The food was great. The help was excellent. The company delivered too early, so check your details twice before your event. (Their fault)

Fabulous Catering has been just 'fabulous'! The entire experience was very good : right from working out the menu, to delivery, service and warp up. The food was sumptuous and our guests loved it.

I hired fabulous catering to cater for 175 guests at our wedding and they were amazing. Everyone said they had plenty to eat all night and there was even left overs. We hired bar staff also and they kept the drinks flowing all night and were also flexible enough to stay a further 2 hours when asked. I highly recommend this company and would definitely book them again. Thank you so much for such wonderful service!

I hired Fabulous Catering for a House warming party. My guests, many of whom are foodies, loved everything as did I - well perhaps if I had been able to eat some of it.. lol The Front Office staff were great and kept me fully updated on the status of the order which, I must say, was fairly short notice. Overall, it was a positive experience going thru the process and I would definitely use them again as will some of my friends who were, as I said, quite impressed with the quality and taste of the food.

Fantastic customer service!! I ordered a Father's Day Box for my dad, Adam from Fabulous Catering informed me I could get it delivered a day early which was also my dad's birthday because of this I was also able to order some individual meals. My dad was very happy and surprised to receive all the amazing food, craft beer & dinner meals! Thank you!

8th May 2017 Update:

I have further downgraded my review to 1 star. DO NOT USE FABULOUS CATERING EVEN IF MOST OF THEIR FOOD TASTED GOOD. (The 1 star is for the Chef who attended at our function.)

I have received an email back from Fabulous Catering essentially saying that my partner, friends, and I have ALL lied about missing food items. I'm reproducing their email response below:-

"Thank you for your ff up, and we apologize for the long wait. As this would need a lot of investigation from the sales order staff to the kitchen to the Chef in charge of your event.

And as a result of the investigation we had found out that all items listed on the sales order were provided and served on the day of your function, therefore there is no need for any refund to be processed."

Anyone who reads this whole review can decide for themselves. As for me, I won't be using Fabulous Catering again.

7th May 2017 Update:

I have downgraded the review by 1 star to 3 stars.

I'm adding this update because I did not mention a minor complaint I had with missing menu items. I had decided back then to directly lodge my complaint with Fabulous Catering to give them a chance to explain. However, 2 months later, I still haven't heard anything from them.

My order from the Gourmet Finger Food Menu was for 8 items per person, however there were missing items from each category: 1x (a seafood dish) from Gourmet menu, 2x from Vegetarian menu, 2x from Vegan menu. If these weren't available (which is understandable), I will add that no replacements were provided on the day.

I am still waiting for a response and for my refund. Please check your order on the day. Customers pay the agreed price, therefore we must receive the agreed quantity. If not available, either provide us with a replacement on the day, or a refund later on.

I heard of Fabulous Catering from my work, who used them for a number of company events. Which was why I decided to use Fabulous Catering for a surprise birthday lunch gathering for my partner. The chef who looked after us was amazing. She was by herself, preparing the food, serving us, and then cleaning up after everyone's gone. The food I ordered, from the Gourmet Finger Food menu, was different to what she was used to preparing, which did not daunt her at all. We can see she really enjoyed cooking/prepping. All through the event, she remained calm, friendly, and customer-focused. She looked after our Vegetarian and Vegan friends really well too. The food tasted better than expected - maybe because I ordered from the Gourmet menu AND stayed away from fried foods. We, and our friends, were impressed, and we will use Fabulous Catering as long as we have this same chef again.

From start to finish we were very happy with the levels of service, the quality of the food and the professionalism of Fabulous Catering.

Our event was the opening of a community home for people with an intellectual disability, the staff approached our clients with respect, dignity and caring. This helped to make our event a huge success.

I had two amazing ladies from Fabulous Catering cook and serve finger food provided by Fabulous catering. The food was wonderful and I couldn't fault the staff who helped make my 50th birthday celebration so very special. They were so friendly and nothing was to much trouble on a very hot summer night. My experience with Fabulous Catering has been a very positive one.

