Emigrant Bank Review

I was speaking with an accountant name Lila matos and I felt she was highly disrespectful and unprofessional. I dislike the way she spoke to me and treated me as if I was less than her. She came off as if she was under influence of marijuana. Her eyes where very low which is a surprise because I would expect being in the field she works in and the status of the company I would have been treated much better as a customer. I am truly disappointed and aggrivated how a person can make you feel as less of an equal by judging the way one person image is.

I just finished filing a complaint with BBB. We had over $4500.00 deposited in an online banking account at Emigrant Direct, a division of Emigrant bank. We have not been able to add money to that account for a few years, however we thought our little nest egg was safe with this bank. In February 2019, I logged into our account and the balance was $0.00. I contacted Emigrant bank and the employee I spoke with said that since our account didn t have activity for 3 years the $4500.00 was sent to Comptroller of the State of Maryland s office. We completed the paperwork required by the state comptroller and waited 3 months. We received a check for less than $200.00 from the state. We are devastated. Our nest egg is gone. Emigrant Bank robbed us.

THE MOST HORRIBLE BANK IMAGINABLE!

This bank is trying to rob me of my inheritance. They are nasty and unreasonable and impossible to deal with. I've been trying to get my inheritance for a long time and they always have an excuse.

They are thieves. Stay away from these scoundrals.

I've been a customer of Emigrant Direct, which is a subsidiary of Emigrant Bank. They have a "bait and switch" tactic that is widely known, where they advertise that they have the best interest rates for savings, and then once you establish an account, they quietly drop your rate to well below the best rates. For instance, the current APY is less than a third of what other banks are offering.

Very beautiful building, extremely nice, professional, helpful and polite personnel.
