My favorite stop in Seattle. I spent about 3 hours here in awe of all the amazing, interesting, things this place had to offer. Aside from all the history, guitars, and memorabilia for Nirvana and Kurt Cobain (which was AWESOME), they have a ton of information and cool things to check out for Pearl Jam and Prince. If you're into music at all this place is for you. There are also syfy, fantasy, and horror sections. All very interesting. Worth every penny; not that it was expensive. I even bought some shirts, which I rarely do. Check it out - I doubt you'll be disappointed.

I had no idea this would be that good! The photos in Google do little justice to what it actually is. The museum is absolutely massive and if you are a fan of movies and music, this is the place for you. You have guitars used by Hendrix and Kurt. You also get to see movie props and lots of other stuff. Its very kid friendly too

This place has tons of things to look at and many different themes that are very interesting. For the price though I don't think I would have gone if it hadn't been included in the Seattle City Pass.

I was not expecting much but it was pretty awesome. I think my wife and I liked it more than our kids did since it was all the music and movies from our era. The kids loved the music lab and sou n.a. d garage.

Loved the wearable art exhibit, the horror films exhibit (even though I don't like horror films), musical instruments exhibit, and several other fun exhibits. Had a cafe & bar on site too, which was good and handy.

This is a very peculiar place. First of all looks like a museum for a certain profile of people that matched perfectly with me. SciFi, Terror, Fantasy, guitar player and music lover. The music section of the museum is specially focused on the Seattle history and the rise of grunge and contra culture movement.

Is specially good the third floor where you can play different instruments.

Cool if you are into Pearl Jam, Nirvana and the whole Seattle music scene from the 90s. Or also have a lot of movie props from Sci-fi moves and horror movies. If you are going to see this and the Space Needle they sell a combo pack at a discounted rate that's worth looking into.

Overpriced. Messy. Cool guitars squeezed in random places. Descriptions - font displayed on a colour background-not contrasty, difficult to read. Light is bad, not prepared for museum. If you dont like noisy, not well behave kids-dont go.

Mopop was even better than I had hoped for. When I was there they had the Marvel exhibit, and with Stan Lee's recent death I have gone back several times to look at the pictures I took. The Nirvana exhibit was amazing, showing the bands influences and giving me more information about the band and it's members. I also really enjoyed the Hendrix exhibit. The sci-fi and horror exhibits were also very fun. I didn't have enough time to check out the gaming exhibit. There is so much to check out here, my advice is to try to go early during the day, and on a day that is not as busy.

Worth it! It's got awesome exhibits of popular and relevant stuff. Great Nirvana exhibit as well. Is not too big that you will be exhausted but big enough to be full of some really great items. Location is great too. Walkable from downtown and right next to the needle and museum of glass.

The EMP Museum (formally known as the Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum) is quite possibly one of the coolest museums in the country. The museum is dedicated to all things popular culture, with a big (and I mean BIG) emphasis on music. The EMP is filled with everything your inner nerd could ever want including Dalek statues, original manuscripts from the Lord of the Rings, several of Lady Gaga s outfits, and Nirvana s first demo tape. There are exhibits ranging from the icons of science fiction to Jimi Hendrick s impact on London. In addition, the museum has several studio booths where patrons can record and actually purchase their sessions. Also, when you re finished you ll find that both the International Fountain and the Space Needle are right outside.

O,my God. Why did I miss this museum before? Its perfect for teens. Or for kids elder than 8yo, I think so. And for parents too. Hendricks hall - guitars, guitars and music sarround. Movies - the best ones, like star trek. Videogames. And the best part (which is available for free no matter, even if you're not coming to the museum)- one of the best playground in the city for kids elder than 6.

If you have been here once, that's probably enough. Went for Prince exhibit and was underwhelmed. A couple artifacts and several pictures on the wall and music videos playing. Was bored. For a music exhibition place, it's pretty dull.

Best of all was the Star Trek/sci fi section, even though the material from the original sci fi museum on the history of science fiction was no longer on display. But there were lots of Trek and other contemporary sci fi costumes and props on display. Not quite as much selection in the main and Star Trek gift shops as I had hoped.

Definitely a stop to make while your in Seattle. Reason I love this place is because it has exhibits of stuff I actually remember lol. Caters to all ages, and from some of my younger family members they loved the Marvel exhibit.

Surprisingly fun place to spend an hour or two. Didn't expect much going in, but the Nintendo and Fantasy exhibits were stellar. In addition to perfectly themed rooms, they have interactive stations where you can play games or watch informative movies.

This was a truly unique experience. The staff was super helpful and the exhibits were phenominal. Food was on point and the price was right.

I saw the entire museum plus the marvel exhibit for 42 which included some perks like 10% off food(alcohol not included) and swag from gift shop.

Would suggest spending 1 hr watching the Jimmy hendrix experience. Great collection of hand written lyrics on hotel and flight notepads, truly encapsulates the wild life he was living, always on the go, and yet he simply hoped his lover would remember his gypsey eyes.

This place was amazing! I went two weekends in a row, one with my parents and one with a friend. I had a great time each time. The set up is great and I feel like there was a really good mix of items to look at and exhibits to enjoy. The staff was friendly and relatively knowledgeable and I think I'll absolutely go again.

MoPop is seriously so awesome! Went here as a volunteer for Seattle Mini MakerFaire last year and was given two complimentary guest passes. Took my girlfriend and we scoured the entire museum and loved it. Could easily spend a day here. We did, and we still didn't catch all the exhibits. Will be back for the next Faire and to check out the new exhibits!

Interesting museum about rock music, in general. It has a nice section on nirvana and Jimmy Hendrix. The guitar arrangement at the entrance is memorable. It also has a Sci-Fi section. But the best parts are usually the temporary exhibits: with costumes from star wars, star trek, Bugs Bunny...

In general, the MoPop was great. But I was disappointed when I entered at the Music Lab and there weren't lefty guitars or bass... With exhibits like Hendrix and Cobain, I had some hope that maybe I would be able to play a little on those instruments, but I guess I was wrong... so, guys, you need more lefty instruments !!
