One of the most interesting places I've ever visited!!!
One of the most interesting places I've ever visited!!!
An always amusing and interesting experience, I love seeing the nirvana exhibit and any of the scifi or fantasy sections!
A lot of exhibits here. But as a millennial, I didn't feel like the pop culture were that recent. I enjoyed walking around the different exhibits but nothing really stood out to me. You can pay a little extra with city pass to look at the marvel exhibit. We didnt opt for that but I'm glad we didn't since the rest of the exhibits weren't that memorable for us.
Fantastic museum and exhibits. Came highly recommended from a friend and walked away agreeing. If you're visiting Seattle, don't miss EMP Museum!
Collection about Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, and Marvel. It's better if Kurt Cobain is made of wax.
Love this place. Great modern art, music and video
Seattle Music exhibit is off the hook! Andy ( Landrew ) Wood sculpture was the best part of my visit!
Only reason not a 5 star a bit pricey. You can spend hours here. Great experience.
Great exhibits of Seattle music culture as well as sci fi movies.
This place is awesome! Great SciFi and excellent Horror displays...Fantasy also very cool. Prince, or the artist formerly known as, and Guitar exhibit fun to see. Sound Lab was a fantastic opportunity to experience playing guitar, drums, keyboard, vocals... Or jam in sound proof booths, even if you haven't played before. There's more also... They were preparing for a private event for tonight and I thought that would make for a great party!
The exhibits were awesome. Set aside a lot if time for this place, you will not be disappointed. It is really surprising how much they have on display. Special exhibits come through regularly as well. If your going to see the Needle, you could hardly be excused for passing up this gem, just a short walk away. Highly recommend.
Fun museum. There is one floor dedicated to small rooms where you can have your own jamming sessions... guitar, keyboard, vocals...
Such a fun museum! The sound lab on the second floor is awesome. They have recording studios where you can play the drums, guitar, and keyboards. I sat in the lobby for over an hour watching SkyChurch - a larger than IMAX theatre screen with awesome acoustics and lights. Lots to things to interact with. Take the monorail to get there instead of driving and paying for parking. If you're a tourist, I highly suggest getting a City Pass, and checking out other highlights within walking distance.
Very interesting exhibits. Especially if you're into Jimi Hendrix or the Seattle scene.
I love being a tourist in the city I live in. If you live here or are just visiting go to the museum. It is so freaking cool. They have different featured exhibits throughout the year. There are a lot of interactive exhibits like the sound lab. They always have something new to experience like the Holodome. Ah! I love it so much.
So cool! Wish the Hendrix exhibit wasn't traveling but oh well!
Great Seattle grunge history. Could have a few more local bands. Cool sifi
raised prices for GA and an additional 8 bucks to see the star wars exhibition. complete rip off, don't waste your money.
Plan to be there for at least 3 hours. I personally would have loved to spend more time to explore every nook and cranny of the museum. Remember to buy tickets online to save you a few bucks!
Really spacious and full of interesting content. I feel like we barely scratched the surface.
If you get a chance to see the Marvel exhibition, do so! Well worth it for even the casual fan. Incredible museum.
One of the best museums I've been to. I could spend hours there.
A Seattle must visit. The guitar sculpture and collection alone are amazing. Depending on when you go they also have exhibits like sci-fi, horror, fantasy, indie games, and Star Trek. Definitely somewhere to go at least once. It'll probably give you a solid 1 - 2 hours of fun depending on how interested you are in this kinda thing.
Such a wonderful time spent with family. Something for all.
Truly impressive collection of permanent collections and exhibits that showcase American Pop Culture over the past century.
Many of the exhibits are even interactive!
Super cool visit! Awesome fun to check this out while in town. Always worth it, highly recommend it.
You can literally spend all your day here, rainy weather won't be a problem when you have cool places like this. They have permanent exhibits of most representative local musicians and the coolest place to play music yourself!
One of my favorite activities I experienced in Seattle. Takes a lot of time to see all it has to offer.
There's always something interesting going on here, and love the indie games exhibition!
Exhibits for every age. The horror and sci fi section alone are worth it. Spent way too much time jamming in the music section. Would definitely get a pass if I lived closer.
I was skeptical about this museum since I'm not really into pop culture but I'm so glad I put it on my list. The Pop Culture museum is 3 levels of awesomeness!! It gives a unique look at modern culture through the lenses of art, fashion, music, and film. I particulalry enjoyed the Prince tribute and the Jimmy Hendrix tribute. The Woodstock documentary and soundtrack accompaniment was really cool as well. Being that I'm a huge nerd I loved the science fiction hall of fame and the world of mystery and fantasy honing in on the more mythical aspects of literature, gaming, and film. The third floor even has a live sound lab where you can test your skills out on live instruments or record some of your own tunes. You cant take them with you but you can learn from the experience. I was in here 4 hours and still felt like I didn't fully delve into all of the exhibits. Make sure you alot plenty of time for this place because there is tons to read, hear, and see.
