Marvel exhibit was my favorite. The Sci fi exhibit and the fantasy exhibits were cool too. Was great to see the Nirvana piece back in town. We spent over 4 hours here. My kids are really into music though, so that had a lot to do with it. We only left because it was lare and we were hungry. We could have spent another hour here easily.

First time all of my family went there. Pity we didn't have time to see all of exhibits. I did very nice shopping at the MoPC stores, too. If we will visit Seattle again definitely we go to Museum of Pop Culture again.
Excellent museum showcasing Nirvana, local music, indie games, and pop culture sci-fi. The upstairs music section allows you to try and play instruments yourself which is really cool. The Seahawks exhibit also has some nice little touches. The reason for the one-star deduction is due to some of the exhibits being out of order. I was really looking forward to playing the awkward teenager video game, but it wasn't working for the day. The food at the kitchen is also pretty good, though slightly expensive
If for nothing else the area where you can try out and learn different musical instruments was amazing. Really liked the Rube Goldberg exhibit and the fantasy one too.
Absolutely superb. I loved everything about it. It provides interesting insight on some of my favorite subjects. Also an amazing collection of artifacts.
The museum itself is an amazing experience, but I have to say that the view of the museums curves, the space needle and the monorail are the things I ve loved the most about the US. It s an amazing view of what the future may look like. Simply amazing.
Should be named museum of Nirvana, Pearl jam, Jimi Hendrix, sci-fi, horror and videogames. Honestly those are things that I like but I found it to be very limited, maybe I'll check back in 10 years when they've added more to the collection.
All sorts of science fiction and movie pieces, props, posters, and other artwork as well as musician exhibits. Well-designed exhibits, too. Slightly pricy at $30, but I found it with the expense.
Formerly the Experience Music Project, the Museum of Pop Culture has expanded beyond it's former music roots to include science fiction, fantasy, horror, video games, and fun pop culture. I always make a visit whenever I'm in town for their special exhibits.
Cool place An exhibition of musical instruments that you can experiment with in private rooms alone or that you can invite nearby musicians to join you. There is a huge statue built of lots of musical instruments. Rooms dedicated to artists such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Prince, including clothing, musical instruments, song lists and artists' belongings. When we were a minecraft exhibit that the kids were excited about, it included statues of the characters, game consoles and video games describing the game, how it was created and its applications.
By far one of the coolest museums I've ever visited. The interactive exhibits in the fantasy section are really fun to play around with. You could easily spend an entire here geeking out.
I had a wonderful experience here with the Kurt Cobain and the Jimi Hendrix exhibit that I went upstairs to the Marvel exhibit and saw all the different characters in the Marvel and DC Universe that I ran downstairs and they have a space exhibit all the sci-fi fantasy movies based out of space for me and everything that comes along with it.
Very fun place for anyone even remotely interested in film, tv, pop culture. Great for kids too as the upper floor is musical instruments and recording booths. A must visit in Seattle.
How? How do i review something so incredible? Something that holds appeal for all ages, an eclectic mix of science fiction, fantasy and horror, rock and grunge stardom, for me, stuff that changed my life back in the late 80s, early 90s! How can I describe being in a sound proof booth with a Marshall stack and a Fender Strat, playing and shredding in my own company....testing my vocals and drum skills out, jamming with folk I've never met before? Or how about seeing the Doors playing on a giant screen, with very special guests? Let's not forget about a 4 dimensional trip through a black hole in a holosphere or becoming Iron Man. How am I supposed to review that? Well, with cool staff and a great merchandise store, an excellent Cafe and bar to help me think, maybe I'll be able to write a review about how perfect the Museum of Pop Culture is. Plan a day, it'll take you that long to take it all in......... Thanks guys, until the next time.
Protagonists: Jimi Hendrix, Prince, Nirvana. Upstairs, visitors can test themselves as musicians. A bit expensive. Parking especially expensive. Drive out of the city with the monorail to the Needle language.
Spent more time here than I was expecting. The Nirvana exhibit was awesome but I'd have liked to have seen the same amount and quality of information for the Jimi Hendrix and Pearl Jam exhibits too. If you're a Marvel fan, I'd pay the extra for that exhibit currently on too.
Hit and miss. Some of the exhibits like the indie games one and the horror one were fantastic but others were rather disappointing especially the Hendrix one.
