floor for a total of 4hours, when the blackout only lasted about 40mins. No room transfer available, no room credit at checkout or anything. We've been coming here for over a decade and it is slowly becoming an aged, over crowded and grossly over priced hostel, with good employees. Would boycott this place more than the NDP if possible. Should be Zero stars but zeros are not allowed in our society anymore.
Had a wonderful stay! The property is vast, beautiful, and in a great location. The room is very nice with easy access to the lake. We stayed in a more standard King. It also has a nice little patio. The bathroom however is quite small. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They do offer a shuttle to the town of Jasper ( The property is Justin outside the town, less than a 10 minutes drive). I was disappointed that they only offer the shuttle twice a day though... It would be nice if they had more that ran more frequently so you don't have to take a taxi. I was also surprised they charge for the shuttle ride. They have many onsite amenities including a couple of restaurants, a spa, a golf course, and more. I was disappointed with the poutine at the restaurant, it was quite salty, and I felt overpriced. Jessie was a great server though so sweet and helpful. I would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again and hopefully get to utilize more of the amenities.
Beautiful hotel to stay at. We loved it. The grounds are beautiful. Elk wandering around. Lots to do, and relax. Food was great, service was outstanding. I had zero complaints about this place.
The service at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is amazing. There is a number you can text to get service at any time and it was very useful for getting me amenities needed to make my stay more comfortable (like a humidifier). The staff is all very warm and friendly to their guests and made the stay just that much more special! There were a few issues, however. For one, parking can be a little cramped and if you're not in the main lodge you'll have to walk a bit after finding a parking spot (which is depending on when you leave/arrive). During social events in the banquet halls, the plates were dirty on the bottom leaving food residue on your hands when holding them and on the tops of other plates. :( Regadless of that, if I was planning on staying in Japser again, I would choose to stay at the Fairmont!
Beautiful scenery, great staff and we can heard calling on the lake in front of the lodge.
My wife and I were staying at the Fairmont for the weekend overall the resort was excellent, on we decided on our last night we would eat at the resort. I had very high hopes, and the food was merely okay, but the service was terrible. Our server was very inattentive and it seemed like he did not care whether we were there on not. I can deal with slow service, as I know restaurants can get very busy and it is often hard to keep up, this was not the case. I am not one to post negative reviews unless I feel they are warranted, the service that we got will be memorable for my wife and I for a long time and for the wrong reasons. If you are choosing between eating here and potentially heading to town for dinner, I would suggest going to town where both the service and food were excellent. The next time we are staying at the Fairmont, we will 100% be skipping the Nook Chophouse.
They even have their own lake (Beauvert) within the hotel and it's no less prettier than other lakes. Annette and Edith lake are like walking distance too from this hotel. There are a lot of good things about this hotel. Emerald restaurant and patio is superb with great food and views. I loved their folding mountain seasonal beer. I recommend spending 3 to 4 days minimum at this property
Service was friendly and attentive. Bartender was amazing.
Good hotel, but not a "fairmont" experience. Good pool and lounge, renovated rooms are still lackluster.
Lovely restaurant and reasonably priced for a Fairmont. The staff was delightful as well.
Although I didn't stay at the actual lodge this time (we used the trails and stopped in for a drink), I have stayed here in the winter. In the summer the grounds are incredibly gorgeous. The lodge is opened up and bright, with friendly staff. As I recall, the rooms are beginning to be a bit dated, but I didn't see them this time so it's not fair for me to really say. Those that have only tried Jasper for skiing really should see what it has to offer in the summer.
Really cute lodge in a stunning setting whether it is winter or summer. Really scenic golf course and walking/running trails and tough bicycles to hire.
The staff are friendly, warm and professional and the food is top notch but a little over priced.
Very relaxing views over water and windiurous mountains covered with snow.
TERRIBLE. I am NOT packing my bags to go to sway la whatever early.
We dined on the patio and are food wasn't very good. There was four of us and all of our food lacked taste. Disappointing when you are spending so much. I still rate it 5 stars as the JPL is amazing. I've stayed there many times, staff are always friendly and helpful. The property is gorgeous. It's nice they have a lake on the property where you can rent canoes, paddle boats, etc. In the winter you can go ice skating.
The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge has absolutely gorgeous views of the Canadian Rockies. It sits on a small lake where you can rent canoes and paddle boards. I stayed in one of the cabins and the rooms are very big and comfortable. The staff is also very attentive and friendly. My only complaint is the price of food and drinks at the restaurants in the main lodge. However, this is to be expected in a place so isolated from the outside world.
Take allergies really seriously. Makes conferences much less stressful.
Chef and catering staff are great to deal with, and the local IPA is pretty solid.
