So much fun. It is not as large as other zoo's I've been to but it was a ton of fun. We went on a Friday morning. There was no wait and the weather was perfect. The animals seemed well cared for. Will definitely go back.

Although it's small the El Paso zoo is well worth visiting once they finish the expansion I'm certain it will be that much more enjoyable, the prices are very reasonable and there is a small water park style area where kids and adults can cool off

Pretty lame zoo. Most of the animals were gone or asleep. It was a dirty place. The staff only spoke Spanish, and we don't know Spanish. I feel they did speak English but chose no to speak English. I wouldn't go back.

Food and drinks inside are a little pricey, but you can take your own stuff and it is a great place for your family over all. The playground and splash pond are awesome Nd the staff is friendly and helpful. Over all an educational and enjoyable experience

I love to take the kids here. The new flash flood simulator was amazing, and comes in handy on hot days! Coming in on the new toll road also made for an enjoyable experience with a lot less traffic. The only thing I would improve or change is hiring police officers to work the front gate along with the security officers.

Im not one of those "save all the animals" people but this was a very sad experience! It's understandable that the animals can be a little torn up but the larger animals such as the giraffes and the elephants seam neglected. I HIGHLY doubt that an ENTIRE cardboard box is part of an Elephants diet. Yes, I watched an elephant eat a whole cardboard box. It was awful! There are definitely a few pluses but for the most part I don't think anyone wants to go to the zoo and see some pretty disturbing things. I won't be returning and neither will any of my friends and family.

Really great park! Awesome exhibits, great animals, and awesome staff! When driving here you can see The X 90% of the drive although you can't see it from the Zoo.

When driving it is really confusing because you never know when you have to take the exit! But otherwise it is a great place!

We love this zoo. We received a free year pass from ACS and we want at least 2 times a month. It maybe small but my kids loved it. My only problem is only one time did we see the male sea lion trainer and he was the best. Sushi was my kids favorite reason for going and as we went the trainers seemed to make the show more and more bland and unappealing. The man was very good with the crowd and sushi. Plenty to do. My youngest was typically done after 4 hours once it hit nap time but my oldest could have went for hours. They loved the train, gift shop was not to badly priced but I mean it is a gift shop. We went to almost all the events. Just a great little place to go with the family or anyone really. We have since moved and really miss having this get away on the weekends. When we left they were adding attractions so I hope it has only improved!

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I have done a lot of zoos. My favorite is the New Orleans Zoo which one needs an entire day to see
The El Paso Zoo is located a few paces from the Mexican border. They offer military and senior citizens discounts.
You have never been hot until you are El Paso hot. That's why the devil left. Lol!
It's a great bang for the buck. I only had one frown and it's not the entrance fee. If you go on a week day, you can have the splash pad to yourself.
We let the kids get wet in their clothes.
Don't worry! Here one dries really fast.
The bird show was worth the admission by itself and the keepers stop to answer questions.
This is a must do. Suggest that you go in the morning, as it's really hot there.

Went during the week- Lions not out, sea lion (only 1 in tank and it's eye looked sore) show not available, no feeding giraffes, and the little gift shop had someone out front because there were too many people inside and they had to stop people from going in. Saw someone pick up a wallet and not hand it in. Half way through there were police cars out front and police walking through the place but no one said why. Not that this had any thing to do with the zoo itself, but I'm big on "Learn English if you're in the US," and every sign was doubled in Spanish. It was a decent zoo, but I wouldn't go back.

They are making it better. They remodeling it, scheduled to be finished on 2019. If you have kids make sure to take them bathing suits, they will love to get wet. At the moment you can also feed the giraffe for $3 each person.

As a San Diego native, it is hard for me to review any other zoo, but I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the zoo is in El Paso. They have a great variety of animals, kept in fairly large habitats. I'm not a fan of looking at animals that appear unhappy, so I was pleased to see the animals enjoying their habitats.

