I always tell people "If you're in Seattle, you MUST go to the Museum of Pop Culture" A trip to Seattle isn't complete without a visit. It's an incredible experience, and it's right by the space Needle.

Museum of Pop Culture, formerly EMP, is housed in an unique piece of architecture. Inside it manages to be both a family friendly activity (there are games to play, buttons to push, small hidden secrets to discover) and an impressive archive of storytelling and music! Easily spent 3 hours roaming the museum. Between all the exhibits there was something for everyone.

This is probably one of the best museum experiences I've had. It is more affordable when using the citipass coupon, and paying the extra fee for the Marvel exhibit is worth it if you enjoy Marvel comics/movies.

The sci-fi and horror movie exhibits we're pretty cool, tho there wasn't as many artifacts as I would have hoped. The comic book display was also interesting, though again, fewer artifacts than hoped.

This museum has a ton of interactive exhibits and is great nostalgia and knowledge for folks of any generation. I've seen both young and old people and everyone in between gaze in wonder at the exhibits.

Museum was a cool place to visit. Numerous things to see especially from well known movies. My favorite part was playing with the musical instruments and getting a few small lessons. Also trying out the video games.

Great experience, will go back next time we're in town! We got the most out of a quick visit with 4 kids under 6. We probably went to half the exhibits. It was great taking our eldest to the horror exhibit, super fun!!

The cool thing is there's a lot of hands on things you can mess with. I personally thought it was too much for what it is & I got a military discount so I paid 22 dollars for myself. There was a big section closed off as well so that should've been discounted off of our purchase . It's basically a lot of props used in movies & by musicians with a huge TV & a cool playground outside

If you are interested in pop culture, you'll easily be satisfied by this place. Declined the Minecraft exhibit but there was more than enough to enjoy.

The music portion is heavily Seattle-influenced (obviously why) but gives a good depth understanding of the bands and what made them successful. Constantly changing exhibits in regards to this.

There are exhibitions for horror, fantasy and sci-fi that are very amusing with very authentic displays of costumes and props.

It does cost $30 to get in, but it's worth it if you are looking for something unusual and have a few hours to kill.

This museum is AMAZING! My favorite section is the music section, although there are many other attractions here. The customer service is fantastic and the museum is neat and tidy. I've seen different attractions in the times I've come so I would imagine that the museum rotates the different parts of culture. I learned alot about music and alot about how pop culture affects everyday life. I'm looking forward to returning in 2020.

This has always been one of my favorites since I was little! The exhibits are always interesting and different every time I visit. I almost get sense of being a kid again walking through the enourmous stucture. The building itself is such a wonderful piece of art. There's something here for everyone from movie props to outfits and instuments used by some of the most influential rock musicians in the Pacific Northwest. Kids will love the "sound lab" that has all sorts of instruments to play with. I think anyone who visits will not leave feeling dissapointed.

Pearl Jam display was phenomenal. Disappointing that most of Hendrix memorbilia is on tour. Extent of Paul Allen's collectiom is impressive. Price seems a bit high. Was it not free in the beginning. Parking next door was an atrocious $26. Try surface streets?

Amazing experience! All of the exhibits were super cool and there was so much to see and do, be sure to check out the interactive jamming room to try your hand at recording a song! We really loved the StarTrek exhibit :)

We came especially to see the Marvel Heros exhibit and it didn't disappoint! A great collection of original prints, movie costumes and props and lots of historical information gave greater insight into the inspiration & creative work of Stan Lee and his team. With interactive elements this is something ages 12 and up will really enjoy, but those born in the 60s and 70s will really enjoy the nostalgic audio & video clips.

Loved the Sci-Fi and Horror sections of the museum, however, not much else was of real interest. As a gamer, even the indie games section was not very interesting. I can only speak from my exoerience and interests.

We spent the entire day there. Tons to see and very interactive. Our son had a blast. Music centers have him a great experience playing drums, keyboards and guitars. Makes learning fun. Highly recommended for anyone remotely interested in music.

