No surround sound in theatre 8. When addressed with staff, the front sound was simply cranked up - leaving us to experience the powerful songs of The Lion King in poor quality, with the bass missing and the chorus much too high.

After addressing this issue twice with staff during the film, and being told the manager was not on the floor, I returned to my theater after letting the staff know that the entire theatre deserved a refund for the poor quality of sound and lackluster experience. This is common practice for other theater chains, like AMC.

Professional managers greet their guests at the door upon exiting when an issue occurs. This did not happen at Regal Fairfax Towne Center. I only received replacement tickets for my party after a frustrating discussion with the manager, who implied that my experience was not ruined because I sat through it.

Missing a solid 10 minutes to bring the issue to your attention, when you should be doing theatre checks regularly? A problem. Sitting through the artists work diminished by poor quality? A problem. When the soundtrack sounds better in my car than their theater? Big problem.

Make your voice heard if your experience is lackluster. It s the only way theaters will rise to the occasion.

(Note: I spent 4 years as a projectionist and know what to expect, I am not just someone who demands free stuff).

I always love coming to this theater! There's ground parking and garage parking all free. Ton of restaurants next to it. A clean, updated, reserved seating attraction that is consistent with quality every time. Barely anyone comes during the week so you'll be almost guaranteed a good seat. The weekends and special events are very popular here as well. Enjoy your time here and relax!

Prices are also average here for a reserved seating venue, so you can expect not to break the bank.

Great seats. Not crowded. Ridiculous amount of parking. Cheaper treats than other theaters. Because the seats are recliners, there are maybe only 30 in the whole room. Which means less people and noise!

decent theater, the big cushy reclining seats are nice, but there are too many seats that are too close to the screen. definitely need to choose a seat that's closer to the rear of the theater.

The movie was great. The chairs are great. My wife and I went for a movie and had a great time.

They lose a star because their concessions are actually highway robbery. I mean, a step above pretty much every other theater in price, without the added value. I was expecting the pop and popcorn we ordered to be priced exorbitantly. Yet Regal still managed to genuinely shock me.

Although I did not have the experience of eating or buying food at this theater, I have to say the experience is amazing! The seats are clean, can transform into recliners, and can make you feel very comfortable! This might be different from your local movie theater, as you must climb some stairs to reach the second floor. The staff are very friendly and will guide you to your designation.

First time I went to this location. Don't know why I hadn't been before but it was absolutely fantastic. Great seats just a cool layout with good snack offers. Going only here from now on.

Roomy recliner seats, clean, lots of concession choices.

I used to call this theater the shitty regal but now I love it. They installed these new automatic reclining seats and I love it! The seats are huge and super comfortable. Once you try out their new seats you will be coming back.

Expensive and not well maintained. For what they chg for movies I'd rather go to newer less expensive more uo dates theater. They should be charging budget rates like the theater by GMU.

Smaller and older cinema but maintained. Basic concessions with "by-the-pound" candy station.
Be prepared to walk up a flight of steep stairs. The box office is oddly located on the upper level.
Seating is nice and comfy. The adjustable recliners are cozy.

Pretty disappointed as of late. I've been going to Regal for a while now and considered it to be one of the best theaters I've been to. The theaters have lots of room with large, leather, reclining seats.
A bit ago I went with a family member to see Ford V Ferrari. Was a good experience, though the volume was just a bit too loud so occasionally during the louder driving sequences it'd become a tad bit uncomfortable.
Today though, I went with the same family member to see The Invisible Man. Oh lord, the volume during the previews was insane! It was genuinely was painful and uncomfortable, and we asked one of the staff members if it could be turned down. Just to be clear, the volume was EXTREMELY loud, not just "a little louder than ideal". We were told by the staff member that the previews and actual movie use separate volume levels, so he'd just turn the volume down for the actual movie, and not the previews.
Lovely. My mom and I proceed to wait outside of the theater until the previews are over. Note that it's in the middle of a weekday, so we're the only ones in the theater. After a while, I poke my head in and notice the movie's starting. We get seated once again and find that the volume is still way too loud. After a couple of minutes, we figured it wasn't going to change and left the theater. When talking to the same staff member, he seemed to admit that he hadn't really done anything to fix the issue and just hoped that the movie would be quiet enough compared to the previews for the problem to go away.
This whole scenario was a big shame. I'm sure these situations are one-off things and we just got unlucky, but it's going to be really hard to convince ourselves to return.

I like this place. Usually no problem getting a seat to a show, even when you show up just before the show.

I like the popcorn here. Tasty. The staff has always been extremely friendly and helpful. Concessions are part with most movie theater chains. Sometimes you gave to wait for them to cook the hot dogs as they are not always ready.

