Unfortunately, this Zoo was VERY small for the size of the city it is in. They did have some animals I had never seen before. However, regardless of the unusual animals, this Zoo fell way below what I expected it would be. I was VERY bothered by the inadequate size of the enclosures of almost all the animals! I especially felt bad for the lone elephant in particular. He just stood in one spot and continually swayed back and forth- which is a soothing action for animals as well as humans! It literally made my heart hurt watching him. They had no visible "enrichment" things for him to do, or any other animal for that matter! The elephant wasn't the only animal there who was "dying" of boredom. I usually LOVE any zoo! But this one made me sad...It's as if the Zoo keepers didn't know what to do to help the animals with boredom. At this point the animals would not survive in the wild, so they were stuck there for their lifetime.... On another note, the price for admission for one adult is $12! I just was expecting so much more. You may go and enjoy it, but this is my opinion.

The zoo is awesome and the family passes are a great investment if you plan to be at the zoo more than 3 times this year. It has a splash pad, a playground, the new ropes course, a carousel, a train, and oh yeah, animals!

this place was horrible. As a student that went there as a field trip, they were completely unprepared. There was only one concession stand open, about 50 kids waiting in line. I'd never willfully come here again.

Zero stars! My kids got to see the backside of a zebra!
Camp Everyone Talks is an amazing opportunity for our special needs students throughout the El Paso and surrounding areas; reaching as far as Gadsen ISD sponsored by Region 19 ESC. It's an amazing opportunity provided free to our students who are on an AAC device through grants and donations provided by local non-profit organizations and local businesses every two years. Bowl El Paso has always been accommodating. We wanted to try something new this year in addition to them. Unfortunately, the El Paso Zoo fell very, very short of our expectations. This experience was an eye opener for our special needs population. They had an opportunity to make a summer partner in education at the ultimate level, and instead it became an ultimate fail.

Doesnt have a ton of animals. You can easily walk the whole zoo withing about an hour or two. Depends on your kids, and party you bring. The gift shop is over priced vs other zoo's I've been too for the same stuff. The condition of some of the animals I'm not happy with. They're habitats are not mimicking they're natural habitats where they originate from. And some of the animals seem lonely and just not completely happy. It's only a good place to go if you need something to just randomly do and that's about it.

We had a good time, but the animals all must had just had lunch & were all sleeping. It's the first Zoo I've been to where the animals weren't friendly. They seemed so sad and lonely, but if they were out on the wild maybe they wouldn't even be alive so I'm glad they're safe.

They have lots of animal exhibits where you can get up close and personal. They have a childrens playground and a splash pad. My son loves the train, and the carousel. Almost all animals were out on exhibit. Even the babies in May.

Having grown up in the area I have seen this Zoo change and become a great place for families. There is room for a lot more growth but it is well worth a visit. With the recent addition of the wings of the world show there is enough events to round out a interesting, entertaining, lengthy visit.

It definitely was better than what I expected. The new addition is nice the old section not nice at all. Also they should try to keep the aquarium clean, can't see anything through green glass.

I love the El Paso Zoo and it is great that they are starting to update it! It is looking really good and I cannot wait to go visit. I recently was here helping work on the sea lion exhibit and helping get the feeding pool ready and they definitely care a lot about all of the animals here and really want the public to interact as much as possible with them!

i feel like unless they can get their attendance up so they can invest more in the Zoo they should consider housing alternatives for some of the animals. The tiger looked malnourished and sick pretty sad. I do understand the purpose of these places and am not against them. Also El Paso during the summer is pretty harsh. The Giraffe and elephants were also pretty upsetting.

I really like all the improvements and additions that have been made since the last time I went years ago. They have lots of events and activities that go on to encourage people to make a stop at the zoo. All in all it's a good experience.

About El Paso Zoo

The El Paso Zoo is a popular destination for animal lovers and families looking for a fun day out. Located on 35 acres of land, the zoo is home to a diverse range of animals from different parts of the world, including Africa, America, Asia, and the Chihuahuan Desert. With its commitment to conservation and education, the El Paso Zoo offers visitors an opportunity to learn about wildlife while having fun.

One of the unique features of the El Paso Zoo is its focus on animals from the Chihuahuan Desert region. This area covers parts of Mexico and southwestern United States and is known for its arid climate and unique flora and fauna. The zoo has several exhibits that showcase animals from this region such as Mexican wolves, prairie dogs, desert bighorn sheep, and mountain lions.

In addition to desert animals, visitors can also see exotic creatures like African elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras as well as Asian tigers at the zoo. The exhibits are designed to mimic natural habitats so that visitors can observe these magnificent creatures up close in an environment that closely resembles their natural habitat.

Apart from viewing animals in their habitats at close quarters; there are many other activities available at El Paso Zoo which makes it an ideal place for family outings or school trips. Visitors can take part in interactive experiences such as feeding giraffes or birds; attend educational talks by zookeepers who share interesting facts about various species; watch live animal shows featuring sea lions or birds-of-prey; ride on a train around the park or even have birthday parties with special packages offered by them.

The El Paso Zoo also has several conservation programs aimed at protecting endangered species both locally and globally. These programs include breeding programs for endangered species like Mexican gray wolves which were once extinct in Texas but now have been reintroduced into their native habitat through successful breeding efforts by zoos like this one.

Another program run by them focuses on educating people about wildlife conservation issues such as poaching or habitat destruction through workshops held throughout year where experts share information about how we can all help protect our planet's biodiversity.

Overall if you're looking for a fun-filled day out with your family while learning something new then look no further than The El Paso Zoo! With its wide range of animal exhibits showcasing creatures from around world along with interactive experiences available throughout park - there's something here everyone will enjoy!
