This place was amazing. I paid for two hours if parking but we ended up staying for over four hours. One of our favorite places that we visited during our week long vacation.
My favorite museum. As a lover of popular culture and sci-fi, this is my kind of place,
If you are a rocker or simply like the art of music, it is one of the tourist spots to be visited
Love the exhibits! Really cool place to come with the family, but the scary movie exhibit does give me the creeps, LOL!
A must to go if you are a Pearl Jam and Nirvana fan.
This is a very interesting museum, and its marvelous to see all the authentic props from movies and musicians they have. However, if you go, you really need to be a fan of the exhibit you explore. It takes being familiar with the media you are looking at to really appreciate what they have there. I appreciate horror movies, I'm not a huge fan, so the horror exhibit was ho-hum for me. It all takes determination
Really Interesting exhibits. Not too big. Very doable. If you like music check out their new exhibits.
Bowie exhibit was good and the interactive music exhibit is cool.
My husband loved this place. He said he could have spent all day there. And I believe him. They pack a ton of exhibits in a fairly small area, and there's a lot of info and stuff in each. Visually, it's quite a sight! Unfortunately, I didn't know how little I appreciate pop culture until I went to this place. So here's my advice, and I am serious here people: know yourself. If the exhibits don't sound interesting to you, they.won't.be. Go to the Pacific Science Center, Chihuly Glass Museum, the Space Needle, or just walk around the square (or ride the Monorail 45 times, whatever)... It's all right there. But be cool-- MoPop is packed with people already so if it's not your cup of tea, maybe go get some other tea.
I love the changing exhibits. I miss the old name of EMP but I enjoy having more pop culture exhibits.
Make sure you carve out some hours to explore this gem.
My favorite place is the jam room. Have a few friends in there, and play the guitar, drums, and keyboard to you hearts content
Best museum experience ever!! Something for everyone! Would totally go again and again
I was so excited to go here, especially for the Marvel exhibit. The museum is smaller than I expected. The fantasy, hall of fame, and horror exhibits were fun but some of the others were not that great. Overall, I'd say hit or miss. Tip- not so much worth the admission for kids.
My favorite experience through my trip. I started my trip by visiting this museum in May. There's so much to see. The sound lab was so much fun for my friends and I. It's a must and there are surrounding museums and the Space Needle. Lots to do in the area.
Very interesting museum however several activities were broken and just left.
Holy cow the Marvel exhibit is huuuuuge! Plan to spend an hour or two on that alone. It's real good.
I've been there once for a party and I loved it. Great exhibits and very well planned.
Very fun museum.
Enjoyed this place so much more than we expected. Our favorite exhibits were the ones on scifi and scary movies. It was a blast. You will especially like it if you are into music history.
I'm just a little disappointed that they don't have a meme exhibit
I love everything about this place. My husband and I are members, and go quite often. We love grabbing a drink and food at the bar, then wandering the amazing exhibits. I never see unhappy kids or parents, so I think anyone of any age would be happy here!
Such a fun place. Was pleasantly surprised at all the memorabilia they had!
EMP is a lot of fun, for a quick afternoon's visit. It'll only take about two hours to get through the entire place.
I LOVE the sci-fi museum in the basement. Especially the dalek! The music is so-so , but maybe I prefer more stories behind the music. It's interactive enough for older kids and teens, but they may not appreciate the local music focus.
Super fun! A last minute decision that led to hours of fun
If you love grunge rock of 90's music this is a must see place.
This place is awesome. Checked out the marvel universe exhibit, it was great. Otherwise there are a sci fi exhibit, Jimi Hendrix exhibit, a music room where you can record your own tracks, a gaming exhibit, and more. We spent the better part of 3 hours there, could have been 6, had a great time. Holo-dome is lame don't go for it.
Fantastic place to visit when it's rainy. If you gave food stamps, you can get up to 4 people in for free.
For the music, sci fi, horror, and fashion lover. This place was amazing. The museum itself is huge with open air feeling and the different exhibits are set up in such a way they blend seamlessly into each other. So glad I came and thank you to my boss for the recommendation
Lots of fun, multiple interesting exhibits at the same time, pricey.
It's perfect, you will find a lot of culture and pop music lovers will love it
We went on Smithsonian museum day so it was packed. Great exhibits, we had a great time.
