Can't visit Paris without stopping at the Eiffel Tower. We did not go up but got spectacular views from Trocadero as well as from the carousel across the street. In the evenings at the top of the hour is the Eiffel Tower light show. Amazing!

The Eiffel Tower - The iron lady of Paris is probably one of the most known structure in world.
Tower can be viewed from almost all parts of city.
Best time to visit - night
We visited tower almost all days of our stay of 4 days
Here is how you can make most out of your tour of Eiffel Tower
-Go to big lawns - "Champ de Mars" around Eiffel Tower and have picnic there. Most people have candle light dinner and drinks there and enjoy the view of Eiffel Tower.
-Take tour of tower in night - it costs around 20 euro per person - we take stairs till level 2 of tower and from there we took lift to go to top of tower. the view from top is amazing and we get to see whole city from top. they also have restaurant and restrooms on 1st floor and Souvenir shop(things to remember -It is too crowded and you need 2-3 hours to take a relax tour)

-Beware of lot of thief are around in this area so take care of your purse and belongings

The outstanding attraction of Paris, which deserves an exceptionally dedicated mention is the engineering marvel, epitome of love, Eiffel Tower.
Indeed a masterpiece & remarkable piece of art! A lettuce structure so complicated I can compare it to DNA without a second thought.
One can climb up the tower with help of elevators. Level 1, 2, 3 & top are the 4 levels. There's a small restaurant at the top where you can raise a toast of champagne with your loves one.

Jaw dropping unforgettable view of the tower when it sparkles at night (I believe, every hour). Get your ticket online and in advance if you want to go to the top. The line was moving very fast, well organized entry. The views are just breathtaking! Take your time, enjoy the beauty of the city and make sure NOT to use the elevator down. Take the stairs and see the tower form the inside, feel yourself part of it!
There s a nice souvenir shop on the level where the restaurant is, they sell a few things that are made in France (specifically in Paris) of very good quality.

3rd floor closed

Going up to the Eiffel Tower is always amazing. But things had change... there is no free access thru the gardens from the streets. They closed all around with glasses and put security checkpoints to get in. So sad. Lost part of the beauty of the visit.
The last floor was closed for repairs.

The Eiffel Tower is a wrought iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. When I visit Eiffel tower place that time temperature was '0' in ground & -2 in top of tower. Its just memorable place for me. If you plane to visit Eiffel tower then try to go middle of day time & should stay in tower to view night charming, there is 3 step where lift stop and people are visit inside the tower. But I like 3rd/top step in tower where you can full vision of Paris!

It definitely stands out from all other famous European constructions. Come on, the French used to hate it and hoped it wouldn t last long, it was about to be demolished at some point of time... now it s a symbol of Paris and associated with love and romantic atmosphere. And yes, it is as beautiful as it s expensive.

I'm not a huge fan of all 9f the construction or gates and the pan handlers that are surrounding the tower... I'm sure nobody is. That's the main reason that I would never give the tower 5/5. However, the way the tower lights up at night is absolutely gorgeous. It made me happy enough that I took the day trip to Paris.

If you don't see this when you're in Paris then I'm not sure what to say... definitely a must see when visiting Paris and something you won't forget for a lifetime. After seeing this iconic tower in movies and photos growing up, it was truly magical seeing it in real life. Although, for some strange reason, I thought the tower would be bigger. What's more french than eating a baguette at the Eiffel Tower? I would recommend buying a nice crusty french baguette with prosciutto and soft cheese to picnic at the park. There's a nice bench right underneath the tower where you can sit, relax, watch the birds, and of course enjoy the beauty of the Eiffel Tower.

Amazing structure... one will get a wow sight from the road just beside the train station. Don t miss the evening glitter lights show I think will be shown every half an hour after sunset.. I suggest you to take the stairs and climb to 1 st floor where you can experience the glass bottom floor, you will miss this if you take the elevator from the ground level which will directly take you to second floor... believe climbing up the stairs if one of the wonderful experience. Do you book your tickets in advance online.. saves time..

I just loved my visit to the Eiffel Tower. This was my first visit and I was amazed at how big it is in person. It stands much wider than it looks on the pictures I have seen. I heard the stories about the pick-pockets around the Eiffel tower so I was extra careful but I didn't see any incidents with the group I was with. The second level is a great place to enjoy the view and see the whole of Paris! The elevators were a bit crowded so I decided to take the stairs down to the 1st level. There are a lot of winding stairs in the tower but it was a nice experience. There are several shops and eateries in the tower too! Some of the souvenirs are more expensive than you might find in the shops across the street so you may want to check other places out as well. If you don't want to spend a lot on your meal stop by the Millenia Tour Eiffel for a snack.

