El Patron mexican restaurant Review

We used to love the buffet here but the last few times the food has been dry and overcooked. Its nice that its been recently remodeled but please dont lose your food standards

Food was great, portions are large. The mango habanero Margarita was so yummy, we got the pitcher.

We have not found bomb Mexican in Orlando yet, this place was ok I suppose, nothing impressive though.

This is a perfectly fine Mexican restaurant choice. No real criticism to offer other than the prices seem a little on the high side. My guess is the proximity to Disney is the reason. The food was tasty but not spectacular. Portion size was good too. The oddest thing was the chips and salsa, they serve you a basket of whole tortillas and you need to break them up.

The best I've had outside of Mexico!!! Amazing. The best salsa and the chimichanga was amazing.

Food was OK....not great. The chips were difficult to eat as they were very hard and thick. The waiter was hard to hear (he was a low talker) and I got refried beans instead of black beans that were ordered. The place was nice in appearance, and it wasn't terrible....but like I said, not great. I would not eat there again.

My wife and I have eaten here a few times and it was GREAT! The happy hour margaritas were a pleasant surprise, flavorful and actually had a reasonable amount of tequila in them. The pork belly taco is to die for, tender and great taste.
The staff has always been great, very friendly and attentive. The location is close enough to the parks to be convenient, but without the parking issues ant many of the restaurants in the area.
Overall, the best Mexican food in the Orlando area in my opinion.

Best Mexican food in Orlando! The chimichangas were very good but the delce de leche with the churros is the best thing I've ever eaten in my life!

Terrible! Empty at 5 pm on a Friday should have been a clue. Margarita was pure alcohol. Tortillas were store bought and stale. Food was microwaved brought to table 10 min after ordering
Fajitas were chewy and burned. Grossest food I have ever eaten. My son likes their French fries though. Nice waitress. Sorry but just don't go.

Great flavors! Their white rice and black beans are vegan as well add the corn tortillas. I wish they had more vegan options.

Worth these two items and price was fair in addition to service ; authentic sauces but horchata wasn't on point as I would have assumed but everyone has their own flavors. Deff would come back for these two again !!

The service was beyond amazing, specially to Monserrat who was really amazing and extra attentive to a large party. Monserrat was very professional and kept constant attention on us while serving other tables. The food was a great bang for your buck....

My family of 6 and I ate at your restaurant. My husband and I both got drinks that the menu stated came with a glass to keep. However, upon asking our waiter for our souvenir glasses, we were told the promotion had ended. It is quite unprofessional for a promo to end before you change out the menus. My husband and I wouldn t have gotten such large drink had we not seen the promotion in your menu. And this was after he and I both stated to our waiter that we want the size that allowed us the souvenir glass.

Food was phenomenal, but the service and the lack of being given what we were promised left us a bit off especially after having eaten here before and receiving said souvenir glasses.

We dined kind of late in the evening but they were very busy. It was quite loud and our server was busy with decent size groups while we were there.

This restaurant was a split food review for our family.

The "chips" and salsa were different but it was pretty good.

The enchiladas were exactly what my son wanted and my oldest daughter loved her burrito. My husband (who always orders fajitas and almost never complains) had fajitas and said it wasn't very good. My youngest and I shared an appetizer plate; some parts of it were good and others not so much.

We ordered one fried ice cream to share, as it's our Mexican food tradition. It was very different. I'm not sure what flavor of ice cream it was but it was coated in coconut and it just wasn't like any fried ice cream we've ever had. I don't personally recommend it.

The service wasn't great but I think our server did what he could.

We had the buffet. It had good variety and was very good food. The kids menu had stuff for our picky eaters to.

Always wonder when trying a new mexican restaurant. But this was a pleasant suprise. The Queso dip comes in a edible chip bowl which is the reason for the 8$ price had a nice garnish. burrito was huge. place was a little understaffed at the time our waitress was the bartender (awesome sangria) she bussed 5 tables when others had 2 and she worked the bar. she was awesome and the food was good. fancy exterior decent inside. next to steak n shake. give it a try its way cheaper than disney food.

Very good tacos and fresh tortilla chip with roast tomatoes salsa.

Good tasting, appetizers a little too expensive. Nachos are mostly leaves and vegies.

Buffet food cold and dried out. Staff started clearing steam table and tortillas while guests were still eating. They should have closed the buffet to new arrivals and kept it open for current guests.

READ BEFORE GOING - IT S A TRAP.

