It is not a huge zoo, but it still has a variety of animals. Also they have a mini train ride. And ice creams stops on each corner. There is a big tree house play ground with the Asian look. And a fountain splash park. It is a great spot for kids to play. We loved it.

So over priced for a such small and uncared place. Staff don't seem like care about their animal at all. A lot of discoloration on the elephant and many animals are out in the sun while their staff are inside an air-conditioning room. Bird cage was unsupervised, a lot people would open both doors at seen time, not even bother to read the sign that's written in both English and Spanish!!!! Activity room are uncared for. The sea lion is swimming by himself in a tank that's not even lager than my house, not even a shaded area for him to stay on and rest. This is just a heart broken place. Zoo is suppose to be a place you teach children love and care for animals, not just money making.

Zoo was not what I was hoping for... One of the Mexican Grey Wolf was skinny and really looked like it was in a lot of pain..Same thing with the tiger.. don't want to miss lead this place, but animals may be just old.. And never saw the Giraffe or Hippo.. The staff was very Professional and Courteous.. My high light of this place was the Massive Tortoise..

I was excited to go to the zoo with my kids but it was a huge waste of time and money. There were hardly any animals at all. I had 4 very disappointed kids. You can t really call it a zoo when there are no animals. When we paid to get in, the gal said the zebras were out but how are you not going to have an indoor exhibit to see them if you know they are put away a lot. I ve been to several zoos around the country and I would say to save your money and go to a real zoo.

A wonderful day at the zoo. Nice facilities and the caretakers are wonderful folks. They truly care about the animals and they provide for them exceptionally well. Many times a day you can get up close and personal with the caretakers and the animals. The caretakers are very knowledgeable and explain what they do with the animals. A very nice attraction in El Paso.

It was a great experience for a small zoo. Several different animals you wouldn't see at a normal big city zoo. We went right as they opened and it was cool outside and not too crowded. Thumbs up from this family!

Decent. We went when it was quite hot out so the animals were all resting in the shade and hard to see. We hung around until they started feeding them so we could actually see some of them. As to be expected drinks and such was expensive but many people had wagons with coolers. Part if it was under construction.

Love going here, this zoo is very forward thinking in allowing animals near extinction or somewhere on the endangered listing to thrive for replacement back into their habitats. Fun for the whole family and they're still developing new areas so plenty to see. Get a membership and enjoy this place many times!

This is a must see in El Paso! The El Paso Zoo is a great day trip for adults and kids. Tickets are reasonably priced and they actually have a lot of animals. There is a nice playground for any child ages 2-12 and they have a small train that gives an exclusive look at some of exhibits for a little extra cost. Overall, I was impressed with the zoo the handful of times I've gone, A+

What a treasure! I hadn't been to the zoo in years. The animals and enclosures are in great shape. Even on hot days, its a dry heat and it feel nice with the shade they have from the trees. Splash pad for the kids.

The zoo is always a pleasant place to spend time, especially when you have children. In addition to the main attraction (the animals) there is research station where children can learn more about conservation and the African savannah. Also they have a play area with slides, a splash pad in the summer, and a small train ride around a portion of the park (using the train is an additional charge). The zoo keepers have certain schedules where they are there to show the animals to the public and answer questions as well as some live feedings and exhibitions. I would recommend this place highly to other families.

The Zoo was amazing! I loved it. Just as one loves a puppy thats just out of the womb. With its little puppy head and puppy feet, walking all wobbly making cute little antics and noises as it explores its new found life...

The El Paso Zoo is okay if you've never been to another zoo. The saddest part of this place is the elephant exhibit; they are such smart and social creatures, why are they swaying and all alone in such a tiny space?

Such a huge change from the past few years! Once the chihuahuan desert opened up, the zoo looked amazing. The jungle gym was a huge hit with my 2 kids. One area for children 4 and under and the adult one has 2 levels! The zoo finally had sea lion shows as well as orangutans feeding. Huge difference! Hope the zoo gets more attractions in the near future, but as a long time zoo member, I finally feel it's worth the trip to come and spend the day at the El Paso zoo!

Always love visiting the zoo, every time is something different and we always enjoy having family day here. Bought the year pass that includes other zoo across the USA so that s a perk as well when traveling this summer and anytime.

We were expecting more for the price we paid. I wish the exhibits were more friendly towards disabled people, I do appreciate the ramps for wheel chairs but what good is it if you have to stand up in order to see into the exhibits. The train ride should be covered with the entrance fee at least until there are more animals to see. The bird show was great and the play area was nice. I understand that it is expensive to run a zoo but PLEASE take the disabled community into consideration, children with special needs love the zoo too.

The El Paso Zoo is modestly sized, but it's clear the staff tries very hard to entertain new comers and members by varying the experience. There is a variety of exhibits, categorized by area of the world, and includes a walk-through aviary which was a hit with my kids. There were a few animals which weren't out due to medical reasons, but that was clearly articulated by the zoo using signs. There's a splash pad, a fairly large park, and a carousel (warning: it closes at three). The concessions could use a little work; my opinion is they need a little more variety. Overall, the El Paso Zoo provides a safe, clean, family-friendly experience that is engaging for children and their parents. I recommend the memberships for families. They can be purchased on site at the guest services to the right of the main entrance.

About El Paso Zoo

The El Paso Zoo is a popular destination for animal lovers and families looking for a fun day out. Located on 35 acres of land, the zoo is home to a diverse range of animals from different parts of the world, including Africa, America, Asia, and the Chihuahuan Desert. With its commitment to conservation and education, the El Paso Zoo offers visitors an opportunity to learn about wildlife while having fun.

One of the unique features of the El Paso Zoo is its focus on animals from the Chihuahuan Desert region. This area covers parts of Mexico and southwestern United States and is known for its arid climate and unique flora and fauna. The zoo has several exhibits that showcase animals from this region such as Mexican wolves, prairie dogs, desert bighorn sheep, and mountain lions.

In addition to desert animals, visitors can also see exotic creatures like African elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras as well as Asian tigers at the zoo. The exhibits are designed to mimic natural habitats so that visitors can observe these magnificent creatures up close in an environment that closely resembles their natural habitat.

Apart from viewing animals in their habitats at close quarters; there are many other activities available at El Paso Zoo which makes it an ideal place for family outings or school trips. Visitors can take part in interactive experiences such as feeding giraffes or birds; attend educational talks by zookeepers who share interesting facts about various species; watch live animal shows featuring sea lions or birds-of-prey; ride on a train around the park or even have birthday parties with special packages offered by them.

The El Paso Zoo also has several conservation programs aimed at protecting endangered species both locally and globally. These programs include breeding programs for endangered species like Mexican gray wolves which were once extinct in Texas but now have been reintroduced into their native habitat through successful breeding efforts by zoos like this one.

Another program run by them focuses on educating people about wildlife conservation issues such as poaching or habitat destruction through workshops held throughout year where experts share information about how we can all help protect our planet's biodiversity.

Overall if you're looking for a fun-filled day out with your family while learning something new then look no further than The El Paso Zoo! With its wide range of animal exhibits showcasing creatures from around world along with interactive experiences available throughout park - there's something here everyone will enjoy!