I have used Fabulous catering for a mix of work and personal events over the years, and most recently I tried the three course gourmet meal with a cocktail and three paired (delicious) wines.

Having cancelled our wedding, we had this on the date our wedding was meant to be and I couldn t fault anything.

All the food comes pre packaged and it s super easy to cook and doesn t take much time.

Everything was so tasty, the servings were huge (we had leftovers for the next day!) and we ended up having the best night thanks to these guys.

We got the hot smoked ocean salmon for entree, pork belly for mains and panacotta for dessert and it was like eating at a 5 star restaurant.

Would definitely order this box again (and keep trying more off the venue!) and also a great gift idea too.

Tasty well prepared food, delivered as requested. Will use them again for our next function.

Fabulous Catering delivered all meals to the Melbourne staff for a virtual lunch get-together we were holding. All food was delivered in the timeframe required and it was fantastic quality with all the staff singing praises. Well done Fabulous Catering! Will definitely use you again in the future.

Over a year ago we organized Fabulous Catering for our wedding. We ended up having a number of problems with the company which I will outline below:

1) We tried and failed to organize a tasting as our emails went unheeded, but by this time we had already chosen and booked what we wanted (which looked good on the website, but was not in real life - more on this later).

2) On the day the two "Professional" waiters/servers were at most 19 and inexperienced and did not move around to all of the guests and make sure that everyone got something to eat. I mention this as we specifically told them that there were a couple of elderly family members one of which is almost blind who we wanted to make sure got something to eat.

3)The chef was rude to, and managed to get into an argument with my younger brother who has been working in food service for a number of years. My wife head the altercation and intervened and only when I appeared did the chef take the tone back down to acceptable levels.

4) The food. Now the food, taste wise, was acceptable but the portion sizes were smaller than expected, especially the "substantial" foods, and almost all of the foods did not look like the pictures on the website. An example: the "gourmet" finger foods had a hamburger as an option that we picked, the picture shows a slider on a brioche bun with a pattie, cheese, tomato, lettuce etc. What we got: 2 pieces of french baguette, a small pattie, a piece of cheese and tomato sauce. Most of the other foods were similarly miss-represented on their website.

After the Honeymoon we emailed Fabulous Catering with these complaints to see what they would do about the issues, and lo and behold they ignored us, not even a courtesy email with an apology. Over the next couple of months we tried again at least 4 more times and again nothing. I guess once they had our money they didn't seem to care about customer service anymore.

TL:DR - Inexperienced "professional" staff, rude Chef, small portion size, food didn't look like the advertised pics at all and the company ignored any attempts we made to contact them to rectify issues.

My advice - Do you research and hire someone else for your function.

I used Fabulous Catering for my husband's 70th birthday and found the whole process from first contact to end of function to be - well "fabulous". It was great to be able to see photos of each dish and there was ample choice of menu dishes. I hired a catering chef and catering assistant. I should also have included a bar waiter as well and would do so in the future. I am a happy customer and our friends were most complimentary of the food and service.

Used Fabulous Catering for my son's 21st birthday party in Brisbane and cannot speak highly enough about the food and service. Meat for BBQ was melt in the mouth, rolls were soft and fresh and mini desserts were also a big hit. Fries were also cooked on site and were loved by all. The service was very professional, polite and friendly and they couldn't do enough for you. I would highly recommend this caterer to anyone looking for a quality experience.

Had a small house party and the food and catering were absolutely fab! They did a wonderful job and Marilyn was fantastic. The food was excellent and service was even better if possible.

Got their Christmas box... first they said we had to order extra to reach the minimum for delivery the day before Christmas. The food was bland and they gave us the wrong platters and forgot one of the platters and when we called to let them know they said that if we order something again next year we would be given a complimentary platter.... it s not really complimentary if it s paid for and we have to order another minimum amount to get this complimentary platter...

