This place is absolutely the best Zen of a hotel in San Antonio. Talk about relaxation. Gorgeously decorated and not to mention the coolest pool (flat screens & cabanas.) This is the spot I request for my guests from out of town to stay. The service is great!

Great hotel! Beds are nice, rooms are very clean. The spa is nice and the folks that work here are very polite, accommodating and courteous. We recommend to everyone we know and will definitely come back!

I stayed at this hotel with my mom the night before my wedding and my wedding night. We thought it would be a great place for my husband and I to stay for such a special night, and the hotel staff repeatedly dropped the ball. They didn t care that I was a bride or how special this day was to me. The service was an incredible disappointment.

When my husband and I got to the room after our reception, trash was still all over the room and the cart with the box lunches we had ordered while the bridal party was getting ready earlier in the day had not been removed. The room had not been cleaned at all. I regret booking here and wish I had picked the Westin.

My husband called down to the desk to get housekeeping while I, in my wedding dress, started to clean up the room myself. We waited 10 minutes. I called again. I explained to the person on the phone that it was our wedding night and no one had shown up yet. He told me that housekeeping was helping another guest and to keep waiting. We were not treated as a priority.

Eventually they did come and clean everything. My husband in his tux, and me in my dress just stood there and watched. In no way shape or form should that be acceptable.

Earlier in the day we called housekeeping to make the bed so the room would be picturesque when my mom and I came back from the salon to get dressed. My mom arrived before I did and it had not been done. Fortunately she was able to get people to the room before the photographer and I arrived.

I was flustered, tearing up, and couldn t remember who he had talked to. I sent them up stairs to talk to my mother-in-law who had made a lot of the other arrangements with the hotel (boxed lunches, when they were supposed to come clean the room, etc.). They left, and I was in tears. Fortunately, they let us stay and didn t bother us again after that.

The Westin said they would not charge us a fee to take pictures at any point, for the record.
After we arrived at the hotel on the wedding night to when we had left in the morning, there was not a single manager for us to talk with. When we left the hotel in the morning, we talked to the person behind the front desk, and he said they hotel was aware of our complaints and we would be called later in the day by a manager. I never received a call from the hotel. It occurred to me that they never had any intention since they never asked for my number and, to my knowledge, I had never given it to them.

Planning and executing a wedding is stressful enough on its own. Don t stay here especially if it s a special occasion.

I am a bluegreen owner, and this resort was simple awesome! They are steady growing and adding on and it makes it even more harder to leave. Six Flags was located right across the street and sea world not to far.

Elian is a beautiful hotel overlooking the valley. The staff are very nice and accommodating. BUT BEWARE if you leave anything in the room it is gone. My husband inadvertently left 5-6 shirts in a drawer. We called the resort within hours of our departure to inform them of the oversight. We were promised an immediate call back from housekeeping which we never received. Nor were our subsequent 6-7 calls ever returned. Very disappointing that housekeeping is allowed to keep what is left in drawers. To me , it is no better than a thief. I would have thought that a hotel of that caliber had employees with better scruples.

Check in was the most unpleasant experience. It was almost like it was a chore to check us in, felt unwelcomed.
We let it go, got into our room and crashed we were so tired. I noticed a hair in the sink (a long hair) but I passed it as mine and let that go too... then I saw blood stains on the sheets. Fresh...not like hospital sheets where you can see they ve been washed. Which really doesn t matter because they shouldn t have been there period.
When we talked to the front desk she said they would take picture and let housekeeping know...we had already taken pictures and she asked for us to send them.
We were there for less than 10 hours and we had such a bad taste about everything that we just went home instead of staying and enjoying the resort.
While we were checking out at front desk there were other guests complaining about something else also...don t know what but they were even more mad than we were!
We wanted to give this hotel a chance for staycation, because everyone goes to la cantera resort for that, looks like we will be doing the same. Our wedding night was ruined because of the disgusting things and gross hospitality.

Highly disappointed with the hotel.

Highly disappointed with the hotel.

-Waited over 2 hours for our room which went through "several stages of cleaning and approval" only to get a room with a non working outlet, burned out lightbulb in bathroom, sink stopped disconnected and no functioning, and a dial switch that operates nothing.
-For the cost of the room, the outlets and lights are tied to a master switch by the door, so expect to spend some time trying to get lights on and off in the area of the room when desired.
-Don't plan on unpacking while you are there either. The only closet holds about 5 hangers.
-Parking?! There is guest parking about 1/4 mile away downhill, otherwise, valet only.
-Advertised Trolley has been removed per the apartment residents' complaint as disruptive.
-Daily cleaning equalled clean towels and made bed only. No cleaning of floor or even replacing disposable coffee cups.
-Housekeeping came in about 8:30 the first day and wanted to go ahead and replace the towels. I guess they wouldn't have done the beds if I had agreed at that time.
-Don't count on the Virtual Golf. The projector is "outdated" and they are unable to "find a replacement bulb".
-If you are looking for the "front" of the hotel as the pictures indicate online, good luck. All those stairs are NOT the front nor accessible by car, trolley-yes, but as mentioned before- there is no trolley.
-We checked out a day early due to the disappointments. And guess who is NOT being refunded the prepaid last night costs?
-Events held there were underprepared. Not enough seating provided. No trays for disposing of cups, etc.
-Some elevators did not work and they are shared with staff. We were down to one elevator for staff and guests for 10 levels. So expect to wait. Leave early for everything you need to do in and out of the hotel. The hotel is divided in half also, so you may have to go up or down and across the lobby, then up or down just to meet up with others.
-CAUTION when riding the golf cart from the parking lot to the lobby. We could have easily fallen out three separate times. Very fast driving around curves and corners. Very flimsy handles on the back seat for security.

