For the price to me it s just not worth it... if you re a hard core fan of a certain exhibit, then maybe it will be to you, but so far I ve never spent more than an hour inside and spent more time outside on the playground with my kid or the bar downstairs with friends... the food court across the way under the space needle is definitely worth the visit!!!
This place is pretty awesome!!! My husband and I had so much fun here and some of the exhibits are interactive, definitely worth a visit.
Really fun museum. Our favorites were the horror area and the sound lab. In the sound lab you get to experiment with playing with guitars hooked up to amps, drum kits, guitars and vocals. There's also a gaming area, fantasy, and sci fi area which are pretty cool.
Let yiur inner nerd flow through you has a tone of cool galleries
The staff was pretty rude and you had to pay to see other attractions inside the museum after you already paid so much to get inside. It was cool but not as amazing as I was hoping. I had more fun going the other museums in the area.
Went to the Indulgence 2020 NYE Party and it was amazing! Had a wonderful night, KUBE 93 did a great job hosting with Strawberry and Jenna from the Morning Show!
Visually appealing, but take someone interesting and fun because the exhibits are just ok. Some cool props and old photos, but nothing in depth or exciting.
Great museum with wacky architecture and pretty unique exhibits. Definitely worth it to check it out!
Scary stuff not recommended for youngins. Very fun though.
Pretty cool exhibits, really enjoyed the variety definitely a must see.
Expensive, old uninteresting and uninspired stuff, disappointing (unless you are a Star Trek fanatic)
Bottom line: not worth your dollars.
There are much better experiences around.
Great place to hang inside for a few hours. We really liked the sci-fi and horror exhibits. And the Marvel special exhibit is great.
This place is pretty good and is catered for a specific taste as I did not grow up listening to the musicians that were exhibited. There is however a great range of things to still do like looking at new game development and getting to experience how music is made. The fantasy, sci-fi, and horror exhibits were also very good carrying a lot of memorabilia.
It was truly amazing. There was so much to do and see. The Star Trek exhibit was wonderful. I loved all the interaction.
For the most part it was a nice museum. We liked the movie exhibits the best. The music exhibits were okay. A little hard to Navigate the different floors at first but we got used to it. Staff was okay. If paying to park plan on doing the space Needle too, it is close by.
I loved the horror movie exhibit and Prince exhibit!
Interesting to see the memorabilia from so many movies and bands. It isn't an all day thing, so good to fill some time.
Really very overrated. Not sure what everyone is gushing about. It's great for the first 30 minutes until you realize how empty it is. There is no depth to the exhibits.
I've lived in Seattle for years and I just was able to visit the EMP today. I loved it. The exhibits were great. Especially the new Marvel exhibit. I would caution that it is a bit expensive. For 3 people with the Marvel exhibit extra fee we paid 110$....
Nice interactive museum. Only issue is all the extra cost for the other exhibits.
It was fun, but I had more fun in the park just outside the museum that was free. If you know that there is something you really want to do there, go for it. If you want to go just to check it out, you might be able to skip it.
Star trek exhibit was awesome. Staff was a bit short and unfriendly. Worth the trip. Really enjoyed the horror exhibit and the sci Fi exhibit as well.
Sci Fi, music, video games, excellent setting. Great museum.
So much to look at this place is a definite place to check out
An absolute must for any visitor and Seattleite; architecture by Frank Gehry is one of the most spectacular and stunning in the world. Definitely a must.
Great place and so much to see and explore. We ran so short on time and were mad at ourselves for not getting there sooner before they closed (we thought 7pm but they closed at 5pm due to the time of year). Jimi Hendrix, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and so so so much more to see. Carve out several hours and see everything - even the Marvels Comic exhibit. Definitely recommend this as a stop for your Seattle visit!
Super cool and nostalgia filled trip through several incredibly thorough, well-curated exhibits. I highly recommend anyone come visit!!
There's something to interest everyone here, from fashionistas to music geeks to fantasy nerds.
Good to walk around. They have very clean and fun exhibit.
Enjoyed a few exhibits (Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana & Pearl Jam) but since I dont have kids or enjoy video games a large portion of the exhibits didn't appeal to me.
You get to set your own pace through some of the most relevant relics of popular culture. This was a real treat when the Jim Henson exhibit came through. Looking forward to seeing the next collection.
The experience was nice, but it incredible to sell a small cup of soda or water at $4. Basically u can't buy a can of soda.
Thought there would be more music exhibits other than Pearl Jam & Nirvana.
Great job guys! Keep it up!
Fantasy was my favorite exhibition. You can find original stuff from movies like Harry Potter and Lord of the rings . You can learn much about the prototypes of each magic character category and explore a magic world in a couple hours.
They also gave us a return ticket so we could spend some more hours the next day.
There were also interactive exhibitions like the one with video games, virtual reality and music studios as well. Give it at least two hours time to have a good taste. I also love the unique architecture of the building. Keep in mind that there are many different exhibitions so there is something for every taste. A must visit when in Seattle!
Nirvana, Hendrix, Horror and Sci-fi were all great exhibits. There was a Marvel exhibit (not permanent) that was awesome. The movie props and band memorabilia are excellent. Unfortunately the Pearl Jam exhibit was not open yet.