Really disappointed and definitely won t be ordering again.

Thankyou to Adam and his team for delivering a lovely Father's Day gift to my dad when I couldn't. The delivery team called promptly when my dad didn't answer the door, and his present was on time and well presented. Thankyou again!

I ate Fabulous Catering for a month straight. They never failed to disappoint me. It's safe to say I've tried a large portion of the menu and not a single item stood out to me. If I could describe the quality I would say left over American cafateria food. It looks like it sits for a while before it reaches your plate at least 24 hours. One day you get real mash the next you get instant. Most of the vegetables come from a can, and the ones that don't are undercooked. If you can avoid using them as your go to catering company I suggest you do. This is a city known for its food, and it certainly doesn't meet the Melbourne standard of causine.

Food was pretty awful, tasted as bad as it looked, and very small portions. Fabulous Catering charged me twice for the pleasure of the poor food and then left me waiting 3 months for the credit... overall, not so Fabulous!!

Think twice about using this catering company. We had Fabulous provide some finger food for out daughter's 3rd birthday and it was beyond awful. The mini bagels turned up stale and hard and the blinis and potato Rosti's looked and tasted very bad. When I called to complain there was no response from management or anyone except the driver and it was too late to provide new food. This bad follow up service made a bad situation worse. We're in Melbourne so not sure if other states are better but I would never use Fabulous again. Staff were nice though throughout the order process but unfortunately that didn't make up for the food.

Fabulous Catering was a breeze to work with. Dave was relaxed, honest and organised and we felt at ease working with him and trusting him with our wedding (Oct 2017). On the day, staff were professional and caring and the food was delicious. Thanks heaps to the team!

I do not recommend this company. Make sure you try before you buy. Used them for my Dads 80th and the finger food was incredibly substandard. Some dishes inedible. Very small portions, some dishes looked as bad as they tasted. Embarrassed and disappointed. And I chose a lot of the gourmet options. Clearly the staff have not tasted the dishes as there is no way they could recommend them if they had. Sent an email of complaint as well as a survey and as yet no response.
Similar to a previous reviewer the staff handling the ordering process were very good and most helpful. But the point of the exercise was the food. And it was mostly awful.

Abolutely AMAZING food! With the website being easy to use, I made one simple phone call and within 20 minutes, I had arranged everything and paid for it. What is usually one of the stressful parts or organising a function, was actually the most simple thanks to Fabulous Catering. Definitely recommend!!

I was very very happy with this company as a whole. I had Susan and she made sure as a bride I was fed and happy with how everything was going. She took control of the event and handled things that she didn't have to like glass breakage etc. Organising the event was also an easy process. Would highly recommend this for events on a budget.

I had researched many catering companies as we are hosting Weddings as a new venue in Brisbane (Tamborine). We choose Fabulous Catering and the staff, service, efficiency was excellent. I had my 30th birthday party at Fabulous Catering s venue Rokeby100 after being lucky enough to win the Fabulous Catering birthday prize. Cassie and the team were so lovely to deal with - they were communicative and professional, provided me with helpful advice and made the whole planning process so easy.

The venue, Rokeby100, was a very cool warehouse style space in the heart of Collingwood. The Fabulous Catering menus had a great range of options to choose from for all dietary requirements. We choose to have a range of platters and finger food and everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The drinks list was also impressive, with only good quality wines and beer to choose from. The function staff were so friendly and attentive. Thank you Fabulous Catering!

After looking at several other catering companies, we decided to use Fabulous Catering because their gourmet menu sounded delicious and was reasonably priced.
From booking all the way through to Dale our amazing Chef walking out the door leaving my kitchen spotless and our guests happy, we found the professionalism, the service and the quality of the food to be excellent. I would highly recommend Fabulous Catering and we will definitely use again in the future.