Great place to stay. This is a Blue Green property. It is a fantastic place to.stay. You have to use Valet parking and that is the only draw back to staying there. Very friendly staff there.

The hotel is in a great location next to La Canterra and the rim. The area around the hotel is fantastic as well. The restaurants and shops nearby are nice. The room was fantastic. It had a great shower and bed , and tons of good pillows. I wasn't able to check out all the amenities of the hotel, but the restaurant downstairs was great. The entire hotel has a great upscale feel with marble and hardwood. I will absolutely return to check out the spa and virtual golf.

Very nice hotel and very friendly staff. Food was excellent couldn't ask for anything better. Was there for Blue/green. Was treated very good if we needed anything there was no hesitation on getting what we needed. Definitely will have to go back and visit would recommend this hotel & spa. Very clean and helpful staff. Thanks!!

Don t stay here they can t seem to get anything ...

Don t stay here they can t seem to get anything right.

The first disappointment for us was entering a room that was described as deluxe that only fit a bed and a small armchair in the corner with a dresser, a desk and two nightstands. There was no room to do anything but walk between these furniture pieces. I paid extra to get the deluxe room because we were a family of 4, I understood we were getting a larger room and the photo of the room type included a full loveseat. When we got to our room, I called the front desk to voice this concern and was simply told that s the right room type. We remained in that room, despite the stains on the rug that caused us to keep our socks on the entire stay.

Later that day I needed a microwave and called down to ask for one to be sent to the room. As a frequent business traveler, I have never stayed at a hotel where there wasn t a microwave in the room or one that could be brought up by maintenance at the guest s request. I was told that there were none for the rooms but I was welcome to use the one behind the front desk. I had to make my way downstairs and then was escorted into the employee breakroom to use their microwave. Felt very uncomfortable using the microwave discomfort in a room where I didn t really feel I was even authorized in be in.

In the evening we were hungry for some late night snacks to find that there was no pantry and no vending machines. The gift shop had closed already so we were stuck either going off property or just going to bed a little hungry.

The next morning was truly the worst of it as I awoke to a constant drilling outside my window. In this extremely expensive room that I was hoping to spend a restful night and leisurely morning, I was awakened at 7am by a cement saw from a road crew cutting the road beneath my window. After 30 minutes of constant nonstop sawing, I called the front desk and was told it wasn t their fault as it was the city of Austin. I asked why the guests on this side of the building weren t at least made aware of the work and why they hadn t tried to put the guests onto the other side of the building instead. I didn t get a response. About 20 minutes later I received a call from the front desk offering to give us a cabana for the day and a late check out to make up for this inconvenience. A hollow offer given the 50 degree day.

Breakfast was another disappointment. We sat for over a half hour and had to go over to the hostess stand three times before finally having a server come take our order. Our food took quite some time and our server never returned after serving it to us so needing additional items to make the meal complete didn t matter because there was no one to provide them to us.

Finally, our keys didn t work the entire stay. After initial entry into the room, they never worked again. We were forced to go down to the front desk several times and eventually they determined there might be something wrong with their key encoder. This again was another inconvenience.

One last point after giving them my Marriott number at check in and them confirming they had it so I would get the points credit, it did not in fact hit my statement. I had to call Marriott rewards to get the stay credited.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is lovely, food wasn't bad, but the spa was a tad disappointing. The spa itself is beautiful, but the massage I received was not anything special. I could hardly relax because the LMT kept pausing, then whispering to the other therapist that was working on my husband. It was alright, but not something I would book again.

This was not much of a resort. The food was unimpressive. Cleaning was questionable as there were stains on the curtains, the bins didn t have liners, and spots on the floor. The furniture in the room was in poor repair and the bathroom doors wouldn t close properly nor the door on the dressers. Even the coffee seemed off there. Staff hardly acknowledged us unless we cornered them. Spa amenities were disappointing as everything smelled weird and seemed grimy. The walls were paper thin and even though security addressed noise issues, they continued and the staff kind of shrugged when we addressed it the next morning. We won t go again and make that mistake and we don t recommend wasting your time. One can do so much more for the prices and get better service, food, and amenities and we ve had better experiences at other resorts who provided flat rates up front, offered amazing service (including turn down with chocolates) with friendly staff, and everything was immaculate and quiet.