Came for my sister's wedding I am so disappointed I did not book a room here the service and staff were amazing compared to the hotels in town. We will be visiting again in the new year and will be staying here. I recommend this hotel over any other in Jasper.
Ok so don't get me wrong. I loved my stay at the Fairmont. It was delightful but my one gripe with it is the food options. At $26 dollars for an eggs Benedict with hashbrowns it is laughably mediocre. I get that it's a tourist spot and prices will reflect that but there wasn't really anything remotely different or sensational about any of the food I had here. Aside that the staffing was very professional and probably the best part of staying here.
Beautiful surroundings, delicious food and great cocktails.
Its a beautiful place it is worth going to Jasper!! Fairmont is a beautiful place to stay at!! I will go back
I had a great stay here. It was amazing in the winter, but I couldn't imagine how wonderful it would be in the summer. The restaurants on site were excellent, and the staff was incredibly friendly. There were tons of activities for all sorts of people, and the spa and hot tub were a great end to a cold winter day. It also has Canada's number one golf resort. I had a great time here, and I would definitely go back. It's also very close to Jasper.
We stayed on 28 and 29 September and paid in advance through our travel agent
We booked out and all was well
Then on 28 November my AMEX is debited $1636.07 for our stay
Having trouble finding why
Being an Acor member makes it more frustrating
It s an average hotel in a great location but be careful when you get the account on departure
Very clean, but way too pricy for what you're getting. $800/night for a cottage style room with two double size beds and no view, and breakfast is not included. On top of that there's a $25/night resort fee, which you only find out at checkout.
This might be a one off, perhaps it was just my experience.
Food was decent but way over priced.
For 600cad per night I expected something a little more luxurious.
Parking at our room was non-existant, we had to valet the truck, only they didn't tell us until we we called them.
We were told we could check into the room early, how ever we only got a 45 min early check in (we were there for a wedding and they knew the wedding was right at check in time)
The food at the reception was great. Most of the staff were pretty great.
They were just very disorganized
I wouldn't stay here again.
I honestly can't say enough good things about this lodge. We did not stay onsite at the hotel but visited a few days from town to go to the planetarium, use the skating rink and swim at the spa. All of the staff that we encountered were extremely helpful and friendly, they always went above and beyond to help. I was in a wheelchair for my time there and we were offered shuttle rides to and from the frozen lake when we had only asked for directions on how to get there. When asking concierge about calling a cab back to town in the evening he let us know exactly what it would cost and offered to make change. We ate at the Emerald Lounge a couple times and it was delicious. They offer a large variety of activities to do over winter such as s'mores on the dock at night. We will definitely try to budget to stay here if we visit Jasper again. One of the highlights of the trip!
Over rated place. Much in need of renovation. Very noisy night. It was the start of spring break but the security staff didn't have much luck quieting the parties happening in multiple units.
The staff were friendly and attentive but that didn't make up for the lack of sleep.
Disappointing experience from one of the Fairmont Premier Rockies Resorts.
wonderful place to rest, incredible view of the mountains, delicious food, all the staff very friendly. Thanks
Great food, excellent staff and service, and the location is top notch.
My boyfriend took me to Jasper for the weekend. We went skating at the Lodge.
Upscale hotel and resort. Excellent dining, heated outdoor pool, mountain views, walking distance to hiking/biking trails.
Emerald Lodge is a great spot for dinner or drinks. Really enjoyed live music by Neil Harnett.
Food, service and nature on display...second to none!
The service was excellent and the room was great. Our room was clean and well stocked. The facilities were also well kept and staff friendly. The food was also excellent and plentiful. We felt very taken care of.
I stayed at JPL for two nights for a corporate event. The people were so friendly and helpful! They went above and beyond to take care of us. The place is decorated beautifully and so festive. I would highly recommend staying here.
Stopped over at JPL on our way to Edmonton. Had the breakfast buffet at Risk, enjoyed it immensely. Food was great, the view was spectacular!
I stayed here a couple of weeks ago and it was by far the best hotel I ve stayed at in a long time. Excellent service and very friendly staff. The room was clean and comfortable. Beautiful view.
This place is like the center of my heart. My husband and I have been here twice, once to celebrate my golden birthday and the other time for our baby moon before welcoming our second child. Every time we ve been here, we re treated like gold. The rooms and grounds of the lodge are absolutely beautiful, and views of the lake and mountains are breathtaking. Even though it s not far from our home in Edmonton it feels like an escape from our regular hustle and bustle. It s a very special place for my husband and I, and forever will be. Can t wait to go back.
Great views and service. Great nightly entertainment in the lounge.