They also had a cool exhibit about horror movies and the history of them. Cool props from them as well as a great sci-fi exhibit. Kids were having a blast in there.

It's a lot more than a cool looking building.

It was wonderful! The museum is super interactive, full of games and musical instruments that you can quietly make a sound and experience. It has a very interesting collection of Nirvana and memories of Kurt Cobain, I really enjoyed it. Important detail: You can shoot as long as without flash. Super indication.

Great museum that will surprise you. Shouldn't be missed when visiting Seattle. Numerous movie props and exhibits organized in a fun and interesting manner. Family was pleasantly surprised.

While spending the day in Seattle , I had time to to kill and the EMP museum offered a number of great exhibits that were unique and fun to explore! Just a few steps from the base of the space needle, this museums exterior is somewhat "dream-like" in appearance, and it has something to offer for all age groups at a reasonable price. They even have a music making section of the museum where visitors are encouraged to play the array of instruments they have with an option to record themselves to have a nice memento from the visit.

Great place to learn about Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana, among others. The museum is very modern and well laid out. The interactive rooms are fantastic, you can jam with real instruments there. Sci-fi exhibits also good to see.

Went on a whim. The music side was great for me, and I really loved all the exhibits. The science/fantasy collection s aren't as deep as the music collections, but we're still very good

This museum just has a bunch of weird and random stuff crammed together and labeled, and only 1 out of 100 of the things in there were actually cool. Nothing in there was particularly eye catching. Just remarkably unremarkable.

We spent most of the day here, exploring the different exhibits. Great variety for all ages, thorough Nirvana exhibit (my favorite), fun interactive music and video game exhibits also. The Wolfgang Puck cafe and bar had decent food and drinks as well. So glad we made this part of our trip to Seattle!

Awesome memorabilia from music, television and movies. Saw guitars played by some of my favorite artists, props and costumes from some of my favorite TV shows and movies from the past. I thought it was awesome and it was cool enough to keep the kids interested too.

I didn't get a chance to visit the Museum of Pop Culture but spent quite a while looking at the amazing architecture. What an absolutely amazing place. I could stand and stare here for ages.

I've seen Frank Gehry's buildings in New York and elsewhere - but this one is even more amazing than all of them. Worth a visit, even if just to look at the building which is a real wonder, like no other place I've seen.

Nice place for different things.
Jimi Hendrix music room is good to see.
When I was there I saw Battlestar Galactica on display.
Lots of guitars on display.

Great place to re-live your past (if you are in that age range), but also a great place to bring the family. We went specifically to see the Marvel event (which is well worth the trip), but enjoyed the rest of the Museum as well. Only knocked a star off because the only food inside MoPop is the Wolfgang Puck eatery, and not only are the prices outrageous, but the line was continuously 30 to 40 minutes. Do yourself a favor a walk around the corner towards the Space Needle...many more options.

Loved this place so much that we blew off our other plans and spent the whole day there until they kicked us out at closing! The Kurt Cobain and Jimi exhibits were highlights, but the whole museum is great, and all of the music and videos that you can call up on demand are a fantastic component to the experience. The lunch we had in the cafe was good, too. What a great, fun day!

So many diverse and interesting exhibits to see here. Everyone from our 4 year old to 44 year old enjoyed their time here. Everything from Nirvana & Prince to Mario Brothers & Star Wars are in here. One of the engaging areas was the sound lab where you get hands on tutorials on a variety of instruments & ways to create music. The free playground outside the museum was the hit with all the kids as well. Worth stopping by before you leave.

If your REALLY into music this place is for you. If your kinda into music, you will probably see a few things that you like but will be angered by the ridiculous amount of people with no concept of personal space.

This was a very fun place. We went as part of the city pass tour. Pleasantly surprised by how immersive and informative the exhibits we're, something for everyone from movies to music and more. Each exhibit had something interactive to do and photo ops. Would recommend to all.
