Always an interesting exhibition about music history or underground culture
Such a great place to go. My son visits it often. I have a great time with him there.
Really cool with lots of fun interactive exhibits! Great for the young and the young at heart
So much fun! Loved the horror & sci fi exhibits the most besides the awesome Gehry building itself!
Fun museum that's on the must-do list for a Seattle visit.
Get the little girl giggles just thinking about this place! So much fun and yet I got to learn so much at the same time. And the best part is that it's not somewhere I'd visit just once!
I did not know what to expect coming in to the EMP for the first time, but after spending almost 5 hours there, I can say it was totally worth the visit! The museum is divided into separate exhibits, so you can skip or spend time on the things that interest you!
There was no homeless people or tents inside. Very satisfied with that
Gorgeous Frank Gehry building! Amazing exhibits! Awesome staff! A must-see in Seattle!
My husband enjoyed this place more than I did. Not sure what I was expecting, but it didn t have a lot that interested me besides the costumes on display in the Fantasy section. My husband really liked the Marvel exhibit which cost extra.
Nice place. I am not a big Pearl Jam fan but the exhibit was cool and I like them more now. The Sci-Fi and Horror exhibits were cool also.
Great one of a kind museum! Comics, horror, rock, video games, fantasy and more! Lover in Seattle for 15 months and have visited twice work different guests, will be back!
If you are someone who is into fandom, go here. This place went above and beyond my expectations and was one of the coolest parts of my trip.
It s the best for fans this team who exhibited inside.
Lots of fun marvel is arriving at the end of the week yay
Bought a yearly pass, extremely good deal if you are a local. Plan on spending no less than 4 hours here, all exhibits are captivating. So much to see. Probably one of the best museums in the US.
Such an awesome experience, so many displays and exhibits. Give yourself time to check it all out, so much to offer.
Really cool place to go and enjoy being silly, and find really cool things to admire. If you are a Nirvana and Jimmy Hendrix fan, you are gonna love it.
Definitely worth the money the marvel exhibit was amazing and so was the nirvana one I loved being able to learn instruments in a few minutes and the fact that it s interactive was great! And for my fellow sci-fi fans you NEED to check out the original props downstairs
LOVE IT. We went mainly for the Marvel and Fantasy exhibits but were really pleased with everything else the museum had to offer. My husband is a musician and had so much fun playing around in the Sound Lab.
Definitly worth it to get the special exhibit pass if you're a marvel fan
This place is great. The exhibits are beautiful, filled with attention and care at every turn. The building is also pretty rad. Highly recommended, great for families.
So many fun things to see! The Marvel exhibit is way fun!
Fantastic museum that has something for everyone. Whether you're a music lover, a gamer, a Seahawks fan, a horror enthusiast, a sci-fi lover, and/or fantasy fanatic, at MoPOP, you can be sure you'll find something that catches your eye.
Such an interesting building and museum. $25 admission so plan on spending some time there to get your moneys worth.
MoPop is in a much better place than it was as a strict music-centric experience, and yet every time I go there I find the exhibits juuuuust a little bit lacking.
The current marvel exhibit for example has great showcase pieces, and yet was severely underwhelming in information about WHY many of the things on display were relevant.
Worth the admission to get in. Easily can spend 3+ hours in it. Loved all the interactive exhibits. Highly recommend
Loved every twist and turn. What a great place to spend the day wandering through the exhibits. Wear your walking shoes!
Awesome place to wander around for pop culture nerds. Tons of classic props both new and old, a miniature geek utopia in the middle of Seattle. Great architecture and cool rotating displays.
Well setup with themed rooms that takes you down memory lane of your childhood.
Neat, but couldn't shake the feeling of a wasted opportunity. Lots of music exhibits and a huge women's fashion exhibit (that didn't seem to be pop culture related) with only a couple of small sci fi & fantasy exhibits. Also no TV exhibit which was quite surprising. Overall well done, just felt like it was only good when it had the chance to be great.
So much fun. The exhibits, the cafe and the store. All fantastic. Highly recommend.
A great atmosphere and care of collections. Fun for an afternoon in the city.
Lots to see, very cool and quirky museum, but be prepared for a lot of walking and a good amount of stairs. Due to the museums unique layout, we felt like we were constantly going up and down to get the different sections.
Its a tourist place you have to see whilst in Seattle and I agree with that (personally I choose rather then spend my money on the space needle) However it depends on the type of person you are and the experience you get. Myself, I gave it a solid 2.5 our of 5, the museum is cool and you learn stuff that maybe you might not have known about Nirvana, Jimmy Hendrix, Pearl Jam etc. However in my opinion the extra 16 or so dollars to see the marvel experience is not worth it Sure you get to see some costumes and facts about each character but im sure if you Google the characters youd probably get the same info.