Very nice staff. Very clean rooms. No room service. Had to pay for parking. Breakfast was not complimentary. the price you pay for these rooms certain things should be included. Guest service was no help with purchasing tickets for anything going on in the area. We bought a sample package in Vegas last year because the experience was so much better, but coming to this resort it feels like it was all a hoax to get my money.

this is my second visit here and again I am put in the handicap room and I'm not handicapped, very disappointed, the beds are nice, no microwave, small refrigerator with no freezer compartment but a keurig coffee machine, too warm things up you have to go to business center on first floor, because it's handicapped water goes all over the time floor when you take a shower so the floor is super slippery

Beautiful resort, lovely suites. Horrible customer service from front desk and restaurant staff. For the amount of money you pay per night you would think I would have better service from nicer people. If I would have encountered a friendlier staff, I would have given it 5 stars.

Before you book this beautiful hotel for a wedding...

Before you book this beautiful hotel for a wedding, I compel you to read my horrible experience. Fair warning, this review is long, but only because the list of stressful mistakes is so long.

We were given big promises and spent months planning the perfect reception. Every detail was perfectly planned and the food tasting was amazing, the chicken was to die for! I was a little hesitant when introduced to this other man who was to take over coordinating the reception instead of the catering manager that had helped me plan it, but she assured me that he was capable. Boy was she wrong.

On the day of the wedding (4/5/19), it was as if our perfectly planned schedule was tossed out the window and rude, incompetent staff replaced the helpful workers. The reception started late, which wouldn t have been a major deal if they tried to get back on schedule. The food for the bride and groom was supposed to be plated at the head table before guests were to enter the ballroom. I have hypoglycemia and several food allergies so a special plate menu was written into the contract for me. Not only was our food not on the table, they brought me food containing the allergen more than once. The server guaranteed that the second plate brought to me was allergy friendly when it was very obvious that it was not. I went into the kitchen twice to find my food to no avail. Eventually while crashing from low blood sugar, a GUEST went to the restaurant downstairs and got me a piece of salmon to tie me over until my plate was found. While the brides food fiasco was occurring, it also came to my attention that the guests were not immediately released for dinner. After me asking the men in charge 3 different times if the guests had been released for dinner and being told that they had, the staff finally realized that no guests had been released. Then the man that was supposed to be in charge was nowhere to be found an hour into the reception and the banquet captain had no clue what was going on and had obviously not been given our perfectly planned schedule.

They also messed up the serving of the cake, only offering one of the three flavors. The incompetent staff brought me the regular cake instead of our special one (which I was too busy to realize) and I was sick that entire next week. The bar staff was incredibly rude and disappeared when the line started to back up. The bar contained liquor when they were instructed to only have the specified beer and wine. Our ride for the sendoff at the end of the reception was not there and the staff had no clue what we were talking about. The staff did not allow us to take any gifted alcohol back to our suite. Finally, to top it all off, they overcharged us by over two THOUSAND dollars by counting the number of seats instead the number of plates consumed (dinner was buffet style, not everyone ate due to illness, etc) and then attempted to make it right by only giving a small portion back for the allergen mistakes. They did not right the wrongs that were done and admitted to be at fault for causing the bride to direct the whole reception and for other mistakes (they also messed up and overcharged for the bridesmaids catered lunch). Without the bride and the dj, the reception would have fallen apart.

So if you are prepared to direct your own reception, be charged for people who do not eat, and want a reception with no plan or schedule, Eilan is the hotel for you.
I would love to give zero stars, but that is not possible. Also, it is now 2 weeks after the wedding (4/17/19) and I am still trying to resolve issues with the Eilan staff.

Best of luck with your future weddings!

This is a wonderful hotel with great service and ambiance. They took superb care of my husband and me on 4 separate occasions. good value for the money and personalized service. This is the only place we stay in San Antonio.

The hotel was truly lovely and the staff was great! We were there during Civid 19, so there were a few restrictions like having to request a blanket, ironing board/iron, etc. There was a Keurig and hair dryer in the room without requesting them. The only reason I am not giving the hotel 5 stars has to do with the Bluegreen Vacation Club owner's review. We are owners and have found that information is shared that sounds great during the reviews, once you actually try to use the features they sold you on, you find out all of the catches. Knowing this, we tried to be extremely direct with our questions. Basically they just purposely leave out very important information. In my book that's dishonest. I won't be going to any other owner review meetings with this company. Do yourself a favor. If you're interested in vacation club ownership, check out Disney. They are very up front and honest. We love their vacation club!!

Nice hotel for a couple weekend get away or family time. Heated outdoor and indoor pool, restaurant, coffee shop, full size gym, fitness activities premise and spa. Great area around the hotel to talk a walk a night.

Hotel was nice but be very careful of the bluegreen vacation timeshare that is a part of this hotel. We bought, canceled the next morning and over a month later still trying to get our $3600 deposit returned and the choice points promised for taking the tour!
I ve called at least 50 times, spoke to many people and been told so many different things. I can t imagine how hard it would be to book s trip if we had decided to keep this vacation package.
Just remember you can cancel and you have up to 6 days in Texas to do it. Hopefully my refund will be coming soon!