Please book in advance !
there is much security, which generates long queues ... so please book in advance. don't forget to go to the lower level, and walk over the glass floor and take a drink at the bar.

Looking past the queues for the lifts and the amount of people in one place, the experience of going up the Eiffel Tower leaves you amazed. Even if you are not keen on heights I would recommend going up, the view on a clear day is amazing! Definitely something to put on your bucket list to do with your other half/partner or even a friend/family member.

Crikey! The lift and viewing from the summit are not for the faint hearted! Give me a huge roller coaster any day over the journey to the top. Saying that, I m pleased that I ve done it! Nothing to criticise in terms of the sturdiness of the tower or the smoothness of the lifts...it s just the shear size of the tower which seems even higher once outside at the top!

No one miss the Eiffel Tower when you're in Paris....

No one miss the Eiffel Tower when you're in Paris. Always careful with strangers in Eiffel Towers. Cheaters are roaming and asking for donation, gambling gamer cheating 1000's of euros but when the police comes they ran away. Police and security should be increased because of the hot tourist spot in Europe. Even at late evening, selling roses, wines, gifts to people and cheating the tourists are pathetic. Really difficult for me, to roam alone for taking photos with my camera both on morning and night.

So my advice to all is don't bring huge amount of cash unless it's necessary. 50euros is enough for buying some stuffs or food. Mostly everywhere credit cards are accepted. Keep an eye always on your Mobiles, cameras and other gears. Groups or couple is still safer than to be alone. For taking good beautiful pictures, stand little bit farther away from the tower. Even I was requested to take people's photos in front of tower. Of course you can take, but you won't get full coverage of stunning Eiffel Tower. One can use ultra wide angle lens, but your face looks terrible at that time. Happy time and love in Paris

Awesome iconic landmark in Paris. It's great to go up to the highest level where you can get a great view of Paris. If you but the Paris card comes with express (skip the line) if you want to go up in the Eiffel Tower. You can spend a few hours if you decide to go up so make sure you plan accordingly. On top of this you can spend a few hours around the Eiffle tower taking pictures.

The Eiffel Tower is definitely a must see in Paris. To get underneath the tower, they have glass walls and security around the base of the tower. They search your bags and they have metal detectors. To get to the top of the tower you pay a fee, it's less to go up the stair than take the elevator. You go through security again if you want to go up. To go to the very top, everybody takes the elevator. It's very cool to be at the top and the view is great.

Worth it to see the top floor and the view at night. Would not do it again as our 'skip the line' tickets allowed us to only have to spend one hour to get to the top. Elevators are crowded and body odor is a real issue in the summer. It also only costs 26 to have two small flutes of champagne up there. What's not to love?

The Eiffel tower is the trademark of Paris, France...

The Eiffel tower is the trademark of Paris, France. With the tower being 984ft, it s kind of hard not to notice it. The tower has a restaurant, radio and television transmitter and more. Gustave A. Eiffel created the tower to enter it in the worlds fair. It was made with wrought iron and had medium wind resistance. Gustave started in 1889 and completed in 1910. Gustave A. Eiffel created the Eiffel Tower. Eiffel oversaw the construction with such success that in 1866 he founded his own company and soon became known for his wrought iron structures. Starting in 1872 he attracted foreign contracts, and in 1877 he created over the Douro River in Porto, Portugal, a steel arch bridge 525 ft in height.

The Eiffel Tower is a landmark and an early example of wrought-iron construction on a gigantic scale. It was designed and built by the French civil engineer Gustave Alexandre Eiffel for the Paris World s Fair of 1889. The tower, without its modern broadcasting antennae, is 984 ft high. The lower section consists of four immense arched legs set on masonry piers. The legs curve inward until they unite in a single tapered tower. Platforms, each with an observation deck, are at three levels; on the first is also a restaurant. The tower, constructed of about 7000 tons of iron, has stairs and elevators. A meteorological station, a radio communications station, and a television transmission antenna, as well as a suite of rooms that were used by Eiffel are located near the top of the tower.