My sister recommended Fabulous Catering as she uses them for her office functions. I have placed 3 separate orders with this company since May. Due to lockdown restrictions, l ordered 2 Mother Days platters, the high tea for my Mum & the Anti pasto platter for my Mother in Law. They absolutely loved them. Last Friday l ordered the Premium Anti Pasto platter & a bottle of wine to be delivered to my Parents for my Dad's 80th Birthday yesterday (once again due to lockdown restrictions). On all occasions the platters were delivered on time, i have heard nothing but good things from Parents & In Laws. Absolutely recommend giving them a try for your event. I will use them again.

Great job - on time, attentive, attention to detail, professional. We catered a work function in a local park. Miscommunication around availability of running water and electricity caused issues w/ heating menu items onsite. Absolutely appalling food, the high tea sandwiches were made with some type of plastic orange 'bread', scones were semi frozen not fresh, cupcakes not supplied, mini desserts were store bought chocolate cups and flaky party pies that crumbled to pieces, which ruined an 80th Birthday and surprise, surprise the company wouldn't reply to respond to phone calls or emails regarding any of this.

We had our engagement party in a public park, and many places wouldn't supply to us due to the address. Fabulous catering came on time, and delivered excellent tasty food quickly and easily. Would definitely use them again :)

The sale service was good before the event and the presentation was good during food tasting. However, on the actual day itself, the presentations were not up to standard. Big discrepancy!!

Some food was of poor quality,..food refill was slow despite we had less quests turned up. The staff were stingy in serving my guests food. After that we complained about so many things. It took them more that a month to come to a resolution, back and forth, back and forth to tire us out. The result is they insisted they are FABULOUS and they did a great job. Not only they embarrassed us on our once in a lifetime event and they made us upset after they event without a decent apology.

I also chose from Fabulous Catering the Fathers Day Box with craft beer. My husband loved it. The food was delicious, the beer great choices and delivery right on time.l was so impressed that when they had a special promotion as a thank you to customers who bought their Fathers Day Box which was 7 meals for $29 l took up the offer and was so glad l did. The meals l chose were terrific. Lots of flavour, authentic tastes, exceptionally good and great prices. Well done Fabulous catering.

My workplace contacted Fabulous Catering after a string of poor services with other caterers. Rhiannon Collins answered my query immediately, and was really helpful in making recommendations based on our needs. I told Rhiannon about our previous attempts at ordering catering through other firms resulting in our 'hot' food being delivered cold and unsatisfying. Rhiannon assured me Fabulous Catering would deliver hot, fresh food and she was 100% right! The delivery came, 2 hot platters for a client meeting, and everyone was impressed with not only the quality of the hot, delicious food, but also with the gentleman who delivered the food, and helped us serve it! Unfortunately I didn't get his name, but I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to Rhiannon and the delivery driver for their professionalism and integrity! Sensum Group will definitely be a repeat customer!

Thank you Fabulous Catering for the amazing "Father's Day in a Box" you delivered for my husband. The quality of the food and wine was spectacular and having it delivered to our door made my day so much easier! We've used Fabulous Catering for home delivery twice in 2020 and both times its been AMAZING!! Once was for a special birthday dinner, we had the pork belly, dauphinoise potatoes and a soup and everything was delicious! They even threw in a free lasange for us which was HUGE so we were very pleased (had it for dinner the next two nights!) :D We then got the Father's Day box delivered on Sept 6th which was lovely. Yummy selection of fancy finger food and beers, presented beautifully and delivered in a timely manner. 10/10

We used Fabulous Catering for an Official Office Opening in South Australia. Staff arrived in a timely manner and Fabulous Catering went out of their way to have the Head Chef attend our venue before the event to ensure that they would have the appropriate equipment available to cater the function.

Very pleased with the help and service before the Afternoon Tea, every one very clear on what to expect. Delivery was flawless by a pleasant young Man. Afternoon Tea was a success .