Participated in the 2018 SCA Coffee Expo Official Opening Party. Overwhelmed and fascinated by the great space. It was the best choice for the party.
I love this place. I take all my out of towner friends and family here. Plus I visit it every few months myself. I love music and this place is just full of fun.
It's very interesting it has a new star trek exhibit with a lot of the original props it also has a video game area where you can play and learn about how there made and the have a horror exhibit downstairs with many original props from many famous horror movie's and a music and arts area with fashion and several working recording studio's it's well worth the trip.
If you are on Seattle and only have time to visit out tourist attraction, this is not a bad choice.
Paul Allen is so much a part of what makes Seattle magical. Just like chocolate popcorn !
Lots of great exhibits. My kids particularly loved the sound lab. We ended up purchasing a membership because we are definitely going back. Great museum!
An awesome experience for people of all ages. There are several exhibit locations from Wizardry, Science Fiction, Horror, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Prince, and others. The place is fun with plenty to look at. A visitor can spend several hours at the museum looking at all of the features. Plenty of people visist so patience is important. The Seattle rail has a stop at the museum. Prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly and there is plenty of food.
An interesting visual experience, but really wished there was more information about the musicians and their place in history beyond the fan paraphernalia. The special exhibition made the visit worth it, but not sure it was worth the up charge.
My fiance and I were surprised at the number and familiarity of the movie props. Fabulous.
This museum is primarily for science fiction/ pop culture buffs. If you love media, including music and movies, this place is for you. It's incredibly unique with a rotating exhibit structure. Some things are always the same but some exhibits change every time you go. If you're looking for something different, look no further!
This museum is an absolute must visit in Seattle. Not only does it cater to Nirvana and Hendrix fans, it has so much more!
Amazing museum full if pop culture. Go before the Star Trek exhibit is gone.
This was one of our favorite attractions in Seattle. So many cool pop culture exhibits. Muppets, Star Trek, Music, David Bowie...I am not sure we even saw it all, but our kids still talk about it and enjoyed all the interactive exhibits.
Interesting stuff here if you are into star wars, Terminator, Marvels though I found 34 Dollars to be on the higher side.
Great Entertainment, great displays, long and slow lines.
Very cool experience! Marvel exhibit is a must see.
Decent displays and presentations. The Jim Henson exhibition was great. Recommendation: only go if there is an exhibit you are obsessed with. Star trek etc.
One of my favorite places to go. I have been a member for years and always enjoy it.
The fantasy exhibit exploring archetypes is fantastic.
This is definetly a museum for those who are into muisc and fans of things like this. It's really cool and on the top floor u can practice and learn to play the drums guitar and piano. There are multiple areas to listen to albums with headphones they provide. Took me and my wife about 25 mins to walk thru and see anything but if we were more interested in this type of stuff I think we would of been here longer. Definetly get the Seattle pass to save some money and enjoy the other free exhibits u get with it.
A one of a kind museum, it's a pop culture museum full of everything you wanted to see. I fell in love after my first visit and now I'm a permanent carded member.
Loads of exhibits. I could spend a lot more time here
The place is art in itself. Marvel exhibit, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Horror movie, small video game exhibit, Hendrix, and sci-fi exhibits. cool stuff. Be sure to get the actual City Pass to save $.
Great place to bring the kids or guests from out of town. There's something for everyone including an immersive, floor to ceiling music video experience, an interactive sound lab to learn and play instruments, and a video game exhibit with a variety of genres for young and old. The gift shop isn't as exciting as a MOMA but its more affordable. Featured exhibits are expertly curated, past exhibits include Star Wars and Hello Kitty.
Fantastic day at a fantastic museum. They have all aspects of pop culture covered. Movies, music, games, and horror. They have awesome. Highlights are the Star Trek exhibit, the musical instrument exhibit where you can learn and jam with other people, and the Sci-fi exhibit where you can view props and costumes from classic movies and TV. They look so much different on the screen. The museum has many interactive exhibit where you can be photographed or filmed. One more highlight is the teleporter fron Star Trek. Very cool. Check it out.
MoPop had some amazing props from the most popular horror, SciFi and fantasy movies in modern film. The Holodome was very interesting but will cost you extra
Amazing museum! I just had one hour, but if i could, I would spend there whole day!
Horror exhibit was terrifying. Highly recommend it.
Has some cool exhibits but kinda confusing to navigate. A guide app would be perfect.
Had a blast here seeing all the movie props and music icons can't wait to do a return visit very soon!
Not really sure how Hello Kitty fits into the museum. It almost felt like it was a Hello Kitty store
This was a really interesting experience, so much fun on our honeymoon. Definitely block out a couple hours to take it all in.
Wasn't planning on going here originally but so happy I did! Each room has such a different feel that is so hard to capture on camera
