Kind of a weird museum . The exhibits seem so random; they have horror, sci-fi and fantasy themed halls, and then also a Bowie exhibit, a Jimi Hendrix room, an indie games area, and a large Star Trek exhibit. Overall it s ultimately a lot of costumes and props in glass boxes; which does get boring. There s also nothing current in there, everything is from the 90s or later. Wouldn t go back, but wasn t a bad visit. No clue why they think that people will pay an extra $5 to see the Muppets exhibit - that seemed like a total money grab.

Great musuem. The Pearl jam exhibit was my favorite but everything was well done and museum itself is gorgeous and expansive. The sound lab was cool hands on. Unfortunately I have no musical bone in my body but went with a musician and that was great. I'd be interested in going back if again depending on what special exhibit would be on display.

Leave yourself time to check out the music lab, where you can play instruments on your own or with guided programs. My favorite part of that exhibit was learning exactly what different guitar effects pedals do!

The genre sections are really fun, too. They have whole spaces devoted to Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Horror, and each one felt like the designer really loved the genre.

A really fun stop on our tour of Seattle. A ton of exhibits that eximpify each of their respective categories excellently. Tons of signs to read if you enjoy those, ample room for plenty of people to fit, interactive exhibits, and more. The Marvel section is an extra five dollars if you fancy visiting that. Overall a nice enjoyable pitstop in lovely Seattle.

Awesome and immersive experience! I love the new Avengers exhibit, it is astounding!
- Get there early, your ticket is good for the entire day and re-entry, until 7 PM
- Take your time, there is lots to read and do

When my wife & I were there, they had so many props from horror films and fantasy films (Walking Dead to The Princess Bride). Marvel had its own exhibit, but we are cheap and skipped it. It was still our favorite part of our visit to Seattle!

I've been a member of the EMP for years at this point and have had some of the coolest experiences of my life there. People like to rip on it and call the building ugly. It's not, they are just small minded. The museum brings in great exhibits, hosts awesome events, and brings in incredible speakers (I'll never forget meeting Clive Barker). Haters gonna hate, but I'll be here with my membership in hand every chance I get!

Nice place but too expensive. The fantasy world was cool but definitely not worth the price to see that and the other exhibits (horror, sci-fi, indie games, guitars). If you really love music (rock) then maybe it would be worth it.

A very interactive and fun museum to go to! During my visit a portion was shut down because they were changing the exhibit, but there was still so much to see here. I especially enjoyed the fantasy as well as horror movie part.

Amazing and beautiful experience. There is so much to see in this museum, you could spend the whole day there. The horror exhibit on the first floor was my favorite part. Props from the most popular horror movies are on display along with some hanging corpses. The sound booth was also really cool. You go in and there are a few instruments to choose from and you can actually record your own music. I will definitely be back!!!!

This museum is a must do to get the total feel and vibe of Seattle! Hendrix Nirvana Pearl jam it's all about the grunge. The reviews are a little inaccurate where it says you can spend wanted 2 hours there! I think we spent four and still had more to see.

Fun

Peter was an amazing help when we entered the museum. He gave us a lot of information about the current exhibits and how to get the most bang for our buck! He is extremely personable and charismatic. We had a fantastic time visiting the Minecraft exhibit and when we are back in Seattle, we will definitely return. Thanks again Peter!

This museum was awesome. In addition to viewing there is ample hands on experience for all members of a family. For me it was all about the roots of grunge. Id recommend the city pass $100 gets you into mpop, space needle, aquarium, and many other experiences.

If you have ever had an interest in music, then you've probably seen all the museum has to offer. I was hoping for interactive displays, new information, something cool (besides the building itself). I left disappointed. It's a lot of space for some pictures, guitars and some MTV playbacks The overall feel is like a hard Rock Cafe, without the food! The only interactive thing to do is the sound stage. You can learn to play a song on the guitar, drums, keyboard, and even sing in a sound booth (pretty cool) you can spend an hour or two, tops.... And there is the $30 to get in, and paid parking, for another $18.

Oh I loved this place and I almost didn't wanna go there!! You should give it a shot if you are a movies fan. Give yourself at least 2 hours to see everything. I kinda rushed it and didn't get to see everything. If you go in the morning, you can leave and go back the same day as many times as you'd like.
A secret tip, if you didn't have time to see everything before they close, you can ask for a return trip for the next day for FREE! Enjoy!

Such a cool building designed by Frank Gehry. It will not disappoint. I wish a had more time when I was here because they have a lot of cool stuff. The guitar and music exhibits are a must when at the Museum.

Awesome museum with so many interesting features and pieces. I wish I had gone much earlier in the day so I could have spent more time here! Included in the Seattle CityPass, which ended up being a fantastic deal for us first-time visitors. The staff is incredible. Knowledgeable, friendly, and they have a few very helpful amenities in place for guests who are exploring the city on foot such as bag and coat check. Very convenient location close to a lot of other attractions. I'll definitely be back to spend more time here soon!

Awesome! One of the highlights of our trip! And we saw the Seahawks from the 45 yard line. We loved it so much we are taking the kids there in a couple of weeks. All the way from Terrace BC

This is a great place to visit if you are in the Seattle area. There is a lot of interesting exhibits and pieces of trivia to pick up while you are hear. The place is huge! About 4 stories of things to see including some famous rock stars guitars, a horror movie collection and two floors of just star trek.

It is the most beautiful building of all those I know of Frank gehry, it is worth getting here, what does not convince me is the content. The exhibitions are quite poor and there is a lot of paid content separately. And also, a lot of ads.
Entering is not essential.

Truly enjoy this museum. It's my 3rd time visiting but it never disappoints me. The atrium has a mega screen that shows special music videos and the selected episodes of receivers of the Hall of Fame. The horror movie section is fantastic! The other regular displays give you some ideas about pop culture. A good place for family and friends to hang out.

The museum was really nice BUT, the restrictions on selfie sticks and cameras with auto flash is over governed. It really feels like, you know when kids are given the power to enforce something? Well imagine a staff of twenty somethings given the autonomy to enforce a unnecessary rule. So, for an exhibits that costs about $30 bucks per person. You watch a documentary movie on Jimi, the Grunge movement, and Marvel Comics and save yourself the hassle.

Family & I have always had fun guaranteed. We are current members & travel from Idaho to make this amongst other well known stops, a must. Love the atmosphere & look forwards to their new exhibits every visit.

It's fun but not worth the price. You fly through everything pretty quick and the music area is always too crowded to experiment on any exhibits. Just kinda Meh about it all. Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so expensive.

My 2nd time coming here. The exhibits are great but this time was quite disappointing. The horror exhibit was completed closed and there was no advertising for this. It was one of the main things we wanted to see. The David Bowie exhibit it sad as it is just pictures. No props like the Nirvana exhibit. All the Hendrix gear was gone too. I love this place...but I hope they step up their game or discount the price when while exhibits are gone.