Great reclining seats. Very decent sound on all theaters. Restrooms need a,little upgrading. No paper towels to wipe your hands, only hand dryers.. not a fan of those, especially if you rinse your mouth out.. how do you dry you face?

All in all. A very good place for a movie.

One note, these theaters are on the second story of an outdoor mini mall. The elevators are only in the adjacent parking structure. Weird design there.

This is my favorite generic movie theater in the area, but it's a little rundown and usually dirty. I go here pretty often and usually will have to wipe my seat down because there's popcorn, dirt, etc. on it. I know people are messy and it's not the staff's fault for not being able to keep up all the time. But sometimes it's slow, and they probably can do a better job cleaning up overall. I have a love and hate relationship with the cinema being on the 3rd floor and having to go up the garage. However, this usually also means that there's plenty of parking. Also these recliners are much better than those in Cinemark at the Fairfax Corner.

Went there for the first time recently and really liked it. We live close by but had been driving to Tyson's and now we feel stupid for all those long drives in traffic on 66, when this nice little theatre is so close! The seats are really great, as everyone says, and even though all the screens are "small" (actually typical multiplex sized) it was a really nice experience overall. My wife loved the place and while I think it looks kinda dated, the screens are not huge, there could be more slant to the floor and the feeling is slightly claustrophobic (please just change your CFL lamps in the halls and restrooms to LEDs and this will improve dramatically - get a few packs of warm light LEDs at Costco. Please!) I am giving it 5 stars because of the short drive, comfy seats, good picture, smaller crowds and great prices. Great job, keep fixing it up!

Very comfortable seating. Otherwise, there were no people at the ticket counters and the tickets and the food was overly expensive. 2 popcorns and sodas shouldn't cost more than 2 tickets. If not for the seats I would have given it 2 stars.

Nestled in the back of the shopping center this theatre has done a lot of changing to make things up to date and modern. I love dropping in here for a movie and consider it a bit of a hidden local spot.

The seats at this theater are so comfortable. Unfortunately, this location doesn't have the best and latest movies like Cinemark. Also, managment needs to work on keeping this location clean. I had to wipe down my seat during my last visit, and there's always popcorn on the floor near the entrance when relatively few customers are in the hallways. An employee should be stationed at the entrance to clean the floors.

The seats are AWESOME!! Electric reclining leather seats with just the right amount of head support and back support with your feet up. This is the way movie viewing should have always been! No more short girl problems with someone's head in the way either . The seats lean back so you are looking up at an angle to view the movie. No more neck cramping in the front row. This is our go to theater from now on! Thank you Regal for taking care of your customers !

Good food and best reclining chairs. They should have better signs to let people know where the entrance is and if they would take the food to you instead of waiting for it, I would've given it one more star.

The theatre has more than just the usual empty blockbusters and has nice seats and screen. Found it impossible to get drinks and snacks. Not will in to wait in a half hour line just to carry and spill a beer and popcorn.

I come here for every movie I see. The reclining seats are fantastic! Some of the less popular movies get smaller screens, so don't expect a grand display if you're planning to watch something non-mainstream. Sometimes they even show old classics and that's always a treat for me!

I like the seats, but why so dirty? I went on a Tuesday and the floors were disgusting. My first time there, I think is better going to another place, there is a lot of places on the area.

Enjoyed the recliner seats. This seems to be the norm at most theaters now. The staff was friendly when buying tickets and food. It did take a very long time to make my food; however, the manager did bring it to me at my seat, so I didn't miss the movie.

The new reclining seats are really nice however now you have to reserve a seat and sometimes if you don't purchase tickets ahead of time you will have to sit in the front of the theater. The food and drinks are also pricy, however there are free refills if you buy a large popcorn.

Beside the fact that the entrance is a few stair flights up, the facility is well maintained. During the weekdays, it will be much empty. Parking lot is big and can accommodate a good amount of spaces. There are shops and eateries in the same shopping center for before or after show dining. Very good spot overall. Strongly recommend for family outing.

Great theater, even better are the new recliner seats...so cool, and comfortable! Food options, however, leave a bit to be desired. Very few healthy options for those with dietary restrictions.

The theatres, the reclining seats are all fine. I can't help but be disappointed that when I tried to buy popcorn and a bottle of water, the person at the counter replied 'we don't have any water... only coke'
Sure... The whole world is campaigning against sugar water and here's our neighborhood regal who don't sell water. I haven't carried drinks or food ever in my bag (following rules I guess) but that changes whenever our family watches movies here anymore.