They have a great splash pad for the kids, as well as a tree house playground. My kids (4 & 9) love to play here for hours. The only reason I took away a star is because the customer service is lackluster, and the food options are fairly limited. Luckily, you are allowed to bring your own food and drink.

For an extra fee you can ride a small train around part of the zoo, or feed a giraffe. Both are very fun, and worth the small extra cost.

Smaller zoo. I did the whole zoo with my mom in about 3 hours, but with kids it might be an all day event. Good date spot or place to take the kids for a day. Interesting exhibits and bugfest was also really cool!

The place is terrible. The vendors selling g food dont know how to give back the correct change. The animals are either sleeping or there are empty spots with overgrown grass and weeds.

The birds and amphibians are the nicest areas of the zoo. I also liked the merry go round. The train is also my fav but again the animals aren't really visible.

There was a cat display that made me so sad because the cats looked super thin, their bones were showing and they had little babies. I think maybe the zoo needs to be shut down. The animals dont look happy or cared for. In my opinion. They look sick

Awesome Zoo! Not very large but great for its size! Stunning landscaped. Animal habitats looked well maintained and the animals looked heathly. The train that goes around the zoo is pretty neat. The exhibits that are available are really nice. They have some cool interactive exhibits, where the kids can get real close to the animals within their habitats.

Traveled here from Florida. Not the biggest. But they are doing a lot of construction. It was sad to see how small of a habitat the leopards/cheetahs were living in. There were 2 of them in a slim cage no bigger than a bathroom. Hopefully they're building larger habitats for the bigger animals. Some of the animals are alone which is sad. Will not be returning to this zoo.

There was a massive remodeling taking place, so that along with the winter weather had quite a few exhibits closed, but yet & still this was one of the best zoo experiences I can say my family and I have had! The animals were so interactive, it was almost as if we were the exhibits and they were checking us out! The Western Diamondback Rattlesnake came from the back of its enclosure to get face to face with us as well as most of the other animals. Excellent zoo, top notch!!

About El Paso Zoo

The El Paso Zoo is a popular destination for animal lovers and families looking for a fun day out. Located on 35 acres of land, the zoo is home to a diverse range of animals from different parts of the world, including Africa, America, Asia, and the Chihuahuan Desert. With its commitment to conservation and education, the El Paso Zoo offers visitors an opportunity to learn about wildlife while having fun.

One of the unique features of the El Paso Zoo is its focus on animals from the Chihuahuan Desert region. This area covers parts of Mexico and southwestern United States and is known for its arid climate and unique flora and fauna. The zoo has several exhibits that showcase animals from this region such as Mexican wolves, prairie dogs, desert bighorn sheep, and mountain lions.

In addition to desert animals, visitors can also see exotic creatures like African elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras as well as Asian tigers at the zoo. The exhibits are designed to mimic natural habitats so that visitors can observe these magnificent creatures up close in an environment that closely resembles their natural habitat.

Apart from viewing animals in their habitats at close quarters; there are many other activities available at El Paso Zoo which makes it an ideal place for family outings or school trips. Visitors can take part in interactive experiences such as feeding giraffes or birds; attend educational talks by zookeepers who share interesting facts about various species; watch live animal shows featuring sea lions or birds-of-prey; ride on a train around the park or even have birthday parties with special packages offered by them.

The El Paso Zoo also has several conservation programs aimed at protecting endangered species both locally and globally. These programs include breeding programs for endangered species like Mexican gray wolves which were once extinct in Texas but now have been reintroduced into their native habitat through successful breeding efforts by zoos like this one.

Another program run by them focuses on educating people about wildlife conservation issues such as poaching or habitat destruction through workshops held throughout year where experts share information about how we can all help protect our planet's biodiversity.

Overall if you're looking for a fun-filled day out with your family while learning something new then look no further than The El Paso Zoo! With its wide range of animal exhibits showcasing creatures from around world along with interactive experiences available throughout park - there's something here everyone will enjoy!