This was our first time staying here and we enjoyed it. Only downfall is the cost to eat at the hotel, it is completely ludacris We ended up eating the breakfast buffet at Jasper Inn Grill for $12.95 and had dinner at Something Else restaurant in town, food was amazing and incredibly priced. Definitely need microwaves in the standard rooms to reheat leftovers and makeup wipes were not in bathrooms which would have been convenient instead of making a mess of the white wash cloths. Either than that, scenery and staff were very friendly. Will we return, probably just to walk around but not to lodge or dine.
This is a great place to stay. For what you pay the rooms aren't exactly luxurious, but the service and beautiful grounds more than make up for it. The location is just outside the main townsite; close enough you can cab for a reasonable fair into town. The main lodge is a nice place to eat or have a few drinks and has a heated outdoor pool. Would definitely stay again.
This place needs a lot of help. The staff was basically worthless; every thing we asked for their help with was ignored and required additional followup. The rooms are dated (as others have pointed out) and WAY over priced. We had a mouse stay with us one night and nobody at the front desk seemed to care. The main lodge is kind of cool and the food, drinks and bar staff were all nice. Whatever you do, if you stay at this place, do NOT get the room service "smore package". It's $40 and consists of a dozen mallows, handful of graham crackers, and literally 3 pounds of *shaved* chocolate. How the heck do you make smores with shaved chocolate?! Plus, this property is a drive from downtown Jasper and not convenient. We loved Jasper but next time we'll be staying in the downtown area and avoiding the JPL at all costs.
The best place to stay, and the people that work there are very happy and kind
I took my girlfriend here to propose. It honestly could not have gone better. The staff was more than willing to help with any special requests I had in order to make the experience special. We received many congratulations from all the staff after the big question. The front desk workers are amazing! They were able to take the bottle of champagne I brought and set it up in our room after breakfast with orange juice so we could celebrate with some mimosas. This was the 2nd time I stayed at JPL and I will definitely be back. Thanks to the people who work here, the most memorable moment of my life went better than I could have ever expected. I can't thank them enough and would recommend this hotel to anyone!!! I plan on taking my family here when they visit. Thanks again to everyone at the JPL!!!
UPDATE
We spoke with the manager on duty the next day and were very well taken care of following this incident. When we went for dinner at the steakhouse we had an excellent waiter. There was an unfortunate situation with the fireplace that when they had lit it the spoke came pouring out into the restaurant, of course where were we sitting? right next to the fireplace. That being said they moved us over into the restaurant next to them quite quickly and the waiter we started with ran between his tables that stayed and our table in the other restaurant. This waiter and the manager Megan were an absolute pleasure that pulled our stay out of the bad rut it started to be and made it much more pleasurable. Both of these individuals provided impeccable customer service and as a result we will now return.
My wife came to this lodge before and raved about the bedding and the room. This time she took the whole family and we checked into the room and the bed and bedding wasnt the same, they were some kind of foam bedding it was rough and not comfortable at all. Then when we gave up on the bedding when the staff came with wrong size blanket and then with two blankets to choose from
We gave up and after we put the blanket on, We pull down the bedding to start getting ready for bed and found hairs in the sheets and hair stuck in the pillow case. We called and they came with new sheets and pillow cases remade a bed that was suppose to be already done. Its now 1am and my wife is crying and upset and she has to get up at 6am for a meeting at the lodge. Just expected more.
Holy flying elks , Batman, this place has great room, great service, great food!
Thinking about planning your wedding here? Think again. The views are amazing, the front line staff are courteous and professional, but the pre-planning process was a NIGHTMARE, especially for what you are paying.
We had three different wedding coordinators, with almost zero information shared between each transition. After driving up from Grande Prairie, we had a whole site visit go to waste because our Wedding Coordinator left the next week.
- Our menu selections weren't written down nor were the wine selections (Something the Groom's parents specifically went back to select)
- Our salon appointments weren't booked properly
- The whistler cabins we paid a small fortune for weren't beside each other after we had specifically booked for that purpose
- People had challenges booking their rooms (we called at least 3 different times to have it figured out)
- Overall communication with the wedding team was frustrating with constant "Out of Office" alerts
- Our cake quote was completely disregarded until we complained to management
- Our coffee bar wasn't set up properly so most of our guests didn't take home their favours
- The AV team was so ridiculous to work with that we hired an outside team (quoted hundreds of dollars to use a simple screen)
- We had to hire a wedding planner as per the contract which was a total waste of money simply adding more confusion to the process
- The catering team told us our vegetarians weren't going to get an entree (again we had to fix the situation)
- The Bride's Family Whistler Cabin and Bridal Suite weren't cleaned as scheduled (spending our wedding night in a disaster wasn't our expectation, and my parents had to do their best to clean the cabin themselves before the gift opening the next day)
- For a plated dinner, none of the food came out together
- We were promised a tent for our family BBQ by the first coordinator but told we had to supply our own by the third
- Almost every decision made and "booked" had to be re-made and re-booked, we had to repeat information over and over again
It was safe to say that the management team and staff involved in the pre-planning process showed absolutely no "problem solving" skills, and were prepared to nickel and dime every and any request. After purchasing the top package, and our past experience with The Fairmont, we expected an exceptional level of service. This was sorely missed, and the most basic requests were missed.