So much to do and so much to see. What a great experience
The single best place I visited during my trip. Between Star Trek, princess bride, Nintendo, Lord of the rings, and the horror section, there was something for everyone.
Depends on what kind of exhibit they have, but most of them you can blow through it in 30min-1 hour. Very mediocre some exhibits...
Such a fun place to go to with the family full of different things to find and explore! Very worth your ticket price!
Great place and nice to learn more about the area during a flying visit.
This museum's exhibits are quite underwhelming, especially for $28 per adult. I wasn't interested in Pearl Jam, Hendrix, or hands-on instrument stations. Needs more sci-fi and funner movie exhibits, and fewer niche music displays.
Definitely a must see if you like music, fashion and fantasy things like star wars, Princess Bride.
I love coming to this museum. I try to make it here every time I come to Seattle. They always have some cool theme running every time. The last time I went they had Star Wars costumes that were actually used in the films, it was pretty awesome to say the least. Come here if you are in Seattle, you won't regret it. Its fun for all ages and you can use the Seattle City Pass to attend. Summers can be busy so if you don't like being crowded by lots of kids maybe come during the school year rather then summer.
I was there 10 years ago and again recently. They seem to have far fewer artifacts now. I was disappointed.
Museum was good but I was not impressed with the Star Trek exhibit.
Pretty cool place. The giant tornado looking guitar structure is really unique. It was fun to jam around.
The Seattle Science Fiction Museum is an insaine amount of fun. They have everything you've ever seen plus a massive viewing theater that is mind blowing.
Extremely cool place to go! Almost everything is hands on and you could spend hours in each of the exhibits.
Really cool museum. Everyone told me to visit this place when I was in Seattle and I'm glad I did. You could easily spend an entire day here.
We enjoyed our visit even though it was quite busy. The Marvel exhibit was enjoyable and very well done. There was a big variety of movies, music, and more.
I love the Experience Music Project. One of the coolest parts is the Jimi Hendrix exhibit. They also have a lot of interactive zones for kids of all ages. They also have memorabilia from stage and screen. Overall a must for any visitor to Seattle and the Seattle Center.
Awesome museum!! Sound rooms and a super fun free outdoor toy right in front of the EMP!
Very interesting the museum and with exhibitions of very varied subjects. The Marvel exhibition is amazing with all the variety in History of each character of the Marvel Universe (both cinematographic and comic)
Great experience for the whole family. Definite must for sci-fi fan
Loved their sci-fi exhibit though it was smaller than I expected. The fantasy exhibit had some really great costumes too.
The Hello Kitty exhibit didn't really appeal to me, but younger children would probably love it.
I found the rock & roll sections, with Hendrix and all the electric guitars really fascinating.
Carolyn was awesome!!! She explained everything to me about what the philosophy of the museum is... everything from the architect to Battlestar Galactica memorabilia.
Waited far too long for tickets, despite the fact that there was no one in line. Walked away after 20 minutes of standing there while the clerks ignored us.
Fantastic architecture, cool location and super cool exhibits make the EMP a must see in Seattle !
A spectacular place to visit for the modern musician or anyone who loves music and the creation thereof
Cool, Prince exhibit is really cool, the exhibit next to the entry across from the cafe is awesome too.
Don't bother going. We were totally disappointed. When i visited around 16 years ago, this museum had an incredibly large collection on display. It was jam packed and fantastic back then. Now, most of the collection is gone, replaced by decorative empty space. Plus, you have to pay extra for the Star Trek exhibit. Not to mention paying thru the nose for parking. So sad that we dont get to see more than a handful of Paul Allens vast collection.
The Museum of Pop Culture far exceeded my expectations! It was like all of my favorite things blended together perfectly, with lots of hands on and interactive exhibits. The Marvel Universe, Nirvana, Sound Lab, and Holodome were phenomenal. The horror and sci-fi collections were a treat. My wife and I had a blast, and we saw everything we wanted to see in four hours.
This place is kind of cool, but it feels more like looking at someone's personal collection of artifacts rather than a curated museum. There isn't a ton of explaining and a lot of the exhibits feel thrown together. Passes an hour or two, but a missed opportunity. Everyone else seems to love it though so maybe it's just me!
Next to no Harry Potter things in the fantasy exhibit
Awesome experience is a little pricey but worth it!! I recommend getting there as early as possible because there s not that many people and after the doors open you have like 1 1/2 hrs.