All a gringada of pop culture. So you like rock, pop, movies and video games, because this is your museum. Incredible architecture of Frank oGehry
Great displays with a lot of interaction. James the bartender in the Wolfgang Puck restaurant is an outstanding bartender and able to come up with amazing drinks
Really interesting and fun, for both kids and adults. The music room is the best, my little brother (7 years old) had a blast and didn't want to leave.
Very interesting place to visit - especially when it's raining
Amazing!!! My family (four 30+ adults and two teen s) spent 4hrs going through all the exhibits before we even realized it! We didn't even look at two of the exhibits due to lack of interest (Nirvana and Jimmi Hendrix) and still spent the entire day having a great time! The Marvel exhibit was great for the comic/superhero nerds on our group (myself included)! We had other plans already made, so we had to leave, but the nephews kept behind to skip the other plans and go back to MoPOP. Highly recommended!! A+++
Interesting and modern thing to check out but personally not amazed
This is always my first stop when I travel to Seattle. I always spend a full day there and continue to find new things to discover.
Great museum, heavily dedicated to music- but plenty for movie and tv fans, also. Check the calendar to make sure the exhibits are not under construction or you miss half the museum
Prepare for Seattle s ultimate nostalgia trip - if you re a music or movie buff this place will fill your whole afternoon. They have a ton of original movie props from some of the most popular movies from the last forty years, alongside some very engaging sets. The music history sections are interesting but the interactive parts aren t that fun - basically it s just karaoke or a drum set you can mindlessly tap on.
Crowded, but worth it. Interactive and informative.
Really expensive for not much interesting stuff. I've seen better stuff at a Hard Rock Cafe. The best part is the interactive area but even that was pretty weak. Waste if time imo. My wife said it was really crappy. Better off going to a real museum. They didn't get many high quality things from the artists and didn't make much effort to get anything significant in their collection.
Possibly the most unique museum experience I've ever had. Gift shop is so cool, as are the art pieces (that towering one made with all the instruments is incredible). Absolutely loved the wings dedicated to local heroes Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix (also heroes of my own, naturally). There's even a room for jamming on drums, bass, guitar, even singing. So much fun stuff to do, can't stress enough what a great experience coming here is.
Awesome place, must-see on the map of Seattle. Many modern exhibitions on movies, sci-fi, grunge, music, pop culture, games, comics (Marvel!), internal cinema, shops with merch and bar. 3-5 hours easily, great memories. All ages.
I absolutely loved it. It had really cool nirvana memorabilia, prince memorabilia, a huge video game section, places to jam out with your friends, and a lot of the coolest exhibits I've ever seen. hands one of the coolest places ive ever been to.
Lots of fun with lots of information and pictures. It was a little upsetting that they have nirvana and peral jam wayyyyy to big and too much info. Half as much would be awsome. I feel like there where a lot more famous people are from Seattle but that's all I got from it was nirvana and pearl jam. But I loved prince, Jimmy Hendricks, and all the rest.
Enjoyed the variety of exhibitions (Nirvana, Hendrix, Horror Film, Sci-fi,Indie games & Music Studio). Hendrix exhibition was smaller than expected but still good. Worth the visit.
Great place to visit if you want to get a side of pop culture history in your day. Recommend people of all ages to experience the MoPop museum exhibit. I would definitely try to go on a week day to avoid crowds since this is a popular tourist destination.
Couldnt figure out how to see the exhibits. Very poorly laid out.
We had a seriously fantastic time here last time we were in Seattle! I highly recommend this place! There was even a lil festival going on in the park outside! So after visiting the really cool museum we got some great grub from a few food trucks! Dinner & Dessert
This is definitely one of the places to check out if you're in Seattle. The exhibitions are always nice and it's genuinely about the music and the history behind it. The area surrounding the museum is also nice to see, especially if you have kids as there are is a big playground with music-related installations outside.
Got there late didn't get to enjoy the way I wanted but there is a lot of history.
Pretty awesome experience and a great place to take visitors. It's a half a day visit given the amount of exhibits. There's a good size collection in the Nirvana exhibit and the horror exhibit.
Awesome exhibits. Get a membership if you can cause there is always something new to see and experience.
I've only been here while performing but the guests can check out other parts of the museum w/out their drinks. Paul Allen devoted so much to Seattle including this venue devoted to music. Security is very tight and they have rules, please respect them. ID for any age is mandatory.
Paul Allen can certainly afford to charge people less for coming in here. Granted, the cinema features in the basement is great, and the overall music exhibits (the Nirvana one) are decent. Their recent Hello Kitty special feature was fun and nostalgic. I just wish their special exhibits and pricing can be lower, so more people can enjoy them.
I took my daughter, who happens to be a musician, while she was out to visit me in Seattle. Jamming in the the sound lab was the best time we've had together in months.
The museum of pop culture was an amazing place. They have enough exibits to keep anyone in the family happy and it is totally worth visiting.
Seattle is a nerdy city. This is a very nerdy museum. I'm a huge nerd, so I think it's awesome (to quote Syndrome: "I'm still geekin' out about it!") But if you're not into sci-fi or fantasy, this museum probably won't have much appeal for you, or at least, you may not think it's worth the price. The exhibits are well put together, they have a lot of pretty cool artifacts, and the guitar tornado is cool, so you'll still get something out of it.