Eiffel s work combined expert craftsmanship and graceful design. Completed in 1884, it was for a time the highest bridge in the world, winning Eiffel s factory a worldwide reputation for excellence. Eiffel cast Frederic Auguste Bartholdi s colossal statue Liberty Enlightening the World, which was dedicated in New York in 1886. Soon after, he began work on his greatest project, the building of the Eiffel Tower. It was completed in 1889 for the celebration of the centennial of the French Revolution (1789-1799). Eiffel was not a popular man when he started building the huge steel-frame tower that would overlook Paris. The structure was just too different and the critics didn t like it at all. In 1887, the leading artists of Paris signed a petition to have what they regarded as a monstrosity torn down immediately. Fortunately for Paris, their call was ignored. And though Parisians didn t like it at first, they began to grow fond of the structure they initially called a Cyclops and a skeleton. The Eiffel Tower was completed in 1889, just in time to show off for the World s Fair, being held that year in Paris. The tower was also a sign of things to come. Eiffel was taking full advantage of a new building material, structural steel. With it he took the first step in creating what would become the modern skyscraper.

The imposing tower-constructed of 7,000 tons of iron in 18,000 parts held together by 2,500,000 rivets rises to a height of 984 ft and continues to dominate the Paris skyline. In the early 1890 s Eiffel gave up the daily management of his business and became absorbed in the new science of aerodynamics.

Emile Nouguier and Maurice Koechlin, the two chief engineers in Eiffel s company, had the idea for a very tall tower in June 1884. It was to be designed like a large pylon with four columns of lattice work girders, separated at the base and coming together at the top, and joined to each other by more metal girders at regular intervals. The company had by this time mastered perfectly the principle of building bridge supports. The tower project was a bold extension of this principle up to a height of 300 meters, equivalent to the symbolic figure of 1000 ft. On September 18 1884 Eiffel registered a patent for a new figuration allowing the construction of metal supports and pylons capable of exceeding a height of 300 meters .

Built in 1889 for the Exposition Universelle, the ...

Built in 1889 for the Exposition Universelle, the Eiffel Tower (Tour Eiffel) has become the main symbol of Paris. It is also the most-visted attraction in the world.

The Eiffel Tower is a wrought iron tower that stands 1,063 ft (324 m) tall. It was designed for the Exposition Universelle, a world fair held in Paris in 1889. It is currently the most famous symbol of Paris.

If it s your first time in Paris, going up the Eiffel Tower is a must. Visitors can choose to go up using the Tower lift or the stairs. However, before making your mind up on how you want to visit the monument, it is important to keep in mind that there are 1,665 steps to the top.

If you decide to take the stairs, you can only visit the second floor. Although the stairs admission ticket is cheaper, the difference is not worthwhile and we recommend taking the elevator.

The best moment to enjoy the breath-taking views of Paris is early in the morning to avoid the lines or at dusk, when visitors will see Paris lit up.

Eiffel Tower fun facts

Gustave Eiffel used latticed wrought iron to construct the tower to demonstrate that the metal could be as strong as stone while being lighter.
Eiffel also created the internal frame for the Statue of Liberty.
Construction of the Eiffel Tower cost 7,799,401.31 French gold francs in 1889, or about $1.5 million.
The Eiffel Tower is 1,063 feet (324 meters) tall, including the antenna at the top. Without the antenna, it is 984 feet (300 m).
It was the world's tallest structure until the Chrysler Building was built in New York in 1930.
The tower was built to sway slightly in the wind, but the sun affects the tower more. As the sun-facing side of the tower heats up, the top moves as much as 7 inches (18 centimeters) away from the sun.
The sun also causes the tower to grow about 6 inches.
The Eiffel Tower weighs 10,000 tons.
There are 5 billion lights on the Eiffel Tower.
The French have a nickname for the tower: La Dame de Fer, "the Iron Lady."
The first platform is 190 feet above the ground; the second platform is 376 feet, and the third platform is almost 900 feet up.
The Eiffel Tower has 108 stories, with 1,710 steps. However, visitors can only climb stairs to the first platform. There are two elevators.
One elevator travels a total distance of 64,001 miles (103,000 kilometers) a year.

If you've been to one tower you've been to em all ...WRONG .. The iron Lady, standing tall at the heart of Paris, let's you in on the bird's-eye view of this marvel of a city.. you can see the intricacies of how this magnificent city is carved out of this challenging landscape ..and not to mention.. indulge in a glass of a very decent champagne while you are at it.

Please make sure you buy your tickets to the summit online atleast 2 to 3 weeks in advance of your intended day of hike or you will spend anywhere between 40 mins to 2 hours standing in the queue and that may dampen your enthusiasm of climbing this engineering prodigy.

There are plenty of 3rd party options of buying these tickets online in case the official ticket allocation for your day of choice have exhausted. These tickets package up Eiffel Tower with dinners or river cruises etc. and are just a Google search away.