Love the scifi and horror gallery, too bad they didn't include X file displays
Easily one of the best museum out there for the average Joe. It got everything a normal dude would like: music, movies, games. Just a place for anyone.
Fun museum. I would check that they have exhibits you are interested in before going, $30 is a steep price if you aren t interested in the specific pop culture they are presenting
Cool enough, but would be more valued by extreme fans of the featured artists. Went for an hour, and we were throughly satified. (To be fair we also got free passes.) The fantasy and sci-fi exhibits were quite cool. We did not pay extra to see the Marvel exhibit, as we didn't think the value was worth it. It does look like it's a pretty awesome event venue however.
While I'm not a local, if you're vacationing in Seattle, this place is a must-stop. There's great exhibits on every floor, and some are particularly interactive.
If you have younger children, I wouldn't reccomend the horror-themed exhibit, but other than that, I'd say it's great for all-ages.
Favorite areas are the video game area and musical instrument area. Visitors have all been very polite and we have been able to play a lot of things. Don't miss out on the air guitar on display.
Museum of Pop Culture has pretty cool exhibits here! Nerded out a bit when I saw some costumes actually worn in the filming of Harry Potter, or the light sabers used in Star Wars. Though I'm not a huge football/Seahawks fan, the area dedicated to the Seahawks was really cool, and I even watched a portion of the Superbowl movie they had playing in the theater. Lots of Seattle pride feels.
Would recommend if you love movies / guitars, but the movies and pop culture references are not the most recent, so don't come expecting Beyonce / Bruno Mars, think more Jimi Hendrix / Star Trek.
One of my favorite Museum's. Looking forward in going back to it
Interactive with instruments to play in sound-proofed rooms, plus videos describing the evolution of the music scene. WELL DONE!!
The EMP is an awesome architectural piece and you can experience that bit for free! Once you go inside, though, it has more cool stuff to show you. It has a nice cafe (although the prices are quite steep) and some really great exhibits. When I went the Nirvana exhibit was there (which I don't think is permanent) and it was one of the coolest exhibits I've ever experienced. Without this exhibit the price of admission is still worth it for the Science Fiction and Horror section and possibly whatever other traveling exhibits show up.
Amazing Marvel comic display going on at the moment. Also a pretty cool display of Jimi Hendrix items, original artwork, costumes, guitars. Definitely worth seeing. There is also a bunch of horror flick items ranging from night mare on elm St to Van helsing to the creature from the black lagoon and even the power supply box from Frankenstein. Worth the price of admission.
Loved their music exhibits and the feature exhibits on fantasy and sci-fi/horror. My only comment would be that the admission is a little expensive, but still very worthwhile!
I have no words to describe this wonderful museum. Beautiful inside and out - please allow half a day to explore.
With very little you really spend a good time there, when I went there were closed rooms, very well, I liked it.

Local museum that celebrates music and sci-fi. Always have good exhibits that are worth checking out, some times twice.
This was more fun than I thought it was going to be. Lots of neat stuff to see & do.
Loved the Museum of Pop Culture. I've been there twice. Very helpful staff.
Fully accessible with ADA accommodation with a large elevator between floors. Accessible entrances and washrooms.
Ride share and taxi drop off circle.
Close to other attractions.
Although the entrance fee is fairly expensive, don't miss this Museum!
This is a cool museum. I especially love the room where you can learn and play music.
Wow what an option for the city of Seattle, this has what it takes for history of music.
Great time, lots of exhibits changing, makes for a great family experience over and over
If you love pop history this place is for you! Lots of fun and interesting interaction to play with.
We loved the museum. They have a display for Jimi Hendricks, though they say not as large as it used to be. They also have Prince on display. Even have his motorcycle that you can actually sit on. Nice musuem.
Really nice place to come to kids really enjoyed it
The main attraction for us was the Marvel exhibit. It had a lot of information about the studio, and costumes from the MCU movies. The Iron Man AR experience was popular especially amongst kids. The other exhibits were not bad, my favourite one was the Indie Game one.
I love this museum! The exhibits were all cool and showcased a lot of unique artifacts such as film props and costumes. The special exhibit on Marvel was cool too! It was interesting to see how the stories have been translated/changed for different media formats as well as overtime.
If you're a music lover and a science fiction lover then you will love this place. I stayed in the music room for the most part.
This is truly a Museum of Pop Culture. I m glad they changed the name from Experience Music Project (EMP). I bought a membership solely for the Star Trek exhibit, but I love visiting all of the other exhibits, both permanent and temporary. Perks like being the first person of the general public to ever see the Marvel Exhibit was exhilarating! Thank you, MoPOP for promoting such worthy works of art in the form of Pop Culture!