Fabulous Catering catered for 40 guests at my 75th birthday - the food was delicious, the food perfect nd the amount per person great. I will be using them again.

I just hosted my son s first birthday party at Fabulous catering function room called 100 Rokeby. I was very nervous about using a converted wearhouse for a kids party. But it was perfect. Stylish, great space, attention to detail. The kids could run around, they provided a ball pit and tent and tunnels. The adults enjoyed espresso martini s and a mixture of kid friendly fingerfoods and sophisticated adult treats.

They decorated my son s birthday table with favourite toys, protraits and decorations. They were able to play a slide show of son s first year on a large screen. They had PA for speeches. And plenty more martini s.

They also went out of their way to get a change table for the all purpose toilets. I m so thrilled they really put a lot of thought and consideration into my son s special day.

We ordered meals from Gourmeal, there is a great range and the food is great, we loved it so much, we are going to order again this week.

Very disappointed with food. They make it sound fancy which it wasn't. Premium Gourmet Beef Burgundy Pies with Tomato Relish - aka Party pies with tomato sauce. Thai Fish Cakes Premium fish fillets, thai spices and dash of chilli - aka Over spiced rubbery fish discs. This is not a reflection on the staff who attended. They were good. Would not recommend this company.

Delivery time was perfect. Food was on time, hot and very well prepared. All I needed to do was put it out, ready to eat. No fuss. It made the event run very smoothly. Fabulous Catering catered our wedding on March 30th @2019. We had a vast selection of dishes from the premium and standard finger food menus. David, our representative, was extremely helpful and professional and communication was prompt and efficient.

On the day, the staff were well presented and made sure that every one had ample amounts of food. Our gluten free, dairy free and generally fussy eaters were well catered for and had separate food boxes as to exclude cross contamination. Thank you for the yummy cocktail snacks and platters for our party. There was plenty for everyone, the hot food was delivered nice and hot and the presentation was lovely.

We had our office function on the 19/10/2016. The food was delivered on time. Everyone think the food was fantastic, good selection and value for money. Everyone was really impressed by the quality of the food as well.

I was blown away by the amazing service provided by you guys! I ordered 2 Father s Day hampers and was updated every step of the way and notified once they had been delivered. Both my dad and father in-law absolutely loved their hampers! It was such a unique and special gift for Father s Day especially during lockdown. I would definitely use fabulous catering again and recommend them to family and friends. Thank you

From the chef, food and service everything was AMAZING. Value for your money especially for a ladies weekend away (14 ladies) having a chef come and prepare a delicious Gourmet BBQ. Would definitely use their services again in the future.

We used Fabulous Catering for a staff event, we got them to do an antipasto table accompanied with fresh breads, not only was it visually pleasing (everyone was snap happy for their instagrams) but the food was so good and plenty of it, the catering lady was very professional, efficient and helpful. We will definitely be getting it again, great value for money.

The communications between myself and catering coordinator Vanessa was amazing. She had so much patience with me over the covid restrictions.
The staff on the night were amazing, lots of communication there too. They cleaned everything so well it was like they were never there.
There were smiles and full happy bellies at the end. I can't fault them at all.

The ladies totally looked after all the service and the food was great. I didn't have to get involved at all. They were very friendly and went beyond the call of duty to make sure I had a great party.

Found them on google for hubby's 50th birthday party. Communications were great. Fantastic system - you can view your quote and make changes online etc. Chef & wait staff were very good at the party. And most of all, food were really really good! All the guests at the party really liked the food and asked where I found them! Will definitely recommend to everyone and use them in future :) Couple photos attached - they were the crowd pleasers!

Doing home delivery meals, SUPER good value and really nice food.

To put simply, it's was embarrassing. Everything was dry and tasteless and the presentation was terrible.
I don't think I will be using their services or recommending Fabulous catering to anyone.
There was nothing fabulous about our platters.