While the staff at the JPL were friendly to deal with in person, even the smallest request to have staff help unload our decorations was denied.
Had we known what we were going to be dealing with, we would have saved ourselves the headache and booked elsewhere.
The venue was absolutely stunning, and again, the front line staff were a pleasure to deal with, but the management and planning team made this one of the most stressful years of my life. For the money paid, and the Fairmont name, we expected a lot more.
Dined at Oka Sushi and it was a life changing experience. So fresh and Oka is ridiculously talented!
Excellent service, free valet services, nice rooms except for the clanging noises coming from the heaters, gives a kind of ghost feeling . Food was great too. The sites are breathtaking. There are wild animals everywhere but they don't seem to mind humans as long as your keep your distance. Nice place for a vacay
Love taking my family to Jasper Park Lodge. The staff are genuinely working to ensure you have a memorable stay.
-Incredible Location
-Incredible Service
-Incredible Food
Golf course is one of my favorites as well.
Worth the steep price of admission!
Great place to stay if you don't mind paying a bit more. They really take care of you here, however. Anything you need, they are there with a smile! The view from the pool/hot tub area is amazing... And the trail around the lake is a nice added touch.
Really nice, old historical lodge. Really well maintained, nice architecture, great food. Good place for a getaway.
Great stay ! The staff continued to work towards creating a great stay, the lounge was first rate and there are a lot of activities to kept a person amused. The weather was not the best during our stay - 27 C so we didn't venture from the jasper park lodge and enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the lodge.
Thanks to the staff and Jasper Park Lodge we will definitely be back.
The planetarium and star gazing was a hit.
Too dated for the price, however cleanliness is standard
I came with my 2 year old and found the hotel to be very family friendly. Kids eat free and the piano player in the lobby loved showing my son how to play. Room service was great, the food is great. It would be nice to see the abandoned cars in the parking lot hauled away. Some of them I recognize from my last visit a year ago.
Great people and service; everything is taken care of. The food and drinks were great and the rental shop was so convenient! I wish the spa/pool locker rooms were cleaner.
Very nice place, very friendly service, the rooms regularly attended, the restaurant menu limited
Beautiful lake view. Closer to nature. Has a Boathouse for canoeing
Truly a five star resort. Great services. Great staff. An AMAZING heated outdoor pool (went in the winter) and hot tub that looks out into the mountains. The steam room has eucalyptus infused in the steam too which was a nice touch. Get breakfast when you order with the room because the morning buffet is well worth it.
Beautiful setting for a wedding. Awesome food and A/V. Would definitely visit again! : )
Quaint beautiful accommodations. Looking forward to our next visit.
We stopped in to use the bathroom and shop while we were on a hike around the lake. It is always super clean in there and the store and art gallery are great to look through.
Excellent service from Ravroop, fabulous golf lessons from Troy and delicious food and fantastic mountains and lake!
We would like to mention for the good the waitress KIRAN from breakfast that served us with a smile and sincerely.
Some of the best service i've had, great food, great rooms. Loved the location. It was an awesome place.
It s rustic and new. The spa is amazing. The scenery is breath taking. Staying in Jasper is better than Banff if you like more seclusion. The staff at JPL treats you like King and queens. They take very good care of their property. They have an amazing sushi chef, but you really have to book months in advance to get a spot as it s a very small restaurant. Also if you don t feel like going out for dinner no worries order pizza in. They also always have great ideas like Christmas in November, jasper in January and they have a cool March break thing where a famous person from the 80 s-90 s shows up. This place is super romantic too. Check out a glacier walk weather permitting.
This jewel of the rockies has always been one of my favorites. It's rustic look matches the rugged nature surrounding it ,while delivering the luxury class accommodations guests come from all over the world to experience. You will always be pleasently surprised with the wildlife on property and the fine dining in the many restaurants while being served by highly professionally trained staff .
Beautiful setting, stellar service and quiet, comfortable rooms. Don't forget your swimsuit!
Just went skating on the lake, beautiful out there. Really well maintained, clean ice!