This many reviews and over 4 stars it must be great Mexican, or so we thought. Service was good. Came in after long day at the parks and just wanting to eat near our hotel. We ordered Flautas, a kids meal, and Enchiladas. The food was literally at the table before I got back from the bathroom. Bad sign, but we ate.

1. Enchiladas came with white rice and black beans (Mexican?). The rice wasn t cooked that day and must of been reheated. Definitely old.
2. The sauce on the Enchiladas had to be from a can OR just perhaps frozen and reheated and definitely wasn t fresh.
3. Kids meal rice had peas in it and also came with black beans. Again Mexican??

The only thing semi decent was my beer and the flautas (with the exception of the sauce for them which was also lacking).

Honestly I had high hopes and was extremely disappointed. I paid my check and then asked for the manager just to let him know I wasn t looking for a handout but the food was extremely disappointing for almost $50. He said thank you. My meal at Chick-fil-a last night for my entire family was under $30 and far more satisfying. I don t mind paying for quality, but this isn t that.

I ve got to say based on the experience and number of reviews, is this a trap? Fake reviews? I don t know but I d never go back and I d urge anyone thinking of going to find their meal elsewhere. I don t even like Chipotle but I d honestly rather have gone there.

To the owner, if the reviews are real. You need to address some big issues with your kitchen. Maybe this place needs to go up on one of those Gordon Ramsay shows.

Anyone near Disney Orlando needs to eat here. The lunch buffet is outstanding at a value that can't be beat. We also ate dinner here and again the food, margaritas, and staff were fantastic. We will eat here whenever in Orlando!

We tried this restaurant on Father's day, not knowing what to expect. We are really happy we did! The service was great and the food was terrific! I wasn't sure how the food was going to be, so I ordered an appetizer to set my expectations. They have a triple dip appetizer that the 4 of us split (2 adults and two young teen girls). It was not gigantic, but it was Very tasty. It had guacamole (simple and fresh, like my wife makes it), queso dip, and a fruity salsa (mango, etc). Loved all 3! The chips were fresh and crispy and they also brought the table salsa - a bit spicy for my young one, but full of flavor. Youngest got kids meal of chicken tenders - nothing to write home about. She also go a side of refried beans - totally reminded me of my grandmother's beans in Texas, she always had a pot of them on the stove. Other daughter got a taco salad with skirt steak - great meat flavor, bog crispy bold of ribbon cut salad. My wife and I split 2 dishes - carnitas tacos (comes with refried beans and yellow rice) and enchiladas suizas with shredded chicken (comes with black beans and white rice). WOW! The enchiladas were super! Super tender and moist shredded chicken, cheese, verde sauce - terrific! The tacos were great as well! Tender, moist meat and fresh toppings with handmade soft corn tortillas. We really liked it and will go back again when we are in Orlando. The prices are not cheap, like Taco Bus, but they are a bit cheaper than most Disney establishments. Cost was about $12 or $13 per plate on average - Definitely worth it!

Wow! Had a great buffet lunch today. They have safety procedures for a great bufet. And their hot salsa, while quite hot, was very flavorful. Their dessert selection was nice, excellent flan! I loved the black beans, and the shredded chicken. Our server, Carolina was wonderful, she told us that everthing is house made, from the mole (not on the buffet today), tortillas, flan, cookies and more! It isn't a giant buffet, and selections change daily she said, but there was 2 types of chicken, and several different pork and beef offerings. Also some great veggies! We will go back!

Tasty homestyle Mexican food and friendly atmosphere

Went there on a whim while visiting Orlando. I had a burrito and my Boyfriend had the Red Snapper. The food was delicious especially the snapper. Our waiter Sal was friendly and attentive. If we lived closer we would be regular customers, especially if we had the same waiter each time.

Please Ottawa Canada. Bring an el patron restaurant north of the boarder. Mexican lunch buffet !!!! What's not to like fresh and delicious. I recommend all snow birds coming to orlando to hit this for lunch !

Fantastic Mexican restaurant!!! This was our first time here! We had dinner here to celebrate my cousin's birthday! The atmosphere is great! The staff was friendly! Hector was our server and did a great job!! The food came out quick and was fresh and delicious!!! I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the area!!! Give it a try!! You will not be disappoint!!

The family and I ate here last night. The menu was not of a typical Mexican restaurant and is limited. However the food was really good, but like others said the service was horrible. I couldn t get refills on our drinks because my lady server was not anywhere to be found and when it was time to Pay it took her forever to come back to us. I paid with a credit card and right when i completed payment with the device it popped up asking about a survey. The waitress took it from my hand before I could put poor. When we walked out I could see her giving herself the review. Unbelievable
